I purchased a beginner flute for my daughter for under $100! I will definitely come back here to upgrade her flute as she gets better. The staff are friendly. This is a small, but friendly music store.
Ms. Lee is a great piano teacher. She’s very patient with my two daughters.
Great place to get music supplies
Nice friendly store with so so selections
My review is based mostly on my customer service experience. I went in and told the young lady behind the desk that I was looking to rent a cello for lessons. She asked what size and I told her I did not know, that this was all new to me but it would be for me (an adult). She then told me the cost. I asked if I could hear the different cellos. In reading up on renting a cello, one article recommended that you hear the cello so that you could judge by the sound which one you prefer. It also indicated that the cost and quality of the cello is often reflected in the sound. The young lady looked at me as if I was crazy and asked what I meant by could I hear them. I explained to her that I wanted to judge the sound of the different cellos and she told me that for student cellos there is just one. I then asked her if the rental came with the bow and rosin and if there was anything else I would need. She then told me the rental came with the bow but she didn’t know what else I needed because she didn’t play. Hmmm…. not really helpful I thought. So I again leaned on the information I had read up on and asked to purchase the rosin and a beginners book. The young lady went and got the cello and book. I then asked her if the instrument would be tuned or if that was extra. She looked a little surprised and then told me it would be tuned. Then she proceeded to turn the knobs on the cello and pick at the strings. I thought to myself, just two seconds ago you told me you don’t know anything about the cello, you don’t play and don’t know what i need to begin lessons but now I’m supposed to trust you are tuning the instrument? She then handed it back to me and said, “it’s tuned”. We filled out the paperwork and she ran my card. I repeatedly looked her in the face and smiled, first because it is polite, second because I am depending on her for assistance and third, I was hoping to evoke some professional courtesy from here. It didn’t work. She handed me my rental agreement and looked back down at what she was doing. There was no attempt to educate me or provide me with any helpful information in any way. Most specialty services will offer a little bit of advice or recommendations when assisting a first time shopper or novice in the field the service is being offered. Not here. Not the warmest or most customer friendly experience. Hopefully, my lessons (which will be taken elsewhere) will be more enjoyable.
Rude! I went to buy a book for violin and they yelled at me and my sister because my sister just told her the total of money she was giving them. NEVER GO THERE!!!!!

I am the manager for LA Fitness, and also a musician. I didn’t know that I had a music store in my shopping center. I had to replace strings for my mandolin. They replaced the strings, and communicated with me to let me know when they finished. This music store is a hidden gem in Arcadia. They even give music lessons
attitude.
No one picks up the phone. I tried over different time of the year and no one ever picks up. Hard to find out if they are open before going there.
为什么我去了两次,都不开门?不知道从哪里进,打电话也不接?
Hours posted on their website say open 11am-8pm on a Monday but they are closed and it’s only 6:30pm. Previous experiences here have been pleasant.
5. Neighborhood Music School, Inc.
Address: 25 S 1st Ave, Arcadia, CA 91006 , Arcadia , California , United States
We started using their Mandarin tutoring this semester and it’s been wonderful! Our tutor, Susan, is exceptional! My boys always look forward to seeing her and their Mandarin speaking, reading, and writing has improved exponentially. We’re very happy with our experience with Neighborhood school.
My kids have been taking music lessons here for a few years now, my daughter takes piano lessons and my son take guitars lessons. They both love it and enjoy playing, the instructors are kind and great non-pressured environment.
I would recommend it highly, they are flexible to different instructors because every child is different to who they are compatible with.
Great place to bring your child to learn Guitar. Jason is a great teacher. Thank you!
I recently signed my daughter up for violin lessons with an instructor at Neighborhood Music School in August. Upon signing her up, I filled out all of the requisite paperwork and was given the name of an instructor who would be responsible for teaching my daughter. I did not get to meet the instructor that day, which was not a problem. The following day, I went back in to confirm the name of the instructor and get his contact information so that I could book my daughter’s first lesson. The staff had a difficult time locating my paperwork so that the registration fee and lesson fee could be paid for (which was inconvenient, but not a major problem). The staff member was able to locate my paperwork and then schedule my daughter for a lesson. That week I was contacted by the instructor, Albert Romero. He confirmed our appointment for Sunday, September 2nd at 1:00 p.m. On Sunday, Mr. Romero canceled my daughter’s lesson at 9:40 a.m. via text message stating that he needed to cancel the lesson due to the Labor Day holiday. I responded and informed him that I needed at least a twenty-four hour notice from him if a lesson needed to be canceled to accommodate my schedule. I also asked him when we could reschedule my daughter’s first lesson. Mr. Romero did not respond to that message until today (I do not recall him contacting me since our exchange on Sunday, September, 2nd). Mr. Romero informed me today that he would no longer be teaching for Neighborhood Music School and that I should look into possibly retaining another instructor for my daughter. I informed Mr. Romero that I had canceled my daughter’s lessons with Neighborhood Music School. I also let him know that in the future it would behoove him to keep in better contact with his clients. He responded by saying he did not need my advice and thank you. I responded in return by telling him that due to his erratic communication pattern, he actually did need my advice. His next text said, “I hope you find what you are looking for.” I texted him back and told him I hope he treats his clients better in the future. As I mentioned before, I went and canceled my daughter’s lesson with Neighborhood Music School this past week before my unfortunate exchange with Mr. Romero. I do not know the name of the gentleman who assisted me with the cancellation of my daughter’s lessons, but both times I had dealings with him, he was very pleasant and did his utmost to make my experiences positive. During the cancellation process, he sincerely apologized for Mr. Romero’s erratic and irresponsible behavior, and offered me the opportunity to look into another instructor for my daughter. I declined his offer (because Mr. Romero’s behavior did not particularly reflect well on this business, so I will look elsewhere). He immediately refunded my payments for the registration and lesson fees and e-mailed me a receipt of the transaction with an additional apology. He apologized for the inconvenience and Mr. Romero’s behavior once again before I left the store and thanked me for my business. While I was not pleased with the overall result of my experience at Neighborhood Music School, I was very appreciative of the service that I received from this gentleman. He was very professional and concerned about my experience and did his best rectify the situation. I do not want this review to unnecessarily sour anyone’s opinion of this establishment. Up until I had to deal with Mr. Romero’s casual attitude about cancelling my daughter’s lesson and then not contacting me until several days later, my experiences here were very routine and pleasant. I would hope in the future that Neighborhood Music School will be a little more proactive in the way they monitor how reliable their instructors are and how serious they are in meeting the needs of their clientele.
6. Stringed Instrument Services
Address: 127 E St Joseph St UNIT 105, Arcadia, CA 91006 , Arcadia , California , United States
This has been my first experience with Stringed Instrument Services. I took a Gibson guitar to them, in which they are an authorized service center for. I took it to them as I suspected an issue that may require warranty service.
My profession is in this line of work also so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Jerry diagnosed the problem and confirmed what I suspected.
He and his staff are very knowledgeable and honest. He seemed to have no problem in doing whatever it takes, that is within his power, to get my issue resolved with the company, For that I am grateful!!!!!!
Jerry and his team also have a line of hand built guitars called Luxxtone Guitars that are very much worth taking a look at as well!!!!
I will most certainly use their services again if the need arises!!!!!!!
Just a great experience, start to finish. Jerry and Rose are absolutely lovely people. The best.
Great place to get your guitars fixed. The owner was very nice and kind.
The location is inside a small warehouse shared with other stores. Jeremy is nice but really wished it was same day pickup as agreed upon. I’d come back.
TL;DR: damaged guitar, refused refund, had to issue chargeback.
11/2/2019: I just got my first guitar back from Stringed Instrument Services and I won’t be bringing any more back. I dropped off a 25+ year old Fender Telecaster for a fret level and new nut as the old nut was way too low and the frets were buzzy. This was over two weeks ago and it just came back with black tool marks up and down the maple fretboard, damage to the neck pickup cover, and the nut is almost as low as the one it was supposed to replace. It is glaringly obvious that whoever rushed the fret leveling wasn’t paying attention and let the sanding beam sand right over the top corner of my Tele’s neck pickup cover. This quality of work is completely untenable and I called SIS immediately upon returning home to request a refund and was told by an employee over the phone that “they don’t do refunds” but I could bring the guitar back to “make it right”. Very neglectful techs who refuse to be held accountable for their shoddy work.
Updated response to owner: Jerry Bizon has made some bizarre claims and accusations in his response. I’m a senior software engineer who makes more money than I need and have no interest in scamming anyone. I hope that Jerry gets the help he needs and can take accountability for his work instead of responding with wild accusations and shameless self promotion.

My daughter has been learning here since 1ish years old already(so far she’s almost 5 yrs old). She’s been taking kindermusik class, and now in group piano class. We are very satisfied about this music program in My Music Box. They really have a passion in developing music interest in younger kids. The staffs are very passionate about kids’ growing. The environment is very comfortable and roomy. Highly recommend to parents who are seeking an outstanding music program for kids starting from very young age!
Fun and creative class with Ms. Lina

12. 88 Keys Music Academy
Address: 1012 S Baldwin Ave, Arcadia, CA 91007 , Arcadia , California , United States
I’ve been taking vocal lessons here for a couple of months and I must say I’m very happy with the results!
I’m an adult with no prior experience singing, except for car karaoke! Stephen is an excellent teacher. He keeps me at a pace that is challenging, just outside my comfort zone and I have seen incredible results because of it!
I’ve also worked with Rana who is so motivating every lesson. She helps me give my best every lesson.
I’ve always dreamed of singing and I’m grateful to 88 Keys for turning that dream into a reality.
Good place for kids music lessons.
After deciding to rededicate myself to learning the piano after a 15 year hiatus, I was determined to find a piano instructor who could help me reach my goals. Annie over at 88 Keys Music Academy has been my piano teacher for 8 months or so, and in that short time I’ve learned and progressed way more that I thought was possible. She has a great teaching style, with the perfect mix of seriousness, fun & (LOTS of) patience. She pushes me to always try harder while also being understanding of a few time/schedule constraints I have. The lessons are very efficient, and I always leave wanting to rush home and incorporate what I’ve learned. The quality I like best about Annie, however, is that she continuously stresses to me the importance of the “musicality” of my playing. This gives me the belief that, even though I am a beginner, I don’t have to settle for simply “hitting the right notes”, but am capable of playing in a manner which makes the listener “feel” something. That’s a great feeling!
The facilities and studios at 88 keys are brand new and look great! I’m confident that my piano playin’ goals will be met here.

Really nice little studio. Very laid back environment. I got some recording and mixing done for my project. Khalil was helpful and gave great advice on how to get the best sound.
What a talented hard working artist, producer, songwriter, rapper!! I’ve had the pleasure of working with him on a few projects and he always knows what to do and will give you the best results.

15. Arcadia Conservatory of Music
Address: 121 Alice St, Arcadia, CA 91006 , Arcadia , California , United States
Our child has been a violin student of M. Vivian Lee for over 6 years. She’s a constant presence in our child’s music development; we couldn’t be more pleased. She’s a thoughtful, caring, and deliberate teacher. Ms. Vivian is someone who looks to challenge our child to play better, with proper technique and improved sound. Always looking to connect with our child to unlock our child’s musical skill and aptitude. She makes violin a special part of my child. Mindful of our child’s other interests during certain periods of the year, Ms. Vivian structures the lesson and expectations accordingly. Our child has improved and excelled with Ms. Vivian from the start.
Ms. Vivian has been my violin teacher for about 6 years almost 7. She is an amazing teacher and has helped me pass many levels in Certificate of Merit! Ms. Vivian tries to learn about her students’ lives outside of violin to try and connect with her students. She wants us to not only learn the instrument but also wants us to have happy memories of music when it is mentioned. I improve every year with the help of Ms. Vivian’s teaching and I’m very happy to be her student.
Ms. Vivian is an excellent music teacher. With each lesson, I continue to embark my musical journey with enthusiasm.
