Beautiful noise is the only place I’ve taken my instruments to be worked on in the last 20 years. Great work and affordable
Jason is extremely knowledgeable and is very helpful
I would like to give more Stars.however it is very small and only a handful of merchandise.they didn’t even have nylon strings.
Sry guys music store ? Not
2. Arkansas School Band Service Inc
Address: 508 Lillian, Benton, AR 72015 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
They are always super friendly and extremely helpful! I highly suggest using them!
Awrsome
I had to get my son some items for his school instrument. I had no idea where to go, but was recommended to visit this place. They had all the items I needed for a good price, and even recommended better options that saved me some money.
Very nice place
Lovely and very friendly staff. They are so welling and happy to help you with anything you need or may have questions about. Definitely recomend going here. Only reason didnt give them 5 stars, is some of the items/parts are pricey compared to online. But if you need it immediately or just cant find it online then go here. I’d also recommend comparing their price for what you need before making the decision. They have things on sale.
Very friendly staff!
The lady that works in here, is like you are bothering her when you come inside the store, like really? Anyways after coming back in to make a payment as my wife had forgotten to one time, she didn’t mind being nice once she knew she getting money. Flute is almost paid for, and will never come back if we need another item.
3. Arkansas Musicworks
Address: 2400 SE J St, Bentonville, AR 72712 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
Great selection of instruments and sheet music. The staff was super friendly and quick to help as well!
Such an awesome place. Go and check this place out. Wonderful staff to help you with all your music needs. Offer cleaning and restringing. Beautiful job
Great store. Best service
Nice guys old school music guys with a lot of knowledge
They carry a pretty good variety of brands. Good place to go if bored. Although they definitely need to change their drum policy, “You can only play the drums if you’re gonna buy them.” How is someone supposed to know if they want the drums unless they play them. You’ll just have to roll your dice I guess, not a good idea.
Beautiful looking stuff
Case And bow is falling apart. I wouldn’t recommend musicworks to anybody. Complete rip off. I got a 15 inch viola and within a year I had to get rid of it, because it was poorly made.
I was visiting Arkansas for a short time and had a last-minute need for an accessory for my USB microphone. I tried to call them numerous times over two days and no one ever answered the phone, nor did anyone ever return my call despite my leaving a message on the answering machine. So I risked it and drove to the store (because they were the only thing around the area), and when I got to the store I could see that unless I was a guitar player or drummer, I was probably out of luck. I just needed a wind sock for my microphone. They had ONE product that fit that description – with four socks, and all small. I finally had to settle on getting a popscreen instead. I honestly think in my particular situation I would’ve been better off ordering something online or going to BestBuy.
I bought a Zero Glide zero fret nut replacement through Amazon, but it was fulfilled and shipped by Arkansas Musicworks. I bought it 8/3/18. It is now 8/12 and there has been no shipment. Amazon emailed that the seller had not shipped within the time frame allotted and that I could cancel the order, follow up directly with Arkansas Musicworks, or whatever. I cancelled and will buy elsewhere. Never a peep out Arkansas Musicworks. Small item but they totally dropped the ball. Now I wouldn’t trust them for anything I need or am in a rush for.
4. Mountain View Music
Address: 123 W Washington St, Mountain View, AR 72560 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
Very experienced and knowledgeable, and always helpful! I’ve had several guitar setups done here, always very happy with the results!
The friendliest guitar place I’ve ever been. Knowledgable and genuinely interested in helping and passing on their expertise. This is mostly a repair shop — just a few instruments for sale — but worth a stop in even if you’re just looking.
They did great work and Im extremely happy with their work. They had an excellent turnaround time and the guys at the shop were friendly. They went the extra mile and even explained where I went wrong. Really brought the guitar to life.
Nice, friendly environment. This guys is experienced in his craft and genuine in the way he conducts business. A rare find these days.
Great spot, super amount of knowledge and experience with repairs among other services. Same problem everybody else has with out of stock items here and there.
Dishonest and lazy. He has earned that distinction with me after implying that I attempt to make and sell a counterfeit guitar on the market. His boundaries are not clear. He should have refused the work order instead of hemming and hawing trying to teach me a lesson in trademark infringement. I also hired him to put Seymour Duncans in a Squire. When I called him for progress report he said he was “working on it now”. I go back 2 weeks later and the Seymour Duncans hadn’t even arrived yet. I have no trust in dishonest and lazy people. Oh, and Bryon, please dont call me about this post. If you’re a good luthier, I suggest you keep your nose in the workshop out of site from the customers.
After many attempts trying to visit this place because it has been closed. I finally went into the store today and found the guy Dave not to be very friendly or welcoming. So I only stayed a few minutes. I won’t ever be back!
Took a vintage martin guitar for repair. Ended up with a bad experience. I’ll just leave it at that.
6. The Musician’s Exchange
Address: 2221 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR 72956 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
One of the best places I have been, they have lots of equipment and great prices will definitely shop here again
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. They made renting my daughter’s clarinet for school a breeze and fulfilled my order within 24 hours. Upon picking it up, they were very accommodating and also briefed me on a few key things I would have not otherwise known about. Pro Tip: make sure your child does NOT peel the label sticker off, as you will be out 3-4 weeks to order a new one in the event you need to send it in for repair. Musicians Exchange makes renting affordable. Highly reccomend. This is also Northridge Middle School’s music shop of choice!
Today my grandfather and I went in to but an amp he was previously told cost $350ish. He was so excited to get it. He hadn’t played in forever. He had a gig about a week ago but that was it for a long time and he didn’t have an amp for it. Well we got there and he was told it would be $150. My granddad doesn’t show emotion that well. But he started crying!! He was sooooo happy!!! He’s said he’s known the owner of the shop for a long long time and said “he’s always taken care of me.” Anywho… Made my week. Was the sweetest thing I’ve seen in a while. Y’all deserve more than 5 stars but sadly that’s the max on here. He’s been playing non-stop since we got home and it’s 8:30
Had a hard time trying any of the basses or bass amps….nothing was even plugged in…..had to run extension cords all over the place . Then the basses and amps were so crowded could not move to even try the gear out. Didn’t feel like rerunning power to the whole department to try any other amps out. Shame would have tried more gear out….but just wasn’t expecting to hook it all up myself. Sorry guys you lost a sale….take ten minutes plug In couple bass amps everyday instead of sitting out smoking…..dude you know who you are….you shut the door on my wife as you went back in after your cig break….seriously….Shame store has potential
Great places to take your child to get a school band instrument.
the staff is helpful. Just check the things out before you buy, the stuff is used so check it out and make sure it works the way you want it to work.
Hate it I could not find a clarinet ,:(
Unfriendly staff
Dropped my guitar off before Christmas was told it would be ready 2nd week of January. Called 3rd week was told not yet. Called 1st week of February was told it was being repaired. Called 4th week was told it would be ready today or tomorrow. Still not ready. Called March 2nd was told still not ready had not started on it had no idea when they would start on it or when it would be ready. Then the smart ass says if I am in a hurry I could just come and get it he did not care.
7. Quattlebaum Music Center
Address: 101 W Arch Ave, Searcy, AR 72143 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
Let’s play some town is wonderful customer service.
When you walk in the door you get this warm fuzzy feeling.
No music store I would rather support with my business!!!
Good people. Good service.
Small, quiet, local run music store. Good prices and owned by a knowledgeable friendly man who is happy to answer your questions. I’ll definitely be returning.
Nice friendly staff
Very rude to my wife and all she did was ask a queston please don’t do business with these people we don’t need rude people in this town.
They are selling stolen property.
Great home town store
8. Randy’s Music
Address: 146 E Main St, Batesville, AR 72501 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
I am in Randy’s a couple times a month picking up something for the young musicians in the family, and have even taken a few guitar lessons myself. The owner is helpful and lessons are reasonable. My favorite localy owned business in Batesville.
Selection consists of mainly guitars, basses and a few country oriented instruments. Limited selection.
Not a super big store with lots of options but they have the things I need
Great store
Biggest piece of trash you’ll ever meet in your life.
9. Billy’s House of Guitars
Address: 201 E Broadway, Glenwood, AR 71943 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
There is no other place quite like this one. Antiques and music memorabilia they would normally expect to find in a museum can be found right here in Glenwood. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner a few years ago but but even today the story is still amazing
Awesome place! If you love guitars, this is definitely a place to check out!
A showplace from a different place in time!!
Interesting place not a store as much as a museum
10. Guitar Center
Address: 12315 Chenal Pkwy A, Little Rock, AR 72211 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
The best place in Little Rock Arkansas for musicians to buy and sell all kinds of musical instruments.
Great selection and helpful staff.
Chris knows all, and is great at answering questions, I bought the flame top pro and it’s amazing, thanks Chris for all the follow up, you’re an asset to the team
Great and knowledgeable staff. Great selection. Great products. My only complaint is the prices are a little high (it’s the reason for -⭐) but we all know this about Guitar Center at this point, right? Nothing’s perfect.
Good service and attention
I like to buy gear from here every now and then, but I don’t really like their selection when it comes to guitars. It’s kind of lacking in some of their bigger brands like Schecter and Ibanez. They mainly have Fenders, which isn’t terrible, but sometimes you wanna see/play something different before you consider buying it. The staff is super helpful, and knowledgeable though!
These guys are the worst! I bought a loop station last week and when I got home I realized there was no power cord with the product. I called up there and spoke to the kid who sold it to me and he acted like I should have known it didn’t come with a power cord. I’m sorry, I just assumed that when u buy an electronic device it comes with the cord that powers it! Another time, a lady sold me a $20 card on the expectation that I will get $5 off a purchase every month for a year. What she didn’t tell me is that u have to make a purchase once a month for it to be valid. So I just basically donated $20 to guitar center because I was lied to.
A rude salesperson made me a happy Sweetwater customer. Too bad it wasn’t before I’d purchased too many items from GC.
Every time I email this store about a guitar never get a response. I did mess u and buy one guitar from them. It was a Gibson, not a cheap guitar. It let me order but after about 2 weeks they contacted me and told me they were out. So I asked to speak to a manager amazingly they found one. Terrible customer service. Went today to buy guitar strings for my Martin 000-18 because it said they were open. Well surprise they were only doing curbside online orders because they only had a few people working. They would not bring out one set of strings and let me buy. They need to take some lessons from sweetwater in customer service. I have a guitar center credit card but i will be canceling that because I’m done with them. They have lied to me for the last time. Also the acoustic room rarely has any high end martins to play. Mostly cheaper stuff. Very disappointed one of the only guitar stores around is like this. But none the less I’m done with them. Would have given them 0 star review if I could. Jason Roberts.
11. Rockabilly Music
Address: 16 N 6th St, Van Buren, AR 72956 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
These guys are the most knowledgeable people out there. I’ve been coming since I was a kid with my grandfather.
Great man
Diamond in the rough. This place is a wellspring of music in this town. Kinda out of the way. But they have all the stuff you need for playing. Great service the owner is very knowledgeable. Good prices.
Cool small town music store
Ok
I bought strings here a few times.
Called just now to ask if they hard guitar technicians, got a “well yeah”. I asked if they could help me set a neck on a guitar kit i had bought, “I dont have time for that, i can do it, but i dont have time for that”. I can buy strings anywhere. Haha. Goodness. I dont have time for that.
Open just for certain customers, they are going out of business because everyone is using the web to buy. Alot of old vintage instruments in there.
Not much in store but friendly and helpful
12. Arkansas School Band Services Inc
Address: 1023 S Arkansas Ave, Russellville, AR 72801 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
One heck of a great group of guys. bought a Taylor GS mini there and they totally hooked me up I cannot recommend them high enough.
These guys are very helpful and I like the store.
Great place to shop,
However one small issue I had there was when I was wanting to repair my Fender Guitar. The guitar was beat up a bit, had no strings, paint was damaged, and the knobs for the tuning were gone and the plate was cracked. My friend found it in an abandoned place and it was a decent guitar it was just badly damaged.
I went there to the receptionist and all I got was, “You are better off buying a new guitar” Etc. He was insistent on me just buying a new guitar. It was a very arrogant moment.
There are good thing’s about the place but from my only experience on this It was a huge waste of my time trying to repair, love the shop, the staff is pretty chill but I believe there can be changes.
I have been coming here for years as most of the reviewers. I have always had a decent experience. I’m just an amateur guitar player who doesn’t practice much and i don’t know much about music. I have to be fair and mention that, yes, the staff has at times, seemed curt and disinterested but I’ve never had an out-and-out bad experience here. It’s possible that they were simply just distracted or overwhelmed, it happens! I got lessons here from a swell guy several years ago. I wish i could remember his name. They seem to have a large variety of items like accessories-tuners, picks, strings, stands for your chords, chord books, guitar cases and guitars. They offer stringing services, although I’ve never used them. I think I’ve seen a few banjos and mandolins for sale over the years, although those may have been instruments taken on trade, i don’t know for a fact if they stock and sell those instruments. I also don’t know if they do trade-in as I’ve never had anything to trade. I have seen ukuleles there for sale. It is possible that they have expanded the lessons they offer into other instruments, such as wind instruments but I am not sure. That would depend entirely upon there being any such instructors available here in Jonesboro that don’t already have their own business giving lessons. That’s a lot of “maybes”. It would be good to call and just ask, if this is important to you. I do know that they used to give drum lessons, it’s possible they still do. If you are a musician or have a musician in your life, check this place out!
Yeah, I like the shop, but didn’t have the best experience. I brought my classical guitar in from out of town, and called first to specifically ask if they could restring with nylon wound. I brought another electric guitar in as well, since it needed new strings too. When I picked them up, they were both restrung, but my classical guitar was restrung with steel strings, not what I asked. They said they were out of nylon strings, but that these would work. It really changed the whole sound, and was not what I wanted. They didn’t show me the package, or indicate what type of strings for either guitar, but the invoice for both was almost $100! No set up, or anything, just a re-string. And I have no idea what they put on there. I guess it’s probably my fault that I have no time to put on my own strings, so let that be a lesson to me.
Been going here for almost a decade. Probably the most condescending and overall lackluster service you can get in Jonesboro. If you’re a musician and you have a question, prepare for a rough time. Great inventory, bad pricing.
I’m being harsh with my rating, but in my defense I’ve been here at least thirty times in my life and have some terrible stories to go along with my dissatisfaction. There are things that you just do not do in customer service.
Sadly enough, the decent music stores have all closed up. Backbeat and All star are all we really have left and they are equally bad.
EDIT: Not sure if All Star is still open actually; don’t let that diminish my credibility. I avoid these places like the plague.
Darrel Sykes, one of the employees, was absolutely rude and passive aggressive to me the first time I walked in there. He told me that the music scene here is cliquish then proceeded to ignore the fact I was in the store after trying to sell me a cheap-o condenser mic (I was looking for an AT4040). Trying to give them another shot after a couple of years I took a bass there for a repair, restring, and a set-up. The guitar tech was curt, impersonal, and left the old strings on there. When I went to pick it up, Darrel, another guy, and someone who I believe is the owner just stood there talking to each other for several minutes before seeing why I was there. There were no other customers visible. My bass turned out to be unplayable when I got it home, every note buzzed, and the saddles were lowered as far as they could go.
The inventory is lacking and the aloofness of the staff makes the place a total disappointment. I’ll drive to Memphis, Nashville, or St. Louis to outfit my home studio. I would advise any parent looking to get their teenager started on an instrument to look elsewhere.
Edit in response to the owner’s reply:
If by “imagine it” you mean how your staff actually treated me, then yes, that’s exactly how it happened.
14. Saied Music Company
Address: 2921 Lakewood Village Dr, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
They are mostly a band store, but they are musicians – they like music. And they do carry guitars and amps. Really nice guys to hang with
Fin place to shop.
GREAT customer service, they didn’t have a tuba in store but they were able to get one from another store and have it brought to the store in NLR, I really appreciate their helpfulness as well as kindness.
Good variety. Little bit of everything
Good selection…
Really cool place to look around and have a lots of books, drums and other stuff for band type instruments.
The absolute worst store ive ever been in will not be back
A few months ago, I visited Saied Music’s North Little Rock location to look into used flutes (online flutes are too hit-or-miss, I discovered, so I wanted to be able to try one before buying). Not wanting to spend a small fortune on an instrument I wasn’t sure I’d stick with, I figured used would be a safe bet.
The gentleman who was working that day showed me a Jupiter flute that had a price tag of $380 or $385 (I just distinctly remember it being in the $380 range). It had a head joint with a gold-plated lip plate that I found rather garish, but for the price, I was willing to consider it once I tried it and realized it played fairly easily. So, I went home to think on it, but I ultimately put off getting a flute for awhile.
Yesterday, I returned, and lo and behold, they had the same flute still in stock. However, this time a different guy brought it out, and the price had been removed, leaving only a partial green tag with some text on it. The man made a fairly loud show of talking to the other guy, who had originally showed it to me the first time I saw it, saying that, since it had a green tag, he could sell it for below the “book price.” He thumbed through a binder, ran his finger down a list of prices, and landed on $480. Then, he quoted me $450, saying that price was $30 below list.
I immediately thought of the scene in Legally Blonde when the clothing boutique worker pulls a tag off a dress from last season and tries to sell it to Elle for a huge mark-up, believing her to be too uninformed to know any better.
I closed the case without taking another look, then left the store without saying another word.
I lost all trust in Saied Music in that instant, and I will not return.
Not very much guitar stuff. Didn’t even have strap studs.
15. Music Center
Address: 2809 W 28th Ave, Pine Bluff, AR 71603 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
I really love this place and the people here are quite nice! Some things like tuners are a tad over priced but the nice people and good service is amazing there and if they don’t have what you’re looking for they check in on their other stores (in fort smith for example) to see if they have it there! They get the job done 😀
Friendly staff.
They always have just what we need.
The repair guys are always fantastic!
Always very helpful. Some hard to find items too.
Everyone is easy to talk to and friendly. They carry a wide assortment of musical equipment. Typically geared for the student musician.
Awful service. Bought strings for my guitar, and since im not very good at putting them on and they were the most expensive strings, i left my guitar for them to put the strings on for me bc they said theyd do it for free and that they would call me within a day or so. I waoted almsot a week and figured that i must have missed the call and went there to get my guitar. They hadnt even touched it and told me that it would be several more days before they could get to it. I just went ahead and took my guitar. Never getting my business again im just gonna go to guitar center.
Do not let them store your debit card on file. I have an unauthorized charge on my account. ONLY PAY THEM THROUGH THE WEBSITE, NOT OVER THE PHONE.
When I got there I was excited to be buying a ukulele something I’ve been wanting since I was little and when I asked how much taxes were because $82 up from the $54 seemed outrageous the man said idk and didn’t even check it just took an extra $21 and when I was asking questions about other instruments he had. No information literally making me. Still waiting on the money to be back in my account had to go to bed hungry tonight
17. Houck Music Co
Address: 806 W Main St, Cabot, AR 72023 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
The best music store! Staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the instruments. They have great prices. The best place for your musical needs.
Guy who owns/runs it is really friendly and cool. a better place to buy than Guitar Center

19. Remix Music
Address: 3855 Elm Springs Rd, Springdale, AR 72762 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
Great group of guys. Great pedal and bass selection. Would recommend a monthly visit.
Love this place! Awesome staff, very friendly and knowledgeable.
Firstly, this shop provides great service on guitars, setups and string changes. But beware of purchasing a guitar that is not currently hanging on their shelf. For example, the Fender American Professional II Strat, comes in 9 different colors. If you want a color that isn’t hanging on their wall, they will offer to get it for you, but it will be considered a “special order” and not eligible to be returned. This is an odd policy since they are an authorized Fender dealer. If you order the guitar direct from Fender, or Sweetwater, or any other online retailer, the guitar is eligible for return no questions asked. So essentially, trying to support a small shop will eliminate any guarantees offered by the manufacturer. Understand, I realize a small shop has limitations and must do what’s best for their bottom line. However, it was never communicated to me “hey if I order this guitar for you, it’s unreturnable.” The thought never crossed my mind to ask, since the item I ordered was a stock offering from Fender, nothing special or custom about it. It’s extremely surprising that a Fender dealer is not able to provide the same customer satisfaction policies that are in place by Fender themselves. Most of the guitars hanging on the walls are mid-tier or entry level guitars, so if you want something better, and you want the peace of mind to return it if you’re not happy with it, then I suggest looking elsewhere. If you need a great setup on your guitar, ReMix can do it.
Friendly’s staff knows equipment.
We bought a guitar here for our son a couple weeks back. One guy was way too salesy and talked too much but I like supporting local so we bought one.
I will never deal with them again,
Horrible experience at this place, I was sold a Trumpet that was WAY over priced, When I went to go and try to receive a refund I was told I should of been charged a cleaning fee as well. The owner did not process my refund correctly and I was told go deal with it with my bank. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A HEADACHE OR TO BE RIPPED OFF.
Didn’t like the guy’s attitude or the prices. I probably won’t be back.
20. Guitar Center
Address: 160 E Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703 , Bea , Arkansas , United States
Great customer service! I am a Veteran and they restrung my guitar for free on Veterans Day even when they were short-handed. My hat is off to them!
Muy completo en cuanto a guitarras se refiere
Great service and prices… we have bought several guitars and ukele’s here! Top notch quality at outstanding deals!
Decent prices for in store. Their employees are always helpful.
Nicely laid out store. Wish the employees know a bit more about their products.
Valli very nice and helpful .
I entered the store pretty frustrated after receiving my online order from GC. My “new” guitar was definitely not in new condition with cracks and dings. The employees were very polite during the return, gave me a full refund without hassle and helped me purchase a pristine guitar off the wall. I walked away very pleased with the experience.
UPDATE: Don’t visit unless you’re okay with being rushed to buy something or leave. They’re limiting customer count to 5 due to COVID19 (understandable). However, when I explained I’m letting my child try out a couple guitars to figure which one he prefers, the sales associate told me we need to wrap it up and leave if we aren’t going to buy. This is after maybe 8 minutes in the store. I just hope my boy wasn’t too disillusioned by his first experience in a guitar store. I probably won’t be returning anytime soon.
So, I order two 18″ Sabian cymbals months ago. Only one came in and they told me the other was on backorder. So, after a couple more months, I contact them again and they tell me it’ll be in around October 15th. I contact them yesterday after of course not receiving a cymbal and they tell me the cymbal has been discontinued, this after going through two customer service reps. One of which, ended the chat with me when we were still chatting. Basically, they sold me a bill of goods. I ordered two of the same cymbals for a reason. I can’t do anything with one 18″. Now, all they offer is 16″ and 20″. So I asked them how they were going to make it right. They offered nothing besides me ordering a 20″. So I suggested that they take the 18″ back, credit that towards my account for two 20″ and put me back on the same interest free financing I had before. They agree to do that, but then only gave me a $235 credit. They originally charged me $499 for the cymbal but credit me less than half the price. All of this, after I’ve spent thousands of dollars with them the past year….an entire new kit plus hardware and cymbals. You do the math. Oh, and this is all their online service. This isn’t the GC in Fayetteville. But this is the only review I can post, so unfortunately, the local store has to bear the anger b/c GC corporate/online doesn’t care about the actual local stores or customers.
Thanks for providing horrible customer service, Guitar Center. I’ll never go back! And I will make it my mission to spread the word about how you do business with musicians and take hundreds of dollars from them.
