I’ve never been back and with no intentions to if it’s the same owner from 2009. Back when I was a beginner guitarist, I’d come to this establishment for strings, guitar gear, or to look around because it was all new to me. One day I came in and the owner asked if he could help, I said I was just looking around, and with the meanest look, he responded, “Ya know, every time you come in here, you’re just looking around, how about you buy something.” I was embarrassed and never felt welcomed after that. I had spent a lot of money with them and it was a huge regret that I ever did after that. From that day forward, I shopped elsewhere for music equipment.

Rude employees and slow service. My family and I were visiting from Florida and stopped to get a western union. Waited almost 15 minutes for someone to come up to customer service. Then, the lady who helped us was incredibly rude and had no people or customer service skills!

Man they’ve got some nice stuff in there!
Great people really good service would have given 5 stars but prices are not competitive
At least 15% higher than Guitar center
It’s ok for this size town but if you’re looking for music you have to order it. Very nice personnel.
14. T. Warner Artists | Live Music, DJ, & Entertainment Production
Benjamin was the DJ for our awards banquet. He was very professional and brought all his own equipment, including a table and chair. He kept our dance floor packed and was great to work with.
I had Ben serve as the DJ for our reception. He also provided his sound system for our outdoor ceremony. The quality was fantastic! He did a great job as a DJ. He was professional, fun, and offered ideas on how to make things run smoothly. The guests really liked it when he played the bongos as well. I hired him last-minute and it was such a good decision! The price was extremely reasonable. I highly recommend him for your event/wedding!
Ben went above and beyond for our wedding. He coordinated the timing of the event, kept the party going with music, and he even performed our wedding song for our first dance. He is a talented dj and amazing musician. Ben will help you have the wedding of your dreams!
Overall great DJ, tried his best during our rainy wedding, we had a great dance party and I would recommend.
Felt there was a lack of communication, including unanswered emails and our track for the daddy daughter dance didn’t get played correctly so I can’t give a perfect score.
Ben Warner failed to render agreed upon and contracted services and refused to refund any monies from deposit after he terminated.
On January 2019, we contracted services with a deposit for $627 for a June 2020 wedding. We had close communications during May 2020 to ensure Ben T Warner would be able to work the wedding worship with all of the uncertainties of the virus and executive orders of North Carolina. It appeared that they were noncommittal in April & May to the extent of recommending to us that we get another company to do the event. They canceled only 18 days prior to the event. At the time, NC actually had exceptions for weddings and funerals that allowed us to proceed. Fortunately we were able to scramble and find another vendor.
My husband and I booked Ben Warner for his services for our September 2020 wedding. We paid him for most of the services ahead of time. While COVID was still a large factor, we communicated with his business partner and wife through email in case anything were to fall through. We even discussed having him primarily play outside to stay safe. Up until a little over a month before our wedding, he cancelled on us- after several discussions leading us to believe that would not be the case.
While we totally understand a vendor cancelling for COVID reasons, we were not prepared for them to keep all of our money paid to them. They stated that because they had coordinated EMAILS to secure other musicians for our wedding, the fees we paid to them (>$800 if not more) would cover services rendered. These musicians were not going to be playing at our wedding so I’m not sure what services they meant.
All in all, I was devastated that Ben and his wife would take advantage of us and other people this way. It was heartbreaking to have to scramble and find someone else last minute when they had MONTHS to make the decision to cancel us.
I could even understand only giving us a partial refund, but they took every single penny. This was the only vendor that did this to us. Anyone else who canceled us, refunded us.
We were at fault in that our contract didn’t cover unexpected pandemics and there was no clause about them cancelling on us in the contract so we just lost our money.
While I’m sure Ben Warner is a talented musician and DJ, he does not care about their clientele. They have no problem stealing from their clients as was made evident to us later on. It felt slimy and dishonest.
There are plenty of other talented musicians and DJs in this area- consider them before Ben, especially if COVID is still around. He will take your money so fast and give nothing in return
15. Jamestown Piano Shop
Address: 3674 Community Rd, Brunswick, GA 31520 , Bacon County , Georgia , United States
If you like music (specially piano), this is the place in Brunswick! Susan is awesome! She makes this place super welcoming and special! She knows a lot about pianos and give us confidence to make good choices!
They seem to really care about all your needs and help you with what you need to buy
Nice, friendly, laid back. Let us browse without shadowing, but responsive to questions. Chose the walnut Baldwin upright.
Very helpful. A little warm. Lots of choices.
Horrible…went twice. Called multiple times..no response from owner. Trying to see if he was interested in buying my baby grand. He didn’t even have the decency to return my attempts. For that…I hope he never earns another penny. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
16. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Bacon County , Georgia , United States
Very knowledgeable help, attentive, well staffed & did an excellent job with my Ovation! Thank you!
i had an issue about paying extra for financing but the owner Jo called me to make it right. just ask about the interest free financing before purchasing. staff is friendly but financing was a different story
Jackson’s is a great local business! Their education reps are always especially helpful with our instrument rentals, repairs, and equipment needs and go out of their way to make sure we have everything we need in our band room.
English
I like this stores. You can saw variety of instruments. And if you want take music classes of any instrument, this is the place. You can found different types of instruments. (Wind, Percussion, string, etc.)
I come here for instrument repairs. I’m a professional musician that need his instrument asap. Mark at this location always fixes my sax perfectly. I’m going for a repad in the next two weeks
Always pleasant – always professional and it’s been that way since I moved into the area!
I’ve read some of the complaints here and I’ve not had those experiences and I shop there a couple times a year. I also understand how smaller music stores value the integrity of their new products by trying to limit maring the guitar finish with picks. You wanna do that you’re right- go to Guitar Center.
First rate staff and ownership and first rate lessons with an experienced staff!
I’ll keep going back!
Rude! Told them I was just looking around at the moment and was laughed at…. shameful behavior by talentless jokes!
this store is downright awful. the service is terrible and they try to pull every penny out of your pockets. small fixes can be charge to up to $200 and is downright despicable.
We have appreciated Jackson music for years, Joey the owner is very nice. I could not get my Mic to get sound out of it so the employee was helping me out Saturday,, he said try these cables and let’s see what happens,, it did not work because the problem was in my floor sound box,, gain was turned down. , I brought back my cables on Monday and different employee said it looks like you probably used them all weekend and now bringing them back? I said no that’s not the issue, he’s giving me Grief on $20 cables for 20 minutes,, wants restocking fee lol, I said to him this is bs, than he said he not going to refund me because I’m cursing him , I was no way shape or form cursing him,, he took $5 out for restocking fee,, pathetic
Excellent customer service, easy to contact and contract.
I would highly recommend Nigel for entertainment services. He is professional, on time and an amazing live artist.
I have booked Nigel for and/or recommended to a few of my corporate group clients and all feedback has been spot on positive. All feedback has been so positive, I booked him for a family wedding too!
Nigel was our wedding DJ last year. I cannot express how big of a help he was and how professional he was! He met with us several times before the wedding to know exactly what we wanted out of the music and he was so willing to put in so much work to create the exact atmosphere we wanted. His set up was amazing! I would recommend him to anyone! I still have so many people from the wedding come up to me, and say how great of a job he did. Not to mention he’s also an amazing singer, he can just do it all. Can’t recommend him enough! Thank you, Nigel for how you help make our day unforgettable, we appreciate you!
Nigel recently played for our executive retreat and was simply amazing. I recommend his services to anyone. The music selection was perfect.
18. Portman’s Music
Address: 2403 Westgate Dr, Albany, GA 31707 , Bacon County , Georgia , United States
The staff and service are great. I love the variety they have too. This is overall my first choice when it comes to my instruments because i know they wont let me down
Excellent store with plenty of inventory to browse. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable and always willing to answer any questions I may have. Thank you for the help and wonderful shopping experience!
I had to have a repair done to my granddaughter’s instrument She had to be in the parade the next day The man who does the repairs was leaving clocking out for the day and he heard what I asked He stopped and he stayed the next 20 minutes repairing her instrument. I am so grateful Thank you so much That’s why I buy all my instrument and musical needs from Portmans
I wanted to know is this the type of music store that gives singing lessons. I’m trying to find a vocal coach
Cannot say much. Open late close early and Sunday. There are few music supply stores in this part of central and south Georgia and none seem to try to cater to people who have regular jobs and cannot get there early to buy their stuff.
Portman’s music in Albany was great helpful and friendly. This is the second school term with me renting my daughters flute. I have been having trouble with the RUDENESS when I call in inquiring about my bill through the Savannah number. When I kept asking questions it always ends with “you can just return the instrument.” I called Wednesday to make a payment and ended up getting hung up on because I was told the same thing and guess what today they called my daughter school saying call them immediately! (Mr Rogers) why call my child school she doesn’t make the payment even the school was upset about the message when clearly they have my number and I answer and return calls when they try to debit my card and it’s locked I unlock it and make the payment but lately no calls just $100 payments taken off when I pay $33 a month.
19. Parker Music
Address: 404 N Westover Blvd, Albany, GA 31707 , Bacon County , Georgia , United States
Received great service. Purchased band instrument in great condition.
Very helpful and friendly.
Low selection on music equipment, little pricey.. $$$
This store is great if you’re looking for pianos, guitars, or some band instruments. I’m disappointed that they don’t carry more of a variety of hand drums. The people are very helpful & nice there.
Pretty down to earth store.
Not happy with how Ive been treated Was sold a Teton guitar – was told how great a guitar it was. I traded my Martin- it has been a nightmare since. Ive been thru Two Teton guitars and all have failed to work properly. I was told I would be called back and this store wont honor anything they say
Buyer Beware!! They do not stand behind what they sell!! Worse experience Ive had with a music store in quite some time.
If they all you guys say they are then why haven’t they answer their phone and I been calling since they opened at 10:00
I had my guitar amp on consignment for almost a year at the store and finally had to come pick it up as I was moving away. When I asked if anyone had any interest they said they had plenty but there were no offers. At no point had I received any calls of what people were offering. Also when I picked it up I thought the amp had been damaged as there was barely any sound coming out of my 120w monster. They had no idea what was going on and only offered to have it looked at by a tech. I brought it home instead of letting them keep it any longer. Only after five seconds of looking in the back I identified they had connected the speakers to the line out instead of the power outputs which could have permanently damaged my amplifier. This store has no idea on how to sell anything or even how to set up, operate or even maintain equipment.
20. McKibben Music
Address: 1118 Monticello St SW, Covington, GA 30014 , Bacon County , Georgia , United States
Friendly and very nice service. That’s what keeps me going back.
Bless and Great customer service.
Wonderful Experience, friendly people. Great teachers, too.
Super nice and most informed.
It’s ok
I like that this is “mom and pop” shop run by a older couple. They are super friendly and love to talk. Very friendly place. I like that they have a couch, chairs, or a bench to sit on while you wait for your child’s lesson to finish. They do have a ceiling fan to help move the air, but it can get a little stuffy at times in the waiting area and I find myself wanting to go outside to get fresh air.
Wish they had more music products to buy, like more music books. I would much rather support a local business than have to order music online.
Our loved piano teacher increased the fee so we thought we would try piano lessons here. Spoke several times to a lady on the phone whom encouraged us to “try” out a lesson. Never ever stating there is a $25 fee. I do not mind paying, but I did mind being surprised when leaving.
Upon arrival the older gentleman was SUPER sweet. That is so important to me. Very kind and nice man. It changed slightly when I was surprised I owed money, but that’s fine.
The piano instruction “room” is a very dingy, dark and TINY closet with an electric piano. I was expecting a real piano, not electric and it was very claustrophobic room.
We met with Rosa. At first she was ok. But she really has a persona of being annoyed about things. She suggested getting a notebook to write notes but we already had one with and she really, obviously, didn’t like our book . She did not instruct on posture or finger placement, I told my daughter, use point of finger, not the whole finger, sit up straight… i think thats 101 and should be imp. There were several instances where I felt she was just annoyed. When we left, she didn’t say anything like it was so nice to meet you, I look forward to working with you, have a wonderful evening, etc… she actually was annoyed about me asking fees for a partial month and rudely told me to speak with the front… since we are in the Oct already I was only curious about the monthly fee. She walked us halfway to the front, turned around and left… did not smile, wait for us to officially end the goodbye… I had actually said nice to meet you, thanks for your time, have a good evening to her back. Very very odd. That sealed it for me
*surprise fee
*closet of a room
*electric, not real, piano
*Rosa not very nice
*the entire place, even bathroom desperately needs renovation
We are happily taking our original piano teachers increased fee and looking forward to her excellent instruction in a beautiful room with a real piano.
Nice family business, but its just not for us. We wanted to try the other piano teachers and told yes we could. But… oh… they’re booked sweet gentlemen and I’m sure the other instructors are great. If I had known it was electric piano and that tiny room, I may not have even bothered. If it was listed somewhere, I obviously missed it. I hadn’t looked at the website. Just reviews and word of mouth.
asked if they had a ukulele and they didnt which was fine so we asked the guy to give us a call once they had them in stock we wrote down our number for them. Never received a call bought my ukulele some where else
Rude. Bad business. I never felt so out-of-place and disrespected. 1st of all, I walked in and spoke while he was yapping away on the phone. No response from him. He kept going on with his phone conversation as I walked around looking. So, I assumed he didn’t want my business and I left. A little later, I sent my daughter in because I found half of what I needed somewhere else. He actually suggested her to get the items somewhere else. So, she was very uncomfortable and left.
