I love this shop. They have books, jewelry, household goods of all kinds, clothing, shoes, baby and childrens clothing as well. Everything is clean and organized, and I can usually find a book or two…..or three or four!!!!!
Genuine people working to make ends meet!
It’s a fairly nice 2nd hand.
This place is ran by people who care about others.
Carries used clothes at a decent price, kitchen ware bedding and other slightly used items
2. Redbox
Address: 801 S Main St, Yuma, CO 80759 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
Great little small town down home place, great service, friendly staff & patrons. Owner has even bought the bar a round of shots. If you’re looking for nightlife on a weekend in the very far Northeast Colorado, near the KS/NE boarder this place is a must.
Got the Hawaiian burger really good, great seasoning, and the service was awesome. Definitely will be back
Also, I got a Paloma very well made
The place was nice with a wonderful atmosphere.
Prices are a little steep. Almost $50 for 2 burgers, fries and one margarita. I find that a bit pricey but I suppose for a small town dinner out, that’s what you get. Service was awesome and the food was good but nothing spectacular making it worth such a high price. Not sure how soon we will return, if at all.
Owner owes me a tombstone drink but its ight for a country bar
It was great no one knows anything
The owner was very rude. He was spewing outrageous conspiracy theories and was trying to insult me for being a Democrat. Also the beer was warm.
It is a dump. It is filthy, managment was stumbling drunk, no food offered, liquor license should be revoked.
5. Fretworks! Music Center
Address: 1150 S Castle Dome Ave, Yuma, AZ 85365 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
Treated very good, and got what I needed. I would recommend this to other!
Really appreciate the teachers and their skills. The time they put in for their students is great.
Incredible store! I’ve been there a number of times and the staff is always friendly and helpful whenever called upon. And there’s a great selection in spite of the small space. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for musical instruments, equipment, and instruction books.
Brought a guitar yesterday, it was painless. I believe the sister was at the helm. Forgot a couple of things so I will be there on Monday. So far no worries. Everyone whom I spoke with made sure they were attentive to my needs. Thanks for the help and I look forward to your continued support.
Brought in my guitar to have it looked over due to a one note fret buzz. Took twenty minutes for a tech to suggest for another tech take a look. He was to busy helping a paying customer and i wasnt spending $300 so I left. Techs couldn’t even give me the damn correct Grovers for my Dean. Can’t help a fellow musician unless you pay the outrageous tune ups and setup fees.
Yuma needs a mom and pop music store not a franchise
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
LAST FEW VISITS HAVE BEEN ENOYABLE. THE OWNER WAS PLEASANT AND NOT PUSHY. MUCH BETTER INTERACTION WITH GUITAR TECH.
I WOULD RECOMMEND A LOOK AT A MINOR REPAIR TECH. FRET LEVELS AND WIRING SERVICES WOULD BE GREAT CONSIDERING YUMA ONLY HAS 1 TRUE MUSIC STORE
CHARLES G
I recommend visiting Lisa Store.
One guy noodling in front of guitar selection.
Lady in there was not very helpful and condescending i asked for a specific item and not her opinion. She shut down and told me to order online after telling her i still want the item. I wouldn’t waste another second in that store
Not friendly and was told to keep hands off of everything. You just lost two sets of lessons for our boys. Goodbye …. we would’ve bought. Customer service is number one. Period. I’ve owned my own business. You need to connect with the customers.
6. Alpine Music Exchange
Address: 3997 Evergreen Pkwy, Evergreen, CO 80439 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
A great locally owned music store with instruments and a great selection of used vinyl!
Fantastic service. Superior people. Love these people!
Such a cool shop and really nice people! Love this place!!
I have purchased a few guitars from here.I love thats it is community owned, the owner works the counter most days, he is a good guy who lives to share his passion of music
Also has a great record selection for sale!
He does great guitar work and setups! Great prices for service and some used gear. The best music store in evergreen for sure. Nice guy, helpful, knowledgable, great guitar tech, and they have a decent selection of used and new gear. Worth a stop in! I take all my guitars to him and he does as good or better than anybody in Denver for a better price.
Tons of awesome used CDs and vinyl.
7. Jimmy’s Music & Supply
Address: 1239 Main Ave Ste 101, Durango, CO 81301 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
This music shop is little but has so much amazing product. Great staff that is helpful and knowledgeable. Store is moving, can’t wait to see the new location.
Amazing staff, amazing store. Come take your time and have a look around, or dash in and get what you forgot for your main street gig, they have you covered.
The only place I’ll take my guitars for a spa day.
Ask about their custom amplifiers while you’re in, they sound and look great. A worthy addition to any music making arsenal.
Healthy blend of used vintage gear and new product.
I would say little to no price difference between this and Amazon on any quality music gear (the $7 guitar strap from Amazon is gonna perform like a $7 strap), and here you get what you need immediately and you support a local business. Win win.
This place is a Durango musicians best friend.
Jim is the man, and this shop is absolutely beautiful! Great service, fair prices, and an amazing selection for a mountain town music store. Friendly staff and capable repair service…I have nothing but good things to say!
Jimmy’s music was very nice store however seemed understaffed.
Good local music, guitar store
Cute store pack with tons of things.
Had my mind set on buying a new piano keyboard and supporting this local music store in Durango and to know that the workers (maybe even the owners) don’t know how to treat their customers is very disappointing. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted, even after a few minutes I wasnt asked how I was doing or IF I NEEDED HELP FINDING ANYTHING. I know what you’re thinking “maybe he was busy” nooooo! Because there was another worker there and no one else was in the store. I wasn’t addressed or anything until I was about to leave. I know I’m an adult and maybe I should have just asked him myself but if I’m gonna spend a few hundred dollars at your store then I’d expect to be treated like it let alone be WELCOMED INTO THE STORE! But my question is why? Did I not looked like a serious buyer? Was it cause I was wearing a mask? Or was it cause I was brown? My questions are valid and justified through the actions of the workers. Sad to know that people are treated differently for whatever reason. Such a bad impression on the community and very disappointing experience.
They did not have what we were looking for.
8. Steve’s Guitars
Address: 19 N 4th St, Carbondale, CO 81623 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
Steve is a chill guy. I hang out around his venue.
Some of the best live music this side of the devide
So much amazing music in the most intimate venue ever. It’s all about the music.
Intimate venue blanketed in an eclectic collection of guitars. Great for solo or small acts to play in, especially warm acoustics.
Intimate, beautiful guitar display. Fun nice place to get to know musicians upclose. Byob.
It’s ok
This place chronically doesn’t pay their musicians who play there. 50% cut of door sales?? No response when folks try to collect their earnings?? Support local music – not this place.
9. Wild Acoustic Music Co.
Address: 28225 CO-74, Evergreen, CO 80439 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
Haven’t been in a while because I live so far away, but I have never found another music store on par with this one. Hopefully once I graduate and start making that career moneh I can come back and visit and maybe get another awesome acoustic guitar.
ED is great with guitar lessons, we will be back!
Love Wild Acoustic! The best music shop in CO!
10. GLENWOOD MUSIC
Address: 3102 Blake Ave D, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
Great music store! Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Prices comparable to any online retailer in the USA. If its not in stock, they’ll get it for you. I also recommend the repair shop. They can fix almost anything regarding music instruments as well.
Awesome shop with awesome people. Been going there since I moved to the valley
Great guitar, synth, keyboard, and audio selection, super nice guys, ND great prices. What’s not to love?
Extremely helpful and friendly. Beautiful shop. They added a additional area January 2019 ish with a great guitar room and piano area.
Nice store!
Guess you’re not open until 6pm…
Customer service is absolutely awful. The rudest staff I have ever had to deal with. They are so pompous and rude I am sad I gave them my money. If you aren’t knowledgeable about music DONT GO HERE, the staff is terrible to customers who don’t know music. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere or just shopping online. Not one member of the staff is nice and helpful, worst musical experience ever!
Very disrespectful people. I hate spending my money there but it’s the only local music store 🙁
Not Very NIce or knowledgeable.Been in there several times to pick up strings or picks stuff i needed for that day. and it seemed liked they didn’t have time for me or my questions. Its a bummer because I own a live sound company and it would be nice to pick up all my supplies from a local store.
11. Harrelson Music Inc
Address: 1900 Railroad Ave F, Rifle, CO 81650 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
Great staff and owner very helpful with whatever you need and great store!
Most Excellent
The best local music shop you’ll visit. Dave is super knowledgeable, connected, and very nice. He has a lot in stock, but is happy to hunt down whatever you need that he doesn’t have at the moment. Support the local businesses, come to Harrelson music
Great people makes great places
12. Flesher Hinton Music
Address: 5890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
This music store has been around for some time, and for good reason. Andy here is well versed in musical instruments, he knows his stuff, and he is more than happy to assist in any capacity needed. I came here to get my cello tuned, and a few other things, I left a more than satisfied customer. Love this place. Wonderful customer service and expertise.
I am a musician and have been involved with Flesher-Hinton for over 10 years. They always have a wonderful selection to meet my needs and the staff are very knowlegable. I highly recommend Flesher-Hinton for all your music needs!
Best music and repair store in metro area. Hands down.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Like always the services people were just great.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
13. Moondog Music Shop
Address: 1716 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
This place is the BEST music store in Colorado Springs that I have found, and I am pretty confident that I’ve exhausted them all. I went in looking for a banjo for my husband, and the owner was so nice and helpful. I would say that this is one of the few places in town that has both a good selection of high-end string instruments for the pro AND affordable ones for a beginner. He was also honest with me about the quality I could expect at a certain price point but was not at all pushy. He ordered an additional banjo for me to look at, letting me know that he wanted to have it in stock anyway. I will definitely be returning here for any future work on our banjo or uke, and I may even sign us up for some lessons.
Everyone says this place is always closed when they say that they will be open. Well unfortunately that is the reality I too have experienced. Multiple times I’ve tried to visit during posted operating hours but I can never seem to catch the store open. I’ll keep trying though maybe they need some extra help like a part time employee. We need local musical instrument stores or all there’s gonna be is guitar center.
2nd time I’ve stopped by during advertised open hours and shop is closed. I mentioned this to a friend and he laughed… Apparently it’s pretty difficult to figure out their schedule even though it’s posted on their front window and on the internet. He told me that’s definitely their reputation around town. Maybe it’s an amazing shop. I keep trying to find out.
Web site is shady can’t seem to catch opend …..
Stopped by to get a guitar and they are closed. Wish I would have know this, I wouldn’t have drove across town to come here.
14. Roper Music
Address: 1224 N 25th St, Grand Junction, CO 81501 , Yuma , Colorado , United States
Went for some repair, service was super fast, very nice behavior, and they didn’t charge me a $. simply wow!
They’ve had everything my middle schooler and I have needed at comparable prices.
Good customer services and friendly staff.
Great service great prices
Good friendly service and selection of musical supplies
Always good , good service, people are always nice
Rip off – their lack of patience with me has cost me a few hundred dollars, but it will cost them my business for life and perhaps others as well. Get your instruments elsewhere.
Wanted to rent for a couple months before I purchased an instrument but was told that service only available to students.
Really expensive and very rude customer service.. they know they are the only music shop and they take advantage of all of us band parents… if you look on line you can find anything cheaper than them
