Interesting place. Shipping container flea market. Very friendly people. Bargains to be found. Pretty hot in there.
Great market to buy and sell. I lot of different stuff to find
No ice items friendly people
Although not a large place, it is eclectic. In addition to several flea market vendors, there is a decent plant selection. Notice the unique bottle brush plant.
Can always find something unique. Big or small
Great place and she really works with you if you want that item
Cute little market, some friendly people,
Tried to go at 2:00 pm on June 28 and they were closed.
Drove 30 minutes and it’s not open. Disappointed.
5. Parramore Music
Address: 304 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470 , Astor , Florida , United States
New to the area, looking for music shop. I was very impressed at what they have! Varieties of instruments new and used plus accessories and parts. Also this place offers lessons or long list of connections to people who will give music lessons for many types of instruments and vocal. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. This place is a must see if you love to play music. I can see how they stayed in business locally for so long.
Knowledgeable and helpful
Some good pianos at reasonable prices
John is always a pleasure.
I would really love to give this place five stars, but… The thing is, even though they have a fabulous selection of guitars, (and I DO mean FABULOUS! After, all, I bought my Yamaha that’s in the pawnshop right now here, and I’m fabulous af ) they don’t have a fabulous way of treating people that look like me. Every time I walk in this place, the long-haired dude is so weird. You can just tell he’s waiting for me to pocket something so he can rush to the front and lock me in! Like, dude, I paid cash for one of your overpriced, mass- produced workhorse-guitars. I’m not gonna swipe some maracas while your back’s turned. I don’t even want to shop here anymore, which sucks because Guitar Center is hella far, but at least they don’t make me feel like I’m not welcome.
I brought my guitar in for minor pickup wiring. 7 days later they hadn’t touched it. I came back to get it and I wasn’t given a reason or an apology.
Dont say you buy old musical equipments, if a 63 year ventage trumpet is not worth any thing more than a head shake and disrespectfull knowladge.
6. Castaways Restaurant
Address: 23525 FL-40 W, Astor, FL 32102 , Astor , Florida , United States
Great place for a quick bite after kayaking at Silver Springs.
Good cozy place to eat.
The food was plentiful and we’ll prepared. The restaurant provides a wonderful convenience for travellers of Rte 40 a pretty desolate road running through the Ocala State Forest. Diane our waiitress was friendly and provided great service.
Riff’s 2020 Race week…
Very good atmosphere. Polite waitresses and good food. Steak was done just like I ordered it. And oyters where veru good too.
Great, friendly service, & decent prices, but on 6/24 came in for breakfast, I can’t say I was very impressed. My bush breakfast would have been better if it hadn’t rained on us the night prior and woke up with no dry wood, lol. I’ll probably give them another shot some day, but it won’t be for breakfast!
Didn’t even get to order food due to the fact that we were constantly ignored. We had enough and left without a word, deciding it wasn’t even worth the poor service.
The food was not good for the price. And the waitress said we could trade out the cole slaw for salad and didn’t tell us there was a up charge. Handed us our checks and said I put the wrong appetizer on the wrong checks but they’re the same price, and it wasn’t the same price, fish dip and fried green tomatoes
7. the Guitar Attic
Address: 1672 Ridgewood Ave, Holly Hill, FL 32117 , Astor , Florida , United States
Best guitar shop in all of the Daytona area.
Great selection and the owner is the real deal.
There is no question he can’t answer. We’re lucky to have this a shop like this in town.
Randy Pepper is an awesome guy to deal with and talk to about music and life! Thanks for our Martin Guitar!
Good place for guitars
The guitar tech Steve works on Friday and Saturday…. Had a setup done at Total Entertainment that was giving me fits so I decided to give Guitar Attic a try. Steve determined that the nut was low on the problem string… Now it’s much better… I made some setup adjustments on my own and now have my epi dot just about right.. Probably needs a new nut and saddles…. I’ll most likely spend about $400 more because I want to install MinE-T-Tune, compensating nut, and upgraded saddles.. They could have also sold me strap locks but forgot I asked for them.
I also brought a Hofner Bass kit that I couldn’t seem to wire without a diagram… Steve and I figured it out with a little troubleshooting… It’s great to have a second set of eyes and some help when it’s needed….
Evidently the owner will string guitars thru the week but I am not sure. It’s a little challenging to find out what problems they can solve.
The fixes were very reasonably priced but I would have spent at least 4 times the amount if I felt they wanted to make sure I had a great experience with my musical endeavors.
Quaint, privately owned store. Nice selection of preowned guitars. Prices comparable to typical Guitar Centers
I’m a little upset with this man’s integrity. I was requesting a pair of 12 -56 gauge acoustic strings. And I said my girlfriend would be by shortly to pick them up. I called his business before they were open and left a voice message. There was no miscommunication he does not carry 12-56 he carries 12-54. So when she showed up to get them and she asked if they were the right ones and he told her yes. She trusting that the order was correct left with the strings.
He didn’t say “by the way, we only carry 12-54” do you think he would need them still? No!!! He just took the sale. And she said he wasn’t very friendly or polite.
I used to come get my strings there as much as I could to support locals but that is an Integrity violation to me.
That fruit loop would only let 2 people at a time in the store plus you have to wear a mask. And doesn’t let you play any of the guitars because “covid” will get on the strings. Don’t waste your time never go to this store.
How do you even sell anything with your hours?
8. 5th Century Music
Address: 1395 US-1 South, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Astor , Florida , United States
Great music store with friendly staff. Can order anything you might need. Cheaper than ordering yourself and paying shipping! Support a local business!
This place is just GREAT! So friendly and attentive. Went in for a simple question about my daughter’s guitar and the young lady was awesome. She tuned the guitar and told me the reason it was out of tune and what my daughter needed to do in the future. Will definitely be back for all our guitar needs and recommend to all my friends.
Great little shop.
Cool
IT’S A SMALL STORE, BUT THEY HAVE A GREAT SELECTION OF AWESOME GUITAR ACCESSORIES, AND GUITARS… ALSO IF YOUR GUITAR NEEDS REPAIRS THEY CAN DO THAT ALSO….
Would be nice if they opened on time. Times on door say they open at 11am. Been waiting 15 min and still not open. Frustrating!
Over Priced!!!
Told me on phone they could restring my guitar while I waited. Got there and they said the guitar would have to be left and they would call when it was done.
Bought the strings and did it myself. On
9. R & R Guitars
Address: 1881 W State Rd 434, Longwood, FL 32750 , Astor , Florida , United States
A music store with a fantastic selection of quality instruments for both professionals and students alike. Instructors have real musical experience and the patience of saints as you learn. And ownership goes above and beyond to find your musical cup of tea. Drink heartily at R and R guitars.
Recently discovered this store. I purchased the Taylor 114ce, the prices are very competitive with all the major chains. The owner, Rob, is knowledgeable and friendly and has done a great job setting up the store and even followed up with me on my purchase.
Highly recommend taking a look.
Great small business. Bought a ukulele about 11/2 years ago and it’s been a high quality instrument.
Replaced strings of my daughter’s guitar. Did not tune at all. Poor communication. Was on the phone while checking me out and had difficulty asking / answering questions. Stated would clean up guitar that had been in storage but wasn’t touched. Took several days to replace strings. Would not go here again. Poor service
10. Astor Bridge
Address: 25140 FL-40, Astor, FL 32102 , Astor , Florida , United States
Assessment: ★★★★☆
4.4/5 based on 19 evaluations.
Reviews
Single leaf drawbridge on the 40 crossing the St Johns River. Two lanes. Wide. Just over 500ft long. It replaced an old wooden bridge from the 1920s. The original tender house has been preserved at the Pioneer Settlement in Barberville.
Helps me get over it.
Nothing like crossing a body of water in between two pieces of land
It’s a bridge I mean how much can u ask for
Draw bridge over the St Johns River.
What can I say about a bridge it’s a bridge
11. Music Matters Remixed
Address: 196 State Rte 312, St. Augustine, FL 32086 , Astor , Florida , United States
Very friendly and knowledgeable guys, I was browsing here and Eric asked what I was looking for and actually guided me to some casettes that he thought I may like, and I found several winners. The variety, and quality of finds here is insane, they have most all of my favorite rock/alt rock acts from the 80s/90s. I live out of state, but I will be giving this store my business online considering how personable, friendly and passionate these guys are about their store.
We stumbled upon this store and went in for our first time. As we looked through the incredible amount of music, posters, and memorabilia, we realized the person helping us was the owner!
As the old saying goes: “If I could go back in time to recapture one memory and relive it, I would do anything to have it.” Eric made this happen for us. As the store filled with sounds from my past, memories flooded that I thought were lost forever. Thank you for giving us that cherished moment, that will last the rest of my life. See you again (and again)

Classic music store vibes, better selection than anywhere else we’ve been in North Florida, and the owner’s clearly passionate about what he does.
A lot to choose from. Guitar strings, harmonicas, CDs and LPs.
Very patchouli-y! Prices are average to good. Selection limited but I walked out happy with some choice recordings.
This place is alright. Mix of comics, CDs & records. Prices are on the high end of retail, but it was kinda expected as the area is a really busy tourist area. If you’re familiar with the current market you could find some stuff at a decent price.
Horrible customer service….. just the worst
Would not sell me a record over the phone when they had just one left…… I offered my credit card ….. just hold it for me and they said no….. first come first served….. I was at work and wasn’t going to be out for a while ….. but their customer service was to not help a dude out.
I would never spend my money at this location.
I stood at the counter waiting to check out the employee was with customer the new owner keep walking by with his dog he see me standing there he doesn’t come over to cash me out I waited for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to come over lame service
12. Leesburg Music
Address: 1607 US-441, Leesburg, FL 34748 , Astor , Florida , United States
Got my boyfriend a Ventura guitar for Christmas there and they were super helpful and patient. Now he plays it all the time he loves it.
I love it there. Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable. There prices are very good. I would recommend Leesburg music to anyone.
Great selection, helpful staff, not at all pushy. Bought a keyboard and lessons can’t wait to start
Friendly and helpful staff
Great service and great people. Highly recommend.
Quiero un pad electrónico de percusión y un subwoofer
We called before making the 45 minute trip to purchase a guitar, strings and a case, only to be turned away because I brought my little service dog. It was 88 degrees so she did not have her Service Dog Vest on. I offered to go back to the car to put it in her. That wasn’t good enough. We were there less than 2 minutes. I had brought my 16 year old foreign exchange student there and he sure got a whiff of good old American culture today.
So embarrassing. Shame on them on all accounts.
Lack communication skills and people skills
Rude staff who didn’t seem to be interested in my business. I won’t be back.
13. Dollar General
Address: 108 N Center St, Pierson, FL 32180 , Astor , Florida , United States
Lots of good products at low price and fast service
All the girls in there are polite and for a quick shopping experience getting just a little things you need… it’s a breeze
Good store alot of snacks and items to choose
Very helpful
Living in a small town, Dollar general is really all there is. Its not so neat and clean, the staff is lacking in friendliness and customer service and the mark up is way higher than Walmart or even publix but it has the essentials.
Always looks like they have not finished stocking their shelves with boxes in the middle of every aisle.
Employee’s were horrible
System was down couldn’t pay with card
The store is a mess….to small for all the stuff in there! There are other DG stores cleaner and bigger I will buy from!
