I had a wonderful experience here after leaving Danny’s Music, feeling very offended. These guys took the time to explain to me what needed to be done and showed me what needed to be done (which didn’t happen at that other place) I felt comfortable and left my guitar there. I also got to hold a left handed accoustic guitar (which I wasn’t allowed to do at the other place). I definitely will be returning back after my guitar is fixed to do business with these fellas!

Not easy to find but I was in and out in 5 minutes. They had what I wanted and the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend it.

Ripoff artists. Charged $50 for new strings. Said they were Elixirs. I know what Elixirs look and sound. They put on some cheap strings. DO NOT trust these guys. Never getting my business again.

I used to take all my guitars to Ben when I lived here in the mid/late 90’s and it was always great! Not sure what happened, but I will NEVER let them touch my guitar again.
Took my guitar to get a few adjustments. Nothing major. Needed intonation, a small nut spur on the high e, and new strings(which I supplied.) Got the call 2 days later that it was ready. I grabbed it, paid my $70 and took off. I trusted them, so I gave it a quick glance and that was it.
Got it home and pulled it out. Hmm. My Floyd Rose Bridge was uneven, guitar was out of tune, and these were NOT the strings I gave. Tuned it up and the intonation was WORSE, still a spur on the high e, and when I tried my trem it wouldn’t budge. Wth.
Opened the back and they had BLOCKED my trem, not even a good blocking as the bridge was uneven. Didn’t touch the nut, didn’t even attempt intonation, and to add insult to injury they stole my NYXL strings. Including the extra set in the case.
Shameful how far they have fallen.

A convenient location for the Covington area. However, I’d prefer to visit the Conyers Music & Arts store. The staff at McKibben did not strike me as entirely friendly and unapproachable. Could have been a bad day but considering the lackluster item selection as well, I won’t be returning.

asked if they had a ukulele and they didnt which was fine so we asked the guy to give us a call once they had them in stock we wrote down our number for them. Never received a call bought my ukulele some where else

Rude. Bad business. I never felt so out-of-place and disrespected. 1st of all, I walked in and spoke while he was yapping away on the phone. No response from him. He kept going on with his phone conversation as I walked around looking. So, I assumed he didn’t want my business and I left. A little later, I sent my daughter in because I found half of what I needed somewhere else. He actually suggested her to get the items somewhere else. So, she was very uncomfortable and left.

Our loved piano teacher increased the fee so we thought we would try piano lessons here. Spoke several times to a lady on the phone whom encouraged us to “try” out a lesson. Never ever stating there is a $25 fee. I do not mind paying, but I did mind being surprised when leaving.
Upon arrival the older gentleman was SUPER sweet. That is so important to me. Very kind and nice man. It changed slightly when I was surprised I owed money, but that’s fine.
The piano instruction “room” is a very dingy, dark and TINY closet with an electric piano. I was expecting a real piano, not electric and it was very claustrophobic room.
We met with Rosa. At first she was ok. But she really has a persona of being annoyed about things. She suggested getting a notebook to write notes but we already had one with and she really, obviously, didn’t like our book . She did not instruct on posture or finger placement, I told my daughter, use point of finger, not the whole finger, sit up straight… i think thats 101 and should be imp. There were several instances where I felt she was just annoyed.When we left, she didn’t say anything like it was so nice to meet you, I look forward to working with you, have a wonderful evening, etc… she actually was annoyed about me asking fees for a partial month and rudely told me to speak with the front… since we are in the Oct already I was only curious about the monthly fee. She walked us halfway to the front, turned around and left… did not smile, wait for us to officially end the goodbye… I had actually said nice to meet you, thanks for your time, have a good evening to her back. Very very odd. That sealed it for me

We are happily taking our original piano teachers increased fee and looking forward to her excellent instruction in a beautiful room with a real piano.
Nice family business, but its just not for us. We wanted to try the other piano teachers and told yes we could. But… oh… they’re booked sweet gentlemen and I’m sure the other instructors are great. If I had known it was electric piano and that tiny room, I may not have even bothered. If it was listed somewhere, I obviously missed it. I hadn’t looked at the website. Just reviews and word of mouth.

My most recent purchase from Megatone was a vintage archtop guitar. Prior to that I purchased parts, strings, and small items. Regardless of the size of the purchase I was always treated well. During the process of buying this guitar I received friendly and helpful service. Never did I feel pressured to buy. I got a great instrument for a fair price. It was a complete pleasure to deal with these folks. A great store in the scenic mountain town of Blairsville.

This store is very clean, very good selection on all gear & the prices are more than fair.
The owner Darryl is very kind & will answer any & every question you have on anything in his store.

Despite receiving damaged item, supplying several pictures of clear damage, and messages from seller admitting it was damaged, they refused refund. Reviews from others with similar complaints also noted. Buyer beware.

Scammers. Associate Darryl is a nasty individual and scams his customers. Stay away from this business.

Ordered a brand new guitar for a present and it arrived with a scuff. Not sure if it was packed like this or it happened during transit. I sent a freindly message to Megatone Music about it and the initial response I got was that it was a mislabled used guitar, not a brand new one as advertized. Then he said that i scratched it and its not a big deal, my friend will be happy with a present. Not a pleasant expereince. Seller’s responses seem manipulative.

Literally 4:08pm on a Saturday I show up. They were not open. Sign on the door says 10am-6pm. Very disappointed.

Been to this store a few times. I brought my first 5 string bass here. Small store but the staff is great. Very helpful and the in store selection is not bad. Just hard to find you really need to pay attention cause you can drive right past it. Once you find it you don’t want to leave. They helped me find a very sleek nice sounding Ibanez bass that was in my price range that I’m in love with. Thanks guys!

I called to see if they could do a repair on my son’s flute. They said to bring it in, they could do it but would charge an extra
20% for a rush job. I dropped it off and called in the next day to see if the repairs had been done, as my son had a Christmas concert he needed it for. I got Doug the repair man on the phone. He said he doesn’t do rush jobs and he was way to busy to deal with it. He treated me very unprofessional and they honestly don’t care about keeping anyone’s business. Please don’t waste your time here as I did.

I can say with confidence that the Band and Orchestra repair shop and some really great Teachers are the ONLY REASON to give this company any of your money. You can trust your brass repairs to be flawless. Those are the only positive comments have.

Quite possibly the least hospitable shopkeeper I’ve met in recent years. I understand not wanting people to damage instruments playing them with no intention to buy, but a unilateral “don’t touch” policy is pretty standoffish in a field that is built on the dreams of budding players.

Went in to buy all new drum heads for a used drum set and the guy behind the counter was too busy looking at his phone to assist me. I’ve bought all kinds of stuff at this store in the past (bass guitar, bass amp, microphones, wawa pedal, guitar straps, strings ALL kinds of stuff) but I’ll buy online moving forward unless I ABSOLUTELY have to go there. I still ended up buying drum sticks because I don’t wanna wait to order online. The owner has always been nice but the chubby bearded guy is terrible. He made me feel like I was dumb, he was too lazy to actually get up and SEE if he could help me. I was planning on spending I don’t know AT LEAST probably $100 to $150. TERRIBLE customer service.

I just got strings there today and one of them broke into as I was putting it on, so I went back and asked them if they would give me a refund and they give me the one string that broke!!!

We brought a flute here that we had purchased second hand for our daughter, who is just starting middle school band. They told us it needed over $100 in repairs to be playable, and it was not worth repairing, unless it had sentimental value. They suggested that we either buy a new one, or use their rental program.

We then brought it to a friend of ours, who is the band director at a local high school, and a flute player. He said that it didn’t need ANY repairs, was ready to go, and would be a great flute for a beginner to start out on.

This place was CLEARLY just after our money, and took advantage of our lack of musical knowledge to try to do so. I would steer clear.

A good musician know’s a guitar will sound and play differently, even within the same make and model. In light of that fact, it behooves one to play, listen and feel how the instrument performs before investing in one. I got the impression Rush’s Music ‘rushed’ me to stop playing, talk price, or leave. Whether that was their intentions or not, I will make my purchase of an electric and an acoustic guitar elsewhere where you are encouraged to make a wise and sound decision before flashing a credit card

I brought a Martin GPC15ME a few years ago and it was mainly kept in storage. This is an $1800 guitar brand new. I went to this newish Duluth location hoping to get $1000 minimum which is less than 60% of new cost. They offered me $750. Don’t go here if you have a gem. Find another place.

Got offered $350 for an excellent condition USA Fender Stratocaster with all original tools, trem etc today – IN TRADE against a guitar in their store. Jerry, the sales associate, didn’t even take it out of the case for his “appraisal”. Meanwhile, they have another USA Fender Stratocaster with the same specs (I know, because I looked for the equivalent on their website before even going there) for $900. Oh, wait, there was a difference – theirs is dinged all over. When I pointed that one out, I was told it was “different’. Wouldn’t elaborate why, of course. Because it wasn’t, apart from the dings of course. Won’t be back.
