Restrung and cleaned up my daughters guitar. Looks like new! Friendly owner!
My 12 yr old goes here for drum lessons. They do an amazing job. Staff is courteous and accomadating.
I could not be more happy with Rhapsody Music! As a working adult, they helped me find lesson slots that fitted my schedule. They also were able to move at my pace perfectly and didn’t hold me back. Shout-out to Nathan for being an excellent piano teacher – I recommend him to everyone now! They are super helpful and friendly here. I love what they are doing for the community here.
Super friendly and helpful. The staff and music teachers are awesome!

Mrs. Kristin’s class is fabulous. She is so engaging with our littles and is so great at building their confidence as they grow through her program. To see how my daughter is learning to hear notes, read music, and understand music terminology without even realizing she is learning has been such a pleasure. I am looking forward to watching her continued progress with Mrs. Kristin as her guide!
So much fun! We look forward to class each week and our little one is learning so much! She’s patient and kind and makes learning feel like play time! Highly recommend checking her out for your own family!
Our son has learned so much from Mrs. Kristin and her classes are amazing!! She is able to give such great support and guidance when needed. We are still blown away by how much he has learned and how much fun our son has in the classes. We can’t wait to continue to see our son grow in Mrs. Kristin’s classes.
3. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 4402 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304 , Anthem , Arizona , United States
I love Sam Ash! Always a pleasant experience. Friendly staff and a huge selection to choose from.
Cool store but ain’t no cd players
Sam Ash is a real asset to the music community in Phoenix AZ. Andrea in Live Sound was extremely helpful and patient in helping me with mixing my bands sound. I have also purchased guitars and other equipment from the store.
Sam Ash also puts on great clinics on how to use the equipment that they sell. They get it…
If you are looking for an instrument, advice or just need help this is the place to go. If they don’t have it they can get it. Way to go Sam Ash Phoenix!!!
This is a great place to buy instruments but only when they’re open
I purchased a guitar yesterday 2/19/2021. The staff was very friendly, and more than willing to help. They acted very professionally and you can tell the people really enjoy what they do. I’ll purchase from them again.
When I am looking for woodwind instruments. Here is where I look
i recently purchase a presonus audio box for 220.00$ and the sales man said i would receive a gift card in mail in two weeks .never came was in the store for other things and ask about the card 2 months later the rep.nick issued me another .it had a june 30 i purchase some string on july 8 thinking they might honor the card they did not and i paid full price for the strings.it a little thing but those little thing never leave your mind.
As me and my friends were trying out some drums we were told by a white Lady to let some white guys try them out. Also when we went to look at the sticks the lady followed us and watched us the entire time. This was a very uncomfortable situation and I will never return here, we are Hispanics and I don’t feel that we should be treated this way. I usuall don’t get offended by these things but this lady was very disrespectful. I’m not sure what her name was but she was working in the drum department.
I’ve been here a few times and never once have I been asked if I need help or if they could be of service to me, I.E ( do their job) so they had a for sure sell and lost it to bad customer service so I went to the guitar center and they got my money!
4. J&M Guitar
Address: 13439 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85022 , Anthem , Arizona , United States
Was assisted by a very knowledgeable gentleman (that I assume is the owner judging by his demeanor).
He got me set up with the right equipment quickly whilst still providing a rich amount of insight.
This place was a far drive for me, but the trip was worth it.
Knowledgeable staff was able to provide information and parts to fix my guitar that the other 2 big box guitar stores were not. In the future I will be shopping Boogie first!
I have been working with Boogie Music/Drum Alley for 6 years now. They have tremendous support for musicians and educators in the Valley who have reasonable expectations of prices and services. They have in many cases gone out of their way to help me get the job done for my program. They will special order anything you ask for. Their rental instruments are in good repair and tend to be better then I can afford to provide students when compared to school instruments. Their luthier (string repair technician) completely rebuilt one of my orchestra basses to better than it’s previous playing condition. I highly recommend this shop for anyone.
They are very helpful and answer my questions about learning how to play the guitar.
I got my first drum set from Boogie 20 years ago. They’ve been in business a long time! They have competitive pricing and a pretty good selection of great. I would suggest Boogie music over one of the larger chain music stores because of their competitive pricing, in-depth knowledge of their products, and quality customer server.
I have been renting a flute from Boogie music for my daughter for 3 years now. DON’T believe the 100% return on all rental fees towards purchase of a new instrument! There are loopholes for them. Not 100% of the fee you pay a month is the rental fee, roughly 2/3 is. They also only will give you this credit if you are purchasing a higher end instrument. I will have to rent a flute from them for 8 years to pay for the 1000 dollar flute they will give me the credit on. They have a much cheaper flute on their websight, but say it is not American made and that one will not count towards the credit.
While they do have repair facilities and will fix anything broken, they have not done any maintenance or cleaning on this flute in 3 years and when asked if they would, I was told bring it in and they will check it out, but no maintenance is needed.
This flute has been fine for her in grade school, but I will need to pay for it almost all the way through high school to get the trade in they will do. Just be careful make sure your child wants to play an instrument forever before getting into the contract if you want to be able to get any trade in credit.
Worst music store in Phoenix! Old man that works there has a bad attitude and lies about guitar prices! Definitely not going back there ever again!
IDIOTS
Was treated very rudely by the owner. Went there to try to sell them a guitar and he looked at my guitar and very rudely in my opinion said he wasn’t interested at all then I continue to look around the store for a little bit with some friends. I saw a stand up bass which I wanted to play in the Jazz way there was no sign or anything mentioning that this was not theirs and that this was someone’s that was there for repair. I started to play on it after moving it from where it was and the owner came back and said something to the effect of that’s not ours man that’s here for repair or something else similar. He did not at all say excuse me but that’s not our instrument can you please put it back in like a nice calm manner he said it in a way that I took very rudely and that you’ve been my friends which was 3 agreed was very rude. On top of that I feel like although the store is kind of cool because it does have some older vintage instruments from the early 20th century I just personally think that I Won’t Go Back unless that is my only option. Not everyone probably gets rude customer service but I definitely did.
6. Monty’s Music
Address: 4845 E Greenway Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 , Anthem , Arizona , United States
They don’t close at 6. The sign says 6ish. Literally. That means before 5:45 anyway.
I love these guys, but just close at 5 or whatever. 6ish isnt helpful at all.
It was 5:20 when I pulled up and it didn’t look like anyone had been in the store all day. The sign says open until 6ish. Mom and pop store or not if your sign says sixish stay open until at least 6 for crying out loud. I own my own small business and could not imagine doing something so selfish and stupid to turn away a customer.
Monty seems to be a bit of a strange fellow. Definitely rubbed me the wrong way. When I was talking to him about my guitars he was making sarcastic remarks. Definitely not going back and certainly not purchasing.
I called on the phone and asked if they had any used French Horns for sale. He said that they had one and that it had 4 valves and it was old. I asked him how much and he said $399. I was looking for a 4 valve “double” French horn so I drove 30 minutes to his shop to take a look. When I get there he pulls the Horn off of a top shelf and opens it for me. It was a crappy 3 VALVE Conn that was probably from the 70’s. It was not what he said it was, and there is no way it was worth even $200.
Do not go there unless you have to. I should have listened to the other reviews.
7. Music & Arts
Address: 5350 W Bell Rd #132, Glendale, AZ 85308 , Anthem , Arizona , United States
Good, has piano keyboards, trombones, guitars, and more
I went in to purchase something I know nothing about for my daughter’s newest instrument. The lady was very helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are a bit steep but it’s the most convenient place I know of to get any product we need for any kind of instrument in a hurry.
Great experience, friendly and helpful staff.
Staff was super
I was there picking up a instrument for my grandson The associate in the store was very helpful an courteous. For me it was a good experience
It has a small, mostly student level selection of guitars and amps. I asked the salesman a direct question about whether he carried a specific product, and he just kept rolling. So I looked around for a second, and split.
More of a gift shop then a music store. Non musician sales people, don’t have a clue.
We went to Music and Arts for two years. During that time, we loved our childs piano teacher. however, there would be times where they would not contact us if the teacher had cancelled our session. We had a hard time rescheduling these times. When our childs piano teacher moved, we were assigned to a new teacher who we were not happy with. After multiple times of trying to reschedule missed lessons, we decided to leave. After we left, we tried to receive a credit and we were told that since we had signed the original agreement that stated if we miss a lesson, we would not be refunded at all. I requested to speak to a manager and was told he was not in on Tuesdays and he would call me back. He never did. It is very disappointing to run a business with horrible customer service.
Worst experience . Executives are giving different answers on rental instruments . Very bad experience

Bought my first acoustic guitar here, Adrian made sure I got the best deal using all the available coupons and resources to assist me in my new journey to becoming a guitarist.
I had to go in for a stuck mouthpiece on a trumpet. The young man behind the counter was very helpful and knowledgeable. Nice selection of guitars as well.
Excelente tienda
NIce store and studios. The gal working there is very nice, but isn’t so familar with their products and services, otherwise I’d give it a five star rating.
Three stars. There’s not enough supplies for a beginning tenor saxophonist. I’m sure my rating will be higher once the supply chain situation improves.
went in one day and had a guy that was just starring at people coming in, store was empty, i didn’t stay for long because of how uncomfortable it was, especially with how quite it was in the store so it made it extra awkward, i couldn’t shop around without the uncomfortable feeling of someone just standing there and starring
Needed to pick up some guitar picks. Entered the store with no greeting. The gentleman was helping a customer. No big deal. I looked around for what I needed and found it. Waited to patiently to ourchases. The guy was trying to sell a small electric quitar that apparently wasn’t functioning. Thankfully I didn’t have any questions and could easily go somewhere else. Which is what I did and recommended you do as well.
DONT GO HERE!!!!
Paid to have my daughters flute tuned up, pass, springs, etc. less than two months later a pad is falling off. I returned to the store and was met with a rude supervisor who told me to just call him Ty, he wouldn’t give me his name. When I inquired about a rental he told me there was no way I would get a free rental even when it’s been less than two months and we already paid good money for both a rental AND their repairs. Once “ty” was done talking AT me he told me I was being hostile after every question I asked him and then he just rolled good eyes, crossed his arms and told me to let him know if I would be leaving my daughters flute there. Absolutely would not recommend this place. I’m going to contact corporate as well. DON’T GO HERE!
9. Ziggie’s Music
Address: 3309 N 3rd St Ac, Phoenix, AZ 85012 , Anthem , Arizona , United States
Cool spot to visit when we’re in town! Dion is always awesome and helpful!!
Lots of amps and guitars
The BEST! Still has the mom and pop courtesy of yesterday but today’s needs for the musician. Thank you for helping me out!
You guys are the best.
The perfectly imperfect music store with a hometown feel.
Very helpful the information what’s good
Store hours say 10 til 6 M thru S but they don’t follow them…..went by at 230 and no one showed up…..zero stars if I could
literally 30 minutes b4 it was supposed to close me my mom and friend were trying to get in it was closed and we were looking in it was dirty that didn’t bother me it was just the fact there were no employees there 30 before close hours meaning it wasn’t we had just missed it meaning they had closed before hand
Was looking for a decent music store but this is not it. The place is dirty, and only carries used gear. The selection was very disappointing. Look elsewhere
10. Guitar Center
Address: 2750 W Peoria Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029 , Anthem , Arizona , United States
Such friendly people, were able to help me figure out the best keyboard for me at the right price.
Best prices! Best combos!
Wally and the rest of the staff are always welcoming and know us by name. Wally knows us and recàlls everything we need and is always going above and beyond to make each visit excellent and fulfilling. Thank you Wally
Used to love guitar center, but they just seem to be getting more and more over priced, and under staffed. I waited, with 3 other people, for ten minutes in the pro audio department before finally going to another department to ask for help, all so that i could by a five foot xlr cable for 20 dollars. I immediately went home and ordered cable and connecters… from now on im soldering my own.
Selection was lacking (due to covid-19 I assume)
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
I ended up getting a new guitar
Nice people were helpful in finding what were looking for.
To noisy
Clerks all seemed too terribly busy to be concerned with my business…
The staff here were not very friendly, and not very helpful, I’d rather order online.
