We recently moved to Melbourne and bought a house that had a ton of equipment in it that was put in by a company that is now out of business. We called Indian River Sight and Sound and Gary and Donnie came and set everything up for us in less than 2 1/2 hours. They were extremely nice and took their time explaining everything to us and got rid of all the extraneous equipment that was not needed. We highly recommend this company if you have any IT issues with your home. We were very impressed with Gary and Donnie and we will definitely recommend them to anyone who needs their services. Thank you so much.
i go shopping here often and i has plenty of stuff
My builder used this company for home automation and alarm system. The home automation system didn’t work, the whole home Speaker system had numerous problems – had to end up replacing both. A year later, I get a bill for the alarm system, pay it, and they cancel my service. I call the office over and over again – goes to voice mail. Leave several messages – no response. Email them – they finally respond that I cancelled my service (they cashed the check for a years worth of alarm monitoring). Ended up switching alarm companies. Stay away from this company!!!
Let me preface this by saying that I have over 10 years of enterprise experience as a network engineer. Just had a new home built for me by Lifestyles and they used this company for their data runs and related work. In all my years of experience both personally and professionally, I have never had such a terrible experience or poor customer service. The initial walkthrough with Tom was an absolute horrendous experience. He was rude and condescending, and not to mention horribly wrong about technical specifications that he was rattling off. After a long and tedious walkthrough with him, fighting him on where I want MY data drops for MY house, it was finally over. Fast forward to completion of the home and upon final inspection I notice that none of the data ports are labeled and only a rudimentary port map was typed up. I took it upon myself to not only label everything properly from end to end but also to test the data runs themselves using my equipment. One of the data drops had a broken RJ45 connector and another just outright didn’t work and was failing the test with my toner. Additionally some data lines were ran and not even labeled or mapped and were just tucked away in the wall behind the plate as if they were ran accidentally. When they came out after we moved in to connect the TiO system (which is pretty bad in its own right) they guys that were out here were also rude, arrogant, and condescending. My family asked questions about the new TiO system and their response was “just look it up on the website and watch the videos.” I mentioned the issues with the cables that we were having and asked for them to correct them. They tried blaming the broken RJ45 end on me, stated that it wasn’t their fault the map was wrong, and then tried telling me that it was my equipment that was wrong and that theirs was working for the bad jack in the wall. I had to argue with them for nearly 20 minutes, showing them proof with multiple patch cables, several computers, and various combinations of connections that the port was in fact bad and that it was not me, the equipment used to test, or the computers and cables. Upon them finally reterminating the ends I got back out my equipment to tone the line and test it. They made snide remarks about how it will clearly work since they just did it and immediately grabbed their things and left without even sticking around to validate that it worked. If I, or anyone else in my field would have provided this poor of service with this level of incompetency, we would be fired on the spot. This has been a massive disappointment and I will never recommend anyone use this company ever again. I will also be making a call to our builder and putting in a terrible review for them as well and make a strong suggestion that they find a new data vendor for future needs.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! (They play on your lack of knowledge of their profession)
Google really needs less than 1 star for this review to be accurate..
The only place to really begin is at the time of contract review prior to signing. Excited for their new home, i wanted to make sure that my parents were not being “taken for a ride” due to the nature of the waterfront dream home. This company had the nerve to charge $250 per light switch. $245 per 720p (10ft. night vision) AMAZON brand camera system. Overpriced Denon TRASH. Dad had one request- simplicity. NUVO is far from Apple friendly. Airplay integration was a must and was PROMISED. Did some research, NUVO has no Airplay support. Per request, we wanted Sonos Amps to replace the NUVO tech. Tom convinced my parents that he was right as he was a certified NUVO Rep and that the internet doesnt know it all. Continuing through the packet, i found major flaws. All of which resulted in snide, personally degrading remarks on my knowledge. All to which i said okay, guess time will tell… 6,000sqft home and 1, heavily outdated router… Tom informed mom and dad it was plenty. I overruled as who wants to be at a house with no internet 30′ away from the access point? The mesh system quoted was series 1 of mesh networks (5 years old). OKAY TOM.
Lets get to the after install experience….
Upon move in, first thing needed to be heard was the stereo. Come to find out “We will be out in a week or so to finish the system”- Moving into dream home with no dream priced stereo in the background? After demanding numerous times, Tom (owner) finally sent a crew out. They turned the system on and left. Nothing worked as promised and GUESS WHAT… NO AIRPLAY!!! Tom had no defense other than-“it just takes time to learn, i have this system in my (Insert whatever braging about lavish home words you’d like as he used them all) mountain home in North Carolina and it is just absolutely beautiful. Give me until i get back from a month long trip there and we will come tune your system” Admitting his knowledge of the lack of AirPlay support. Everyone understands a nice 40-60 hour break-in period however what isnt okay is when the system just doesnt work. Problem after problem. 5 weeks later a crew arrived. Less than impressed with the result. Stereo on porch couldnt handle turning up past 35-40% volume, amp was overloaded. Come to find the stereo was wired WRONG, and the amp could not handle the power demand. After a very long and insult after insult from Tom and his crew filled convo about how they do this for a living but since we are paying i guess we can get the Sonos amps previously requested. 4 weeks later, Tom and Crew left defeated. Even with the wrong wiring job done by the crew, the new AirPlay supported (no profit margin to retailer/installer) Sonos amps DESTROY the old system. “You can not fill outdoor areas with 4 ceiling speakers” to one of the loudest and clearest 250W Stereo systems i have ever heard outside..
Needless to say we are now on our 3rd and wrong WiFi system. From multiple visits from internet provider to realizing the “certified install crew” more than likely stapled a few Cat6 cables…
The worst of all, how does a company accidentally carve a hole into a wall for the WRONG ($1,000 Cheaper) subwoofer? This was met with “oh my guys probably grabbed the wrong one, they look the same.” Im not certified here, but an 8″ sub in a rectangular shaped frame is far different than a much larger 10″ sub in a very large perfect sq. chassis. Either tried to sneak one by or this is an example of incompetency.
*I am writing this review per request of the homeowner- TOP DOLLAR, terrible, experience my parents received during and after the construction of their dream home. This review comes almost 1 year after move in. I must input i am not a certified professional in any sense other than i am 26 years old, grew up with an engineering mindset, and have a larger knowledge base due to years of hands on research and personal experience than this companies history combined.
I had a GREAT experience at this store! They have everything. They even worked with me on the price of the keyboard I bought. Thanks Bob and Bruce!
Awesome shop. My girl bought me a nice 1969 Yamama FG-230, 12-string guitar the other day. Great deal! The staff was very professional and knowledgeable, you can tell they did a great job cleaning this old relic up, it stays in tune and has an awesome neck and bridge for an old 12er. Great place for any musicians, beginner, intermediate and pro. And they have some cool electrics hanging in the back. Thanks guys.
Always helpful in finding exactly what you need.
Went with my daughter to purchase music book and look types of instruments. Found what I needed very easy.
Well stocked music store.
It’s a lively music store with lots of sheet music of all kinds, a large inventory of pianos, guitars, and other instruments, and busy with musicians and students.
This place is a rip off….cost me 60 dollars to have my 12 string worked on and when I got it home the electronics still didn’t work and when I complained about it all I got was a runaround. They wanted 150 dollars to replace the pre amp in the guitar and I told then no way. I went on ebay and bought the pre amp for $8.83 and it took me about an hour to fix it. Also the brand new strings they charged me for were all corroded. Beware of this place I will never ever do business with them again. Twice they have ripped me off.
Went in for an acoustic replacement part and the guy gave me a part for another guitar that was close but not right. Being an instrument shop, the guy should know what works and what doesn’t…or at least what to look for, for compatibility. It’s no big deal that I wasted the time and money…it’s the lack of knowledge from their part. I’m going to measure everything myself and order online, cheaper.
Also, come on, guys, every time I’ve gone in there (over 9 years) it’s always the same…dirty and dusty with a bunch of used unorganized crap everywhere. There are always people just sitting around and talking. I’m all for a cool hang out, but how about getting up off your butts and working your store a little. You have so much room and stuff, clear it out, clean it, and put it back in a better/improved way.
Lastly, your used acoustic guitars are miserable. I understand they’re used…but your prices are high and every guitar I looked at had major issue (cracks in the sound board or missing electronics with gaping holes).
Local shops are being killed by Amazon and the online retailers…you’re not helping to motivate us local musicains to support local shops. You could be the best in Brevard…but you need to do something and better yourselves.
Super nice guys but when I tried to trade my mint esp 1000 deluxe with case and a marshall amp with a footswitch for a $512 takamine acoustic guitar they also told me they wanted 400 bucks. I get they are a business but didn’t know they were trying to straight up butcher me on the trade. On the phone the dude named Mike told Bruce that my ESP is selling for 700. Kinda wrong imo. Nice people though
6. LIL4L Records Recording Studio
Address: 2061 Palm Bay Rd NE Ste 200, Palm Bay, FL 32905 , Palm Bay , Florida , United States
Great kayaking, friendly service, live bait shop, great river scenery including manatees
Nice place for boating or kayaking.
This was so fun. Six of us on kayaks. Great time. The sanctuary is amazing
Rent kayaks or launch your own (for a small parking fee).
If they would make it easier to get fuel I would add the other star
Unlike the guys down the street, they were there during business hours with a decent variety of items but best of all…LIVE SHRIMP!!!
Just walked in to find out about buying a boat and the man at the desk didn’t even acknowledge our existence….so we left to shop elsewhere!
First time getting service done there and will be my last. 20 plus days for 3 hr repair. They only have one tech so you are at the mercy of his personal time off. All staff is very friendly however they do not provide you will status updates so you will be reaching out yourself for updates and they do not have call waiting so good luck with getting anyone on the line when they are busy. Even if you leave them with detailed information, they will not follow your request. And they will purchase parts prior to constenting with you which I thought was completely illegal but whatever. I can say I am pleased to have my boat back in good running condition but I am not pleased with the overall experience and I am also left with the burden of purchasing new mounting hardware for something that I had replaced that I was planning to keep and reuse or sell in the future…
Parking now crowded& rack storage causes rust in side of boat causing stains on hulldecks& floors.
12. Wholesale Music Instruments
Address: 3000 W New Haven Ave, West Melbourne, FL 32904 , Palm Bay , Florida , United States
This place is terrific. They are helpful in every possible way. Gene and Kevin are terrific guys. I have never had a bad experience here. I wouldn’t go to a different music store (but that’s not true because if Gene don’t have the part in stock he directs me to a competitor that does)
Great.!!! Nice,clean store
I have Bought and Sold Gear from this Music store for a few years now and have Never had a Bad experience. Owners are always helpful and Polite. Prices are actually better than most Larger chain stores. Thank you Wholesale Music!
Knowledgeable
Live music? Wow
Came looking for a case for an odd-sized guitar, found a live sit-in jam session, how delightful.
Owners were friendly and knowledgeable. My case was out of stock, he was happy to order more in. All in all, a great little shop.
Gene and…Kevin? are cool guys. I get a bit of a push-to-sell vibe from Gene, but that’s no surprise. Got to make money to eat and grow the business. Wish they had a proper luthier in-store and maybe a sound test room, but lot of good selection for merchandise.
I came into this store looking for an openback claw hammer banjo. This man tried to sell me everything but. He tried to sell me his bluegrass banjos and then a 4 string banjo!! He told me i could clawhammer on a 4 string just fine! Evidently he doesn’t know much about banjos.
Prices are ridiculous.
$40 for a drum head that is less than $30.
Drumsticks were $20 when others sold them for $12.
Old guy was not knowledgeable at all about instruments or pricing and was being extremely pushy to sell telling me his higher prices were actually great bargains overall a very uncomfortable buying experience and not consumer friendly he told me a horn was worth 1k used but he was willing to cut me a deal of 500 turns out the horn is worth around 500 brand new
13. Prana Music Group
Address: 1058 Webster Rd SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909 , Palm Bay , Florida , United States
Great people and very pleasant. Clean and very organized.
Sam is the best
Always greeted hello when I walk through the door and they’re all very helpful
They have pretty much everything you need and the area
Convenient location, bigger selection than a gas station or mini mart. However, prices are higher than Walmart. The “Dollar” in the name is misleading.
Good place for quick bargain shopping
Dirty store
Only go to this location because it’s close by. The store is just run down in general. Their register systems are so outdated that it was hard to believe the first time shopping there. Not sure why the company won’t bother investing in this location. Most of the staff I have encountered so far are not very friendly. They seem annoyed and miserable with their job…though to be honest, I probably would be too if I worked there.
This store has always had bad customer service for over 10 years now!
16. Music & Arts
Address: 1408 Highland Ave, Melbourne, FL 32935 , Palm Bay , Florida , United States
The owner repaired sticking valve, cleaned up horn and is a GEM. 1st class in every way. They remain busy with waits up to 6 weeks but worth it.
This place is amazing ! Their customer service is Excellent and they even took the time to find a way to save me $40 on my son’s instrument.
The Horn Section saved the day! My son needed a Tenor Trombone Pixie Mute for an upcoming performance. I checked on line since I live an hour away and everywhere I looked it would come in after the performance. I even called my local music store and they did not have any. The Horn Section had one in stock and held it for me until I got there later in the day. I was greeted warmly when I arrived! Even though they are an hour away, I will start calling here first to see if they have what I need in stock before looking online again. Thanks again!
Apprehensive staff and good inventory. This place is great for supplying up for school band stuff
Friendly fast service!
Great rentals, they take good care of the instruments.
This is my go to music store, but I called and asked some questions about their instrument protection plan and received very rude customer service. Respectfully, I’m paying a significant amount of money to rent an instrument from them and it would be nice if they were a little more polite.
We now purchase our supplies and music books online because of the rude older sales lady. Sad to see other reviews posted about her and she still works there.
First of all, they need to extend their store hours for 2 weeks during August when students are renting instruments. I went on a Saturday and the line was over an hour-long. Secondly, a week later, I tried to return a still sealed, unopened package of reeds to the store and was told they were non-returnable, even though their website specifically says, “The following items are returnable only if defective or unopened or unused: strings, reeds, tubes…” I’m going to ask my child’s band director to consider recommending a different local business for music needs next year.
Love this place! Always taken care of by Regina and Aria!
They always give me the most money!
Thank you Michelle for your help today! Awesome service, fair loan, great experience. Clean and friendly environment. Five stars.
Place usually does a great job of getting ne what I need especially Jay
Always friendly
Pretty good deals
I went in there today to buy a gun and the workers didn’t even acknowledge I was in there. Probably because of my tattoos. They seemed very racist, like they didn’t want to sell me one of their over priced guns.
i went there to ask about a price on a guitar. No one ever came and asked if i needed anything no hello nada. I even waited by the checkout so i can ask they said someone will get to me in a few yea 20 minutes later i left dont waste your time.
Instead of going here go to Blue Diamond Pawn Shop they are amazing i love it there they are super friendly i go there all the time now they have amazing prices. i have never been disappointed there were as here in value pawn i have been very disappointed
So I went to this store because my phone was out of stock at the retailer. The girl in the store showed me that had my model. She showed me the pricing and it was 40 plus dollars more than brand new. They and further with the GM of company explained that they base the pricing on what people pay at other of thier store. So in a nutshell they decide what they want you to pay. The prices are not even based on retail. It is based on what they want you to pay for it. This is a bad model to purchase used items. Why would you pay more than retail. So I challenge anyone after reading this and go to them and look at their used pricing vs. brand new retail. They will scam you by anywhere 10 to 40 dollars on items.
