My husband bought a 12 string Dean and loves it, Great service!
My go to place for all my music needs!
Friendly and very helpful. Prices are a little high.
A collection of acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, and more. Music lessons are reasonable and staff knowledgeable about music. The staff is also helpful and knowledgeable on products sold.
Ripped me off. Sold me a horrible chinese violin which broke within one hour of playing. They tried to pass the violin off as good for a beginner. The thing is literally disposable and was already used. Staff was also untrained and unqualified. Will NOT be back. DO NOT SHOP HERE

Address: 508 Harrison Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 , Bay County , Florida , United States
Very helpful staff. Enjoyable experience buying my daughter’s first guitar
They have a wide variety of music supplies and instruments in store. Friendly knowledgeable staff
Good store and they are helpful, the techs have been excellent. There seems to be a renewed atmosphere in the store. I actually had some one greet me as I entered. I love the selection of percussion instruments. Guitars run the gambit of styles and prices. Fender dealer, Martins, Gretch, Ovation, and any Ukulele you might need.
Very disappointed in the two salesman. Didn’t care if I bought a guitar or not. Very poor attitudes. Not interested in me at all. I was being friendly and told them that I couldn’t play very good and I have bought a guitar from them in the past. I finally asked them to think about one for me and call me back. I said do you want my phone number and he dropped a pad and pen in front of me. My friend who was with me said I don’t think they want your business. Iam 64 from Atlanta and just wanted a guitar while I was visiting my daughters. I’m a retired paramedic firefighter and those salesman need help.
I have been visiting this store for years. It has been a must stop when in Panama City. I stopped in today and found the usual great selection of instruments and accessories. I played a nice Fender P Bass today and practiced for the first time 4 new contemporary Christian tunes I will be playing at my home church next weekend. The store was not busy and I didn’t see anybody wanting to get where I was playing. I was shocked when after the second time through my 4 songs I was asked if I was going to buy the bass I was playing. I said no explaining I was playing these songs for the first time in preparation for next weekends service. I was asked to stop playing to make room for other customers. So I stopped playing and purchased a pack of music flash cards, which I found when walking through the store. I mentioned to the guy that asked me to stop playing that I play like this at Sam Ash and Guitar Center stores across the country and they welcome me coming in to play and I have never been asked to stop playing until today. Having bought a guitar, mixer, speakers and other accessories here before, I left the store wondering if I will return again after today’s experience in the not busy store.
In the past I have did a lot of business with this store .They have had great prices the owners was always nice to me until this past Saturday when I went to purchase a powered speaker I was given the wrong speaker and told by a employee that to take it if I didn’t like that I could bring it back and he had away around the 20% restocking fee he knew that wasn’t what I wanted when I returned it I still got charged be the manger said the speaker wasn’t in the same shape and the box wasn’t there but his employee took the box and the speaker was still in the plastic be careful when dealing with the Panama City location
I agree with others who were disappointed with the petty “5 minute play time” rule. If you’re looking to spend 2k or more on a guitar, better hurry and figure it out soon and spend that cash because they only let you try a guitar for 5 minutes on a lifetime purchase. Genius. I will happily drive the 2 hours to Blue Angels in Pensacola and spend my money on a guitar where the business allows players to find the right instrument for them. I will never be back to this place.
Went to buy a guitar here. Wasn’t much selection but I still found a few I was interested in. Waited over 30 minutes to try to test them out and somebody decided to use the test room as a practice room. Sign says 5 minutes but they were playing the same guitar the entire time. I ran out of time and had to leave. Ordered guitar online instead. Would have preferred to buy local but they didn’t seem to care that somebody was trying to buy a new guitar and amp.

Address: 1113 Beck Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 , Bay County , Florida , United States
This is a great little music store right in St. Andrews. They have very fair prices, and a fun/ great collection of instruments/ amps. I like to stop in here from time to time. Laid back vibe. People are always friendly. They also have a small studio in the back.
I walked in and was amazed. So many instruments. String, wind and percussion. Amps, heads and sticks.
They have Vinyl!!! T-shirts and apparel.
Steven is very friendly and will answer any questions. If they don’t have what you want, ask and he can probably order it. Prices are outstanding!
No “stuck up” people in here!
This is my new shop! Sorry guys down the street…
Amazing staff and the coolest store in St. Andrews. They have band ts, records, musical instruments, and lessons!? I stop by at least once a week.
5. Playground Music Center
Address: 27 Harrison Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 , Bay County , Florida , United States
I can not express how amazing this company is. Always extremely helpful. Thier customer service is always top notch. 5 stars isn’t enough. They are also extremely affordable!!!!!
Very helpful
Excellent, outstanding client service. Definitely a customer advocate. Unlike the other guitar store that treats their customers sub human. Home town feel for the home town person. Thanx Playground Music
I had an amazing first impression days ago, but today was all the contrary.
They make me feel really bad as a person.
Never judge a book by its cover.
I went in looking to switch from viola to cello. Paul was super nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an instrument.
Do not pick out an instrument on their so called rent to own plan if you are picky about that exact instrument They were supposed to fix a sticky tenon and instead gave my daughter a diff instrument that she disliked. I tried to get a response via email and they did not get back to me so I called and was told that I could not get back the original. I was contacted by the store after much hassle and then spoken to like a non musician and given back the flute without them doing anything about the sticky tenon! Only go here if you are wanting to try beginner instruments!
I’ve had a few dealings with this establishment over the past 10 years and overall am not very happy. The first time, I had them refurbish my wife’s mid-level flute, which I believe they contracted out to another location in the FL panhandle. The service rendered it playable again, but the technician scratched the silver in a few places. More recently we rented a French horn from them for my son. After a year, they would aggressively solicit us by phone and text to upgrade the rental to a nicer horn (at a rate of over $150/month). They continuously addressed me by the wrong surname and/or salutation even after I offered corrections. Furthermore, they mislead my wife and I about the credit we would acquire through rental towards the potential purchase of an instrument. This benefit is extremely limited and restrictive! The guys working in the shop were nice and helpful, so I have to believe that all of this is really an issue with management/ownership. That said, I can’t recommend them as a good music store.
Update: Thank you for your response. Just to clarify, I understand the cost of these instruments quite well. My wife and I just do not feel like a 7th grader is worthy of an instrument that retails for roughly $5-6k and felt that the sales calls were far too pushy. With regard to the flute incident, this happened many years ago, and I did reach out to you by phone. I was transferred to the repair technician, who explained that the cause of the damage was difficulty in disassembling the keys. No offer was made to polish or repair the scratches at that time, and I’m not even sure if this could be realistically done.
Accounting department is lacking. Starting with their company rep incorrectly completing Rental Agreement, billing errors (which I called to correct), followed by their text messages threatening repossession without the courtesy of a phone call has led yo more headache than it’s worth.
I have called Lamar’s person # that was given. me by the school Numerous times, as if this date, I have not received any form of response. Initially we went to band night ordered starter kit. Finally ended up going to Metro Music. They were very helpful. I now have everthing needed.
So bad my child had to experience a bad start to something that is so wonderful . Go to Metro Music, or their other affiliates, you’ll be happier.
6. Tadlock Piano
Address: 1320 N Tyndall Pkwy, Panama City, FL 32404 , Bay County , Florida , United States
These guys are such professional’s. From the sound to the aesthetics… A great place to record.
For no reason at all these people refuse to do business with me. In all of my interactions with them, they are either rude or they completely ignore me. They don’t know me and I’ve never done anything in any way offensive toward them to be treated this way. Very bizarre
9. Tadlock Piano
Address: 6827 FL-22, Panama City, FL 32404 , Bay County , Florida , United States
I am so pleased with this company from the very beginning on how they communicate with their potential customer and up to delivering my piano. They are very professional! I wouldn’t use anyone else but them for sure!
You guys were SO helpful. Thanks for your excellent work you two.
They charged a church a couple hundred dollars to come out and fix a problem with a warranty covered instrument, and still didn’t fix the issue. Couple hundred dollars just to say, “sorry, we don’t know what’s going on and can’t help you”. If you can’t fix the issue with an organ/piano you sold, you don’t charge them then, especially if it’s warranty covered!
10. Austin Music Co
Address: 17226 Panama City Beach Pkwy, Panama City Beach, FL 32413 , Bay County , Florida , United States
What a wonderful experience, our daughters were so excited to get drums and a guitar for Christmas!
Great job repairing my well used guitar. The work was done promptly at a fair price. I think I found the music store I’ve been looking for.
I finally decided to stop in just to check out the store and I was amazed. There are all kinds of great instruments at RIDICULOUSLY low prices. There are music lessons and you can even rent an instrument. By far the best musical store in the panhandle. Anyone interested in music should definitely check this place out.
Needs variety
Good selection of instruments and knowledgeable staff. It is a nice touch that they are involved in the local community as well.
The lessons are expensive $30 for 30 minutes I don’t recommend it but I mean it’s good
Went in to purchase strings, was charged double the price for them. Next time I will get them online, put a end to that kind of crazy happening again.
I used to go before the ownership change to have my violin serviced. I went to the counter and talked to Seth and I left wanting to cry. When I opened my case he picked up my violin then out of the blue asked if I wanted him to take off the finger tape. He said he didn’t like his students using it since it was a crutch. I said no thanks I like having it and he said “oh… ok” in a very judging and condescending tone. He then asked how much I paid for it (super disrespectful and unnecessary?) and when I told him he scoffed and said he wouldn’t have paid half of that. He then proceeded to turn over my violin and point out every imperfection (something about the bridge being too high, fingerboard not angled properly, and spots of varnish). He said it looked “haphazard” and was shocked I paid that. This was a violin I’ve had for years, absolutely love, and that my parents worked hard to afford. I was too shell shocked to take the violin back from him and leave, and after all the insults Seth said “it seems fine you don’t need service” then asked if I wanted lessons from him. The audacity?? At least he didn’t try to sell me stuff I suppose. I know this is a small business and I hate to not show support but like I said before I left in tears and with a horrible experience. I can’t recommend this store and especially not Seth for your classical instrument needs. I don’t understand how anyone can stand him for a lesson, I’ve never met a more condescending person in the customer service industry.
