We communicated the timeline of events very well and the service I had done on the guitar was SPOT ON. They provided ample paperwork and information.
I thought because of it’s location the prices would be on the higher end, and they bill affordably and appropriately.

I’ve lived in Libertyville for fifteen years and I have really tried to support them. I teach band locally and have a busy professional performing schedule and would love to have a local business that I and my students could use for guitar and band instrument repair, and to buy supplies and equipment. My experience with them has been the worst every time I’ve been in. Their store stock is woeful. Twice I have left nice guitars with them to be set up. The first time I couldn’t tell that any work had been done, but there were little dents on the back of the neck. The next time (Iknow: why?) they just sat in the store for three weeks while I waited. Then when I picked them up (no work was ever done) there were marks all over the cases, as if they had been tossed around. They are rude, unprofessional and totally disorganized. Students I’ve taught who took lessons there (not at my suggestion) learned nothing. Just another jive guitar store run by morons.
Prices are extremely unreasonable not to mention the skinny kid behind the counter called me man so many times I thought I was in a Cheech and Chong movie.

I’ve been using this place for the rental of my daughter for years. The instruments that this place offers are very high quality. Being confronted with the request from my young one to have piano lessons I chose this place too and never regret it. The teacher has been very good for our daughter and we are still staying with her. What is striking about this particular place is not only the professionalism of its teachers (my friends are also taking lessons at Solo) but also the kind atmosphere of the staff. I never felt a slightest sense of negligence or disrespect. My concerns and wishes were addressed. Very happy with the service.

Both of my boys take lessons at solo classic. My 12 year old has been taking lessons for cello for more than a year now. My 6 year old just started piano lessons few weeks back. The teachers are great here, Very accommodating per your needs.

Do not recommend this place. In 1 year we were going on our third instructor. When I received an email to switch my lesson times is how I found out. When asked to just be done and receive a refund for the rest of the lessons that I paid for, I was told NO my son needs to finish with their new guy. I’m sorry but I would actually like to meet the guy first and decide if we even want to work with this person.
The other annoying thing is their total unorganization. Plus you can only pay cash or check. They do not take debit or credit cards for lessons. I don’t walk around with that much cash on me nor do I carry a check book around like my grandma does.
Hunter is the best. He has excellent gear for recording, a nice live room, great mics, and is very fast. He knows what he is doing, and he is a great guy.

This place is great, the owner is an excellent musician with a great heart for teaching students and works with their individual needs while keeping it fun. Great music school and studio. Lucky to have a place like this out here.
I decided to learn to play the guitar at 74! Thankfully I found Hunter and the Music Workshop. This is the most difficult endeavor I have ever undertaken but I am learning. If not for Hunter’s understanding and patience, I would have quit. But as he guides me, I am finding this to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. He is so encouraging. Thank you Hunter. You are the best teacher I have ever encountered.

Was directed to the laptop area, which was without an associate for at least 10 minutes. I had to track someone down, who was busy talking to 6 other associates at the cellphone area, but there were no customers. This is the store you go to if you want to socialize apparently. Literally 90% of the staff was hanging out in groups. Once I found help, the guy clearly was distracted and wanted to get back to his “bros.”
Customer service is gone. Ordered dishwasher (open box Excellent condition) which online best buy states looks like new and includes ALL accesories. Received a moldy, dented and scratched unit with no mounting hardware, or drain hose clamp. When asked appliance department at store about it they said that they’re not sure if I scratched, dented, grew mold in, and lost the mounting hardware and hose clip (2 hours after pick up.) I was thinking they were joking at first, unfortunately they were not. The only joke in this scenario is their customer service skills. They offered me $30 and a mounting kit from a different dishwasher they had laying around, which in their own words may not work with my dishwasher. $30 discount on a $900 dishwasher. Thank you for your help appliance department! Your generosity and kindness will not be forgotten next time I go buy appliances at Costco.
when you sell, for the most part, the same or equivalent products as e-tailers such as amazon and newegg, the only two things you have to offer are a) your customer service b) having the products on hand. perhaps financing and whatnot, but for 99% of cases, it’s simply seeing a human being, and seeing the product in your hands on the same day.
when you manage to screw up BOTH of those, you take one step towards irrelevance in the market place.
i travel for my job and ordered a $2200 projector from this location, which was to be delivered at my home store location in Alabama, the day before an annual party we host, and 2 days before the super bowl. yes, i waited until last minute, therefore i thought “well, better use best buy instead of amazon, that way i can have it in time.”
long story short: they sent it to the wrong state. just use amazon. whoever the poor Slovak accented guy here is was very educated, very helpful, and unfortunately not there when i ordered it. instead, it was some unhappy, overweight guy who was slamming drawers and complaining about his coworkers while making a vein effort to assist. had to ask for 3d glasses 3 times. it wasnt until it was clear that i was going to buy a $2000 product that his demeanor was suddenly chirpy.

I couldn’t have been so fortunate to have purchased my Pioneer PLX-1000 & DJM-S11 mixer. Unfortunately the day I made the payment my bank account experienced fraudulent activity which in turn a claim was created complicating the whole process. Arturo and Francisco assured me they’d work with me through the entire issue. Daniel from accounting was incredibly professional as we conversed via email. Afterwards The DJ Hookup refunded me due to the prolonging fraudulent claim from my bank. After receiving the funds needed I repurchased the bundle. Within 24 hours I received a tracking number. Can’t thank these individuals enough!!
Had a fantastic experience ordering a Christmas gift/Pioneer board from The DJ Hookup. I stumbled onto this company online after the particular board I was looking for was out of stock at the big chains. I was shopping a week prior to the holiday. At first, I was skeptical, but after chatting with Nat from the company on the phone and online, I made the purchase. I even got a digital coupon that saved me more than I originally thought I was going to spend. Then, I (Chrome) incorrectly entered an old address. I called immediately and they hooked me up again. Fantastic service! I got the board in time before Christmas, too.

I bought a allen and heath zone 96 from here just for it to stop working after 3 uses within 3 weeks of purchase and it stopped working. I reached out to The DJ hookup and they told me to reach out to allen and heath long story short its been a week and still no resolution. When you purchase an expensive item I would think the business would take more ownership by sending a new one and them dealing with the vendor than the client specially if its within a month. Would not recommend buying from here.

Classic Violins in Mundelein deserves an absolute recommendation from me for anyone who wishes to purchase or rent a string instrument, be it violin, viola, cello, or bass. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable, and is incredibly helpful in choosing the right instrument for you, particularly in the purchasing process.
I recently purchased a cello from them after renting one for quite a while, and they were dedicated and informative in helping me pick out a cello within a reasonable price range.
Personally, I recommend taking advantage of their rent credit policy and renting an instrument for a while to accumulate credit (up to $1000) to put towards purchasing an instrument.
Overall, Classic Violins is a perfect source for any persons interested in renting/purchasing a string instrument in the Chicago area.

Basically across the street from a Barnes and Noble on another plaza, so you’ll see the drastic difference in price. Great spot, organized and priced well. Helpful staff. Look through your books before buying as some have writing or highlights in them that you might not want. They were kind enough to switch out the books for me when I had that situation happen. The place is a decent size, also has vinyl records, comics and such. Usually have good variety options. I come here every so often to see what new books they have. You can resell your books also which is great.
Brought in over 30 books today and was offered only a dollar! They ended up purchasing only two of my books, and said the rest would go to wholesale. It’s not very close to home, so I let them have all my books. However, I will never go back here again! This place used to be great, but like some businesses, they just want their money. It’s sad to see them go downhill, as they have a good selection of merchandise.

Amazon offers better prices for buying and selling. Their model is to have you wait a long time for an “appraisal” only to offer you less than 5% of original value for any and all things you bring in. Then, because you spent so much time there, they just offer to take the “unwanted” material off your hands free of charge. Goodwill is definitely a better institution to donate to.

I’ve always had a super good experience with Sam Ash specifically this one at Buffalo Grove. I’ve taken/ sold multiple instruments here throughout the years after upgrading and wanting to get rid of my used equipment. I’ve never had any problems (until now) and the staff had always been kind and had always taken care of me. Today I came in to potentially sell one of those said instruments, when I was immediately degraded by management. Not only was I told that the make and model of my bass was not correct information, I was also told that my price range was off and that I needed to do research before trying to sell my instrument…….
I have been playing bass for 18 years now, so to have someone who doesn’t even play, or know anything about basses (he straight up told me he was a drummer and didn’t know a lot about bass) tell me that I am wrong about my own instrument was completely degrading and frankly insulting. He even made a point to tell me that he’s been working in the instrument retail industry for years now, and would know if my bass should be priced higher. I made several attempts to correct him about my instrument, all of which he did not listen too and didn’t even make the attempt to validate. It’s really hard as it is to be a woman in music, so to come here today and be completely degraded and treated as if I had no idea what I was talking about by the staff, was just so beyond insulting and aggravating.
I am always getting Emails from Sam Ash to trade in used gear. I brought in a load of it and they were only interested in complete drum kits, not my 2 bass & 2 tom drums. They gave me $50 for a Pearl snare in new condition and $100 for a Yamaha mixer. I was completely low balled. The only good that came of it was they told me to sell my 60’s vintage mint Ludwig Supraphonic snare online because they could not give me even close to what it’s worth. Sam Ash is not a good place to bring used gear!
I called ahead of time for a product. The associate assured me they had it and reserved one. When I got there, they apparently “sold the kit reserved for me” and I had to spend more money than I had budgeted. there was no discount offered or anything. I am thinking they said that just so they could get me to spend more money.

I’ve seen Ross DJ many times and truth is, he’s more talented than literally every ‘DJ’ I’ve seen at any Chicago bar. Hire him and your patrons will thank you – guaranteed. I never write google reviews but this was worth letting people what they’re missing!

I used Walmart as a pharmacy for over 25 years 20 minutes away from my house. When there are other pharmacies 5 minutes by my house because I trust the lower prices and how they’re honoring the discounts on the apps that I have on my phone like the good RX and I like the quality of service I had tried others before but I was disappointed . not Walmart I think they always lived up to their awesome customer service that’s very important to me.

After remodel: We found just 1 of the 3 items we were looking for. A container we were interested in had no lids on display; a sign said to ask for more. We could not find anyone to ask, looking through half the store. Also, there are more self check out options than cashiers. Looks like this Target is overall self serve, with little interest in customer service. Before remodel: We rated 5 stars. Found what we were looking for: water on sale, storage containers, and wood hangers. Pleasant cashier completed a successful shopping visit.
Credit card got stolen after checking out in the electronics department which has a credit card terminal completely unattended in the back of the store, so and easy target for skimmers
