My son has been taking guitar lessons for over a year with Terry, and always looks forward to going. We’ve also bought 2 guitars and an amp here. Nice to have this store close to home!
I have been shopping at soundcheck for 30 plus years always have great service it’s actually the only local music store around now so shop local support local music
My fave place in Decatur, IL. Note: Only store of the like in town.
Good service!
Friendly service. Salesman help my husband and answered every question he had and they act like professionals.
Everything, but ESPECIALLY strings and sticks are ridiculously overpriced. John behind the counter has essentially no musical background. Seemingly, those who are more musically inclined work less. The instructors are awesome, but hiring them outside of the store would behoove both the student and the teacher.
If you’re considering trading in a used instrument with them, don’t. Use craigslist.
If you need to buy something new, do it at Linda’s. Better prices and more helpful staff.
REPAIRS. DO THEM ELSEWHERE. These guys will be decent to you on small jobs like restringing or intonation but a simple part replacement can be extremely expensive.
They are the only music store left in town so I try to shop there and support localy..but I was playing a guitar and the owner came up and took it from me and hung it up…no trying to help or assist me ..my sister has said he was rude to her before too. I will be purchasing from online or going out of town from now on.
Every one is always so friendly and helpful. We’ve been taking all our instruments there for years and have done a great job keeping them in great playing condition. Shannon is great at working with you to find a spot that fits both our schedules
I’ve had all three of my Mark VI saxes worked on here. Great people, thoughtful and prompt customer service, and AMAZING repair work. You won’t be disappointed…I certainly never have been!
Have had several instruments repaired and maintained. Always done withe utmost care, expertise, and professionalism.
Very knowledgeable very friendly. They treat us beginners with the same respect concert veterans
Super helpful and upfront with tactful explanation of options for the work needing done

Wonderful place to visit and a very competent curator of vinyl as the owner
Wonderful spot with a vinyl collection you wish you had.
Cool little place. Eclectic and well priced. Didn’t try the coffee but everyone was friendly.
Worth it if you’re looking for 80s, classic rock, or rock. No classical I could see.
A wonderful place to buy records

Not only are they super professional and good at what they do, but they are also some of the greatest people you’ll ever work with. Would recommend Jadestone to anyone in a heartbeat.

In the late 90s early 2000’s this was an awesome store. Used CD’s, Ppl who loved to talk about old bands and music culture, It was different. Mind you, they still have great instrument selection, and fair prices for a small business. Some staff is decent, some have the personality of a week old gym sock. I’d say if your local, pick up your kids first instrument there and support local small business. Idk if the lead dude from x-crush still works there, but he was awesome. but it’s a lottery.
Love going there and stuff but idk if it was one of the employees or just a customer, but this older guy walked up to me and my friend and made a really rude comment about our colored hair “did you wake up late at a party or something?” How the actual heck would anyone think that is an ok thing to say?????
That was one of my favorite music stores to go to and now I’m not so sure, if it were an employee who sayid that. I’m pretty sure it was because he walked to the back after that. If you have colored hair and you take hate comments too seriously, be careful.
I remember your Christmas store at the Mall always used to eye the Bass in the box and now i am playing that a Jazz Bass i bought i am now in Tennessee so thanks for helping with my dreams
My family came in just a few minutes ago and they were very ride to us. My boyfriend, who is normally a very strong person, just walked out of this place in tears because they made him feel embarrassed. Smh. Rude rude employees who act like musical elites.
So you want to call on the dude behind me in line and not even greet me or tell me to have a nice day? Poor way to run a business. The old white guy at the front is rude and inconsiderate. He chose to serve the man behind me in line, likely because I’m a woman, so congrats on losing not only my 42$ purchase I got refunded today; but all future purchases from my multi instrumentalist husband that has been a customer here for over 6 years. I’ll buy from Amazon before giving my money to rude old men. Do better. Hope it was worth it for that dudes 12 dollars worth of strings.

You love playing music, you need to check it out 😀
I went in for a capo. The guy running the store showed me where the capos were, then went to the back to get some more that had just arrived. They had a good selection of gear, and the prices seemed reasonable.
Good amps but they didn’t get down a guitar i wanted to play
Been going literly for 20 years. Decent service. Nice ppl. Definetly has everything a musician would need.
They fixed my bass but I felt like it could’ve been done a lot quicker for what was charged.
Got a “better than” feeling in there. Short, unhelpful answers for my 14 year old grandson.
These guys are crooks. Everything they sell is overpriced, and their services are terrible. I went in to install a new bridge pickup for my electric guitar, and they quoted an unreasonable price for the job. Since I was already there I figured whatever, go ahead. They estimated the job would take about 24 hours to complete. Little did I know “24 hours” meant a month and a half to them. I’m not even kidding. Every time I went in to the store to check, they yelled at me and said “there’s a guy who comes in to do the work, but he’s been just swamped lately. He’ll get it done when he gets a chance”. So 1.5 months later I receive a call, and it’s finally done. I go to pick up my guitar, and plug it in to one of their amps to check out how it sounds. It sounded like something was damaged in the guitar. I told them that there was something seriously wrong here, but they said it’s probably their amp and I should go home and check it out. I went home, plugged it in and it was messed up. It literally sounded like metal springs grinding against each other. The strangest noise I’ve ever heard from a guitar.
When I took the guitar back to them, they were incredibly rude and told me it was not their problem and the pickup was broken. So I was out $130, and left with a broken guitar. I ended up having to spend another $200 to get the whole thing back to playing condition.
I learned my lesson, and have warned all my friends against this store.
unfortunate, but i’d had a guitar in storage for a year and the fret board was a disaster.they did an excellent job cleaning that, however, they took it upon themselves to badly alter the guitar without asking us despite us being there and only explained what they’d done after it was too late. another thing about these “fixes” was that they didn’t address the problem at all! they said the action was too high the lower you got on the neck so they shaved the frets?? they also took some off the bridge, though only to the top, not where the strings rest in it. i’m a novice so i didn’t catch this in store, just paid for strings and cleaning and alterations for $40. value of guitar negatively impacted & i paid for it! nice and nice sounding 20yr old, semi acoustic fender. such a shame, and as i said before i was in store and they didn’t ask! i would get my strings changed there again, though stressing that nothing else be done without consulting me

Great new Samsung phone….great help setting up and transferring info from staff!
Great experience with the Best Buy team. The folks at the mobile phone area were easy to work with and very helpful. Quick service as well, since they were able to have it all done in less than 15 minutes!
Typical. For a Best buy they do a decent job. Everyone looks tired all the time
Nice helpful employees
Terrible store. Don’t like their business model. All about money not customer service. They don’t care about female customers.
The staff seem friendly but when I took my laptop to get checked out the Geek squad member only looked/spoke to my boyfriend who was with me. It was extremely rude and misogynistic. They also said they couldn’t do anything because I didn’t have a warranty with them, however, turns out I did have an apple warranty and it would have taken five minutes for them to look that information up and save me a whole day of stress and trouble. Anyone who is having computer troubles should go to Decatur Computers Inc. they helped me right away and once they found the warranty they did not even charge me for the visit.
Spent $3,500 for a Sony and it doesn’t work and they would not help with a new TV or taking it back or fixing it or nothing told me they’d call me back and they never did
16. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 4224 Prospect Dr, Decatur, IL 62526 , Warrensburg , Illinois , United States
Been doing business with Terri for probably 20 years, always loved the personal service and Jerry is a great jeweler! She’s done incredible work for me, especially on my silver. Good prices, and always willing to make a deal. I recommend this place.
Best Pawn Stars EVER!!!
Great place
Love the staff
Prices on some items extremely high. It would benefit the buyer to compare prices before purchasing.
Would have been a five possibly but blairing music is not needed.
I found my grandpa’s poles that were stolen in this pawn shop, did the police report, called back next day and Jake tells me to stop calling and wasting their time and mine that the poles were not mine because they were pawned by different people on different days, I tried to explain to him the details about them on how I KNOW they are mine and he rudely tells me to stop calling and bothering them. I now since they did not want to work with me to give me my poles back had to put the 3 poles remaining on layway so I can get my grandpa’s poles back. For me to go out of my way and still purchase them after the police report should prove this man they really mean something to me, old poles or not. Now I’m going to end up paying 70$ for poles that were considered no big deal and irrelevant to this worker. He gave me such a bad experience. I will buy my poles back and never step foot in this business again. Very turned off by this whole experience and the fact that my issue was no big deal to him at all and considered a waste of his time. So sad. Such horrible customer service skills, or lack there of.
Over priced garbage
This pawn shop sucks they told me even tho i had the tickets this time i could only make the payment this time but wouldnt allow me to make any further payments on my boyfriend’s stuff even tho he is in prison and its in his name they pretty much told me that we are goin to lose our stuff even tho i had the ticket to pay on it they told me they wont give me another ticket to make futher payment because im not him but every other pawn shop will allow u to make as many payments as needed and if u have the tickets they will allow u to pick up ur stuff im very unhappy with this place and ill make a not to never come back they pretty much stole my stuff
