Great place to go when you feel like going to town
Great!
It’s Dollar General it’s not special quick easy and convenient though.
Its a good little store, its a little crowded but i just think they get in more product than they have the space for. Id choose to get small groceries their than at Hudds anyway.
Very organized, clean
Well too be honest one worker cannot put up stock and run the cashier.Thats why everytime I go in the workers have changed that store is full of stock that needs to be put up before they fall and get hurt. And I know why you don’t have more workers because you don’t want them too get 40 hours and then that means benefits.Get more help.
One cashier waited 45min to check out
This store is a constant mess and always out of something. There were almost no cases of water. The aisles are always cluttered. The cashier made the excuse of getting ready for inventory, but it always like this.

Unique shop. So many things to look at. Owner/operators are very friendly and helpful. I love these places off the beaten path. Will definitely hit this place up again when I’m passing through. Plenty of curbside parking available.
Great variety..very friendly..neat …handy location..
It’s a wonderful place ran by wonderful people!
Large selection of antiques from a variety of vendors in an unassuming location. Nice selection of Wedgewood, milk glass, as well as a few local goods and products available.
Cute place
Wide selection of antiques, collectibles and local goods.
3. Redbox
Address: 31101 AL-25, Wilsonville, AL 35186 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
Very friendly customer service, and they worked extremely quickly to get my order shipped. Definitely recommend using them!
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Awesome store and great customer service.
Usually get good service, but I took my guitar nut to be repaired after my guitar took a spill. I let them know the guitar had fallen and hoped they would fix. The nut was replaced poorly but the guitar had a buzz. Took it back 2 more times. The last visit, the person in charge of the repair (2 weeks later)said I had heavy fingers and raised the stings to a height that made the guitar unplayable. I took to another repair shop and they repaired the nut replaced by Bailey Brothers found a couple of uneven frets repaired the frets adjusted the neck and had to re-setup the guitar from the disaster repair at Bailey Brothers. If in need of repairs I will never return to this store.
I needed to buy instruments for my Middle School kids. They were very upfront with their prices and seemed to have the best deals.
Helpful and kind! Will be back to see them soon.
Dishonest, and disrespectful. While I’m aware they have an “all sales final” on used gear policy, it is their responsibility to properly inspect the gear they take in and not sell something that is damaged internally (in my case, a guitar amp). Idiot salesman also had a smug grin on his face the whole time my brother and I were having to deal with it (all 5-6 hours) and was making snooty comments back and forth. In a nut shell they sold me a dead amp and then laughed in my face about it. If this is how your business treats customers, don’t expect to be a business for long. I attempted a purchase with Bailey Brothers about 8 years ago. Was not a pleasant experience. This one wasn’t either. Rest assured, that’s it. I will not be back.
Update: Hey the owner called me just to prove they really do not care about customers. Tried to minimize what happened, and basically acted exactly like Keith did. Also a robotic “I apologize but we’re not going to do anything to fix it” does not count as rectifying anything. Gee wonder why the Southside store closed! Oh yeah and if you have a bad experience with them and they don’t own up to it they’ll do like any typical teenager does and tries to badmouth you on Facebook, then stalk your page. Very mature. Screenshots are great though aren’t they?
PS: Oh and buddy, if I were mad and desperate to pay my rent, then why in the heck did I buy a $700 amp from you? Nice try.
I would use profane language, but it would not adequately describe the crap this company pulled. Basically, I took my brother to trade a PRISTINE first-owner amp, and we could prove it, in for a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, used, which is of equal value….and my brother coughed up $100.
I took off work to take him to initially buy the thing. I took off work to bring it in for repair when we discovered sticky crap on the power tubes, and I ended up working until 10PM thanks to these guys. They wanted me to take off work again, after having spent 5 hours in their store. I basically spoke up and said, he might be the customer, but I’m the wheelman, and I’m furious. I mentioned the fact of the wasted gas, wasted trips, and the at least 6 hours of driving they were expecting of me.
They checked OUR amp out very thoroughly, and even treated my brother like a criminal, saying they are getting his DL in case he stole it. SERIOUSLY people….
I tried to talk some business sense with them, asking them to do something for the trouble, and it would not have taken much. They said no. Then I asked if they can just reverse everything since ALL of the stuff was still in the store…. The guy made up a story of a law, which actually doesn’t exist, then claiming he has to charge extra to reverse it all. Guitar Center evidently doesn’t know about this (fake) law.
Not ONLY that, but the smug, d-bag attitude that the guy gave me when pushing my brother, his CUSTOMER aside to say “you don’t think we’re trying to rip you off do you?” He did this to put me on the spot, and tried to make me look like the bad guy.
In the end, my brother spent another $170 to get a new model. In the end, he got what he wanted, but we are both appalled by how the guy behaved to our faces. Beware, their used gear has NO warranty, but they represented at sale that they would ensure the gear works if something went wrong like the day we get it… Well… it did.
You don’t take someone’s $700 amp + $100 and then give them junk, and not try to do something proper after dragging someone thru hell. That’s the bottom line. I tried more than the guy at this store. You won’t catch us in that place again.
Considering the tens of thousands that my brother spent with other companies, Bailey Brothers missed an opportunity… Not good business. Dishonest, rude, and outright condescending. Smiled at us when we expressed our frustration with the runaround….
manager and owner very racist!
6. Art’s Music Shop, Inc
Address: 4647 US-280, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
Art’s is a lovely music store with a huge selection, and everything they had in stock was very high quality! Jay, Taylor, and Stan were very helpful and very hospitable; the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming!
Super helpful!! I needed some help with the pegs on my violin. Not only did they fix the pegs, they also tuned it for me, got a better fit for my chin rest, and helped me find a neck rest for around $20. Definitely going back here if I need anything else!!
Great place to go.Got my new clasical guitar there.
Nice; they’ll order in for u
Friendly & knowledgeable but took longer than expected to get instrument serviced. I was told would be called the next day with estimate, & it was 3 days before I received the call. I told them I had to get instrument back by a specific date for a performance, he said “not a problem”, I was calling them to get it back 4 days before performance, & was able to pick it up the day before it. They kept it for a month, & I was never able to speak directly to guy doing service which was not cheap. Don’t be in a hurry when dealing with them!
Attended a Breedlove Guitar Showcase. Art’s Music Shop in-store acoustic guitar lineup includes Breedlove, Michael Kelly, and Yamaha.
SCAM! Just buy an instrument off Amazon with Affirm or some other if you need to make payments. The markup isn’t justified by the TERRIBLE and antiquated policies and customer service.
AVOID! THIS IS A SCAM!
You should think about buying an instrument from another source, this place is a money pit, will find ways to charge you more than you should have to pay. They have in-house repair but will charge alot for any normal wear and tear, when you turn in a rental instrument after just 4 months rental. Ended up spending around $500. Should have bought an instrument elsewhere and would have owned it for that amount. Wish I had listened to my intuition. Lesson learned.
No se los recomiendo, es mejor comprar en online
7. Homewood Musical Instrument Co
Address: 1712 28th Ave S, Homewood, AL 35209 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
Bob, Jason, Matthew are all incredibly kind humans. Music has been such a big part of my life, my first day of life I was in a music store. They helped me revive that today. Thanks so much guys!!!
Great service!
Nice people work here I’m a traveler and came in with little funds and they made sure I had something worth my time and money before I walked out their door
Good product, Good service.
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.
8. Gadsden Music Company – Birmingham
Address: 4524 Southlake Pkwy, Birmingham, AL 35244 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
Great company & anytime my son had an issue or questions regarding his instrument they were more than happy to provide prompt assistance.
Great quality service, friendly and knowledgeable.
Very helpful and knowledgeable about musical instruments.
Nice little music store for concert students. Not much in store selection but they can get what you need. This is not a guitar center type store.
Overall good store, but lacking in some instrument accessories.
They fixed my trumpet well. A probably what is scored 5 stars if the repair was the same day.
The rent to own program is an absolute scam. Staff is rude and misogynistic. Buy used on Facebook before you agree to whatever shady deal your school band director serves you from Gadsden Music. The “resale” on that 1400$ trombone is $200 and you’ll pay $600 in interest. Scam scam scam.
The Birmingham location is by far the RUDEST place I have ever encountered! The staff is HORRIBLE (outside of Ms. Carolyn Gadsden)! Whenever you call they don’t seem interested or concerned with conducting business. My child’s instrument was in the shop for over a month. I left several messages and emailed only to be told they stopped working on it and needed my credit card info first. When the rep visited the school, I was given a flyer that clearly states the instrument will be repaired and then you are to pay. I am highly disgusted! My child’s grade has been effected as a result of the long wait times and the staffs inability to effectively communicate with its customers. DO NOT deal with them if you have other options!!! Smh!
I was looking for an instrument on a budget and they said they didn’t in a rude manner and while walking out, I heard them laughing at me. Absolutely disappointed that people would treat potential customers in such a manner.
9. Nashburg Recording Studio
Address: 301 Melba Ave, Childersburg, AL 35044 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
Good people, very nice environment, and great prices!
Very nice shop with nice owners. Helpful and kind. They also have some keyboards, drum stuff, school band parts. It’s a small shop but lots of heart. I picked up some strings and pics. I would go back.
Unlike the big high volume stores that are only there to push products the sales staff are always willing to take the time to offer assistance.
Nice selection of new and used guitars. Needs a jam space though..
Nice people. Nice selection of guitars and gear. They have a lot of strings to choose from.
Have a decent variety of all different kinds of cords and instruments and the guitars rule great prices too. And the lady in there is always super sweet
Accused me of taking out a screw, when all I asked was for the value of what it would cost to fix that. I fixed it myself 16$ out of my own pocket for a new screw, set of strings, and labor on my workbench at home. I thought about going to small claims court, for not selling me a guitar in the condition they claimed on reverb. I’d been looking for this guitar for a while, I didn’t want to just return it. I just wanted it in the condition that I saw it in and felt insulted when they instantly made me out to be at fault even after sending pictures moments after receiving it from UPS and to top it off I even have video of when I first opened it on the CCTV at work. Overall poor online experience.
WAS our trusted source for guitars and gear.
Took in a Seagull acoustic to have the battery and strings replaced at the end of December 2020(only having someone else do it because of the value of the guitar).
The battery went dead MUCH faster than normal (usually takes 6 months). We are very aware that leavi g guitars plugged in drai s the battery. That was NOT the case here. We took it out and found they had installed a promotional Progressive Insurance smoke detector battery in it. Instead of what we are used to getting, Energizer or Duracell. I called and was told that we should have told them we wanted a better battery. It cost us more than $30 for the strings and a battery replacement. No offer to replace it. The lady said they just use whatever is “handy”. I don’t pay for what’s handy. So much for being Pro’s. If the lady had simply apologized, that would have been the end of it. I wasn’t looking for anything other than to let them know that a substandard battery had been installed. When we brought it in initially, we asked for the strings to be changed and the battery replaced. No one told us at that time that we weren’t being charged for the battery, just that what we asked for was $30, if I had been advised of that I would have either asked for a better battery or brought my own. I hung up when her tone told me how disgusted she was that I called with a problem. As for my other reviews of other businesses you mentioned, I review honestly and fairly. If you notice, I have many very positive reviews of several companies in the area. I managed customer service depts with 4 Fortune 500 Companies in my career. Again, I wasn’t asking for anything except courtesy, which was unfortunately lacking. The lady I spoke with had a “how dare you complain” kind of attitude. (modified for clarity based on the reply from the company)
I will never set foot in this place again. Not that they will care. Thought I would give it another chance after several years. Nothing has changed so now I know for sure.
11. Lisenby’s Music Shop
Address: 831 S Memorial Dr, Prattville, AL 36067 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
My son has loved his drum lessons here. I couldn’t have asked for someone with more patience and encouragement to teach him. What I love the most is that my son can have lessons during the weekday since he’s home schooled. If your child wants to learn an instrument, no matter what time of day you want to schedule lessons, this is a great place for it!
Good folks
Lance and Tracy are nice folks. They have a good selection of strings and accessories. Neat place for obscure instruments.
12. Ron Partain’s World of Music
Address: 1914 Cogswell Ave, Pell City, AL 35125 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
Great locally owned shop with very friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Great experience every time!
It’s a shame places like this will be going out of business soon. If they would have what I needed or was interested in like certain pickups or more interesting pedals and better guitars this would be an awesome place the last time I went in there the walls were filled with Nashville guitars and they had a couple good electrics but literally every acoustic guitar hanging on the wall was a Nashville guitar and I was looking for a Taylor or Martin but I’ve never seen anything like that in that store I go there to buy picks and strings but that’s only because they don’t have a guitar store in Talladega. When they don’t have pickups I need they asked me if I want them to order it but in this day and age I can just do that myself and get it for cheaper because looking at the price of the looper pedals they’re not buying them wholesale they’re buying them straight off of a website and marking the price up.. The people are super nice I hate giving a three-star review but I’m just being honest.
It’s a standard small music store. There aren’t a lot of new high end instruments here, but they are all very nice folks.
Nice place. Good selection conveniently located.
Walked in today to look around and from the moment I walked in the door, the older gentleman (I guess the owner?) had his eye on me and was watching me like a hawk, made me feel unwelcome to be there. He asked if I was looking for anything in particular and when I told him very politely he didn’t have what I was looking for he arrogantly told me “I opened this store in 1973 and everything you see in the store is priced the same as you’d get it online” like ok bud I wasn’t complaining about the price you just don’t have what I was looking for. When I told him I wasn’t looking to buy today, and was just looking around he made a sarcastic comment about “well if you’re not buying, we can just put this back on the shelf” ??? I continued to walk around and look at some more product and he continued to watch me like a hawk until I got in my car and pulled out of the parking spot. All of my musician friends have recommended I don’t frequent this store, and I can honestly say, after that experience, I will not and will tell anyone that asks not to either. Lousy excuse for customer service.
I read reviews for this shop and thought it was an honest place to sell my gear. I walked in with an Epiphone AJ 220, with an Epiphone molded hardshell case I bought seperately, and an Epiphone “Snake Pit” 15w practice amp. ALL in like new condition. She plugged the guitar in and it was only the fourth time it had ever been plugged in. I never put the guitar in the case without wiping it down first. Look everything I listed up for yourself, and you’ll see what I lost. I messed up and let the lady know that I was in dire need of money for my family. The old guy asked where I bought it, and when I told him, he said he’d lost alot of business to “places like that”. No. I looked around the shop, and all he had was used gear that had been repaired and put up for sale. Junk. My guitar was the nicest instrument there! The reason he’s losing business is because he’s trying to sell junk and beating people in need out of what their instruments are worth. The lady acted like she was on Pawn Stars! If I hadn’t had needed the money really bad, I would have told her where she could stick her $200! That’s all they gave me for everything I brought in. Look up the items I listed, and you’ll see I did my part to support this business! The reviews I read must have been friends of theirs, because they definately misled me. Not fair at all.

14. Ellis Piano & Organ
Address: 1550 Montgomery Hwy suite a, Birmingham, AL 35216 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
Stopped through on a long trip to see a couple of digital keyboards I wasn’t finding elsewhere. Very very impressed with all the staff.Jason was great getting info to me via email about what they had in stock and when I arrived David in the digital boards was extremely helpful in helping me to weigh out different options. They also have an incredible selection of grand pianos. I’ve lived and traveled and performed all over Eastern USA and can honestly say this is an exceptional store.
EXCEPTIONAL customer service! SUPERIOR knowledge and experience! They have the best and most diverse selection. They’re not pushy. They will help you find the right instrument for your budget and your needs.
The staff was friendly, and they have tons of pianos and other equipment to choose from. The space is enormous, and is fun to just browse. They also do repairs. Call or stop by for any musical needs. Would go again.
my experience was questionable. they decide who they want …
Nice, helpful staff
15. Fretted Instruments
Address: 2906 Linden Ave, Birmingham, AL 35209 , Wilsonville , Alabama , United States
Outstanding. Not only top choices in acoustic instruments, but Herb is a genuine craftsman who can set it up right. He helps customers find the best instruments for their interest.
