Excelente
BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ARVIN LUMBER HARDWARE & FEED UNLIKE THE OTHER HARDWARE STORES IN ARVIN THE GUYS AT ARVIN LUMBER ARE READY TO HELP AND REALLY KNOW THERE STUFF.FOR THE MOST PART THEY HAVE EVERYTHING HARDWARE RELATED AND LUMBER IF THEY DON’T HAVE IT THEY WILL ORDER IT IMMEDIATELY.
Worst hardware store ever, everything is overpriced and if you go in after you’ve been working all day they will follow you around the store and then question you about what you buy and where you found it. This is the last time I will be shopping here I wouldn’t recommend anyone go here .
Well what time do they open ? Because the sing says that they open at 8 and I have been sitting here since 7:55 and it is 8:15 and no body here to open the store .
I would rate negative stars if possible!!!!! My husband and I tried to purchase some paint brushes and the price was not what the tag said. The cashier wanted to charge us more than the actual price. Took the lady to see the tag. The brand and description matched the items we were trying to buy and she wouldn’t honor the price. Aside of all that she has the worst customer service ever!!! I have never encountered anyone as rude in my entire life!!! We will never be back!

THE OWNER TRIES TO HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED AT THIS STORE IF NOT HE WILL HAVE IT ON HIS LIST SND WILL BE ADDED TO THIS STORE. THEY TRY HARD TO GET WHAT YOU NEED SO YOU COULD LEAVE HAAAPY !
HAPPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!⛄ ⛄❄️
Everyone that works there seems to be knowledgeable on the things they have for sale and they have a good variety.
Más o menos
ayudan a los clientes y todo esta muy ordenado.
Crazy prices
Not well organized and if you ask someone about something they have no idea what it is. Or where is it at.
3. Nick Rail Music
Address: 5127 Ming Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93309 , Arvin , California , United States
Rented a violin from here for three years. The violin was of great quality. The staff is very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!
Great service, friendly and helpful staff, and good prices. What more could you ask for?!
Very helpful and informative, staff was very kind and welcoming would leave more stars if I could
Although I will say they are helpful and polite inside the store, I’m rating them a 2 because they promised a part that I ordered almost a month ago would only take 7-10 days to come in. It has now been over 25 days and it’s still not in stock. I finally decided to order it on amazon and I will get it tomorrow.
They were good when they first opened in Bakersfield. Now… After nearly 4 months of waiting, half of my instrument repairs are coming back. Great company as long as you aren’t expecting anything timely.
4. California Keyboards Music Center
Address: 2408 Brundage Ln, Bakersfield, CA 93304 , Arvin , California , United States
Excellent service!
They surpassed my expectations with my repairs and supplies.
Thank you California Keyboards!
Great place to learn and buy instruments!
Very helpful employees. Appreciate them.
Those who feel they got screwed most likely feel that way with many other businesses…choosing a trumpet or tuba, etc is solid evidence
Great service. Instructors terrific. Friendly family run place.
Buena atención con sus clientes y familiar.
Beware of the rental charges. It is not rent to own. When you have earned enough “rental credits” to actually own the instrument, they will not let you know that and will continue to charge a monthly rental fee. I paid an additional $280 for my son’s clarinet before I called to check the balance of what I owed. It was an auto-pay from my CC and I should have paid closer attention. That is my fault but I think it’s pretty damn sketchy of California Keyboards to run their business this way. I will be letting my music director friends know about this practice.
Tl;dr – Was promised same day service. Left without anything done 4 days later.
I phoned California Keyboards on Tuesday morning and asked, “If I buy a pack of strings, could I pay an extra fee to have you restring my guitar?”
The person on the phone replied, “Yes. OR if you have your own pack of strings, you could just bring the pack and the guitar in and pay for a restring.”
This was great news. I had a bunch of packs of strings since I order in bulk.
“How long will that take?”
“If you bring it in the morning, it will probably be done early the same afternoon.”
Perfect! I was really strapped for time, and I live up the street. This seemed like it was going to work out really well.
I take my guitar and strings in. They put my name in the system. I get a printout for a work order, and I’m on my way.
Two days go by with no phone call, so I call them. It isn’t ready. I believe there was no explanation beyond that they just hadn’t gotten to it yet. So without anything else, I hang up and think I’ll either get a call later that day or early the next morning.
I’m writing this on Saturday — 4 days after dropping it off — and no phone call. So I drive up the street with my purchase order to get my guitar whether it’s done or not.
Surprise: It isn’t done.
The only saving grace is that whoever the manager on duty was offered a free pack of strings for my troubles which I declined since I already buy in bulk. He then pivoted to offer a discount on the next repair if I mention this instance, but I’d only bring my guitar back here if I were desperate at this point.
The fact of the matter is that I personally know people at the other music shops in town, so I made a special effort to come here rather than support my other friends’ businesses. Granted, it WOULD have been convenient for me due to the location, but it ended up being more headache than I had planned.
I didn’t feel like a priority. And I wasted more time by coming here rather than just doing it myself or taking it to a friend to support THEIR business.
Very bad service. I try to stay local and support local businesses but this business has very bad business practices and will put fraudulent debt in your name. Do not let them take automatic payments from your account!
5. Front Porch Music
Address: 1711 19th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301 , Arvin , California , United States
Great knowledgeable sales people. Good selection of musical instruments, guitars, keyboards, drums. And other musical instruments and a accessories.
Love browsing in this shop! It’s filled to the brim with music of every kind; instruments from vintage to new, sheet music, book music, tshirts advertising music, guys playing music, music memorabilia with signed autographs posted here and there around the store, etc. And don’t forget the owner Arty who sits sentry at the front door handing out bits of musical information as you go in or out. A great place to check out…more than once!!
It is where I look first!
Personal touch but limited inventory
Small
Went by for some guitar strings and a winder. Was helped by gentleman in the shop. Seemed helpful enough. The place has been around for a looooong time. Kind of an icon of downtown local business. Shop looks like it always has. They need a neon sign.
Bought used amp from them online, it arrived poorly packed, and immediately had problems with microphonic tube noise. They were supposed to overnight new tubes to me, but the guy on chat literally said that his boss took the tracking number home. Like they didn’t use computers?! In their chats they never identify themselves personally, so I didn’t know who I was talking to. They said just pack it up and we’ll refund your money… they finally did, but not return shipping. And then they just stopped responding to my texts at all. Very disorganized and disrespectful. Do not do business with them online, you’ll get the runaround.
Total boys club.
Somebody said boys club I totally agree. They follow you around like you’re a thief. They don’t give you a chance to browse, and they’re pretty rude.
6. Bakersfield Sound Co.
Address: 10715 Rosedale Highway, 1018 18th st, Bakersfield, CA 93312 , Arvin , California , United States
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Their drum lessons are affordable and teachers are great!
Staff are genuine and know their stuff when it comes to music, instruments and everything related. We were introduced to Bakersfield Sound Company when the pandemic was in full effect. They were offering music lessons via Zoom. We have since moved to in person lessons and the kiddos have loved every minute. Patrick and Jason are kind, patient, and the kiddos have learned so much from them throughout the year of lessons they’ve recieved. Thanks so much to everyone at Bakersfield Sound Co!
Great service… Love their attitude
Good prices
Great clean place. I would like to return a saxophone I rented for my daughter, who can I contact during this shutdown?
My daughter is renting a violin for school so that’s all I’ve delt with in the store, buuuut they do have great customer service.
Guy with shaggy hair and tall is very rude, think is name was Arron or something,
Called these guys and talked to someone for about 15 mins about selling some audio equipment, and was confirmed that they purchase out rite and was even asked what I was trying to do with everything and I said I’m trying to sale it to pay some bills and he said ok gotcha bring it over tomorrow, then I get there and they act like they don’t know what I’m talking about and told me they don’t purchase items for cash. Employees gave me wrong info
I went today for my first time and loved it man these guys are awesome I recommend these to everyone
7. Mountain Music-Fiddlers Xing
Address: 206 E F St, Tehachapi, CA 93561 , Arvin , California , United States
Amazing customer service Miss Amy is super patient and very helpful with kids! Lots of wonderful instruments. Pleasure to talk to, very informative! Will help you find the places or people who can help you if they don’t have the answers.
Badass open mic
8. Taco Bell
Address: 330 Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA 93203 , Arvin , California , United States
I never have problems with this location. It’s actually the only one I like. However, today my toddler was eating a breakfast burrito and began to choke. I found this large piece of plastic bag in his mouth from inside the burrito. Just be careful! Accidents do happen!
No COVID potatoes ..Bummer.. so I didnt get my breakfast burrito after all because they’re not serving potatoes.. Un-american!
No dollar items but clean
I got it for my brother. he wanted some tacos. There’s not much to say as it’s not a Michelin Restaurant destination worthy, but it’s fast food and it was what he liked.
We just waited an hour for our order. The workers weren’t even at the counter to ask about the order and when they finally came to the counter 20 minutes after we arrived to pick up the order they said it would be done soon. But it was an hour after placing the order before we received it.
Awful service and servings. I ordered the grande nachos and it looked like they drizzled everything on top. The driest tasteless nachos ive ever had at taco bell. Heck the 1$ nachos has more toppings on them. Bad .
It just keeps getting worse. The few things that are worth trying get discontinued.
9. Going Underground Records
Address: 1312 19th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301 , Arvin , California , United States
I started buying my records here recently. They have a vast selection of genres and artists. The records I’ve gotten so far have all been in good condition. They have older stuff (think Beatles and earlier) as well as newer artists (Tame Impala etc). They sell both LPs and 45s (I have no idea if they sell 78 RPM records). They also have some turntables available for purchase. I was impressed with their collection of movie soundtrack LPs and hope to see more of it in the future. Overall, unless you’re looking for something incredibly specific (like a copy of Abbey Road with a label misprint) I recommend this place 100%.
I went to go sell some white label demo albums one from DMX that don’t even have any printing on it, but the owner wasn’t there so they couldn’t even appraise it. So I really can’t rate the place. Except it was a waste of time going down there call before you go.
Good for if you are a fan of collectible Vinyls.
Cool place to sell records
Bunk
They sent me a scratched record – I could hear! I contacted them several times to replace it and no one responded! Be kind!
I took my wife in because we collect vinyl. The guy working there was an elitist snob who was obviously only interested in helping people with his favorite genré. I recommend World Records, Bruce is fantastic. For collecting hard to find used vinyl we just go to Amoeba records or Record Surplus in L.A.
