One of the BEST live musicians I have worked with this season! Deron was a life saver when our DJ was running late and agreed to stay late to help with introductions for the Bride and Groom so they could still have a great entrance! His music was the highlight of cocktail hour!
Great selection of guitars and other stringed instruments for such a small place. Very eclectic selection. owner very friendly and knowledgeable. I was looking for a sax stand, which they don’t carry. But referred me to another place close by.
Small place but good peoples
I like this music store. I think it’s the only good one in Saint Augustine. The renovation also makes it a lot easier to get around in.
Small but friendly, good place for strings , chords, and other stuff. They also offer guitar lessons many styles.
Over Priced!!!
Would be nice if they opened on time. Times on door say they open at 11am. Been waiting 15 min and still not open. Frustrating!
Told me on phone they could restring my guitar while I waited. Got there and they said the guitar would have to be left and they would call when it was done.
Bought the strings and did it myself. On
6. Music Matters Remixed
Address: 196 State Rte 312, St. Augustine, FL 32086 , Villano Beach , Florida , United States
This place is packed full of music memorabilia! Great selection of records, posters, cassettes, collectables, T-shirts, stickers….owner is super nice. I love the Music Matters Midnight Music (madness ) once a month. Various artists play outdoors with food truck & vendors. So much fun! Proceeds go to a different charity each month. Love it!
The owner is really nice, Amazing selection of cd’s and vinyl, and the only thing i disliked was the fact that they didnt have ride the lightning, but they had st anger. i guess people got to the good stuff before me lol
Very friendly and knowledgeable guys, I was browsing here and Eric asked what I was looking for and actually guided me to some casettes that he thought I may like, and I found several winners. The variety, and quality of finds here is insane, they have most all of my favorite rock/alt rock acts from the 80s/90s. I live out of state, but I will be giving this store my business online considering how personable, friendly and passionate these guys are about their store.
Great place if you need CDs but they only have the very basics as far as equipment goes. They did have a peg winder though!
A lot to choose from. Guitar strings, harmonicas, CDs and LPs.
This place is alright. Mix of comics, CDs & records. Prices are on the high end of retail, but it was kinda expected as the area is a really busy tourist area. If you’re familiar with the current market you could find some stuff at a decent price.
Horrible customer service….. just the worst
Would not sell me a record over the phone when they had just one left…… I offered my credit card ….. just hold it for me and they said no….. first come first served….. I was at work and wasn’t going to be out for a while ….. but their customer service was to not help a dude out.
I would never spend my money at this location.
I stood at the counter waiting to check out the employee was with customer the new owner keep walking by with his dog he see me standing there he doesn’t come over to cash me out I waited for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to come over lame service
7. Ancient City Music
Address: 100 N Matanzas Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080 , Villano Beach , Florida , United States
pretty nice place, little dark though. be careful if you see the warden. otherwise great for resources and templates. Shriekers make nice decorations.
I’ve worked with many voice teachers over the years but nobody has fostered both my vocal ability, and understanding of it, as have Ashley and George. I’ve had the privilege of working with both of them and each brings incredible insight.
Recently, I’ve started working primarily with George who specializes in male voices and his depth of knowledge is insane. He’s studied at Juilliard and with other famous teachers, but more important than his laurels is that has had a long and successful career as a paid performer—something most voice teachers I’ve worked with only know about in theory.
Whether it’s been pop or rock they’ve each helped me to learn ways to use my voice and to create music of my own without wrecking my voice (they’re big in vocal health thankfully).
Before them I never really mixed my voice and had some teachers saying I was a bass, others a tenor. After studying with them and learning to mix my voice (something that feels like a literal magic transformation) I’ve learned my true vocal type.
When you work with Ashley you get a diligent and patient analysis of your needs, then a calculated approach to meeting them. George is similar, he knows exactly how to get you to where you want to go, though he’s no nononsense thru and thru (aside from his anecdotes during intervals of vocal rest—which believe me are worth the cost of the lesson on their own, they’re wild and charming and show that he has lived a life full of intrigue, variety and dedicated study).
I can’t recommend these two enough—as people and as masters of their craft.
I had absolutely no knowledge of music or vocal talent when I met Ashley and George, and I honestly had no idea what a treasure they are to the world of music. They knew exactly how to introduce me to music (and sacred music!) I’m so grateful to have their skills and teaching abilities in our community! -Cyndil Duckworth (not Ryan 😉
8. The Fish Tank Recordings
Address: 24 Althea St, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Villano Beach , Florida , United States
Lu is amazing at what he does and a great guy to work with. If you want to take your recording to the next level then you need to go to The Fish Tank. The studio has a comfortable and creative atmosphere. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Lu is a wizzard!!! I can always trust him to bring my songs to life in a way that not only sounds amazing technically/professionally, but also exactly how I envision them to sound! He offers great advice and knows what will sound good in the mix. Best in NE Florida!! Not to mention his studio is so homey!
Bel posto e buona cucina….
9. Tonevendor
Address: 81d King St, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Villano Beach , Florida , United States
We’re from out of town, but each visit to the area warrants a stop at this shop. It’s small, but the selection is great. Some reviews say the clerks aren’t as attentive as they could be, but we’ve not had any concerns with that. Pricing is more than fair.
The record store is well organized and most records are good quality. Prices are generally good for most items.
Amazing indie selection!
Love this place. Didn’t know it was there before a couple of months ago. Dan, the owner, is super nice and really good prices on albums.
Great selection of new music. Incredible selection of electronic/ambient wax!!!
Small shop with a great selection but almost hidden because of the big buildings around it
Terrible. The most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had on discogs. Mistakes happen but the way these people handle it is disgusting. They are arrogant, unapologetic, whiney and selfish. I paid shipping both ways to correct their mistake. Never again.
I was in on Monday July 25th two employees behind the counter. My advice to any business , especially a small one is to speak to your customers say hello, lookin for anything in particular. No other customers in store so the staff just ignored us. We visited 3 other stores in the Jacksonville st augustine area and walked very happy and a freezer bag full of records. I have never had to write a bad review for any business in St. Augustine, it a great town with great folks.
Great store to find vinyl. That’s why my review is 2 stars instead of one. Story time though…
I went for RSD back in April stoked out of my mind to buy some exclusive titles. Called my friend to join me for the camp out starting at around midnight and we found ourselves first in line. 8 am the doors open. When I get inside they already have my selections laid out at the register, and then the owner proceeds to grill me about my selection of Taylor Swifts “the lakes” 7 inch amongst the 100 plus dollar tab I accumulated. Says a bunch of people have been waiting for this, they’d be upset, and was I sure about it. I told him there ain’t no way my gf would’ve let me come home without it, so he rings me up, then puts his hands in the air not wanting to touch my items or bag them. I found it odd, but just thanked him and walked out. My friend completes her transaction but comes out with a completely different story. Owner didn’t even question her record choices even though she also grabbed a T swift vinyl, wouldn’t even let her bag her own items, and said yeah this looks like you (to her selections). To say I felt profiled would be an understatement. This dude made me feel so unwelcome I’m never gonna set foot in there again. A couple months have passed since that day, but as RSD “drops” comes tomorrow I felt compelled to share my experience. On top of that most of the releases for tomorrow are hiked up 5-10 dollars more than the average record store tomorrow. Won’t be back again.
10. Brooks’ Music Studio
Address: 1531 Masters Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Villano Beach , Florida , United States
Been here twice during the day, there are no hours posted and the place looks deserted. Wish I could come by, I’d love to frequent a music store close to home.
11. Cool And Collected Vinyl Records And More
Address: 67 San Marco Ave, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Villano Beach , Florida , United States
I could have spent all day here going through theit records. Unfortunately we didnt have that much time and the space they were in wasnt very helpful in looking thru them.
Beautiful pieces. Many collector assemblies to choose from. My choice was this beautiful 60’s glass tray.
Found some great records from the eighties. It was fun to show my daughter’s the music that I enjoyed. Found a couple of favorites
I saw a lot of nice things, but came across and item that wasn’t exactly vintage. I had one of the vases they were selling for $95+. It’s about 12 years old which I wouldn’t exactly consider “vintage.” They did have a lot of things, and maybe they collect things that are modern just to sell, but they shouldn’t throw the word vintage on everything just to make a buck. The owner never visits the store but had some really cool things that weren’t for sale. I feel like everything in the showcases should be up for grabs or not there at all. The prices on some of the things were really up there. Like vinals you could probably find at Walmart for half the price they were selling them for.
Edit. I did some research on the vase I have like the one in the pic and discovered some very interesting news. It is actually vintage, and worth more than I thought. I hadn’t realized that the vinyls were original either so I’m really happy i got the one I did. I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in st Augustine.
Very well organized and easy to go though records. I have tired of digging and did not have to here. Just didn’t have surf Beach Boys style records. Maybe next time.
Fun place. Sensory over load of “stuff.”
12. STA PIANO
Address: 101 La Quinta Pl, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Villano Beach , Florida , United States
Dave is not only a talented musician, but a very cool guy. I am a big fan and look forward to many more lessons.
Great for all experience levels! I was nervous about taking music lessons, because I have not picked up an instrument in 10+ years but I felt very comfortable here. The instructor was patient and made me remember how much fun it can be to play. 5 stars!
Highly recommend! Positive vibes and fun atmosphere.
16. JAM-OLOGY
Address: 69 S Dixie Hwy Suite A, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Villano Beach , Florida , United States
I had enrolled my daughter in two weeks of summer camp here and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience! I wanted her to experience something different and have a memorable summer experience at the same time as introduce her to a world of music to explore and cultivate her passion for the arts. She has blossomed there and has so much fun! Michael is amazing and brings out the best in children. Will definitely repeat this and add additional weeks in summers to come!!!
My daughter loves Jam-ology. It’s great to see this place strengthen her love for music. What an awesome experience for her and what an amazing place.
I enrolled my son in the Jamology club four months ago to learn how to play the keyboard. I knew it would be a challenge because my son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorder. It was the best decision of my life. My son loves coming to Jamology. Mike, Christian and David (music teachers) make my son feel so welcomed each time he comes to practice. They are very patient, caring and and fun to be around. With the help of Jamology my son has been able to open up and express how he’s feeling through music. My son has also made 3 freestyle tracks. Jamology has such a inviting and friendly atmosphere for all ages and disabilities.
What they say on the website for the camp and what they actually do at camp are completely different also at this camp it’s mostly 6-9 year old not fun most stuff is half hearted if u have a older kid (12-16) they will mostlikly be left incharge of the children most times
THIS IS ONLY ON THE SUMMER CAMP
My child comes home daily complaining about the little children terns out most of the time it’s 6to 9 year olds (my child is 13) my kid complains about basically having to babysit children my kid did not like the age range also mike would always get onto my kid and my kids friend about somthing everone else was doing i WILL NOT BE SENDING MY CHILD BACK
Highly professional very creative..
Knows how to work it into a masterpiece.
And has an excellent ear for professional projects also for what I was looking for in a quality Studio
