I am a music teacher. This is my go to for lesson books for my students.
Was able to buy a great violin
Organized and clean nice staff they don’t buy instruments
Would not recommend for repairs. I left an instrument to be repaired at this store and was told at the time that the repair would be completed in 2-3 weeks. The repair actually took over six weeks and I received no updates during the process despite calling multiple times and being told simply that it was “in progress”. I paid nearly $500 for play condition repair of a clarinet with repads and cork replacement. Upon return, the cork between the lower joint and bell was too thin preventing a snug fit without air leakage. Additionally, there was an un-repaired crack in the lower joint. Overall, the “repaired” instrument was not in play condition—$500 and 6 weeks wasted. I definitely do not recommend using this company for instrument repairs.
Why everyday is this store closed I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone since Sunday when Google says there open and I go only to see sorry we’re closed sign on the door. Today it says their closed as well.
The person that restrung my guitar did the whole thing wrong and he was saying he knew how to do it and we spent $30 on this and it wasn’t even done correctly he said he knew how to work on guitars but he didn’t even know which way to turn the tuning knobs
Restored my Gibson ga-5 gibsonette to its previous glory after it had been dead for 2 years. Sounds just as good, if not better. Very impressive job, very timely, and communicated with me each step of the way. Definitely recommend!
Tommy repaired two of my amps both vintage classics. They are working better than Brandon as he upgraded many of the parts. I’m so happy to find someone with his skill and expertise.
Can’t say enough positive things about Tommy and his business. He alone seems to always get us in for amp repair or new tubes and bias whenever it’s needed. He constantly keeps me in the loop if any other issues arise and let’s me know if it’s a major repair or nothing to worry about. This is the place to go for all amp needs!
Brought a couple amps and a cab for Tommy to fix, and told I just needed them running. The first amp only required a couple tubes and a cap replaced. I pay for the parts and he hits me with a $500 labor bill (on top of $200 in parts) without even consulting me first. He did a bunch of unnecessary work, basically a refurb, without consulting me. I hooked him up with a bunch of studio time a few years ago, and he repays me with an outrageous bill that I didn’t even ask for. I wouldn’t trust him at all.
3. Music Go Round
Address: 8055 W Bowles Ave #2C, Littleton, CO 80123 , Twin Lakes , Colorado , United States
Have yet to have an experience that was other than very supportive, friendly and informative. Have bought and traded quite a bit and have only positive things to say. Thanks Guys! RaWk
Super helpful and knowledgeable staff, Andy helped me find just what I was looking for, plus having a warranty gives me peace of mind when dealing with anything used
I just recently took my slightly used guitar to this place to sell since I was no longer using it. The experience was fantastic! I originally bought the guitar new with the best intentions of taking lessons and improving my skills to the point where I could play some pop or country songs. It simply didn’t work out for me and the guitar just sat in my closet for a few years. The staff here were friendly and helpful, and offered a fair cash price to buy my guitar outright. They would have increased the amount if I opted for store credit. It was a painless and fair deal overall. They are also very good about requiring an ID and fingerprint at the time of sale. I’d recommend this place!
EDIT: Since my initial review below, Scott (the store owner) contacted me, verified my attempts at contact (taking the time to dig up emails), and made everything right. I returned the pedal and he confirmed that it was a modified unit and refunded me in total. I’m relieved to hear that this is not considered acceptable at their store and would give 5 stars if someone would have contacted me sooner. Many thanks to Scott.
INITIAL REVIEW: I purchased a used Boss FRV-1 reverb pedal online. Turned out to be a bogus pedal with some other circuit mounted in the FRV-1 chassis. The tone potentiometer was merely mounted freely and unconnected to the circuitboard to keep up the false appearance. At first, I only knew that the thing wasn’t working correctly so I emailed them but never recieved a response after repeated attempts. I hesitated to call, hoping I could figure out/find something minor about the pedal that could be easily fixed. I eventually called and was placed on hold and no one picked up. When I got around to opening the pedal chassis up, I found what I described above.
Staff is a great bunch of guys who have a grasp of what’s what about musical instruments. It used to be a good place to sell your used appointment. I would give you a a decent price but nowadays they won’t even give you a price better than what a pawn shop will give you. I’ve noticed in last couple of years their prices have gone up. They don’t negotiate the prices, which puts customer at a disadvantage Because condition is a huge part in what you pay. I will still stop in and check their inventory. But not as often as I used to.
Great shop! You can expect to pay a little more than average for used fear here, but they are VERY thorough with inspections before they buy. You can trust you will get good gear. Use as a last resort for selling though. They will give you next to nothing for your used gear. They have to make money right. Overall, staff is very friendly and helpful and new gear rolls in pretty consistently which is good and bad news for those of us with incorrigible G.A.S.
I implore all parents who are considering using this business for their child’s band or orchestra needs to re-consider and look at other options-and YES! there are other options! (this place works overtime to make you think otherwise!) This place will rip you off! I went with Kolancy’s for my 2nd child’s needs-they are more reputable and professional by far, and they actually care what condition their instruments are in when they leave the store!
No Scott, I won’t respond to you, I tried to have things rectified while at your store and you and your employees couldn’t have been any more dismissive or rude, but somehow now you care? Oh, I see, others can read this. Also, my bad experience happened at YOUR store Music go Round, not Music and Arts. I hope others read Joshua Fenner’s review as well since it perfectly captures what other parents and friends
have said they also endured as a customers over the years. I might have to drive farther for instrumental needs but it is well worth it!
Nice selection of instruments. Prices are on the high side for used equipment. But what really cemented my decision to never go back is that, of the five employees in the store, not one approached me to see if I needed any help. Save your time, money and effort. Go to a different music store.
Do not buy anything used. The warranty is only good for sore credit. They sell you something broken or on the edge of broken and then you can only get store credit. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the used products are poor quality and worthless. I lost $200 to this store. The USB midi port did not work at all, wouldn’t even turn on. The akai mpk-25 controller stopped working properly after one month. I took very good care of these items. I would not waste your time on this scamming “must-be struggling” establishment. Especially if you are serious about music.
4. Music & Arts
Address: 8475 S Yosemite St Suite B, Lone Tree, CO 80124 , Twin Lakes , Colorado , United States
I Love this store. Thank you Jamie for the awesome attitude to customers and music!
Nice people and 1000x quicker than guitar center
Cody T was an excellent salesperson. He knew exactly where the book I wanted was located. He also shared the fact that he recommended that same book to a friend. He was very polite and friendly. I am a minority and a lot of the time people act as if the faster we can pay them and get out the better. But Cody wasn’t that way at all, he didn’t even seem to notice my color. Thank you Cody.
Your one stop shop whether you want to buy or rent or repair musical instruments. They have friendly staff with reliable service and they do have branches at many places in Colorado
Very limited options. Good for beginner or any starter . Cheaper instruments and cheap music stand. Not recommended for intermediate or professional needs :/
Good selection of musical gear, instruments, some sheet music, and other necessities. The rental prices are high – the markup on their instruments is, too- but overall it’s a good store with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Purchased a viola starter pack at a school rental night. Was told it would be delivered to the school within a few days. It is now more than a month later and my kid never got the starter pack. To top it off the customer service line does not answer the phone. I sent an email to see if I could get it resolved and the same day I got a random $30 charge on my credit card. This has been a very frustrating experience and my daughter still has no viola pack!
Very poor experience with lessons. Tried to cancel lessons because we were traveling for the holidays. We missed 3 of 4 lessons before they called and asked why we weren’t coming. We had originally planned on continuing our lessons, but after multiple refusals to work with us (saying “you signed the contract and there’s nothing we can do”) by staff and manager, that’s not going to happen. I wasn’t expecting much as they are technically correct – we did sign, but didn’t understand the auto renewal policy. They can do better, and should.
Helpful staff, but totally under staffed. If you roll in expect a huge line and pack a lunch. It is a very poor experience.
5. Roadhouse Coffee + Ice Cream
Address: 6411 CO-82, Twin Lakes, CO 81251 , Twin Lakes , Colorado , United States
A lovely place to hang out while drinking a DELICIOUS coffee (the different flavor options are so fun!). Views are great and the environment has that classic mountain town charm with a modern twist. We’ll be back!!
Such a vibe! Great drink menu, snacks, and soft serve! Our room at the lodge was clean and cozy, everything we needed for a mini getaway. The owners are so cool and friendly! Highly recommended stopping by if passing through or stay at the lodge for the full Twin Lakes experience. Will definitely be back!
Wonderful service!
6. The Twin Lakes Inn & Saloon
Address: 6435 CO-82, Twin Lakes, CO 81251 , Twin Lakes , Colorado , United States
My dad and I stayed here two nights and loved it. The innkeepers were friendly, generous, and knowledgeable about the area. We ate a great dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed the proximity of Twin Lakes to Mt Huron, La Plata, and Mt Elbert.
The hospitality I felt in this place was unreal and the food was equally as good. I had the mountain trout and fried green tomatoes. Definitely a quaint great stop if you’re in the area. We are staying at white star campgrounds and it is so conveniently located form us. They also let us charge our phones and use the wifi. Loved it!
Hummingbirds
Lovely place for a nice meal out with friends.
Food & drinks: Enjoyed the pork chops and the butternut squash salad. There was also Mac & Cheese for a vegetarian option in addition to the salads
Didn’t stay or eat there. Was in the area driving through the pass, stopped for dinner but was scared off due to the high prices and so did not stay for dinner.
Atmosphere is very good. The restaurant has bar facility. The staffs are good and very polite. Food is also good.
Ne prête pas un prise électrique pour recharger un téléphone.
If there was a rating lower I would give it. The place itself was nice but the prices were not worth the wait and the quality of the food served. Had to make a reservation which was fine but then when we got there and got seated we ordered our appetizer and waited then we ordered our food and waited again. We never got our app until our food was finally brought out over an hour later (and only because we asked about it) and was told it was because the kitchen was busy. With what the 4 tables that still had people there. And the steak wow, if im gonna pay 30 dollars for it at least use a decent cut that isnt on huge piece of fat, and it had no flavor at all. They did try and make it right by comping part of the meal, but wont be visiting there again.
Ghost town.
7. Castle Rock Music
Address: 429 Wilcox St, Castle Rock, CO 80104 , Twin Lakes , Colorado , United States
Such a lovely spot and so helpful! I thought my tuner was broken but it turned out that I’d just tried two dead batteries! They were very sweet fixing it and not charging me.
Excellent!
Great staff. All very nice and welcoming. I have bought a few guitars off them and they were all high quality and good prices. Great teachers also.
Singing lessons for our daughter is wonderful. The process is good, prices are acceptable, and the venue is nice.
The shop itself is cute and quaint, but the selection is only very low end. Nothing of value at all. Not even cheap name brand equipment, but just low end non-name brand stuff. No biggie I guess, and I’m sure their selection is ideal for what they’re going for, but you would think at least one Fender or Les Paul would be in there. Haha! Nope. I’m speaking about guitar/bass/amp selection.
Overall, a good place and great for kids or first time people.
It says castle rock band store but it’s more of a Guitar store there’s no other instruments.
I don’t see why many people are giving this place bad reviews, as I have good experience with it. I take guitar lessons here and the mentors are nice. I do feel a tinge of hostility towards me from the front desk workers, but they do seem approachable. I’ve never gone through a repair before with them, but that’s because I’ve never broken a guitar. If it weren’t from the tiny bit of hostility from the workers I would’ve given this place a five, in my experience and work with them.
Skip this place. Was playing an ukulele and the guy working ran over saying “Ask me if you want to hold anything. That’s why it says it right there on the tag.” I didn’t see it since my sight isn’t great. I just put it back and looked around a little more. During that time he was certainly trying to upsell this girl on some junk because it was “limited edition!” It seems like he assumes everyone who comes in doesn’t know how to handle an instrument. I’d rather hit other local shops that don’t treat their customers like they’re five years old.
Rude staff who act as though you should know everything they know. Sad they have no competition in Castle Rock. TOTALLY lacks customer empathy!
The selection of instruments is limited to a few obscure brands and all of the staff is passive aggressive and rude. I’ve been there three times and regret it every time. I’m done.
