Friendly staff, wide selection, great prices. Nothing to complain about.
Janine Arecco is fabulous!!!! Best vocal teacher in Georgia. Very high quality instruction by a very knowledgeable, personable, and precise vocal teacher. Ponce de Leon Music is a jewel in the music crown of musical facilities in north Georgia!
Wonderful selection and fantastic staff
Very helpful, knowledgeable, nice
Very surprised! Went looking for some some used records left with a bundle. I’m definitely going back. The guy who was working the shop at the time was helpful and knowledgeable.
They did a good job repairing my son’s guitar and were very nice. However, since that last visit, i have called twice looking for audio equipment and have been told twice that the equipment I need doesn’t and cannot exist. The problem is that while I am on the phone, the equipment is in my hand or in front of me and does in fact exist. Its just worn out and I need a new piece. I am trying to save myself a thirty minute drive to a different music store who always have my parts. Please, please just spare me the lecture and just say sorry, we don’t have that in stock.
The customer service is awful I definitely won’t be back there every again
Had to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I know it was closing time. I was trying to make it quick. When they started harassing my husband reminding him when they close he left and we took our business somewhere else. Customers want to feel welcomed, not reminded how unfortunate you are to have to lock the door right at 5:00.
4. Bloch Piano
Address: 200 W Jackson St, Thomasville, GA 31792 , Arlington , Georgia , United States
Craig and his team moved 5 pianos for our college. I am very satisfied with the results and experience. They were very professional, careful, and very delightful folks to work and speak with. I will be calling him back for any other needs we have.
Drove to where I was, never canceled an appointment, kept good correspondence with me, was very friendly, good conversationalist, didn’t take forever in fixing and replacing parts on my piano. Although it can be costly to restore an aged piano, I found the price reasonable. I would trust him with my 1920 Starr Upright again.
Very satisfied, he took his time to explain what our piano needed, and was very professional. Highly recommend.
5. Ken Stanton Music
Address: 3636 Dallas Hwy SW, Marietta, GA 30064 , Arlington , Georgia , United States
Great! Everytime I leave I end up thinking…
What a well run businesss.
What a polite and professional crew.
I look forward to going again.
It’s an awesome experience everytime I step inside this store. These guys are awesome. Would definitely recommend this store to anyone who loves music.
Very good price for renting and we got lots of information on just walking in for a rent. They have 11 dollars for the first 2 months and then 30 dollars a month after that and that is a VERY good price for a high class instrument with free tuning and repairs plus replaces and size changes. Recommend a lot!
Smaller than the one on Cobb parkway. Friendly staff. No complaints. Just a pretty limited selection.
Wasn’t able to be in this store for 5 minutes trying to find my 4 year old an instrument to learn without two of the employees hounding him to not touch anything. As a professional musician trust me I have my son trained to be careful around expensive instruments. I also picked up a guitar to play and think about purchasing it but the guy told me they are supposed to bring it down and hand it to me, I said I know how to handle a guitar and he says “not a $1,300 guitar” I’ll take my business elsewhere.
I find it hard to believe a store would go out of their way to lose a potential sale. I live in Carrollton Georgia so I don’t get out there much and I asked to exchange an un-used microphone I purchased from them (over 90 days ago) for another item. They told me no. That’s basically it. Who says that to a potential customer? I know your starving for business but ok I’ll purchase elsewhere from now on. I like companies that are interested in my business. I recommend Willcutt guitars
Staff is helpful to get the sale but be careful… Merchandise is expensive and there’s no returns because of Covid. They don’t tell you about that detail before you spend your money!
6. String Theory Music
Address: 204 W 4th St, Adel, GA 31620 , Arlington , Georgia , United States
I have been buying my instruments from Jacksons music for over 15 years and I have always had an awesome experience!
Great service friendly staff and plenty of great musical products
I’ve been coming here on and off for years
Same guys they help anyway possible you need to be straight up about what you want if you’re not sure what you want and want to look around say so they give me room and time to make a decision or to come back later
These guys deal with the public every day but they still pick up on how I like to shop anything you need just ask get to know the guys you’ll be glad you did..JPalmer
Good people
Great help.
Very knowledgeable
Jackson’s Music is a good little small town music store. In a town void of music stores this is a nice oasis to get the things you need. They also fix guitars and rent band instruments too.
Hands-down the worst music store ever!
I’ve went to Jackson’s music a few times in the past couple of years. I have purchased a drum set from them and its my number one kit still to this day. For the most part friendliness is in the atmosphere when the older guys are working, the younger guy on the other hand is lazy and careless and doesn’t see the need to know about drum accessories even being the store salesman that he is.. I guess he’s a guitar guy or something. I feel as if anyone that was clueless about music or music instruments could do a better job than that guy. The guy acted as if he didn’t know what I was talking about and was trying to pretty much get me off the phone until I pushed the issue. Then he was like, “oh I know what you’re talking about.” This was after I walked him through what I was in need of twice! Anyways the guy clearly knew what I was talking about and was more than likely anxious to get off on time instead of making one more sale for the day. He even told me that someone else called this past week about the same thing. In store experience is definitely the route to go. If you call you’ll more than likely get the careless and clueless young guy on the phone that doesn’t even deserve his job. I don’t know if it’s because he didn’t get the training he needed or if he likes to milk the system but whatever the case may be he obviously can’t help you because he can’t even help himself or the store by doing a good job.
As any business, it is made up of people. I have been a musician for 25 years but these guys treat you like you are an idiot every time you come in. I even sent my wife up there to ask for something specific and these morons tried to tell her that I was stupid for wanting what I needed. Humility and professionalism goes a long way. I went in to give them a shot on a $4k acoustic that I would up purchasing. Could not get them to treat me serious and I had cash that day!! Never, ever use this place.
8. Music Authority Inc
Address: 123 Merchants Square, Cumming, GA 30040 , Arlington , Georgia , United States
I started taking guitar lessons at Music Authority in 2004. The people here are incredible. It is always a treat to drop in and say hello when I am in town. Take lessons here! Buy your next instrument here! You won’t regret it.
Great program to learn an instrument and learn the business of being in a band
My kids have greatly enjoyed taking guitar/ukulele lessons at Music Authority for over a year now. George Marlow (my son’s instructor) and Lauren Isenberg/Savannah Hughes (my daughter’s instructors) have been great teachers. My son says, “George is even forgiving when I didn’t really practice that week” (something we need to work on). My daughter started out on Guitar but is now enjoying playing her Ukulele (and so is her family).
Mr.Mark is my son’s Piano teacher and my son enjoys his piano lessons.
My 10 yr old daughter and I take piano lessons at Music Authority. Our instructor, Brooke, along with a lot of practice, has taken us from zero musical experience to reading and playing the piano in a few short months.
We enjoy the lessons each week and we learn something at each one. Our instructor is a gifted teacher. She changes up the lesson plans so throughout our lsns, and at home practice, we learn music theory, practice skills exercises, and learn songs. It pushes us to go further but doesn’t overwhelm.
If your looking to learn an instrument or two, this is a good place to start. Music camps and performances are offered as well. You can get as involved as you want.
I was referred to Music Authority after moving to the area and wanting to continue with my music lessons. I was a little skeptical when I arrived as I’m used to larger big box music stores like Sam Ash and Guitar Center. 2 years later I’m still a happy customer. They have great instructors all with degrees in music and actively play in places of worship and/or gig professionally which was important to me. The staff is courteous and helpful and keeps me informed on what’s happening. They do have a retail merchandise space in the front of the store that offers what I’d call a light to medium selection of quality guitars, amps, drums and equipment/accessories (NOTE: no DJ/lighting equipment, keyboards, recording or HS band equipment here). It’s very convenient after a lesson to shop and pick up those must haves. I’ve bought many things including a guitar that I’m very happy with. They’re knowledgeable, stand by their merchandise and even offer special incentives that the larger stores don’t. They have a repair and service shop that I’ve yet to use but would if needed. Don’t let me forget all the things this place does for young musicians like summer rock camps, concerts, jam nights, open mic nights and more. I wish I had access to a music organization like this one when I was a kid… I’d be a better musician today if I did. Yes, I recommend this place.
We tried to set up a single trial music lesson for our son. They would not set up lessons unless we provided an email and were quite rude about it to boot. We have too many companies that abuse the privilege of having our email and we end up getting spammed so we do not give out our email easily. But for them to insist that they have it as a condition of providing a service like piano lessons is a big red flag for us.
Placed guitar on lay away, son decided he didn’t want it, the stated they’d give me back $13 of the $50 because they keep 15% of the full price of the guitar for a “restocking fee” I told them just to keep the damn $13 because it sounds like they need it. Although I lost $50 on dealing with these disgusting blood sucking ingrates I at least feel great that I didn’t follow through with the deal.
If you can be sure you never can miss a lesson even with 24 hour notice for any reason than its place for you. But if you are a human like everyone else than you will be responsible to pay for lessons that been cancelled even with 24 hour notice no matter what. I never had to experience something like that before with all of my 3 kids activities. Stay away from this place!
9. Music & Arts
Address: 3805 Dallas Hwy Suite 108, Marietta, GA 30064 , Arlington , Georgia , United States
Staff were very knowledgeable and kind. I learned a lot and got what I needed. Fantastic place.
My son’s violin string broke and I went in to purchase a replacement. Doug found the string I needed, restrung the violin and tuned it for me…all for the price of the string. Doug was super helpful, answered all my questions about music lessons, let my busy twin sons play the drums and gave us a tour of the music lesson rooms/area. It felt very much like a small town music store. We will be back!
The service was amazing and they provided us with such helpful information, really helping us find the best deals for our budget. Ms. Cailey was a great help and going to this location was overall a great experience
Been renting my daughter flute from here and had to get it service. Received excellent service from Cailey from beginning to end. We were able to leave with a loaner and return with a week for our instrument. Very pleased with service, knowledgeable staff, and cost.
Helpful, friendly employees. I wish the store was a little larger to have more inventory, but I’m sure they’ll stock up when back-to- school season comes around.
How do you run a business by closing for lunch with no return time listed on your away sign?! Took my business to Ken Stanton instead. Poor business practice made you miss out on a $300 sale.
SCAMMERS. We rented an instrument for school. When Covid hit and schools went online they would not give us a chance with the instrument payments. They kept unfairly charging us while everything was on hold. Many calls to the store did not help. These people are scammers. Do not buy or rent from them They dont care about the customer.
Music & Arts’ customer service is non-existent, I am not sure why they deserve a one star, but that’s as low as one can go. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY WHERE YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH ITS CUSTOMER SERVICE … that’s my advice to everyone.
10. Music & Arts
Address: 119 Cobb Pkwy N, Marietta, GA 30062 , Arlington , Georgia , United States
Ken Stanton music has among the best customer service of any music store in the Southeast. Rather than pressuring you into a purchase they’ll help you match what you want to a good value.
They carry pro audio, band and orchestra, keyboards, and all the instruments to rock out.
The space is wheelchair accessible and during non covid times they’ve lessons in the store.
They are taking covid precautions with masks and barriers.
Used almost every sales associate in the store. The combined expertise of Adam, Paul, and John. The team works together to get a satisfying customer experience. I do not know if they work on commission, but they all deserve a piece of the sale. Best thing is they all have the personal experience to give great advise, not like the other people down the road that fills your ears with, well you know.
Excellent staff, selection and service. Store layout is ideal, too!
They always have the right drumsticks and reeds.
Ordered a guitar in 7/22. Got it on 8/5. Great guitar, customer service not so good.
Much bigger than it’s cousin on Dallas Hwy. Has okay prices. The staff are fairly helpful. Nothing spectacular.
I went there to buy $3 to $4k guitar but I have this present $30dolar return that I got from a friend.
So when I tried to do the return they didn’t car and ignore me.
I have never used the drum that I tried to return but because of the service I decided to not buy there.
Wen I want to buy such expensive things I do a test fo see how they react.
So sorry Ken
Maybe you should do better service
Thanks
my favorite store to go to for guitar things but i guess they don’t actually need new employees like their sign says … submitted multiple applications and called/visited to ask about it numerous times and they always say they’ll check up on it and it goes no further. it would be nice if they would at least let me know that they’re not interested instead of me calling visiting and sending more applications for no reason.
They had posted an incorrect used guitar model for sale at the wrong price and at the wrong location, then said it had sold the day before from their other store but they did not remove it from their web site. I drove 1/2 hr one way to purchase it because it was active on their web site.

Jackson’s is one of the oldest music stores in Atlanta. You won’t find a nicer group of people to deal with. Give them a try, they will give you a great deal, and you will be helping local business in Atlanta.
Had a Great Buying Experience!
After searching in multiple stores that were out of stock for the amp I was looking for, I called here and they had 1 left!
I was calling local stores since I didn’t want to wait for shipping… This was the only place to have what I was looking for right away.
The guys at the store were really friendly and helpful as well. They helped me test the speaker and were patient.
5 STARS! Plus I found a really great and unexpected deal! I recommend 100% .
Very helpful staff. Wide range of products. Good quality instruments and auxiliary items. Reasonable prices.
I went there to pick up a music book. Very simple transaction. The sales clerk was nice and it was set up very neatly in there. Would recommend to anybody looking for music-related items.
Music store with small private session rooms in the back. My daughter’s first flute lessons. She learned alot. We look forward to her next lesson.
I respect that the owner did follow up to compromise on resolving the issue.
Not that good of a store
Just a waste of space , the lady that works there doesn’t even know the items she’s selling or what they do , and they have close to nothing in the store. Black guy with dreds is cool though
After nearly 10 years of doing business with and at Jackson’s Music Store, I can say that I was deeply angered, saddened, thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied with the service that I and my son received.
The customer service and the (African-American Male with the salt and pepper dreads) was deplorable. His arrogance and lack of compassion for my son and them losing parts of his accessories (guitar bag, strap and amp cord) was most upsetting and alarming. However for him to say that my son didn’t turn in a bag and accessories when I was on the phone with him and ensured that he did was a slap in the face.
He offered no compensation or even try to help replace the items that they (he in particular) lost.
From a professional standpoint and standards, it was the most unprofessional experience that I witnessed and was most upsetting for this to have happened to my son as this was for service to a guitar which was his Christmas present.
The customer service nor store manager offered no apology or even bothered to look for the items.
I’ve served my country for nearly 30 years and am a Retired Army Officer. I’ve been in music ever since 1984, since junior high school and this was the first time that I experienced that type of arrogance from a manager and customer service.
I will never patronize this store again after that ordeal. I will drive the extra miles and take my business to The Guitar Center from now on.
