I love this local thrift store! I always find what I need here! Very reasonable price you can find clothes for a dollar, jackets for your family for round five bucks jeans for a dollar highly recommend!
this place is a goldmine of really fun thrift finds! absolutely insane prices that have me wanting to keep this place a secret . tiffany and martha were very kind and helpful:).
Great prices and customer service!
Esta cada día más bonito.
Great shop
Folks working there were very friendly. Prices a little high. Very small store. A good distance from my house. Don’t think I’ll go back. Get for the locals.
The two employees were too busy talking to each other, they didn’t say a single word to us. One of them almost ran me over and didn’t say excuse me or anything. Extremely rude and unprofessional!
Super unfriendly. Walked in and the owner/employee looked startled that we had masks on. I said hello and it looked like it pained her to say hello back. Not a word of “can I help you find anything?” or any words to indicate that as a customer I was welcome in the store. Selection and prices seemed decent but definitely not going back to feel unwelcome in the store!
I agree with Jay below! I will never return to this very unfriendly atmosphere. I can find good deals somewhere else.

Wonderful place in Ballground for a glass of wine. Owners are nice and very knowledgeable.
Todd and Cindy are phenomenal people and make you feel like family when you enter the door. Their passion for wine is infectious. Their presence is a blessing to the city of Ball Ground.
Super fun wine tasting on Thursdays. Owners are personable and attentive. Amazing selection.
Good selection of wine and nice owners. One owner tends to talk your ear off a bit when talking about the wines, which gets tiresome after a few visits. Also rude fat bald guy insulted me while I was there last time, and made a big deal about how tall I am, must have been drunk. Either way, I won’t be back after that.
9. Lora Mae’s
Address: 420 Old Canton Rd, Ball Ground, GA 30107 , Ball Ground , Georgia , United States
It was our first time dining at Lora Mae’s in Ballground. We were impressed that there is plenty of parking at the “old house” Cafe. That’s a plus in Ballground. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Our server went out of her way to get everything just right for us. Everything was very clean and the food was presented in an appealing way. The decor is nice with the original artwork that is for sale. We ordered the half-combo which is a sandwich, salad and cookie or chips. There was more on the menu like soups, specials and other lunch favorites. The selections change often which is my understanding.
Parking: There is handicapped parking close to the door and plenty of other free parking just for Lora Mae’s.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a low cement ramp at the front door.
The food here is always good and fresh, and there is a nice outdoor seating area, as well. My favorite food here is their chicken salad croissant, and meatloaf sandwich. Highly recommend this place. Enjoy!
Wonderful Cafe. The homemade chicken salad is delicious. The staff are great and our lunch was perfect.
Quaint, cute, friendly, food so so.
This restaurant is quaint. On this day I went with my husband on our way back from Gibbs Gardens. We enjoyed the simple and sweet atmosphere. I want to start by saying I very much want
Lora Mae’s to flourish. I could see myself giving a small intimate shower of sort in one of the rooms. However, I am giving it a three star rating for several reasons.
I will start by suggesting the food case should not have samples of the meals. When I walked in and saw the food in the case it all looked unappealing. I wanted to walk out but we were the only customers inside and I wanted to support this restaurant. We arrived around 2:30pm and everything in the case looked stale and sparse. In my humble opinion a better option would be to display some pretty desserts.
The young lady who took our order was very pleasant and helpful. My husband chose the meatloaf sandwich. It comes with coleslaw on the sandwich but he requested it be put on the side. Note this sandwich has no side to accompany it. I ordered the butternut squash soup and chicken salad. The order came out and my husband’s meatloaf had the coleslaw on the sandwich. To be fair, the young lady offered to take it back but he said he would try as is. The meatloaf had good flavor but a little thin sliced for our taste. The most unfortunate part was the bread was so tough to bite into. A softer bread would have been a much better alternative. I saw my husband struggling. The plate itself looked lack luster. We would be happy to pay a higher price for meatloaf sandwich that includes a side option such as potato chips, potato or pasta salad. It would have brightened the presentation. Food presentation to us is so important. Especially, for this sweet and quaint restaurant that has a nostalgic feel to it.
My chicken salad had a nice flavor but the salad itself was terrible. Thinly sliced romaine lettuce which I could hardly grab with my fork because it was thinly sliced with little pieces of tomato. It looked like lettuce you might discard. Nothing else. No cucumber, pecans, etc. In this lovely place I was expecting something more memorable. If you look at the pictures on the review site, which I did, there is a salad that looks way better than what I received. It came with a sweet dressing and it added a nice flavor to the salad. However, I would offer another option like a regular vinaigrette or balsamic vinaigrette for those of us who are not fans of sweet dressing. I would suggest putting the dressing on the side to allow customer to add desired amount. The butternut squash soup had a good flavor but was so thick it looked like baby food. All the food had great potential but somehow missed the mark.
Unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me take a picture because honestly I was hungry and not feeling too good. I needed to start eating something quick.
I love to see many good reviews and wish I could have given a five star because I believe in supporting our locally owned restaurants. I hope this review will not deter customers but instead serve as a way to improve towards the success of
Lora Mae’s.
As we left, someone wished us a nice day and thanked us for coming in. It was truly appreciated. I do plan to go again and give them a second chance.
I hate to give a negative reviews to a small business. The staff are lovely and the location is wonderful. When it comes to the food – it’s just not it. It tastes like the potatoes are older. I think what bothered me the most was that when I asked for avocado in my breakfast bowl, I was given store bought guacamole. There’s nothing that bothers me more than when people misrepresent fresh avocado and serve store bought guacamole. PEOPLE – It’s not the same thing, AT ALL. Preservatives in Guac ruin the taste of what an avocado should taste like. The food took forever to come out which is okay because we were not in a rush but it kinda felt like maybe there were teenagers cooking the food rather than a proper chef. It’s a shame I was hoping to come back but I won’t be.
We waited 40 minutes for food, chicken salad sandwiches & fruit salad. Only to find out they were out of chicken salad and had to go buy some. (We arrived a little past 11) I thought the food was freshly made since the menu is small & changes. We asked for our money back and left.
This place is pricey for the quality of food they served.
Worst meal ever! For $11.13 I got a burnt, flat grilled cheese and a cup of “tomato basil” soup. It was actually more like spaghetti sauce! Three others in my party were equally as dissatisfied with their meals. When I questioned the cashier, she said I had the ADULT grilled cheese and it was $3.50 and the soup was $5.00, still doesn’t add up to $11.13. I asked to speak to Nancy the owner and she wasn’t there. To top it off, we waited 37 minutes for this awful meal. Do yourself a favor and pass this place by. The cashier laughed when I told her I was over charged and offered a free cookie for our extended wait time! I didn’t want the free cookie, I wanted lunch! This place could be so nice too. Very sad to be treated so rudely and have such a horrible meal.
UPDATE
Unfortunately, your staff told you what they wanted you to hear. When I questioned what I was charged the young lady at the register recalculated and said yep that’s what you were charged. Giggled, turned around and walked into the kitchen. You have such a lovely location and such a great idea for the restaurant, it’s a shame you don’t have the staff too follow through.
10. Canton Music Shoppe
Address: 149 Reinhardt College Pkwy #11, Canton, GA 30114 , Ball Ground , Georgia , United States
Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Always been fair in their dealings with me. I wish them long and continued success. It is good to have them here.
Brennan is a phenomenal owner and guitar tech. He set my Les Paul up and it plays better than a new guitar off the hook.
The place looks great since the remodel and new owner. Brought my PRS and Telecaster in for some work and they play like new.
Great staff. Very friendly. Prices were great!
Had a bad experience shopping and selling here. I felt as if I was in trouble or under pressure the entire time. Both times visiting I regretting going. I prefer the smaller guitar store down the street…
Guitar work not up to standard……
I will shop there, but they will not work on my guitars anymore, very friendly staff and knowledgeable, and can do basics, but anything beyond that is out of their ability, I had my guitar worked on twice and both times they failed in regards to proper setup and intonation of the bridge etc, I had my guitar tech in Florida spend several hours fixing what they didn’t properly and found that a neck screw was broken, and the intonation had never been be addressed as well as the appropriate setup of a tremolo on a middle of the road guitar not 5k but not $500 either, so I like them but they are not suited to take on intricate bridge work and setups of electric guitars and bridges in regards to proper technique and application. It’s cost me several hundred to get something done three times which should have taken only once to do. Again, it is a great place and kudos to them for their pleasantries and knowledge but just not cut out for the discriminate player and needs of particular equipment of guitars.
Owner (I assume (wears glasses)) is arrogant and unfriendly. When purchasing strings, I asked what guage and web he recommended for my purposes. He looked at me and answered as if I was an idiot for asking in the first place. Strings were $5 more than I can get them online, so next time I will wait on them to come in the mail instead of supporting a local business. $17 for elixirs. Unfortunate.
I have taken music lessons from Alex and have become a very good piano player. I learned at a very easy pace but through his guidance and lots of practice, I have had great recitals. He is known by many of his students as being the best of the best. Alex aka Mr. C is a professional songwriter. I have purchased a couple of his original CD’s on his website:
melody Man Music. Com
Alex is an AMAZING Teacher. He is patient yet is able to encourage students to want to continually improve. He has taught our daughter so much. We are very grateful for his teaching ability. I highly recommend Alex if you want to learn (or have your child learn) how to play the piano. (A dying art form.)

12. Dominic’s Food Trucks and Dining
Address: 340 Gilmer Ferry Rd, Ball Ground, GA 30107 , Ball Ground , Georgia , United States
Best wood fire grilled pizza I’ve EVER tasted!! Friendly staff!! Kids eat free which is super nice! And best of all you get to meet Dominic and Miranda. Go check them out. You’ll be glad you did.
Dropped by for some of their ice cream. Amazing as always!!
I may have fallen in love with a food truck.
Long Island rock band Taking Back Sunday must have had a premonition about Dominic’s joint when they penned the lines, “You need me like a bad habit, One that leaves you defenseless, dependent and alone.” I felt the same – plus weak in the knees from ice cream overconsumption – after my first trip. I have no regrets.
Truthfully, finding pizza that ticks all the boxes in a family that includes NY transplants, children who cite “fast n fresh” box stores as haute cuisine, and totally naive pizza fans (me, myself and I) can be difficult. So when I was informed that no only had my family sans moi visited such an establishment but that the proprietor has gone so far as to tell my oh-so-picky-about-everything son how he REALLY wanted his pizza prepared, well, that would have been enough for me.
But as others have mentioned, they also have ice cream and drinks (kids can serve themselves from the water cooler inside which was a power trip my youngest son loved).
That was impressive but Dominic won’t be outdone on a Saturday night. So he ups the ante with a ribeye. Cooked to order with a salad and a knowing smile that says, “ I know it’s perfect but I’ll be back in 10 to check on how you liked it.” It was perfect and from the satisfied grins from the surrounding tables who ordered the same, I’m guessing theirs was too.
My kids loved it and I got to dance with my daughter to 50’s/60’s music from a live band. Suffice to say, I’m sold and will be back for more soon.
Food was pretty good made to order.
Best BBQ pizza I’ve ever had. Loads of meat with the great wood fired oven crust.
Let me first off say I really like their pizza. Tonight however I tried their BBQ and I’ve got to say they need to stick to Pizza. The brisket didn’t have any smoke and it was cut with the grain. The taste reminded me of pot roast. The wife had ribs which tried one and again I was disappointed. The ribs also had no smoke and tasted as though they had been cooked in a pressure cooker or boiled. I think the thing that was missing with the BBQ was love but certainly not with the Pizza. We’ll be back again for the pie thats for sure.
Really long wait after ordering. Apparently they sell a lot of for that gets delivered to the brewery across the street. A hamburger was ordered medium, but was very well done. The pizza was interesting. My son did not like it, but I thought it was fine.
They were too busy and we felt ignored so left.
Per your reply I wil only give 1 star reviews if the customer service is lacking which yours clearly was at that time. We were acknowledged but nothing spoken about taking order shortly. The lady was very busy berating an employee for everyone to hear which was totally unprofessional while handing out food to other customers without a word to us regarding will be with you shortly so yes I stand by my rating and statement of being ignored and lack of your professionalism/customer service.
Terrible!! Do not waste your time and money with this restaurant. I spent $90 for 3 pizzas and 2 pints of “homemade” icecream. This was a ripoff. The pizza was not 12″, more like 9-10″. Claiming to be brick oven was very disingenuous. The dough was tasteless, the toppings (which we paid extra) were almost non-existent. At $10 per pint of icecream was definitely not worth it. To make matters worse the checkout girl was snarky and sarcastic…like she was doing us a favor. Lastly they told us it would be 25 – 30 minutes before the pizza would be ready. When we got there the pizza was done and stored on top of the pizza oven and our salad was on top of the pizza. The pizza “cooks” in the adjacent truck forgot to add the salad dressing to the salad. I was very excited to experience this restaurant especially with the extremely high ratings. But from our experience it would appear the reviews were generated by the restaurant not real patrons. Don’t waste your time and money on this restaurant!
Incredible restoration of a vintage Gibson L5!!! Best shape ever, very professionally done, affordable, quick turnaround and friendly to boot! What a valuable resource for the pro!
Great spot, love the friendly service.
Amazing customer service. 10/10
Very friendly.
They were very nice.
Donley’s , always, customer service above par but their repair tech did not mirror Donley’s reputation AT ALL. MY 9YR old niece offered to try a repair. I will probably get the same visual “quality” result BUT WOULD SAVE $100.
Bought a guitar from them. Took it home only to notice that a string’s intonantion was off and the neck was too straight. Took it back for them to fix it only to find that they didn’t fix it at all. Took it back a second time and asked them to fix the intonation only for them to, once again, not intonate it but merely tried to tune it. Ended up having to intonate it myself.
What does it say about a guitar store that can’t even intonate a guitar properly given two opportunities?
I tried to buy ernie ball regular slinkys and they put ernie ball super slinkys in my bag while I wasn’t paying attention. Poor selection of accessorys.
