Knowledgable staff and an amazing stock of guitars. The most impressive set of archtops I’ve found anywhere!
It’s a no brainer, seriously. I’ve been going here since since I was 16, and used to annoy George with my Stephen Stills impressions. He was patient with me, lol. Anyway, this place is and has always been much more than a guitar shop. Yes, it’s a big part of who they are, but make no mistake, it’s also a place to be inspired, and be around people who truly love the instrument. They are the ONLY place I send folks.
This guitar store is amazing! Great selection and knowledgeable staff!
Had a guitar cable when I needed it.
Not many mandolins
Thé Owners are lousy business
No prices listed
2. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 95 Amity Rd, New Haven, CT 06515 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Big selection. Helpful staff. Number of people twiddling on the pianos without knowing how to play: minimal and bearable. 😛
Just picked up a Martin DRS1 from them yesterday. I have to say out of all the music stores I have been to, Sam Ash is hands down the best. Other stores only focus on “selling” extended service plans on the instruments they sell. That is not a problem in my eyes but the employees at these other stores lack the knowledge of the instrument they are actually selling. That is not the case with Sam Ash. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and no matter who I walk by I am greeted with a “Hello”. I cannot remember the gentleman’s name who helped me but he was never pushy and actually recommended the right instrument that fit my specifications. Their additional maintenance plan for $60 is such a bargain too. He explained to me that it covers setups and string changes for two years. A one time setup alone is normally 30-60 anyways so I saw extreme value in this service. Thank you Sam Ash for providing such a wonderful atmosphere for musicians to leave with a complete musical solution. You have a customer for life!
Staff were super- helpful.
The staff is what makes this place great! Billy, the manager, is a class act who goes out of his way for his fellow musicians
Good for the basics
We like Sam Ash. The people are usually helpful and friendly. The prices are pretty much the same as Guitar Center, but they do seem to have more basses to try, if that’s your thing. They also have orchestra stuff and pretty much anything else you may need, musically.
Too noisy for me. Got a gift certificate for my grandson, and was happy to leave.
Edit: This review was written over ten years ago but a small edit and it has now posted as recent. Not sure why but that’s not why I’m writing this edit here. This review being posted prompted a manager from Sam Ash to contact my father (who has the same name as me) to try and address whatever issue prompted the negative review. My father called me to let me know and told me the manager would like me to call him. Well… I’ve called around 6 times now and can’t get through, it simply hangs up on me after pressing #2 for a manager. I decided to give the 1-800# a call to see if they could connect me to the New Haven store manager because it kept hanging up on me. Guess what? Twice I called the 1-800#, twice they hung up. At this point it’s comical. I don’t even really remember what my issue was when I wrote this review but things must not be any better down there at Sam Ash since I can’t even contact anyone. Keep up the great work guys.
Original Review:
“You want a real review then look no further. When you walk into Sam Ash it is like walking into a garage sale. Used products trying to be pawned off with brand new retail prices. Almost everything I purchased from Sam Ash had to be returned or replaced. Customer Service hah! Forget about it. Some preemie-punk band wannabees who know only what their 1978 computer programmed screen tells them on how low they can go without making a commision. If you are a novice they will clean your wallet without even blinking! Do not buy into their trade-in program HUGE let down. They will not take anything!! You are better off going to the local pawn shop with your gear. I brought in a workstation worth triple what I was trying to trade for and they looked as confused as George Bush at a press conference and still would not trade. Do not waste your time with this Flea Market! Do yourself a favor and make the extra trip to Guitar Center or if you need orchestra instruments see your local music shop you will be 100% better off. I am a 25+years musician and HAVE NOT and DO NOT work at any music store so what you read is the truth do with it what you want.”
No one greeted me and asked if I needed help.
3. George’s Music Center
Address: 905 New Harwinton Rd, Torrington, CT 06790 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Dennis there helps me out often. I’ve recently purchased three Roland products. Over the years I’ve bought guitars and amps there plus tons of accessories and service. Catalog prices on great gear close by!
Great place, really knowledgeable, very helpful and kind.
George is knowledgeable and friendly. He did a wonderful job adjusting the neck on my guitar. I am happy to support this local business. If you need any instruments or gear, this is the place to go.
Nice shop
Meh
If you’re not looking to go too far to get musical instruments. Look no further. Expensive though. But if you don’t care about prices, go for it. Not much of a selection though.
This place is just awful. The owner is so rude to us that i will never go back. We rented an instrument from him because our normal music store didnt have the instrument and when the instrument broke he said it was our fault and that it wasnt covered and then bad mouthed our local music store.
After going to this place; I must say I will never go back there again. The owner is so rude and disrespectful. Its not even funny. The owner needs get off his anthropocentric state of mind.
4. JC Music
Address: 529 W Main St, Meriden, CT 06451 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
My 3 boys take piano lessons at JC Music and I have been pleased to see their growth not only in their technical skills but in their understanding of music theory and their enthusiasm to play. This is in no small part due to Brian’s instruction and also the twice a year recitals which give the boys something fun to prepare for. Additionally we have used JC music’s instrument rental program to get my son’s clarinet for school and found that process smooth and the instrument itself was in excellent shape. Nothing but good things to say about JC music.
I brought in some guitars and amplifiers to sell on consignment. The staff has a high standard, is very professional, kind and polite. I’m very happy that the items I brought in have found homes.
My son and daughter both took lessons here. They have outstanding teachers. They also sell and rent instruments
My grandson really enjoyed the music lessons and they are very professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend them.
Would like to obtain some nice brushes and some type of top hat set used and very sturdy since I break percussion instruments all the time when I perform?
My son, Roberto Luis and Rosa live in Meriden. Are you far from the mall? I have spent a lot of time jamming in Puerto Rico to salsa, merengue, etc but my favorite is funk like Buddy Miles.
This was a horrible expierence. They need to get their stuff together, they had already-sold instruments on shelf. They had an amazing guitar sale and when I went to buy, it was already sold! They got my hopes high and let it down and I will not give them my money any longer.
Never have any of the literature or instrument parts I’m looking for. Took 3 months to repair a trombone. I tried to return an item and they wouldn’t give me back the cash to go to another place. The owner has blatantly disrespected my mother on several occasions and doesn’t have much knowledge of much of anything outside of rock music. As far as i’m concerned, this is the worst music store i’ve ever set foot in and would not recommend to anybody.
Completely disappointed. I placed an order in store on a instrument that was never placed with JC music. The customer service was poorly displayed and the options they gave us was not acceptable. I asked to speak to the owner several times and would not get on the phone and made his new employee talk to me. I ended up going somewhere else that was amazing
5. Woodbury Music Shop
Address: 766 Main St S, Woodbury, CT 06798 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Great honest shop here. Had a great online interaction with Dave via email. Want to know why I trust them? Because they talked me out of a purchase. Ha! Thanks again!
Woodbury Music is the best shop around of all of your instrument needs! The shop owner Dave, is both friendly & knowledgeable! I have gotten both common things done (fixing of saxophone keys) as well as unusual things done (fixing of a dulcimer bridge) and everyone has always been great! I have also taken lessons for almost three years now, and my teacher Mike is not only a dedicated teacher, but also a very talented professional. Stop by and check it out!
A hidden gem UPSTAIRS. Don’t miss it. Dave the owner is great, and talented. Patrick Gill is the PREMIER guitar TECH in the whole northwest CT region. He works miracles at a very fair price. Excellent teachers, Will for piano and keyboards and Mike for guitar and bass. Better check them out. I only trust my guitars to Dave and Patrick. Won’t go anywhere else. Seriously.
6. Guitar Center
Address: 50 Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT 06477 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
For a bass player this store only caters to the people who want a mainstream bass like fender or Ibanez. For some reason they are way over stocked on Mark bass amps which are really really expensive and they also have alot of ampegs
Won’t pick up the phone I called 9 times
A little over yr ago I had ordered a vintage guitar online from guitar center and it was shipped professionally done. I thought that was the Guitar Center Standard so I decided to purchase an other one. The next purchase came from this location and all I can say people ship $2 LP’s with more responsibility and care than these guys did with shipping a 1967 Vox Super Lynx Deluxe.
So I was on the lookout for a nice acoustic guitar with an alternate top other than spruce which is my personal preference. I tried a few cedar top seagulls and a Breedlove hog top. After a long time a rep showed up and asked me what I was looking for and I said I prefer a hog top. to my surprise he said “oh yeah, those are bright sounding…” wow really??? he said he’ll be back with a few hog tops and I never saw him for a long time after which i left. It wasn’t a really busy day either.
7. The Music Shop
Address: 405 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Professional and high quality service from a multi-generation family owned business. Scott and his staff truly care about your progress as a musician. Their music teachers are highly educated and patient. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my family’s music needs.
I brought my old Taylor guitar in for some adjustments and Scot was awesome!!super knowledgeable, attentive, detailed and quick turn around to get my guitar back to me. The adjustments were just what I was looking for so now I can happily play my guitar! Very personable and friendly! Excellent service! I love the local feel! I would highly recommend this shop!
Best
The cellos were in not in good shape and we had to pay a luthiere to redo repairs that were poorly done when we received the instrument.
Great place but website could be better such as pics of some used equipment. I’m a drummer and would like to see what they have for new and used cymbals, stands, drum kits etc. And prices. I have done business with them and always had a great experience the reason for three stars is the website doesn’t do the music shop justice. All and all great store great people.
8. Route 1 Guitars
Address: 189 Bridgeport Ave, Milford, CT 06460 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
I love this shop for friendly and helpful staff. They are really passionate about music!
Thru the past decade.. maybe longer… I have found Route 1 Guitars to be an incredible store for any needs I have musically. The do all my repairs and setups… always perfect. They also help me to buy and sell in my range of interests in instruments, effects and amplifiers. They never fail and always go the extra mile to be of service. Not to mention that they have the most versatile teachers that can get you playing whatever you desire and also knowing what you are doing musically. Dare I say for the best prices around? The staff is always bending over backwards doing their very best to please the customer. They have not only become amazing friends but like a home away from home. Route 1 Guitars ROCKS! You can’t go wrong here.
They have everything one can need and even a student discount if you take lessons the people are very kind and polite and far cheaper than guitar center
Nice staff
Knowledgeable staff, in addition to guitars, keyboards, etc… They have school instrument rentals
Call before visiting the store. They say they’re open at 12:30 but don’t show up for hours after the fact. I get it, they’re a small operation, but wasting your local customer’s time doesn’t breed repeat customers. I needed to be in the store three times. All three times, my time was wasted because the store wasn’t open during their own published times of operation. Just rent your kid’s instrument from somewhere else.
Sent my guitar (Fender Jazzmaster) for connection electric issue. After roughly a week and a half guitar was done just for it to have the same issue. What a disappointment
Absolute joke of a store.
9. A Sound Choice
Address: 267 E Main St UNIT 3, Branford, CT 06405 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
These guys are amazing! I live in Memphis and bought a G&L Fallout Black w/ Tortishelle Pickguard from them!
Came exactly 5 days later from the time I bought it, just as it was scheduled.
It came with no scratches, no dents, but nearly IN TUNE, with a free strap and a few picks! These guys are A- Class!
Give Ken Johnson at ” A Sound Choice” a Call! He’ll get you set up with whatever you need!
Ken has been my go-to guy for setups for as long as I can remember. Always delivers quality service and super speedy turnaround.
During this Virus Lock Down and sitting home in NJ playing guitar, I decided to buy a new guitar. I searched for the dealer’s carrying the guitar I wanted and came upon “A Sound Choice”. How lucky I was to come upon such a wonderful experience. Working with Ken, the store’s owner was a pleasure. Ken was what a retailer should be. The price and service were excellent. I received the guitar 24 hours later via UPS. “A Sound Choice” should be your choice.
Ordered a guitar on Reverb and Ken always answered the phone and was very helpful throughout the process. I ordered a Larrivee OM-40 and it was listed as brand new but definitely had a dent and 2 scratches which was disappointing but overall a good experience with the process.
The guitar however has a terrible extreme buzzing noice, especially when playing on the first 7 frets of the 4th, 5th, and 6th strings…even when playing a single note and strum lightly…a terrible buzz. I can’t seem to figure out where it is coming from. I will have to take to a luthier which is unfortunate given that it is a brand new guitar. He did say he sanded the saddle down before shipping to lower the action, suspicious that is the problem.
Update: Took it into a luthier. The saddle had been sanded down, action too low, poor job with the setup. Had to build me a new saddle. New strings, and adjusted trust rod as well. Buzzing gone. Sounds and plays like a dream!
Very convenient
Cool little music shop. Worth going and especially if you need a setup on your instrument.
10. Westbury Music
Address: 686 Main St, Watertown, CT 06795 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Great job setting up my DIY bass. Also leveled, crowned and polished the frets. At a great price.
For the past 18 months, I have been taking weekly drum lessons from Gary, who is a very knowledgeable and patient teacher. I have been bringing all of my guitars to Westbury music for re-stringing and repairs since they opened shop several years ago..I bought a beautiful bass guitar and amp from them a few months ago. Their prices are very reasonable and the gear is top notch. And Michael is a really great guy.
Informative staff
Ordered instrument for my son, was told to pick up the next day, went the following day to pick it up and it wasn’t there. Also bought a box of reefs for the instrument and was given the wrong kind. The gentleman that waited on us was polite, although he didn’t recognize us even though we had just been in the day before!
excellent store, good Fender Selection, nice acoustics, lessons, and school instruments.
Staff is very friendly and knowledgable.
11. Rayburn Music
Address: 22B Andover Dr, West Hartford, CT 06110 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Very friendly fast and efficient service! I love shopping local
Excellent Quality of both service and instruments.
Very helpful.
Fast and friendly service
STAY AWAY from this company! I rented a cello early 2019. We returned the cello in Aug 2019 and are still getting billed for it! I’ve called and left messages since no one picks up the phone in the Milford office where I rented and returned the instrument. No call back and monthly payments for the cello are still getting charged off my bank card. Had to file a complaint with my bank to stop payments. Terrible terrible business practice!
In store service is good but can never call the Hartford Rayburn Music. Electronic voice prompts to dial 0 for an attendant but when do so it says “Your call cannot be transferred” been a customer for about 3 years. Never could get done anything over phone. Have to visit store for everything.
We rented a viola from Rayburn. The first viola wasn’t put together right (something to do with the bridge). after switching to another viola we realized the bow doesn’t quite fit with the viola.
we rented from the music store in the center and it was a great experience but pricier. though Rayburn isn’t cheap either
they will be replacing the viola once more, lets see how it goes this time…
12. The Music Score LLC
Address: 2315 Silas Deane Hwy, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Really great place to stop by and get an instrument. The prices seem a bit higher but the quality is surely within the quality you’d expect.
I bought a ukulele here and the quality and sound lived up to the price.
My daughter’s piano teacher in East Hampton recommended this store for the purchase of a piano. Thank you Gil for your help selecting one of your pianos. We purchased our piano several days before Christmas as a gift for my daughter. As it can be challenging to find delivery at the holidays, the store owner went out of his way to deliver the piano personally on Christmas Eve. The piano sounds wonderful and my daughter was thrilled. Thanks for the excellent service, wonderful piano, and beautiful music that now fills my home.
I didn’t come to purchase any thing but the employees were more than happy to show me their selection and teach me about the purpose of the parts on the guitars/bass.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
My daughter is signed up for lessons and her teacher is great (I hear the others are as well). Just try not to deal with the guy that owns it.
Arrived at 10:00am (they open at 10am, but not today). I waited and they finally arrived. All I needed was guitar strings, but they had none. What a waste of time.
I tried to return my daughter’s Viola due to the school no longer providing classes. It was a total nightmare to get an answer in regards to my credit. They are very irresponsible and I am very disappointed by the lack of care towards my return which was even misplaced! Mom and dad are not helpful at all and he should really look at keeping them home, they make things worse!
13. Goldie & Libro Music Center
Address: 380 Washington Ave #1, North Haven, CT 06473 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Jack was very helpful when purchasing my guitar. He even gave me a new set of strings for a guitar that was already discounted!
Rented a violin for my granddaughter and they were wonderful.
Amazing service over the many years I’ve used their store for my music students. Jack and Carole are so helpful and great people. Highly recommended for anyone that needs help with quality instruments.
I went to this place this morning ,the owner no nice to us ,because we are first time here ,we need somebody help , we won’t come back in the future.
I do Not recommend this place to anyone. The owner of the shop was very rude. When my card declined for some reason he announced it very loadly to everyone and when I gave them my second card he hoped my card was working this time.
They were absolutely no help. Don’t waste your time.
14. Bethel Music Center – Instrument Sales, Rentals, Lessons and Repairs
Address: 273 Greenwood Ave #101, Bethel, CT 06801 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
My son has been taking lessons here for a little over a year and we absolutely love it. Very accommodating if you have scheduling issues or need help renting/buying the instrument. I did wish they had more instructors but that seems to be an availability of teachers issue not a store issue. Highly recommend.
Great service!
Allowed me to trade in a Sax for Trumpet and gave me a very fair price on the Sax. Thank you Bethel Music
Knowledgeable professional staff and instructors.
Instrument rentals are great for their prices
Good info from employees
Just stopped by quick. Had a great hour. They are the best
15. DuBaldo Music Center
Address: 881 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Prompt and professional! Recently purchased an SBMM Majesty guitar online and it came in perfect condition with Dubaldo only upgrades, Will definitely recommend them and will be making more purchases in the future. Thanks Dubaldo team!!
That was likely the most pleasant guitar buying experience I have ever had. I could not recommend patronizing this amazing store more. Thank you so much!!
I’m not sure how long this review will be, but I will say upfront that buying a guitar from DuBaldo Music was a great experience, from day one until I took delivery of my instrument, and beyond!
I ordered an Alvarez-Yairi Honduran series (FYM66HD) guitar from Pete at DuBaldo music in April 2021.
For those reading this review in the somewhat distant future, allow me to set the scene a bit:
There was a LOT going on in the world during this time. The COVID Pandemic was still raging, and supply chains were snarled at every turn.
Ports were closed, dock workers and truckers were striking or working limited hours under delayed timelines. Parts availability was questionable at best, etc.
VERY long story short: The guitar had to be hand built in Japan, then shipped to the west coast, then shipped to St.Louis, MO, then shipped to DuBaldo Music in CT before I could take delivery. All the while, considering the conditions of the world as described above.
Pete, Lisa and everyone else at DuBaldo music helped me along at every stage, kept me updated, empathized with and tolerated my frequent calls for updates, contacted the distributor in St. Louis on my behalf, and were generally very pleasant to work with over a period of just over one full year.
I will not pretend that I wasn’t itching to receive my guitar, or that the extended delay didn’t bother me. It was a maddening wait!
But I want to make it crystal clear:
DuBaldo music did their absolute best to get it to me as quickly as possible, considering the extremely challenging circumstances. I can’t say enough about their customer service. It was exceptional at every stage!
When I made my order over the phone, Pete answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with what I was ordering as far as the specs were concerned. We made a deal on a VERY good price, and the wait began.
I won’t bore with the details, but between Japan and Connecticut there were numerous significant delays. Mostly unavoidable and one or two caused by decisions that St.Louis Music made, and/or failed to communicate ahead of time.
Pete and Lisa worked through all of this for me deftly, and professionally.
I am not local to the store. I live in DC, about 6 hours away. When the guitar finally arrived, there were 3 in the order, and Pete and Lisa let me know that I could have my pick of the three. Instead of having Pete play them for me over the phone and choosing from pictures, I decided to drive up and try them out in person, and drive it home myself.
Lisa and Nick were more than accommodating, and I was made to feel very comfortable while taking my time to decide. All 3 guitars were incredible instruments and it was a tough decision. Nick provided periodic feedback and assistance as I tried them over a period of about 3 hours. I never felt rushed, bothered, or unimportant. They made sure I was attended to but was not hovered over.
They knew exactly how to help a musician pick an instrument, and it is clear that they wanted to make sure I was equipped to make the right choice, and leave satisfied.
On the way out, as they knew I was a visitor, they even provided local restaurant recommendations, since I had mentioned that I was making my best effort to eat at great places while I was on the road.
I was, and am still, very happy with the decision I made, and with the entire experience of buying from DuBaldo music.
I cannot recommend them highly enough!
My only disappointment was that after a year of talking to him several times a month on the phone, I didn’t get to meet Pete in person, since he was out sick the day I visited.
Hopefully he’s feeling better now, and if I’m ever back in CT, I’ll be sure to stop in and thank him personally!
Thanks again to Lisa, Nick, Pete, and everyone at DuBaldo for a trying, long lasting,, but ultimately completely satisfying experience! The guitar is utterly amazing and will be with me forever, as will the experience of shopping with you.
Great service
16. Middlesex Music Academy
Address: 440 Main St, Middletown, CT 06457 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
Great place to learn how to play, excellent repair shop, and good prices on gear. Can’t ask for a better independently owned music shop.
I needed small studio monitors for a Yamaha YDP 323, so that I could record it without wearing headphones. Matt recommended PreSonus Eris E4.5’s. What a great set of speakers! No hum or distortion and completely accurate. The price was also great, no more than online while shopping local. Great store, great staff. Thank you!
Brought an old ‘66 Fender in and they took 40 years off it over the weekend. My jaw is still on the ground in amazement.
The sales team made it possible for me to afford a piano for my son
I would give Middlesex Music Academy a 0 if I was able to. I called to inquire about a $150 charge when I haven‘t been confirmed by John the guitar teacher. I made a request to Matt that Tuesday was my preference but John was booked so he scheduled Thursday at 6pm. I received a text and email from John yesterday that he had a conflict for Thursday and offered Friday. I responded via text/email that would not work and inquired if this was temporary or permanent to which I did not receive a response. I let John know this may not be a good fit then. I called today to have the charge refunded and Jim proceeded to call me names, saying I was yelling & screaming over the phone and I was being rude. No need to go into the dramatics but Jim needs a lesson in manners, telling the truth and understanding that being a manager does not give him the authority to behave poorly. Never once did I raise my voice but did correct Jim several times throughout the conversation all because i asked for a refund. Extremely unprofessional and a bad look for Middlesex Music all around. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Inexcusable & theater worthy performance by Jim today folks!!!
I signed up for a piano lesson trial online. Their site is very confusing and it’s not clear if the lesson is in-person and online. I called them, left a message but they never called me back. In the day/time of the lesson, I called them 3 times because I was having problems to contact the teacher. The guy who works there, Jim, clearly doesn’t have any customer service skills. He was rude and unpleasant. He didn’t make any effort to help me, told me a was confused and nobody else had problems. I just canceled the future lessons there. It’s easier just hire a private piano teacher. Hopefully I will never have to deal with this guy again.
I paid $80 for a setup on a guitar and got it back with the strings a mile off of the neck and the floyd rose studs so high out of the body I could park a car under it. The bridge pickup was raised until it was practically touching the strings and the neck pickup was lowered to below the pickup ring. The tech then told me that 10-52 strings don’t exist. They’re light top heavy bottom and aren’t even uncommon strings. Every time I go there they give bad advice and clearly don’t know what they’re talking about. My friend tried to buy a tubescreamer (basic overdrive) and they tried to sell him a phaser instead (completely different thing).
17. Music & Arts
Address: 99 Executive Blvd S, Southington, CT 06489 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
The artists who work here are very helpful and patient my partner and I will be back for sure and special thanks to the sweetie with Pink hair and the curly cutie for all your help
I was looking to buy a higher end digital piano. This was the best instrument buying experience of my 65+ years. Grant and the women working in the store were very helpful in my evaluating different keyboards. They brought in additional keyboards more than once for me to try from the warehouse. I was not rushed in making a decision. Their feedback as to tone, feel etc were spot on. Great overall experience!
Great people, extremely helpful and friendly
I whould l8ke to buy aking or yamaha euphonium
18. Guitar Hangar – Lessons, Rentals, Repairs, and More
Address: 270 Federal Rd # 7, Brookfield, CT 06804 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
My father passed away many years ago and I’ve been holding on to his broken down guitar for what feels like forever. I brought it in yesterday to have it fixed for my brother. Quick and beautiful repair, and the smile it put on my brother’s face was priceless. Thank you so much!
Best in the business. Rick and team have a world of experience in the music world. Their team of instructors are top notch. Rick spent the time to work with me (as I am a beginner) to learn and advise me, not sell. My daughter takes weekly lessons, bass and guitar, I see continual improvement from Guitar Hangers’ positive learning environment.
The whole team is great! Rick is the best. Had a issue with a guitars pickups buzzing. He brought it to the back for approximately two minutes, gave it back to me and boom, it worked just like new. Some kind of ground wire was actually missing. I recently ordered a effect pedal from Rick and it got here in half the time it was supposed to!!! Definitely will be going back there. Thsee guys know their stuff. It’s impressive. Great place!!!
owner is arrogant. store is filthy. selection is limited. looks like the music section of a pawn shop.
Horrible service the owner ignored me when I asked to play
Make sure that you buy your merchandise from inside the store !! Do not get it from EBAY because you will end up with trash..
19. Creative Music Center
Address: 701 Main St, Monroe, CT 06468 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
My daughter loves her piano lessons at Creative Music Center.
Nice music store in Monroe, we bought a cute ukulele here!
I love this place, i go in just to look at the product and I always end up buying something.
I just went to this store with my violin wanting the sound post set and to re-hair my bow. When I walked in there were two ladies at the counter. As I opened my case asking the the lady in the white turtle neck with straight brown hair if they re-hair bows? She snapped that they didn’t. The nice girl next to her chimed in as said out loud “She re-hairs bows?” Then the other lady gave a look and said I would need to buy a new one! She then picked up my violin and started to point out things about my only violin that were not good enough for her to re-set my sound post! I then asked “How much to just re-set the sound post?” She refused me service and said “Good Luck!” AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN! I think I didn’t fit the “type” they prefer to give services to?
Poor customer service.
Came here with my son they were very rude to my son and not very knowledgeable… wouldn’t come back here again and don’t recommend it.
20. Guitar Center
Address: 839 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489 , Alforja , Connecticut , United States
This place has everything you might want. My first time here but I don’t play any instruments but there’s a lot here. Big store with lots of help around.
TREY & JOSE ARE MY GOOD GOD MUSIC CONNECTION…I is in the process of working on getting a new Numark M6 DJ Mixer for a friend and Johnathan did the leg work for I…Possibly a new Guitar Center DJ Music Connection
bought my Martin here, guys are great
Very few collections
Ok, but but small as far as guitar centers go, not much invintory. much happier with Manchester.
Reasonable prices. I loved their online sales staff out of Utah. When the mandolin I ordered wasn’t available, Josie worked to get me a slightly better model at the same price. She really took the time to understand my needs.
Horrible customer service
Rude employees. The younger guy was so rude. And it seemed like he wanted nothing to do with us.
