A jewel in Bellflower, it’s a store and they also have instructors to teach the kiddos instruments! I found them online, I called to inquire and all information was provided over the phone. Very simple process and my daughters were able to begin Piano lessons, soon after. The area is nice to walk around. The staff very professional, patient and welcoming! It’s a fun store to walk through as they have so many instruments, books and antiques included!
Great mom & pop shop.
Cuz it’s where I get my supplies it’s also where people can learn how to play
A but crowded but nice people.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of instruments and accessories. They offer instruction for several instruments and singing lessons.
Really fast and efficient service
Owner has very bad customer service she refused to allow her employee to help me by saying that they were to busy but I was the only customer in the store at the time she also speak to her employees in a very rude manner I been a customer for a couple of years and always had a great experience with the employees I think the owner can learn something from her employees maybe she should stay in the back room and never come out I will no longer shop here and I will make sure none of my friends and family that I always recommend this place to will not shop here either
By phone, they give you a price, and when you get it, you raise it before taxes, they do not respect the price given. I will not go back to this place.
THIS PLACE IS WRONG I DROVE OVER 50 MILES TO PURCHASE A LESLIE SPEAKER FROM THEM,BUT THEY HAD IT PUT UP SOMEWHERE IN THEIR CLASS ROOM, WHERE YOU CAN’T GET TO IT! THEN THEY SAID THAT THE LESLIE I WANTED TO BUY, COMES WITH A HAMMOND ORGAN BUT THEIR ADVERTISING ON THEIR WEBSITE DIDN’T SAY THAT!!! I’M SO HURT WITH THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT I’LL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!!!
2. Morey’s Music Store Inc
Address: 4834 Woodruff Ave #576, Lakewood, CA 90713 , Alondra Park , California , United States
They restrung my daughter’s most loved backpack guitar. It sounds beautifully!
I’ve been a Morey’s customer since my first cello when I turned 8. The customer service, extensive knowledge, and product selection are the best you’ll find in the greater LA area. Lucky for me, I’ve always lived within a few minutes so heading over there was never an issue. As a music student at CSULB shopping at Morey’s saved me tons of times, especially when it came to buying strings thanks to their great student discount program. Boy I sure do miss those days. Regardless, this is still the only music shop I’ll ever be a patron of. In addition to sales they have amazing technicians who can fix instruments quickly and at a fair price. Thank you for all of your years of service to the musicians of Long Beach, Lakewood and beyond!
Great music store
I’ve read all the previous reviews and believed they were lacking cunstructive feedback. Both times I arrived at Moreys Music Store I was very pleased with the attitudes of all the employees that work there. Very humble and not judgmental. The store was clean and organized as expected in most entrepreneur sheet music stores you’ll find. There customer service keeps me coming back, unfortunately, the focus on pianos, piano parts, piano repair, and keyboard repair is a almost non existent and I assume most likely do to the limited space, capacity, and customer traffic. Granted, they did refer me to, with business cards, where I can find the help I needed. Also they have plenty of trainers, for all levels of skill, for almost all modern instruments I’ve learned from one of the employees. This will be the only place I get all of my sheet music from in Lakewood/Long Beach area.
Good attention
Not knowledgeable about guitars!! They use to be great.
More’s music store doesn’t sell saxophone mutes and they probably don’t even know what a saxophone mute is so they should probably search up saxophone mute on the internet (bad service).
I don’t know what to say about this place but it’s been one of the worst places I’ve ever been to and the prices are very high plus they treat you very rude
3. Caveman Vintage Music
Address: 3231 N Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90031 , Alondra Park , California , United States
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Packed with legendary music equipment. The only way to get higher quality used gear is to buy a time machine and go back 50 years.
Great collection of working antique musical instruments!
The owner is down to earth. His name is Eric I think.
Good variety of vintage instruments, worth a visit for any musician. They have a large record selection too.
Not a crazy selection of music, but good enough for 20 mins of browsing. They do have a good collection of 2nd hand electric guitars and amps
Nice for everything walk, jog ,run, take a nap, see ducks, see squirrels and my favorite bike ride. It’s a great park
Great
Nice place
I think its time to do a little thinning out of the bird population at the pond birds have become aggressive charging people for food…soo many birds you can’t walk to the pond to enjoy it
Nice park
Not good no fish
bunch of thugs around there. Avoid if you have kids!!!
No tiene buen servicio de baños
6. Sanford’s Vintage
Address: 4950 Deland Ave, Pico Rivera, CA 90660 , Alondra Park , California , United States
Cool record store with great selection in the Latin department and oldies. The pricing is just right, considering the gouging that’s currently taking place within the record collecting community (simply look at Amoeba records). Friendly and helpful staff overall. Found a few gems for a buck…. Which reminds me that I need to stop buying records compulsively. Will visit again when in the area.
I picked up a beautiful mid century credenza from Sanford’s Vintage. The piece was exactly as photographed and described, price was fair, and communication was quick and efficient. I’d buy from them again and recommend to family and friends.
The guy who works there is super friendly, greeted us when we walked in, not pressuring you to buy. The amount of vinyls different music genre great affordable prices not to mention….support your local independent shops…definitely hitting this shop more frequently from now on!!!
Cool record shop. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of vinyl. I follow them on social media so i go when i know they have something i want. Go dig in the crates and have a good time
Vintage,prices ok
Great stuff very helpful service if you’re looking for 60 70s retro this is the place to go
I was passing through this area and thought I’d check this place out. Bought a $25 Colombian Cumbia record the clerk was playing. Sounded good, I didn’t think I needed to inspect it. I get home and put it on, low and behold it has an overbearing very loud noise throughout the first few tracks on both sides. I take a closer look… giant brown stain on both sides of the LP, like someone spilled boiling soup on it. The rest of the record while listenable also sounds quite bad. Not to mention the cover, totally split on one side (it was in plastic in store). The clerk also said how rare these records are in the US… that may be, but I looked it up… $29 VG+ copy on discogs, $45 shipped. $25 for this thing? The store on my corner in LA that also sells hard to come by Latin American records would 100 percent never sell this thing for more than $10 tops. And this is Pico Rivera… come on now. But more importantly, unless it’s in the $1 bin (where this belongs), you should obviously always tell the customer if he or she’s buying a thrashed record. Unreal. Tried calling a few times on different days during their business hours to try to give this guy a chance to explain and make it right, no answer. Buyer beware I guess!
You need to make a appointment first, don’t like it.You are not in Beverly Hills.
Owner profiles you/harasses you with questions, records sit in room temp which could reach the high 90s and may damage the integrity of the record (they have no AC at this store)
7. Cottonwood Music Emporium
Address: 2967 Randolph Av C, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 , Alondra Park , California , United States
Jim the owner is awesome! Love this place and their staff is awesome. Visit this spot if you’re in town and like music!
If you love guitars and guitar related gear this is a great shopping experience. The owner will set you up with a guitar and pedals then leave you to figure out what you want. Can’t wait to go back
Simply put, this shop provided some of the most classy, stand-out customer service I have ever experienced as a consumer in my adult life.
Let me start with a story – for the past year, I’ve been excitedly saving and planning to buy a guitar on Prime Day 2019 through Amazon. When it finally rolled around, I was excited to see that D’Angelico was going to be discounting one of my favorite guitar models by a BIG margin from their MSRP. However, I saw that they only had 2 left in stock, and Prime had only a few hours left to go. So I ordered it and began the painful waiting process while my new guitar made its way to me through the postal service. Five days later, I got home from work to see a large D’Angelico-branded box sitting on our porch. I could not be more excited. I grabbed it, took it into my office, and began opening it. As I unzipped the case, however, I was stunned.. I’d be sent the wrong model….my stomach dropped. I immediately hopped on to Amazon to see if I could see where things went wrong – I looked at my order, and saw that it had been shipped and sold by Amazon, but saw that the last remaining Premier Bedford was being sold by Cottonwood – so I assumed they had accidentally sent me the wrong model.
I researched their number, called and left a message explaining the situation. Within an hour, I received a text back that they hadn’t been the ones to send me the guitar – and that Amazon pulls stock to ship from various shops around the country to fulfill orders if they don’t have them themselves. That totally made sense! Amazon said they’d refund my purchase once I returned it, but that they wouldn’t have the guitar in stock for the foreseeable future…I was mortified.
This is where Cottonwood stepped in and blew my mind.
I got a follow-up text from the shop saying that – although they didn’t have any involvement in my order or any responsibility for the snafu – they would be happy to match my Prime Day discount and ship me their last Premier Bedford with free shipping!!
I still can’t believe it. In no way were they responsible for the initial mistake – yet they went out of their way to rectify the situation for me even though they had no reason to! I am so impressed with their OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE. They have just guaranteed my customer loyalty for life. Wow. 10/10 experience. Still a bit mind-boggling. What a classy, unexpected act. They are impressive and deserve more attention as a shop. Especially in this day and age of big-box corporate music stores, I am so happy to advocate for this shop!
TL;DR: Make this your go-to boutique music provider, guitar / amp / pedal provider. 10/10 customer service. Polite, prompt communication, and professional experience.
8. Alpha Electronics Inc.
Address: 10943 Alondra Blvd, Norwalk, CA 90650 , Alondra Park , California , United States
Wow. Just wow! I haven’t been amazed by a business’ customer service in a long time but Ken and Alpha Electronics knocked it out of the park. The set expectations for me right from the first call.
I had to get my car radio fixed and wanted to keep the original factory model. I thought it’d be a job I could do myself but after talking to Ken he assured me I was in good hands. Right he was! If I’d have taken it apart myself what I thought was wrong would have caused a much larger problem. Ken knows his stuff. He had it fixed quickly on a Saturday no less with him even working later hours.
While other companies are shutting down, Alpha is flourishing and it is not hard to see why. Thank you thank you thank you Ken!
Great service for all electronics
They can fix anything you need audio or video
Very knowledgeable great place to have your electronics worked on and repaired
Honest , intelligent guys.
Tried to get me
Nice staff but they kept my tape deck over a month without fixing it. I had to call twice to inquire about the long turnaround and that’s when they told me they were looking for parts. I wouldn’t have heard anything had I not called. I finally gave up and said please reassemble my deck and I’ll pick it up. Gross lack of communication.
There’s one thing that I cannot stand when you call to see if they can provide the service that you need and you hear them all the information and they don’t even return your call
9. Forte Strings Violin Shop

앞으로도 쭈욱- 방문할 예정입니다!!
Deana and Eric are simply amazing people. My daughter wanted to upgrade her violin and they worked with us to get her a nice one suited for her needs and likings. Deana and Eric are musicians and they care about their customers having the right instrument. Thank you for your excellent service, guidance and kindness. Don’t make the mistake of going to another place. Come straight here for your string instrument needs.
10. American Music Store
Address: 1279 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas, CA 92024 , Alondra Park , California , United States
I sold several guitars and amps at AMX and I’m glad I chose this store. The owner was extremely patient with me as I hauled in one instrument after another for him to appraise. He also told me about the resources he uses to gauge each item’s value so that I could check if I was getting a fair deal (which I was). He took a good chunk of time out of his day just to give me a set of prices without the assumption that I would sell to him, which I thought was incredibly generous.
These guys are great! They did a fantastic job restringing and adjusting my bass. Very happy with the results 🙂
Great experience here. Staff was super nice, was greeted immediately and felt very welcome. Guitar picks are 2 for $1! Best Music Store in North County.
The shop leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve only dealt with the repair side of the shop, and after the last incident, I won’t be returning. The greying owner is of little to no value. Unhelpful. I brought a piece of gear to get fixed back in September or October of 2020. After about 4 weeks, I called the repair guy and he hadn’t yet looked at it. Understandable as he said they were busy. Another 4 weeks go by and I still hadn’t heard anything back, so I decide to call. The repairman had taken a look, couldn’t quite figure out the problem and said he’d be able to drop it off in a week as he just did a drop off and told me he tried to call me. When? I received no calls from him, no missed calls, nothing! I called this shop multiple times. Showed up 3 times between December 2020 and February 2021 during hours posted and nothing. Lights out. No sign. Nothing. Finally, after roughly 6 months of waiting to pick up my still broken gear, I called and finally got through to someone. He stated they were open till 6 and I told him I could be there by 545 and he said, “Well, I have things to do later” as if he wasn’t planning on even staying open that late.
Would’ve appreciated any sort of updates on the status of my gear instead of having to jump through hoops to figure out what was going on. Poor communication, rude service.
Place is cluttered with old equipment and guitars being worked on to the point where it feels unsafe to walk around to look at guitars on display. As for the guitars on display their all out of tune, dusty and not setup so they don’t feel playable. The man working the front seemed knowledgeable but reluctant to try and sell anything or help find guitars that weren’t up on display. Selection of gear seems limited/ used and or ill-maintained. Amps could not be tested because guitar lessons were taken place in the other room that must not have been sound proofed. I can’t speak for how good the guitar lessons are but as for the rest of the shop it seemed neglected and appeared to have no interest in selling any gear.
The owner of this store is the worst I’ve ever seen at any music store I’ve been to. I asked him to setup my guitar specifically to a lower tuning which he had no problem with and a full setup. The thing was, I was considering selling this guitar and possibly trading in for another one. So this guy gives me the offer that if I don’t like his setup, and it’s not perfect, I could trade mine for one of his on the wall. I said that’s a good idea because I barely had any money at the time. After the job the guitar had horrible tuning stability, dead frets, and a notch in one of the frets he told me that made the guitar unsellable and he wouldn’t touch it. Unbelievable I try to take it over and over again to get him to do the job right and he says the guitar isn’t meant for lower tunings. Maybe it would’ve been better to mention that at first. Pathetic. Waste your money elsewhere if you’re a sensible person
11. Eric’s Guitar Shop, Inc.
Address: 15452 Cabrito Rd #102, Van Nuys, CA 91406 , Alondra Park , California , United States
Great service, very knowledgeable, kind, fast turnaround and affordable.
I have been going to Eric’s for all my guitar tech needs for over 10 years. His work always exceeds my expectations. They play wonderfully, look gorgeous, and sound perfect. I can not imaging bring my beloved guitars to anyone else; I only trust my guitar tech/repair/mod work to Eric.
Eric is the best. Highly recommend.
There is an air of paranoia to enter the facility, requiring being buzzed in from an intercom from an upstairs parking structure. This is understandable given the undesirable location of the business. The repair price services are high as is customary in the San Fernando Valley. I can get the same work done in Los Angeles and East Los Angeles for less and in safer neighborhoods than this gang-infested one. The owner is passionate about his work otherwise I would give this one instead of three stars.
Love this place alot great albums were recorded hear
Good variety but pricey
Stay away from this place.
I brought in my guitar to change pickups, bridge and to set it up.
Got it back buzzing when bending on the 5th fret and with tremolo bar not working. His response was very arrogant and did nothing to fix it.
12. Gilmore Music Store
Address: 1935 E 7th St, Long Beach, CA 90813 , Alondra Park , California , United States
Legendary music spot with experts that can help with all of your recording and music needs
Helpful. Had what i needed.
Cool little music shop. They’ve got a little bit of everything. Fair prices. Stopped by to pick up some cables and pics and the staff was very kind.
Checked out the guitars, books and got some strings. Great staff!
Cool little store. Got a pretty nice used Casio digital piano here. They have a little drum nook. Lots of guitars. Wish they had more sheet music.
This place is wack… no recognizable brands… I mean they had a sennheiser e835 for 110… new they are 99.99 anywhere else… the main guy is super rude. Just walked out… will never be back.
The place doesn’t have well known guitars, kicks out people, you only have 5 min to try out the guitars, the only thing you can play is just the acoustics.
I was playing a song on the woodblock while having service to my guitar and the old guy in the back said I was ignoring him on purpose. He’s so cranky. I don’t want mean old scrooge grandpa to scold me. The store is over packed and cluttered anyway. Go to guitar center, they don’t get upset when an instrument is played. My mom has been supporting this business for years by taking me here. They’re overpriced anyway.
