Great group of folks. You can find some cool instruments or take lessons. Relaxed atmosphere and a knowledgeable friendly staff enriches the area. Top notch
Personable, helpful, good vibes for sure!
Best people you can find, very knowledgeable, great prices.
Doti and Terry are wonderful! I love family friendly small businesses.
We have left three voicemails in the last week to see about music lessons for my child and not once have they returned a call. No one ever answers the phone. Doubtful they can stay in business with these practices. We won’t be calling again.
turned away because i refused to wear a face diaper. when you want to return to reality, I’ll happily come in for a guitar lesson. Thanks.
Been there 3 times at a normal hr after work at around 3-4 pm. Every time door was locked 2 times saw someone inside who did not come to the door. I was ready to purchase a new guitar with. Cash in hand each time. Also get my drum kit repaired. So willing to spend quite a bit of cash. So disappointed. Closest store to me. My money went elsewhere.i will not step foot in this place if the doors are open.
3. Music Showcase
Address: 402 Oakfield Dr, Brandon, FL 33511 , Balm , Florida , United States
Very nice staff and not pushy allowed me to try out several guitars no matter the price or difficulty to retrieve
Very nice and helpful people working there! Very satisfied with the customer service.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff
REVISION: after I brought this review to the attention of the management, they gave me a $15 credit – but the policy is still in place so be aware of this.******
I really like the teachers here, but the business itself, I am very disappointed in. Last week we received a call shortly before our lesson time that the teacher was ill and the lesson was canceled. No problem. Tried to reschedule but I am very busy right now with my work and extremely limited in my times that I can bring my daughter to the school (this is why we chose Saturday mornings, it’s the only time I have right now) Much to my chagrine, I was told that even if I could not reschedule the lesson, I would still have to pay for it – no credit given. The school tried to tell me it is a viable option to simply have two hours the next week, or to schedule two lessons a couple of days apart, etc. A few seconds of consideration will tell you that is not the same value. It feels like Music Showcase cares about its weekly lesson fee more than it cares about having a happy, loyal customer – and trust me, I am not very happy or feeling inspired to be loyal. I recommend that you find somewhere else to take your child.
Good clean store. When I was there there was no one who could find the music I was looking for.
Private lessons are conducted by Well qualified musicians… I recommend!!! Ask the staffs about the free WiFi when waiting…
Took my teenage daughter whose been playing for 2 years in to look at a possible new guitar while visiting her grandparents. We were instructed to NOT touch any guitars but to ask an employee to hand us what we were interested in touching. They had almost no employees available to do this. Never been in such an unwelcoming shop in my life. There are plenty other shops to spend $500 – $600 bucks in.
My son has been having guitar lessons with Greg for several months and we are only able to do every other weekend due to having a split family, which they were very understanding on at first. Now they have a student that can be a permanent student every weekend so Greg decided to bump my son out of the class!! They don’t care that we already paid for the class, they didn’t even bother to contact me and let me know!!! My son has been through a lot as it is and now is devastated because he really looked forward to going to class to learn to play the electric guitar. This is to me the worst type of business! Why would you kick a kid out of class because of a new student coming in?!? We have been customer’s for almost 6 months and now we don’t even matter to them! I will never recommend or go to Music Showcase ever again!! If you do decide to go there just know that this can happen to you too!
The worse customer service, we had a trumpet and was missing parts, kept having the same issues with the trumpet, turned it in, they say they fixed it but kept having the same issues. Music & Arts off of 60 is way better. You get brand new instrument with the case, better insurance and a lot cheaper.
4. Music Books America
Address: 3822 Sun City Center Blvd, Sun City Center, FL 33573 , Balm , Florida , United States
Love my teacher Karen. She is patient and teaches well. Thank you !!
Great place for children and adults to learn or fine-tune their musical talent.
Nice Teachers
Margie is a fun piano teacher. Reading for the first time at 71 years old is very difficult..
Karen is a helpful piano teacher and is well aware of my level of piano playing. She is also very understanding of me, since I am legally blind and have difficulty with my fingers while playing a song. I’m a satisfied student at Pianorama.
6. ART & MUSIC CENTER
Address: 902 W Robertson St B, Brandon, FL 33511 , Balm , Florida , United States

7. Music & Arts
Address: 2452 W Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511 , Balm , Florida , United States
Definitely coming back for more mallets and reeds!
These guys were super helpful to me when I came in to have my 12 string restrung! Three people helped me out through the process,,,,all were kind polite and pros…..Tyler ,Issic and Emily were all very cool and went the extra mile to take care of me ! Thanks guys !
Isaac was great to us. Stopped in for a quick purchase and was in and out quickly.
The map shows it in a different location, we used the directory to find it. It is near Marshalls as of Jan 21
This is a great little place with friendly helpful staff. While the selection is somewhat limited the pricing is decent and they do have a good variety for the space they have. I would definitely do business with them again.
Nice, small music store, friendly staff with a variety of guitar options. The location of the store however is atrocious as Regency Square Mall is a very poorly designed store layout and to make the situation worse they design engineers created a mall with such poor means of entering and exiting the facility that the patrons get the privilege of sitting in long lines (usually 30-40 minutes) just to get to the 2 main exit roads so you can sit through multiple light changes before you can actually get out of this nightmare. Love the store, recommend moving to a better location.
Good customer service
My grand daughter came for her lesson on Saturday to find out the teacher wasn’t there.
Staff informed her that teacher had sent an email to me. Well no email was recved, no phone call was made to make sure email was recved
So here she is 12 yrs old not knowing what is going on!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED, and mad at
me !!!!!
Y’all NEED TO BE BETTER AT COMMUNICATING
WITH YOUR STUDENTS, MAKING SURE THEY GET MESSAGES BY CALLING PLEASE!!!!!
Charged insurance for item for months, but when need minor repair they have no one in the state. Even lied about shipping label to return item. Don’t do it!
Very bad experience with one of the music teachers named Donny Mayer, he start making fun of me on my 2nd class, very unprofessional calling me names like “Judas” and telling that I never going to learn how to play guitar, after I decided to try with someone else… they also make me pay $50 more to be able to cancel and stop my classes, of course classes that I never take and I never get my $ back, What a Waist of money! ☹️
8. BRANDON GUITAR GALLERY
Address: 902 W Robertson St B, Brandon, FL 33511 , Balm , Florida , United States
Very friendly staff. I took my son’s guitar in for repairs and it works perfectly. Thank you.
Great place. Costumer friendly. The sales representative was awesome. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone
Very small store, but the lady behind he counter was very friendly and helpful.
Small store, large selection of music equipment also lots of drum hardware. Staff is friendly. I always go there for the little things… connectors/ converters, Picks , etc.
Woman who worked was rude to us
Ditto to Sara’s review. I’m looking to buy a new nylon string acoustic so I thought I would check out this shop. The lady ignored me. She probably knows nothing about guitars since half the shop is dedicated to picture framing. Still no reason to diss a potential customer. They had some cool guitars, but so does Guitar Center. Guess who will be getting my money.
They sell frames and guitar lessons. Their gallery of five guitars that appear to be the same is pitiful. Really nice frames though. It’s a gallery of frames.
9. Carlton Music Center
Address: 1902 Harden Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33803 , Balm , Florida , United States
Brendan was extremely helpful and a swell dude. He also has great taste in music and shoes.
Staff is always so knowledgeable and helpful. I have always had a wonderful experience at Carlton!
Friendly and helpful and I would recommend
Good place for find some stuff about musica like guitar, violin, chelo, etc
Very nice man at counter was very nice. We just looked around.
Is a very nice place with people that is willing to help
Went here to rent an instrument for my son…girl asked us to fill out application they want to know not just who you are and account info but employer name and number as well as spouse name number and a friend or nearest relative. I have never had to give the name of a friend or relative to buy a car or even a house….its an instrument…after giving them all that info the girl was rude I asked for manager he wasn’t any nicer and still question us about employment why I do not know both me and my husband are employed I just started pulling out my DL, bank card CWP….I mean what in the world…its a $1300 instrument!
Wish I could’ve left zero stars. I guess customer service doesn’t exist anymore. The young girl working the counter seemed overwhelmed and when she asked the longer haired gentleman at repair for help he seemed bothered. Just needed someone to look at my clarinet I have had for 30+ years to make sure it still functioned properly. They said they could send it off to the repair shop!! What a joke. Not sure how ypu work in a music store, but know NOTHING about the instruments.
Went in there to buy a drum head because Guitar Center wasn’t open yet or I’d certainly have went there instead. EVERYTIME I’m in this store I get watched and questioned like I’m going to steal something. It’s a very uncomfortable environment. No other customer was in there yet, and as soon as I walk in, they’re all stopping what they’re doing and looking at me asking if I needed help, and I said “I’m just getting a drum head…thank you.”, and I wasn’t looking for 2 minutes, and heard another employee say “everything okay over there?”….YES GEEZ!!!! Can someone take a few minutes and decide what product they want!? Just because you’re looking doesn’t mean you’re plotting a GD theft! It’s a $20 drum head! Gimme a friggin’ break! And ya know…much to their surprise…I PAID FOR IT! Guitar Center sucks too, but at least they give you freedom to comfortably browse at inventory without being asked what you’re doing. There’s no excuse for that behavior. Innocent until proven guilty….not in that place, it’s guilty until they see otherwise. From now on, I’ll wait for Guitar Center to open. I won’t spend another dime in Carlton until they get the FBI…I mean, their employees under control…
10. Dark Horse Music Store
Address: 105 S Collins St, Plant City, FL 33563 , Balm , Florida , United States
Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, love that they play Christian music in the store. Great group of people.
I came in during what appeared to be a staff meeting. A member came out, greeted me, and welcomed me to the store. He proceeded to inform me about the deals and giveaways, and gave me a brief history of the place. He invited me to explore the store and try out whatever I wanted, ensuring to stay close enough if I needed help, but distant enough to not make me uncomfortable. He was extremely nice and helpful, and the best employee from a music store I’ve ever met. Unfortunately I do not remember his name, but I will certainly be coming back again!
Great people!
Friendly and helpful staff… take music lessons, the store has music and equipment
It’s good what can I say there’s always somthing in there to do or see
Wasn’t at all like the pictures online. Only a handful of guitars, some cables, strings, and picks. They did say they were going through a remodel but it looked like it was more geared to other art and not so much music. The staff on hand were very friendly though.
currently in dispute with them over music lessons, and billing. My wife had to threaten with criminal fraud charges to get a call back from the manager. They picked up and moved in the middle of the night from one side of town to the other no notice not sign in window just gone. I did not find out till several weeks later what the new address was when they TEXT me about changing the lesson time.
The manager in talking with my wife said we show her signed in 6 times in January, she only went on Tuesdays and last i check there was only 4 in the month, so he is confused or some one is bad at book keeping.
First off someone has been deleting any negative reviews here. Second I was very dissatisfied with their knowledge and the instruments I purchased to put it in a simple statement I basically got ripped off by them. I would not recommend them under any circumstances. I have been a musician for over 40 years this is the only music store that I have ever put a negative review on that should be telling you something there. They do not have the knowledge needed to do any repairs a good chunk of their instruments or substandard they are also selling instruments new that are actually shop seconds in other words stuff that could be sold normally as new because of manufacturer problems. And if you happen to get one of these you’re tough out of luck and that was exactly what happened with me I have been majorly screwed over by this store and I’m speaking this from a very experienced musician
I drove two and half hours to support a small business only to realize they had the wrong listing on their site. I called before I left to make sure they had it. The owner was very rude and tried to sell me a used floor model for over what the listing was. Amazon is not the problem its small business owners not caring to connect with customers.
11. Music Etc
Address: 6005 Miley Rd, Plant City, FL 33565 , Balm , Florida , United States
Great place to shop. friendly clean and well stocked with food and department store items.
Found everything I needed in and out super fast great prices
Better walmarts are a short ride away from this one. Always looong lines for checkout here. Very crowded after 12pm on Sundays
Not bad
Messy but its walnuts. Is what it is.
Use to go here alot. Last time we went almost all of the check outs were replaced with self check out. I had something that wouldn’t ring up and it took 5 mins to get the chatty employees to even come over. Talk about a nightmare, especially during the holidays. Way to take more jobs away from the community. Won’t go back
Pathetic, those people do not know what they are doing. Rude and careless.
Lines were waaaay too long.
