Super friendly environment, true professionals willing to help with every need. I took my son’s clarinet and Doug was able to fix it in a timely manner . I would recommend their services to everyone. Great people!
I went up there with a drumstick and asked if I could record some sounds on my phone. The guy was hesitant at first but let me do it and even set up a snare drum for me. Super nice guy. Customer service was top notch. Good prices on all the instruments as well.
I love this music store! Always great service, knowledgeable and super friendly!
Chad was very helpful.
Always pleasant – always professional and it’s been that way since I moved into the area!
I’ve read some of the complaints here and I’ve not had those experiences and I shop there a couple times a year. I also understand how smaller music stores value the integrity of their new products by trying to limit maring the guitar finish with picks. You wanna do that you’re right- go to Guitar Center.
First rate staff and ownership and first rate lessons with an experienced staff!
I’ll keep going back!
Great shop for band instruments as well as player instruments.
Good selection of accessories
We just went to this place to rent a student flute for my daughter’s first year in band. My first red flag should have been that they told me they, “weren’t sure” if they would rent an instrument for fifth grade. It kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Mind you- the only reason we went to the store in the first place is because the school gave us a flyer advertising their rental options. We sat and waited for them to “process and pull” the rental and print my rental agreement. A different person than I initially spoke with came out and told me that they could not approve me for the rental. I’d say that their standards are pretty stringent. I have a great salary job on my application. I can get approval for a credit card, a car note, but not a student flute? They collect your card and account info. How high risk can it be considering that they can withdraw my 30 bucks every month? I told the man “You know what? That’s ok, I can have my mom come up here and do it, she has great credit.” He then proceeded to tell me that he will not allow grandparents the rent instruments, only parents. Uh…What?? What difference does it make? What about the kids whose guardian is not their parent? It’s just a bit much for a 30 dollar a month commitment and a 400 dollar instrument. He told me of their rent to purchase option. You end up paying 850 bucks for an instrument that retails half of that and pay more than the instrument is actually worth in a down payment. No thanks. He also offered to sell us one for 250. For a first year music student who may end up not liking band? I think not. We took our business to New School of Music 5 minutes down the road and it was quick, easy, and actually more affordable. My husband is always in the market for another guitar (purchase not rent) and we will be getting guitar lessons for my middle child. We definitely not be purchasing any of our instruments or lessons from Jackson’s.
Overpriced
No inventory.
3. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
The best customer service, the whole staff was just amazing!!! They helped me find a beginners drum set for my daughter. I would highly recommend Musician Warehouse for great deals and great customer service. Thanks again she had the biggest smile On her face.
Muy buena atención
Pretty good shop if you are in Athens. Much better selection of gear than their competitors in the area.
Professional assistance provided.
Nice selection of stringed and percussion instruments. Pretty decent prices, too.
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
4. Music & Arts
Address: 1905 Scenic Hwy N Suite 610, Snellville, GA 30078 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
I had a return issue and whitney helped me solve the matter!! Will be back if ever needed
Friendly and helpful!
Great service
I’ve used Music and Arts for years for my music needs and have always found what I needed. However, the last few times I’ve been have been a little more lackluster as I’ve seen the store get older. The restroom is in disrepair and the fixes seem minor, but it seems that corporate isn’t giving the store the resources they need to properly maintain the store.
The teachers are excellent and this store has been a hub for the community for years. I hope that Music and Arts invests in this store so that it continues to serve the community the way that it has for decades.
friendly staff and very helpful for anything you need for school band
Staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable over the years my kids have been in band and orchestra. This is my go to place out of area music stores.
Aug 26, 2023: staff is a bit aloof (however, Dylan was not, he was very courteous and helpful). I purchased an adapter that was priced on the shelf almost half the price as what it rung up for. When I questioned, they did not honor the price, I showed how this particular adapter was priced as tagged at competitors rather than double the amount that was charged. The other guy shrugged his shoulders, said prices regularly change (which they don’t, I dont appreciate being spoken to as if I know nothing of the industry). I called another location and asked about the same part, the price they quoted was the lower amount. So, I shared this with the staff and after they made a call (there was no manager in duty), they finally corrected the price. 0% recommend. Ridiculous.
placed an order over a month ago for an instrument rental, paid 10$ for 2 day shipping, still have not received the instrument and have received no update as to where it is. my order was not even processed until after i had called to ask about it.
worst place ever, first they say one thing then say another thing about my bills, just lies and lies, meaning i have 3 yrs paying for an instrument that it dosent seem to be paid for, and last month was suppose to be the last paymet and know i owe moreeee thats just ST
Staff is extremely helpful. I didn’t have a clue as to what I needed and they helped me out step by step and offered different terms as far as buying and renting. Offered lessons for my son and advice for the future for when my son’s out grow their instruments. Didn’t even know that was possible but they help you out in every way.
I’ve been going to Allstar for almost 15 years. I bought my first guitar from them, they know what they’re doing, and they’re super nice. I just wish they had strings in more often.
Great teacher. The boys love the classes, and are doing great. Fantastic!
Guy running the store was very helpful and knowlegable.
Great plce.Friendly staff.
John is always really helpful but the other guy gives the cold shoulder alot of the time. Overall though, great store.
I’ve been here 3 times during store hours. nobody at the store go to another shop.
Literally 4:08pm on a Saturday I show up. They were not open. Sign on the door says 10am-6pm. Very disappointed.
Place needs to just close! doubt me, go see what I’m talking about.
7. Turner’s Keyboards
Address: 2358 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30904 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
Purchasing from Turner’s Keyboards was every bit as pleasant as one would hope from a building full of beautiful pianos. Eric was friendly, knowledgeable and not pushy at all. They take the care to find your needs instead of pushing for a sale. The delivery was smooth and easy as well – professional and friendly staff overall. Highly recommend this local shop!
The movers were personable and professional! I would recommend them to anyone!
This is my second purchase from Turner’s keyboards. I got a baby grand piano both times (due to unforeseen circumstances) and I will never buy from anywhere else. Ms Lisa is an absolute delight to work with and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. She is extremely nice and very professional. Prices are more than fair and you won’t feel coerced to buy more than you need/want. She is very knowledgeable of her products and I trust her and her products and she will stand by them!
Friendly.
My visit was very insightful and productive
Good family business. Been in Augusta along time.
You want pushy sales go here
8. Drum & Strum Music Center
Address: 102 Main St, Warrenton, VA 20186 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
Thanks to Tim and Dean at Drum & Strum in Warrenton for giving new life to my grandmother’s 1936 Gibson. I never had the privilege of meeting my grandmother but this guitar helps me connect to her soul.
Dean performed major surgery on the guitar, over came several obstacles, and handed me back a guitar with beautiful sound, perfect intonation, and a pick up so that I can perform with it live. They reset the neck, reshaped the bridge, added new vintage-look tuner’s, mended cracks, and painstakingly stained and sanded certain areas to keep the finishes authentic. I could not be happier with the result nor could I give a higher recommendation to take vintage and new instruments to Drum & Strum for repairs and TLC.
Forever grateful…
I recently called about 15 other music shops to see if they could help me with something simple and none of them could but I was referred to Drum & Strum by one shop. Gave D&S a quick call and the gentleman who answered was very helpful. Nice drive out to their shop from the Manassas area and another individual (different from the person who answered the phone) immediately help and gave a few options. They carry a nice selection of beginner to top end/professional gear. I’ve been playing guitar for about 35 years and professionally for about 20 and have seen how music shops have evolved over the years. I over heard a conversation with a beginner musician and their mom and this shops reminds me of the stores from my childhood where they really encourage and try to help to make sure you’re getting the right information to make the right decision. Definitely a cool crew with a good selection of gear.
Wonderful music instructors! Great stuff to buy.
Don’t ever try to sell an instrument at this location! I had placed a used, but like new Gemeinhardt flute (highest end) for sale there, trusting it was placed on display for over a year at Drum & Strum, but upon entering the store right before Christmas, 2017 (after Thanksgiving through the end of Christmas is when you’d think the item would ideally be on display for sale) the flute was nowhere to be found when I went in to pick it up on December 4, 2017. David claimed it was “in storage” yet he was unable to locate it (he should have rightfully found it on display, for sale on their showroom floor).
Drum & Strum was to receive 25% commission on the sale, but “packed it away” somewhere instead, never to be remembered again. Only God knows for how long it was in storage..could have been since July, 2017 when I last checked on the status of the sale of this flute. Pitiful.
When I went in to pick up the located flute today, all FIVE of the keyhole covers were “missing” (stolen) from the flute! There was only ONE keyhole cover missing when I gave them the flute, as I clearly remember having Drum & Strum look up the cost to replace ONE keyhole cover, which would have cost $30, per their research. I chose not to purchase the one missing keyhole cover, and agreed to negotiate the price instead, if it was addressed by a buyer. These keyhole covers are what retains the uniqueness and value of this higher end flute!
So now, I have not only lost precious time thinking the flute was on display for sale (since August of 2016) not knowing how long it was in “storage”, I now have to reduce the value of the flute by $150 because of the missing keyhole covers. Their gross, unacknowledged mishandling of this flute is just inexcusable.
No restitution was offered for the missing keyhole covers by the gal at the front upon pickup, and only a faint apology was offered by David when he was forced to tell me in person the flute was in “storage” (missing).
Great way to run a music and instrument business. Won’t ever step foot in that store again, nor will I recommend it to friends. Negligence and theft…not a good combination even for a small town store in Warrenton, VA.
But the worst part for me (and potentially other customers) is, never owning up to their responsility by offering zero restitution. Sign of the times…can’t expect much more, I guess.
Merry Christmas to those few out there who still believe there is such a thing as right and wrong, and making things right whenever we can.
Terrible service, have no high quality guitars to buy, I went in there and the older employee just stared at me and didn’t help me and waited for the other employee to help me, one day a customer came in and asked for a left handed guitar for his daughter to learn, and the older employee told the gentleman “don’t buy a left handed guitar nobody has them and your supposed to learn right handed” does he not understand the best guitar player ever Jimi Hendrix was left handed. I refuse to support this store at all anymore.
Disappointing customer service.
I brought my family in to the store in late November to begin the search for my youngest sons first guitar. We told the employee we were not interested in buying that day but were planning to get our son a guitar for his birthday in late December. We also felt it was too personal of a decision to make without him present. We made it clear we were purchasing the guitar just before his birthday in case he changed his mind or lost interest. My son tried several guitars and picked one that we thought was a reasonable price and quality. We asked for the stock number so we could make an informed purchase when we were ready. Instead we were offered a free lesson to help us make a decision. We took them up on the offer for the lesson with my wife and son returning on Dec 4th. The lesson went well and my son still wanted the guitar he tried in November. My wife was concerned the guitar would be sold before we returned just before his birthday. She was told by a female employee that they would hold the guitar. My wife offered to make a deposit which she was told was not necessary, despite us not returning until the weekend before Christmas.
Today we returned to the store prepared to purchase the guitar for my son and pay for lessons to accompany the purchase. An employee we had worked with on a previous visit was unable to locate the guitar. The same female employee told us they had already sold the guitar. There was never an attempt to remedy the situations, find a suitable replacement or any suggestion of what they could do.
Luckily we were able to make it to a different store, talk with knowledgeable staff who was interested in putting our son into a guitar that was right for him. We ended up spending less on a higher quality guitar than if we had purchased the one at Drum and Strum.
In summary, the staff in the store today failed miserably. They lost a sale and potential repeat customer.
9. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
Ex Marine Corps Band purchased really nice case for my stingray bass.Great Price. Thanks MGR
The staff was super friendly giving help when needed and the prices where very good on used instruments
Excellent attention
It’s a really awesome place I love that they mainly have used instruments
Excellent. I couldn’t get a demo on the instrument that I came for but this was not surprising considering it was an unusual instrument(EWI 5000 electronic wind instrument) The staff are great and the inventory is large. Prices are competitive especially if you follow their markdowns online. I got a great deal on this one and it works and looks like new!
Super friendly and helpful staff. The majority of the guitars are accessible to try without needing assistance, unlike GC. They seem to have comparable or lower prices than Reverb. One con is some of the guitars need new strings and a setup.
I’m sure this will be looked at as the “just a bad experience review” but I’ll just lay it out and let you decide.
Monday – Brought my bass in to be setup. Waited about 2 and a half hours to be told that they don’t do setups in house. I was also told it would take at least a day.
Tuesday – called in in the afternoon and it still wasn’t picked up.
Wednesday – had a gig Wednesday night. Called at 1. Asked if my bass was picked up. I was told it wasn’t yet. I responded sayibng that I needed my bass for gig. Do not send it off. I show up at the store at 7pm that night to pick up my bass. The store clerks tell me that my bass was already picked… At 12 and whoever was wrong. The clerk tried to call the guy who does their setups and it went straight to voicemail. He told me that he could rush the setup and could have it back early Thursday. I decided to just to borrow my guitarist’s bass and pick up my bass Thursday.
Thursday – I show up to the shop at 7pm. My bass is behind the front desk waiting for me. I tell the clerk that I’m here to pick the bass up. He hands me the bass and tells me that i denied service so nothing was done with it. I left the shop with my bass in hand and never stepping foot in that shop again. I’m also sending my students elsewhere.
Update: my bass is chipped…
Absolutely abysmal and highly unprofessional experience trying to buy an instrument here. I found an instrument I wanted on the store’s website, and I called immediately to enquire as to its availability. Being told it was still available, I asked if it was possible to hold it for a student of mine who would purchase it pending me as his teacher trying it out. I was told they could purchase it and have it held until I could try it.
The day I had planned to come to the store, I called to inform them of the time of my arrival. They said they could not find the instrument and said it might have been sold, only to later discover that someone had put the instrument in an area where it would be later sent to a repair shop prior to shipping to my student. Fair enough, I guess people make mistakes. I arrived at the store and confirmed that the instrument was in good condition and acceptable for my student. The instrument was slated to be sent out for minor repairs before being shipped to my student prior to the beginning of school starting this past week.
This week, when my student called to ask when the instrument was estimated to arrive, they told them that they had indeed then accidentally put the instrument back on the shelf and sold it to a secondary party, even though my student had already purchased the instrument. Incredible.
I have never witnessed such ineptitude at any store in my entire life. This is unacceptable, and the best I got from anyone over the course of this entire experience was a shrug of the shoulders.
AVOID THIS PLACE.
Went in today to buy a few picks around 12 this afternoon. After grabbing a few, I went to pay for them. The guy in front of me just bought an amp and left to get his car to load his equipment up. I was standing there waiting to pay for my stuff and the guy behind the counter (without even acknowledging me) just walked away. I can’t imagine he didn’t see me. I’ve shopped there off and on for years and I never go out of my way to leave bad reviews, but this place earned it. I teach guitar and used this place for books, picks, and other things. I’m very understanding towards employees in retail and usually won’t make an issue out of most things. But, I was completely ignored and I won’t refer my students to ever go to this place to pick up anything they may need.
10. Ponce De Leon Music Center
Address: 1060 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
Had a couple guitars repaired the work that was done on them was excellent my daughter also took piano lessons there for quite a few years awesome staff !!
They do a great job at repairing instruments
Awesome selection of music and music lessons.
Good place for lessons and instrument maintenance. I have had them work on my guitars several times with no complaints. This last time they replaced strings and I was in a hurry and just paid and left. Getting some fret buzz from 5th and 6th strings that I would have noticed had I checked it out before leaving. My bad. Overall they are great people and do great work!
They did a good job repairing my son’s guitar and were very nice. However, since that last visit, i have called twice looking for audio equipment and have been told twice that the equipment I need doesn’t and cannot exist. The problem is that while I am on the phone, the equipment is in my hand or in front of me and does in fact exist. Its just worn out and I need a new piece. I am trying to save myself a thirty minute drive to a different music store who always have my parts. Please, please just spare me the lecture and just say sorry, we don’t have that in stock.
Muy surtido y los precios muy razonable
Had to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I know it was closing time. I was trying to make it quick. When they started harassing my husband reminding him when they close he left and we took our business somewhere else. Customers want to feel welcomed, not reminded how unfortunate you are to have to lock the door right at 5:00.
The customer service is awful I definitely won’t be back there every again
11. Vickers Music Co
Address: 537 Peterson Ave S, Douglas, GA 31533 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
I love this place,I was rooming the streets trying to find a music store to find size 2 clarinet reed for my 11 year old daughter trying learn the clarinet for band.
Nova was very helpful the vocal instructor Maddie was very knowledgeable. The staff overall was fantastic. Thank you Nova Music for your excellent customer service.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Stopped into the store and although the help was fantastic and has always been with everyone I run into, the inventory is incredibly lacking. From guitar strings, to picks, there’s just not much offering to keep me coming back.
Very helpful and reasonable prices on most things
Owner is a world-class person and entrepreneur
Just went into nova music looking for a specific guitar and they didn’t have it. But they had the American model, and I wanted the Indonesian model very few differences sound quality and color are very similar. Since they do not have the Indonesian model, I asked if I could try the American model which is priced at $3000. The clerk then asked if I had the intention of purchasing the guitar. Told him that I really wanted to try the Indonesian model but they didn’t have it so I tried another prs instead. Definitely not going to give me an experience anywhere near either of the other 2 guitars I’m actually looking at. I dont give the appearence of a dasher but you never know. I could probably out run the 3 children(mine) i came in with and got away with it. I then showed the clerk iwas sitting on nearly 10k in my account and walked out. Never know what kind of a sale you’re gonna miss.
No real incentive to shop here. Prices are high. They will match online prices at best. Staff has zero knowledge of inventory specs. “I don’t know you will have to ask Nova when she is working” is the only answer you will get if you ask them anything other than do you have a layaway plan. Save your time and spend your money at a knowledgeable place such as Portman’s, Deloach’s, or Idlewild guitars!
13. Firehouse Guitars & Music
Address: 612 Medlock Rd, Decatur, GA 30033 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
Great local music store. Pete was super helpful in picking out new gear.
I stopped into Firehouse for the first time yesterday and I was blown away by the amazing people that worked here. I came in with a specific problem – protecting my guitars for an upcoming move – and the two guys working there both listened to my quandary and helped me come up with a solution. They were super attentive and friendly, knowledgable, and seemed to really love what they were doing. The simple kindness that they showed to me has decidedly made me an eternal fan of the store. Not to mention that the two people who were working there both kept their masks on the whole time. I just feel like that’s a show of human decency.
A few days prior, I went to a large chain music store nearby and the employees there just acted too cool to really give concern to my issues and NO ONE was wearing a mask. I mean, halfway through helping me, the employee picked up a guitar and started playing lol. I was like, “bro, I’m talking to you??” (didn’t say that, but I definitely thought it)
Listen. Don’t go to any other store in the area. These guys care about everyone that walks through the door – I can just tell. My only regret is that I didn’t catch the names of the two guys so that I could mention them directly. Show some love to the local guys. You won’t regret it.
Friendly and helped me out on a bulk purchase with the price 🙂
This is a pretty good little store. I bought my guitar and amp here
Rip off.go elsewhere. I use to really like bringing my daughter here but they must be under new management. Prices have gotten ridiculous!!!
14. Pro Music Outlet Inc
Address: 4135 Lavista Rd Suite 210, Tucker, GA 30084 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
This is the absolute best Music Store I’ve been to. Very accommodating of every culture and super extensive knowledge of musical equipment and studio start up process. If you need anything from beat making to recording to djing or even casually listening to music this is the store for you. You can even rent equipment for big parties, possibilities r endless
Very Reliable service! Always have what I need for a great price and great service
Awesome
Amazing service and prices. Gotta love them
Cool people
I shopped with them before. The prices are a little to steep now. Good company for music needs, but expensive.
These people cap Smh. Sold me a 100 mic.
In I end up looking it up smh this same mic is 22.dollars on Amazon. I Took it back right away
Alllllll Cap Over there look up the merchandise prices before u bye
I learn my lesson
Never open, when I visit
UPDATE:
I have visited 4 times, during business hours, only to find a sign saying there are closed for a break.
Great place if you want to buy equipment. Not so much if you want to sell your items . I’ve called the owner about some things I wanted to sell to this location, each time the owner lied and said he wasn’t there or he would call back tomorrow. Very unprofessional if you ask me , if you don’t want to do something just say it .. don’t lie to a customer.
15. Keith Morris Piano Services
Address: 3359 White Oak Rd, Thomson, GA 30824 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
Bought a bass and was a great one. There are other good instruments available at attractive prices too. Thanks for good customer service. I’ll be back if I need anything else.
Awesome music store and a good friend
Love this place!
It is a good shop. Paul is a good guy. They’re are often hidden gems.
I love music so why not got to the nearest music store around me! Well this my second time coming here only for a let down of course don’t try to sell to this guy just by coming in and him looking at it I received several smart comments from him. If u didn’t want it or it didn’t look like the best condition to you politely say SIR IM Sorry but I can not accept it but no he just played on the keyboard and said geez this is terrible condition told me the years like he was with me when I bought so with that being said I WILL NOT COME HERE ANYMORE! You have lost business from most of the Tucker area since middle to the high school music students and I understand why
I was treated very rudely by the “manager”. I refuse to ever give this establishment my business ever again. I buy used musical equipment, and a lot of it, and I’ll never spend my cash here again, no matter how desirable the inventory is.
Guy did not care about my business, did not treat me right, does not care about the questions I asked, made me feel like less of a human, and probably will not care about this review. Do get know how this place is in business..
17. Atlanta Musicians Exchange
Address: 2619 Lawrenceville Hwy, Decatur, GA 30033 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
I very highly recommend Atlanta Musicians Exchange. I took in a vintage Ludwig Acrolite snare drum I bought on ebay that needed repair and cleaning. I received excellent service at a very reasonable price. The staff is friendly and professional. You’re in great hands with these guys.
Great shop and great service! I took a bass drum in for some repairs and modifications and Mike did an amazing job for a fair price. Very knowledgable staff and tons of cool gear in there as well as all the basics a good shop should have. Happy with my experience!
Mike and the team here do great work. Set up and tuned up an old strat copy that now sings without rattling E or crackling jack, switch and pots.
Highly recommend.
I spoke with the most racist person that I’ve come across in a long time, I think it was the owner. My child called the store on the 4th of July (several times because he is a child and did not realize that businesses are actually closed on the 4th of July). I was unaware that he called so many times. The following day I received a VERY nasty and distasteful message on my voicemail. When I returned the call, I wasn’t even given a chance to speak. He was yelling, using profanity and hung up on me. I will definitely tell everyone I know not do business here and I do not recommend doing business here (especially people of color). I will also post it on my social media pages. There are far too many Music stores that actually respect their customers.
After looking at other reviews, it seems that the owner is just a jerk by nature. I didn’t even see any responses to good reviews, only negative ones. So apparently you enjoy tounge wrestling. I feel sorry for the people that have to deal with you daily. Bless you anyway sir.
Update: Every business was NOT closed. I didn’t call my son did several times. You left a nasty vm on MY phone. And who has no class?? It’s definitely you…
Horrible Customer service and NOT HELPFUL!! Instead of helping we with appropriate prices for my gear, I was ridiculed by the prices I thought might be appropriate. A ‘good luck with selling your stuff at those prices’ is all I got. I don’t appreciate the attitude and lack of consideration. All they could have said was ‘those prices are higher than market currently…have you thought of selling them for $$$$?’. Unfortunately the response I got causes me to NEVER want to shop at this place. Sellers BEWARE.
The photo of the wall of guitars is pretty much their entire stock. I’ve seen low-end pawn shops that are less cluttered.
18. Music & Arts
Address: 5213 Memorial Dr, Stone Mountain, GA 30083 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
#truereview store looks out of place considering its location.. walk in and you will live the layout and awesome folks there to help.
Always pleasant staff working. Never a bad visit. They go above and beyond to help customers. I was able to order stick from another location thanks to Kelly!
I brought my daughter here to see about getting the lower half of her clarinet fixed. The two gentleman working were very helpful and professional. We left our clarinet there to get sent off for repairs and while we wait we got a rental clarinet. The process was headache free and quick!
It had what I needed, so that was good. However, the staff seemed like they would’ve loved to be anywhere but at work.
19. Megatone Music
Address: 44b Town Sq, Blairsville, GA 30512 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
The owner is the nicest guy, really helpful and down to earth. The store has a nice array of music equipment as well. In the near future when I try my hand at the guitar again, I’ll be back!
My husband plays guitar. He always checks out guitar stores where ever we go. Megatone has a variety of instruments. Guitar lessons, accessories and repairs. They do carry some vintage guitars. I Highly Recommend checking out Megatone
Nice selection & friendly folks.
Out if business
Staff isn’t honest
Ordered a brand new guitar for a present and it arrived with a scuff. Not sure if it was packed like this or it happened during transit. I sent a freindly message to Megatone Music about it and the initial response I got was that it was a mislabled used guitar, not a brand new one as advertized. Then he said that i scratched it and its not a big deal, my friend will be happy with a present. Not a pleasant expereince. Seller’s responses seem manipulative.
20. Ben Owens Music
Address: 1803 Plum St, Valdosta, GA 31601 , Warrenton , Georgia , United States
Great full service guitar and music shop. Staff is friendly and welcoming. They do guitar and bass lessons and all kinds guitar work. Chase and Greg are both great teachers.
Good service and great instruments.
Small business owners who are good at fixing and repairing instruments.
I didn’t buy anything today but Chase was so friendly and helpful, when I’m ready I’ll be buying from them.
Not easy to find but I was in and out in 5 minutes. They had what I wanted and the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend it.
Garbage
Ripoff artists. Charged $50 for new strings. Said they were Elixirs. I know what Elixirs look and sound. They put on some cheap strings. DO NOT trust these guys. Never getting my business again.
I used to take all my guitars to Ben when I lived here in the mid/late 90’s and it was always great! Not sure what happened, but I will NEVER let them touch my guitar again.
Took my guitar to get a few adjustments. Nothing major. Needed intonation, a small nut spur on the high e, and new strings(which I supplied.) Got the call 2 days later that it was ready. I grabbed it, paid my $70 and took off. I trusted them, so I gave it a quick glance and that was it.
Got it home and pulled it out. Hmm. My Floyd Rose Bridge was uneven, guitar was out of tune, and these were NOT the strings I gave. Tuned it up and the intonation was WORSE, still a spur on the high e, and when I tried my trem it wouldn’t budge. Wth.
Opened the back and they had BLOCKED my trem, not even a good blocking as the bridge was uneven. Didn’t touch the nut, didn’t even attempt intonation, and to add insult to injury they stole my NYXL strings. Including the extra set in the case.
Shameful how far they have fallen.
