This place never let’s me down. From rentals to new stuff they always have what we need. Looking at a Fender for my daughter, really nice and a better price than I expected.

New favorite music and guitar shop. The staff is all very helpful and John is such a sweetheart.
He helped me fix a small broken piece on my guitar for me and let me watch him do it.
Afterwards, he let me try out some of the guitars he had around the shop.
I was also extremely suprised to see how cheap the instruments are, price wise not quality wise.

Fantastic! There is a huge selection of guitars there. Even left handed. The gentlemen who work there are very helpful and there is a teacher for hire as well. John is a unique and eclectic individual and gave my daughter a quick lesson.. They gave me a great price on a beginner guitar for her. Thanks guys!

Not sure what the deal is in this town but I have yet to encounter any sort of professionalism with the businesses here!!!

Low quality gear that is way over priced.

I have been involved with Richard’s Music for almost 10 years. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I am a local music teacher and really appreciate that they offer quality instrument rentals. I have also taught private music lessons in their store for a few years. They are very accomodating and have a great space for private instruction. Additionally, I have purchased a guitar and various other music supplies from Richard’s. My guitar is still in good shape almost 10 years later. Richard’s music is a true gift to our rural community.

Have some passionate experts that have been working many many years. They have a small inventory, but they will take care of you. Unless you’re looking for something super specific, you’ll be well taken care of.

Brindley’s Music Center has been my go-to for all of my guitar repairs and set ups. In every instance of sending them my guitars, they’ve come out great. I recently messed up the intonation of my Jackson electric guitar and they fixed my bone-headed mistake with ease. Attention to detail is a skill I have a hard time finding when I look for a guitar tech. You’ll find it at Brindley’s.

Also bear in mind that you’re going to have better luck going to a family-owned music store, than the atypical chain stores. Brindley’s has always been family-owned and operated. They’ll treat you right and are very friendly. Nice selection of guitars, violins, among many other instruments. I strongly recommend you pay a visit to this store!

Brought my 89 Strat ultra to the Brindley’s. Very knowledgeable staff, friendly and accommodating. Just needed a setup and a neck tweak. Asked if he could find a screw for the roller nut. He said he’d look around for one he found one and when I got the guitar back, hasn’t played this good for a long time.

I’ve been going Brindley’s since I was 14 years old taking my first guitar lessons. I’m 29 now and they’ve been there through multiple bands, girlfriends, and apartments. I still use them for all my gear, tune ups, and anything music related. They are a Chandler staple and I can’t reccomend them enough. The staff is always super friendly and knowledgable and their prices are always fair and competitive. Don’t go to guitar center, spend your money at the mom and pop shop.

It was very awesome service but milanos was cheaper books were 8.00 and care kits were10.00 and at brindleys it was almost 16.00 and for book it was 10

Fix it for the most part. Still feels as if the instrument is leaking from somewhere on the lower register. Still hard to push low notes without struggle.

After more then 10 months taking lessons a the place, and incident where the owner Bruce, disrespected my 11 year old for just looking at around the store just show what kind of service this place have. Extremely disappointed with Bruce, going back there no more. I’m sure there are other places with better costumer service.
My guitar teacher was the best, so sad situation here.

I went here to have a new nut out on an old guitar of mine. The nut is cut too short making the strings buzz. Now I am left fixing it myself which sucks since I paid almost $60 to have it fixed.

I had heard so many good things about this place from other musicians, so my S/O and I decided to try it out. We needed our guitars set up, mine electric, hers acoustic. When we brought the guitars in, we were given a sort of turned up nose treatment when we revealed our guitars. Mine a Purple Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, and hers an older blue Ibanez acoustic. Granted our guitars weren’t the most expensive, but we both loved them dearly (Mine was an anniversary present from her, and hers was her first guitar ever). I explained to the gentleman behind the counter what was going on with my guitar (Dead fret on the high E, also needing a full set up, action lowered, set up with 10’s.). My S/O explained that hers needed a set up as well. We handed over our guitars, and left with confidence.

A few days later we picked our guitars up, and went home to check them out. It. Was. Terrible. They raised the action on my PRS so high that it was almost unplayable, and the gentleman who did the set up said that he did so to get rid of the aforementioned dead fret, even though I gave express permission to do whatever was necessary to solve the issue while keeping the action LOW. That could have meant a level, crown, polish, replacement etc. Anything to keep the action low. My girlfriends acoustic buzzed so terribly on every single fret on the top three strings after we took it in, she has resorted to buying a brand new acoustic, because this place left hers unplayable. Now most people might say ”well if they messed up, take it back and have them fix it” but believe me when I say that when we saw the condition of our instruments, I would NEVER trust them in the hands of this place again. I really wanted to like this place, but after the treatment we and our instruments received, we’ll go elsewhere. Please stay away for your own good.

The owner is a pretty cool guy. Very knowledgeable on everything in the store. He has also made guitars for some of the biggest names in music history.

The owner of this establishment is beyond rude, he didn’t answer any questions (which I believe is because he has 0 knowledge of anything pertaining to his little business) and he over prices everything. I understand it’s a local business so prices will be higher but his USED banged up instruments are at least 70% higher than anywhere else for the same NEW instruments which is unreasonable.
I’ll be shopping at a honest local music shop.

Very unfortunate visit, coming in to try out and buy a steel string guitar. We were greeted with passive aggressiveness and a magazine thrown across the main entrance before entering the guitar room from the shop keeper, young guy. incredibly rude and 0 customer service.
Made the whole stay unpleasant.

Good selection, but weird atmosphere and left me feeling unwelcome. One might think such a ‘high’ tier guitar store would offer a ‘high’ tier experience, but that wasn’t the case for me. When I first entered the building I was met by a few older customers and employees and got nothing but a sour face by everyone just by opening the door, no greeting, nothing- super awkward, everybody literally stopped talking to look at me with an irritated look, as if I had interrupted something. I then had to excuse myself past the small gathering of what looked like employees talking to customers that wouldn’t move just to get to the first guitar room. I then was greeted by a salesman who instead of letting me tell him what I’m looking for, proceeds to go into a shpeel on all the different Martin models, basically making me interrupt him to tell what I’m looking for. The salesman also told me HD28s don’t come with dot inlays yet here I am looking at older models with them all over the internet. There was nobody else browsing the store in the guitar sections. I was then told I could play guitars, but the adjacent rooms are used for things like Banjo, which made it so I couldn’t even hear the guitars I was trying to play because somebody was in there clawing away. I really don’t think I’ll be visiting again, regardless of the selection. I’ll spend thousands of dollars somewhere else that takes every customer seriously. I went to Milano music right after and was treated respectfully and seriously without hesitation, and I didn’t need to schedule a high-pressure sales pitch and waste an hour of my time.

My son has been taking piano lessons with Donna for a few months and I could not be more pleased with our experience! It’s difficult to keep a 6 year old interested in learning a complex instrument, yet she manages to do it it week after week. Even on days he isn’t very excited to attend a lesson, he always leaves feeling proud of what he’s learned. Donna has been very flexible and courteous regarding scheduling and working with my stubborn kid! I can see that she truly enjoys teaching.

I have rented multiple instruments of good quality and price. The people are also super nice and friendly!

Went to the Music and Arts store today to purchase drumsticks and lessons. Couldn’t use my Canadian Credit card or American cash? Very disappointed

I don’t necessarily have a grievance with this store in particular but the company in general. When my children did not return in March due to COVID there was zero communication from the company as to what to do if we were currently renting from them. I called one day at the end of March to try and return the instrument and they said unless you can make it here by 5 pm tonight we are closing indefinitely due to Covid. They did not offer me any assistance or let me know there was a customer service line to call. I assumed this was a privately owned company. I tried calling today to see if I can return the instrument (we’ve been quarantined since March) and receive some sort of reimbursement due to the circumstances. The guy at the store told me there was a separate customer service number (oh NOW they tell me) that I would have to call to see if I can get a refund. I called and was told I should have called earlier to get my payments stopped and there was nothing they could do to get reimbursed for the months I have been paying for when I couldn’t return the instrument due to COVID and being quarantined. I don’t believe this is great customer service as almost every other company is offering Covid assistance and they will do nothing but keep my money.

Update- they just called me back and said if I return the instrument I could get half of my last months payment back. So I’ve been paying $27 a month for 4 months on an instrument that’s not even being used and they offer me roughly $13 dollars back. What a joke.

NEGATIVE STARS IS MORE LIKE IT!!! I have had the WORST experience dealing with the customer service from Music and Arts. Everytime me or my husband try to call and resolve our bill we get told a different story! NOONE has helped us resolve the issue and it’s been over 4 months now. The amount of money I have paid Music and Arts already, I could have boughten an instrument. NOT worth the hassel and absolute HORRIBLE customer service!!! Save your money and time and go somewhere else!!

I really like that they have a lot of people at the customer service area. There’s always someone there to help you, and they are all very knowledgeable. It is a very big place. Upstairs is where the music books are. They know about the band/orchestra programs for the valley schools, so they find the book you need. There is curbside parking in front and a parking lot in the back. Both have entrances.

Amazing customer service.

We got amazing service from Johnny Eckenrode, Milano’s guitar expert. We needed valuations on my deceased brother’s extensive guitar collection, amps, etc. I could not have been more impressed with the depth of his knowledge. Johnny is the real deal, honest, forthright and has everyone’s best interests in mind.

The cost to rent a clarinet was $200 for the school year. You can buy one NEW on Amazon for $100. I brought the instrument back 1 hour after rental and they still charged me for the month. Used to hear great things about this place.

I was waiting in line for a rental for about 20 min given it is a busy time of the year but everyone who walked up after me got attended to first. Just seemed very selective which rubbed me the wrong way.

Wanted to help a brick and mortor so I went in and ordered a music book. Told me that it’d take two weeks to get it. WOW! could have had it in one from the net. It’s been three weeks and no book. Phone calls have gone unreturned or a “we’ll call when it gets here.”
After nearly 4 wks, I got my order. Checking the publishers’ suggested prices, I see that I was charged $1/book over list price.
Next time I’ll use the internet.

Had repairs done to my guitar. Done well, and with good service.

They have just about everything you need. Prices are reasonable. The sales people are knowledgeable. The inventory is varied from low to high cost which is very helpful.

Cool store. It lessons department needs reworking and I often ask myself why I can go in there stand near the guitars for over 30 minutes and not once be approached by a sales person. I mean it’s kinda nice not to be bother but at the same time I won’t ever be able to get a good guitar that fits me.

Only able to give three stars due to the staff not being interested in helping me. Even told one of the guys I was interested in seeing a bass that was up higher than my reach. I actually was there to buy a $700 bass but after about half an hour and still not getting helped I left and bought it at an online retailer. It made little difference to me as it was the same price everywhere. I no longer buy anything but strings at guitar center as I can get anything split into 12 monthly payments online with zero interest. I doubt any local store would do the same for me.

They are okay if ya like all the illegal measures and some do. But if ya like music and freedom go to Milanos, have everything, really knowledgeable, fun and free breathing place. Plus main Street is just a cool place to be.

Looked like they had a great selection, I didn’t find everything I was looking for but thats just because I’m left handed and was asking for niche items like sharp picks and portable battery powered amps, not necessarily their fault, just keep in mind there’s no lefty guitars here. But other than that it seemed like a neat place, and the people were friendly. Will for sure go back for my other musical needs that aren’t so niche

Came in for guitar picks and strings and was thinking of buying an acoustic guitar on the wall. I asked if I could play it he said “yes”. I played a couple chords and got kicked out for playing it to “hard”.

I’ve been there quite a few times before. As a child the owner was alright but somehow he just became rude after a while. There was a time when I was 19(9 years ago) and there was an 800 dollar Jackson on the wall that I really wanted. I brought $850 dollars with me and jammed out on it for about 5 minutes, the owner came up to me and said “If you put one scratch on this I’m going to make you pay for it, do you understand?” I know I look young and I looked about 15 at the time but there have been several times(like yesterday{let me play for 4 minutes and told my party to leave when I wanted to buy a practice amp}) that I brought money in to make a purchase of over 300 dollars and he makes me uncomfortable or says something rude. If you need a reed, or if you need a rental, this is a good place. If you’re a musician, and you want to try stuff out, drive 40 minutes, the owner has been rude to me for 15 years. I swear he hates musicians.

Went to buy a guitar but no assistance from the clerk was offered and large sign indicated you can’t touch them without assistance so we left. Makes it difficult to make a purchase. To be fair the clerk was waiting on another customer but just continued to ignore us and didn’t even bother to say “hello” when we entered the store. Not much available there in the way of instruments unless you need used amps, guitar stands, cheap guitars, or ukuleles.

Wow! Great new location. Love how it’s all set up. Much more room than the old shop. If you need guitars or equipment go to Zimm’s. They’ll give you great deals, friendly service and good conversation!

Cool store…everything is used, couple of interesting options while I was there. It’s the kind of place you check in with on a regular basis because they are bound to have a gem once in a while.

The owner, Dane is a good friend. In fact we’ve played in a few bands together. Always has something I need or want, always willing to wheel and deal. But it is a business, know and expect like any other business he has overhead. Trust me this guy isn’t trying to make a killing. He’s fair and honest, some times. Takes a loss to help struggling musicians. I’ve bought or traded ALOT of gear with this guy, and will definitely be hanging out from time to time. Maybe doing a few set ups. Or cleaning guitars.

Not pleased at all. I called ahead to get instruments repaired and was told it would be two weeks. I drove to drop off instruments and asked if I could have them done a few days sooner. I was told the repair person is taking a vacation and it would be 3 weeks. But, if I wanted to pay double, I could have it done sooner. What a scam! I will never do business with this music store.

This bad review concerns Maria Ferraz, piano teacher. Our initial meeting seemed positive and I felt comfortable with her with my three year old son. To make sure he was ready to be taught piano, according to her, we set another appointment the following Saturday. This time she wasn’t as nice and patient. I was outside the room while she stayed in the room with my son. To begin, my son is three. He is a very curious boy. This particular day he wasn’t wanting to sit and learn. As I peeled through the window, I saw Maria force his little hand to play the piano. My son resisted and just sat there staring up. She then yells at him, “What are you looking at? What are you looking at?” She turned to see if I was standing there and she just nodded her head. I opened the door and grabbed my son.

I also want to point out that she has a lot of pictures, posters, just stuff in her tiny room enough to distract anyone much more a three year old. Also, if she doesn’t have the patience it takes to teach a three year old, then you shouldn’t advertise that you do. And lastly, you have no right to yell at my son or any child who doesn’t have the ability to fully comprehend what is happening, what you are asking, or able to express his emotions with proper vocabulary to answer your ridiculous questions!

Beware of this woman and always keep an eye on your child when you are not in the room.

Had my violin taken in for string and bridge replacement because of old age. When given back they failed to consult if I wanted the gear pegs back on, nor did they fill my request of a new bridge. When taken to a second opinion they stated that the bridge was ready to collapse and was causing issue to the sound post.

A very friendly helpful staff and they didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need.

Bought my first acoustic guitar from this store. The employee there, Eric, was a really awesome and accommodating dude. Very knowledgeable about guitars and willing to help me out with my 1000s of questions. He told me about what accessories would be good to buy as a beginner and was just a great guy. 5/5 experience great worker and great store.

This place is a great place. They are helping navigate being the mom of an orchestra student and it’s a task! They are so nice about helping me figure out what book I need to get him and what size chin rest he needs. They’re super nice.

It’s a good shop with kind staff and great teachers. But it’s missing some TLC. Cello bow options are limited and there’s this huge tent inside that is just in the way

We came in to buy a guitar, and was referred by a different location for more inventory selection. We were the only folks in the store with 1 employee. Although both of us were wearing masks, the employee corrected my mask positioning not once, not twice, but three times in a 10 minute period…. Small face problems and I guess a nostril was showing? Anyway not feeling very welcomed at that point or like they wanted our business, so we left to spend our money elsewhere.

Stood in front of store for 1 hour on Thursday no one there to open. Needed repairs and supplies had to go else where. New management can’t be like this if you expect to keep customers. Music and arts also just opened another “experimental” store dedicated to string instruments. That’s fine, fix your current stores before setting up new ones.

Difficult!!!
While the in-store staff are friendly and you shouldn’t have high expectations because this is generally a company designed for beginner instruments for young children, I was less than impressed across the board.

The “brand new” trumpet we rented had to be repaired within just a few weeks and it was replaced with another “brand new” product. That is just the beginning of the issue.

I knew my card was set to expire and it had been compromised so I replaced it. When I tried to go in store to change the card on file, just as I had done to set it up, I was told I’d have to call customer service directly. I got a letter a short time later asking me to provide all of my card information on the piece of paper and mail it back to the company. Due to security issues and having just had my card compromised I opted not to go down that path. I even attempted to reach out to the company through email and got no response. I later got an automated message from the company closer to the due date and it told me to call a customer service line. I went online and located the number and called the customer service. It was clearly an out of the country representative who assured me multiple times that the only way to provide the card information was to give it to her verbally and she promised it would be secure. I asked about an online account set up so it could be done electronically and was told this was not a feature of the company at this time.

I understand this is a smaller company designed for equipment rental but if I can set up a rental in store with my card I don’t understand why I can’t update it there. Additionally there didn’t seem to be a lot of consideration for security of financial information as the only option is to do it over the phone verbally. This is not a bad company and the staff in store tend to be nice but it’s not a quality instrument, the instrument itself is overpriced if you want to buy out and they don’t seem to consider the security implications for financial records. Accordingly at the end of this rental year / school year we are likely moving to a different company.

You’ll get great, personal attention at either location. Prices are the best and the staff is friendly, informative, and just seem like happy people

Extremely friendly. Good selection of many types of folk acoustic instruments and they let you play most of them. Somewhat limited array of different brands, thus 4 stars. I’m looking forward to doing more business with them.

I am absolutely incredulous as to how condescendingly I was treated over the phone by this place. I arrived with my Taylor 312-CE looking to trade up and quite likely spend substantial chunk of money. I noticed the posting on the door that read (I may be paraphrasing) “masks required even for those vaccinated.” I have been twice jabbed with Pfizer, but no problem. I get it. I understand it. People may not be fully honest about their status and might contaminate others. I have zero issue complying with the policy The posting also read “do not knock; call to be granted entry” (again, I may be paraphrasing, but this was the gist). I keep a KN-95 with me in the car but couldn’t find it. Maybe it fell behind the seat or something. I ring their number. A woman answers. Convo goes like this: “Hi, I noticed you require masks even for the vaxxed, which I am fully, but I can’t seem to find mine here in my car….I’m here outside….do you happen to have any masks there inside the store that you could pass out to me”? (like logical, sensible merchants across town, the state, the country have in abundance in case you forgot or can’t find yours—sterile ones for the taking in boxes) “If not, I don’t live too far. I can run home, grab one and come back”. The woman on the phone raises her voice and says “NO YOU NEED TO WEAR A MASK” and abruptly hangs up!! Um, I think I got that part and more than amply communicated it back. Wow. And delivered with a tone of voice akin to Mrs. Gulch from Wizard of Oz. I was perfectly polite, acknowledged the policy and was willing to go out of my way to comply. This is not only ridiculously bad policy, but there was not even basic intelligible, lucid communication on her part. Not the conduct of a sound minded individual.

Now, for some background. I have never made any major purchases at Folk Shop. However, I have patronized them over years–even before I moved to Tucson. The first time, I was recording an album visiting from Austin in 2014 and needed a dobro capo. The engineer called around to Guitar Center and few other places. They didn’t even know what a dobro was, much less a dobro capo. Folk Shop to the rescue with a Paul Beard capo, just like the one I had forgotten and left back in TX! I’ve been there since for strings, straps, stainless steel slides etc. Never ever the slightest of problems. What happened today is totally inexcusable. I myself have been fastidious and a stickler about masking and distancing throughout the pandemic, but this kind of post-mandate fanaticism, illogic and outright meanness is beyond the pale. They certainly don’t want my money or any of my future business. To hell with this place. l’ll buy a guitar from Musician’s Friend before stepping foot in there, even though I prefer to shop locally.

Very rude disrespectful because I was asking for a part and I didn’t have a mask and I wasn’t trying to go in the place without permission and they were just very rude very very rude and I didn’t understand I was thrown off by it. Yelling at me for no reason all I wanted was a part I didn’t even try to go into shop told her I’d wait outside because I didn’t have a mask she slams door in my face. So I go get a mask and they won’t even deal with me I was the up most respectful and didn’t deserve that. Very very rude!!! I’ll never do business with them again.

Well, over the years I’ve bought, sold, and traded with Paul and really wouldn’t do so again. The last guitar I purchased there had broken tuner barrels and more important, his pricing and moods vary wildly. Certainly lots to look at, but no great shakes in terms of quality or pricing.
