What a lovely little shop! Large enough to be knowledgeable and thorough, but small and intimate enough to be attentive from the moment you walk in the door. We worried that we would pay more of a mark-up for violin gear in a brick-and-mortar store, with so many online retailers, but the margins were so slim, and the ease of having things in-hand that day made many of our purchases from M&A the obvious advantage. Free to browse and “play” all we want!
I used to come here as a kid when I was learning guitar. Came back after all these years and they still give good vibes and friendly, helpful staff.
Lessons are awesome with even better teachers. Bought a real nice epiphone guitar here for a decent price.
An error in judgment when I decided to place an order for them to send out my two guitars I STILL to this day can’t string myself worth beans. Decent store for the most part but what really got me sore was the fact that the clerk said that they send their instruments out to a repair tech in E. Hartford but then found out that for whatever reason they have to send the guitars to a tech in BOSTON and the woodwind and brass instruments are the only instruments they ferry back and forth for repairs to EH. Misleading and wonder if it were intentional or whether or not someone else over there neglected to tell him that the different instruments get repaired at different locations. Not my fault I didn’t get the right info but certainly my fault I opted to not take my precious guitars back before the start of business last week so I could either try once again to string them myself or have someone else nearer to me I’d forgotten momentarily about do it for me instead. Ideally I’ll see if I can learn the proper way to string them from now on to save on the cost and also to not feel helpless and at the mercy of someone else whose repair shop happens to be out of state yet.
Will never take an instrument there for repair again. They still have the instrument after more than a year, cannot give me an answer as to when it will be ready & don’t seem to care about customers. Repeated calls and visits only result in messages left for manager who never gets back to us. Seriously think twice before ever purchasing or getting service at this store.
The details pertaining to the boxes in and around the location are not what I am interested in anymore. Absolutely in poor taste to remove something biodegradable without thinking. I’d give it a 5 star if the app let me!
Rented an instrument for my daughter for the year in order to take advantage of the free summer deal, since she loves her instrument and wanted to keep playing over the summer. Somehow the associate made a mistake in the paperwork and we received a bill in the mail. We called the store when the bill arrived and the man we spoke with was extremely condescending and would not make good on the arrangement we had made. Will not rent from there again next year.

It’s Best Buy, one of the few places left to experience home electronics with out having to order online. I have never had any problems returning any items that I purchased for them and their store staff is knowledgeable and attentive to your needs. Their prices are competitive and I’m sure you could find cheaper options online but if you want a first hand look at something before purchasing, this is a good place to look.
The best location of all, you will not look lost because they are quick and well educated on the items in the store. I believe they really perked the store and got the right people that love what they do!!
They had what I needed but the staff acted like I was dumb. My son saved money for a gaming pc and I took him to get it. I asked a few questions making sure my 9 year old was getting something crappy and the staff member acted like I was wasting his time.
It’s a hit or miss with customer help here. A lack of inventory also.

Not a great place. No longer live up to their name. I can find better buys almost anywhere else. Not feeling like a valued customer when I walk in, like I have in years prior, no one asks to help you. I get attitudes when I return things. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
They had a lap top i wanted to purchase but when i went to buy it they didn’t have it in stock. So i chose to purchase another one and didnt have that either. The sales person wanted me to buy the floor model. No thanks, take the items off the floor if you dont have them in stock.I came along ways to best buy for nothing. Now ill make my purchase on Amazon.
I had bought an insignia rugged speaker for my dads birthday and bought it 10 days before. By the time he got it and opened it STILL IN THE WRAPPING no radio stations ever came in. Tried to return it or at least trade it in for one that works and got no help and was refused. Terrible customer service, if they can’t stand by what they sell then I will only shop on Amazon for now on knowing that I can always return if it doesn’t function like advertised. Disappointed with Best Buy. Will be directing everyone I know away from Best Buy if this is not resolved

We are new to the area and we’re pleased to have found this music store just around the corner. The customer service by telephone and in person was excellent; I spoke to a Chris and a Ruben, both of whom were gracious and helpful.
I had my 40-year-old folk guitar re-strung and re-conditioned for $25! To boot, Ruben was kind enough to tune my guitar on my way out of the store.
It’s rare to find a Music store these days. It’s even more rare to find a store whose staff provide such professional customer service. Will definitely bring our other two guitars in for servicing.

I have condensed my original rant down to the following- we really like our children’s teachers- but the front desk needs saving
Very poor service. I had gone few days ago to order a rental violin size 1/16 according to my son teacher recommendations, and a violin for my wife. This week I received a call letting me know that the violins were ready for pick up.
First thing I was told when I arrived was that the violin 1/16 was not there, after I told the associate I have received a phone call, he went to check again and sure enough he found it.
He mentioned that the violin ha a tag outside saying it was 1/32, but that it was a size 1/16 because it has been measured.
He proceeded to fill up a rental contact that I signed, however I suspected the violin was indeed a 1/32, I then open the violin box and inside the violin there was a mark for 1/32 size.
I mentioned to the associate that I thought the violin was a 1/32 not a 1/16. He was visible frustrated and said that his manager had I don’t remember what degrees in music and that he had measured the violin ant it was a 1/32, he then told me that I could check online the dimensions for a 1/16 violin, which I did, and sure enough the violin was a 1/32 according to the measurements they have online. I told the associate that I preferred to wait, he replied that the contract was already done, I said that I did not care, because I wanted the right size violin. All along this discussion the associate attitude was extremely rude.
I would not recommend this store, however unfortunately there aren’t too many options available.
The worst company in the world!!!! If I can give anyone advice it would be to stay away from this place. Their thief’s and I will never do business with them again.
Make sure you ask questions. I signed my son up for instrument lessons over the phone and the woman asked me if I preferred West Hartford or East Hartford. I chose the one closest to my home, on the day of the first lesson, I brought my son to the store for the lesson and they tell me its an online lesson. An ONLINE lesson? No one ever said a thing about an online lesson and why would you ask me which store Id like to go to if the lesson was online!?
