Excellent outlet. Mike is incredibly knowledgeable and has a story or two to tell. Some great stock in there and a bargain to be had. Highly recommended.
Have been coming here for years for guitars, strings and setups; best prices on the west-side for sure. Knows his guitars and amps inside and out, and can speak extensively on mods, guitar history, etc.
Mike is a no-nonsense kind of guy and can sometimes be a bit gruff (see other reviews), but I have always found him to be professional and fair, and willing to give you his honest opinion as well as letting you play some of his choice guitars… occasionally he’ll even sit in and jam with you if he thinks you have the chops.
Michael is the expert on vintage guitars and the market. He can teach you what you need to know when buying, playing, and working on vintage guitars. A treasure! He is the real deal!
Extemely rude staff!!! I will never shop here again!!!
Outrageously high prices, the owner is a total a-hole, and he only opens up shop when he feels like it, regardless of the established business hours listed on the door.
Owner didn’t seem to want my business.

Steve did a great setup on my lefty electric – replaced the nut, perfect intonation and now a joy to play. Definitely will recommend and be a repeat customer. Steve also made it safe and easy during crazy times. Thanks!
I take guitar lessons with Steven every other week and he is the best. I was a complete beginner and he was very patient and just all around an awesome guitar teacher. I have come a long way with his help 🙂 He does repairs around Abbott Kinney and will meet for in home lessons! Highly recommend
Highly recommend Steven. He made such a difference with my Taylor. Got a tuneup and pick up put in.
it sounded great for when I played at the troubadour. Carnegie Hall is next I trusted this man with my Taylor for Carnegie Hall and would agin.
He did it fast and perfectly.

Lauren is a wonderful vocal coach!! She is super fun to work with, very understanding, and was able to adapt to my pace. This was my first experience working with a vocal coach, but she made things quite comfortable for the beginner that I was. I would give her 6 stars if I could!
Lauren Pardini has been a true gift. The value of of her time, knowledge and experience is has surpassed the greatest of expectations. I can not recommend highly enough that you believe in yourself and allow her to help you reach your next level of potential.
Just FYI — I went today and the shop is semi-closed until August 18, 2023 for owner vacation, except for guitar setups. Good business owners take vacations, so I give the store 5 stars.
The best place for musicians in town
This is the real deal. Alex is a wealth of information. It’s what a music shop is supposed to look like, with stuff everywhere and gems all over. Check it out.
Alex is very caring and knowledgeable about all things string. I love bringing my instruments to him and his amazing luthier to spark them up. And the collection throughout his store is phenomenal. Special shoutvout to the Greek bazoukis! Only reason the stars are one shy is my overcautious masky self in the cramped space with an indoor mask rule that is not followed by everybody. I will still bring my instruments to Alex, though. And some strange stringed thing or things on his wall will end up in my house.
A music store run by music lovers!
Amazing instruments and amos here. Owner knows so much about each guitar/amp/accessory.
Was trying a guitar out and was asked to leave if Im not buying. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Beautiful guitars but I dont think Ill come back after that.
Very nice owners, barefoot. I felt an instant connection of our old souls. Filled with rare old instruments. Very personable.
Took my guitar in for restringing (acoustic guitar) and they convinced me to do the special treatment package. Took them 3 days. When I got it back the string snapped right away, when I took it into guitar center they fixed it in ten minutes (new strings) but also disturbingly told me the neck was out of alignment so that sucked. Nice people tho
