Always great workers great selection good. Deli as well
The people that work there are very nice, it’s well organized most of the time. Sometimes sections get pretty disheveled then staff reorganize the merchandise. Order with curbside pick up is very efficient, prices are better than many places. The Angus beef is usually very good. They take returns without a receipt if you have the credit card purchased with.
Better than Safeway.
I went in for produce and was disgusted by what I saw. Old stock.
I usually get what I need there but in this case need better tennis shoes! Lol!
Sallright
Crowded & understaffed
Rude employees. Not all, but a few rotten eggs
Was unable to see a saving of cash on the majority of items I wished to purchase.
2. Elk Valley Casino
Address: 2021 Elk Ranch Road, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
The people are nice and the atmosphere is very cozy.the game’s are all up to date and lot’s of fun.then if you get hungry the cafe has some great food. Stop and enjoy all it has to offer.
Good people that work there very nice
Staff is awesome!! AlwYs a good time!!
Good lil casino, bingo is good time. Food is good.
This review is for the bar and grill
Excellent food and great staff. Open super late and with a stocked menu. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is the prices have gone up in the recent months by wide margins.
The new casino is the worst stand in line for ever to cash in tickets and machines are the tightest iv ever seen
No good
Not many jackpots very small casino so they not letting much go in your favor
3. Starbucks
Address: 450 US-101, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
I love Starbucks and this one had amazing customer service great job guys keep it up
Very nice folks behind the counter!
One of the drive thru staff has the clearest and most concise voice. Made it easier to order.
Coffee is mostly great. There’s a guy there that always burns the coffee though. Some of the people need to take notes from the nicer ones because they arent all friendly. Randy and Suta (I have no idea how to spell it and I’m sorry I butchered it) are the best, the manager is pretty cool too.
Great service, fixed my drink with no problems, rest of order perfect. I would have given 5 stars had the restrooms been clean.
convenient
Worst Starbucks I’ve ever had to wait in the line to go through. They don’t have any alternatives other than coffee and basically no food options either. Don’t waste your time or money.
Very rude! I understand it’s Christmas and they are closing but they didn’t have a Closed sign. And when I looked through the glass, they all ignored me. It would have been more polite to say something and have a Closed sign instead of ignoring a costumer.
Literally waited 50 minutes in the drive through. Maybe 10 cars in front of us. We had 2 drinks and 2 cold food items…sat at the window for 8 minutes.

Great coffee and smoothies! We love DB. However, the drive through is very very challenging.
Good Service..nice people
Staff are friendly and the service is good! This coffee place is a good addition to our town.
Only one entrance long lines but it is Dutch brothers so friendly service delicious coffee worth the wait
Love the coffee drinks
Very disappointing! I was so excited that they have Oatmilk, now. I ordered it at 190° (I like my drinks hot and for a long time.)…it was luke warm! Sadly, we were back on the road when I found out.
Coffee was expensive and tasted bitter
To expensive
6. St. Vincent de Paul Society
Address: 1440 Parkway Dr, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Great items, super deals. Every day something is on sale. Clothing is on sale on Tuesday. Employees are friendly and helpful. There is also a food and clothing pantry at this location.
Good stuff and great price
Very very nice and friendly I may help you with everything
Good prices…just kinda empty
This is a great local thrift store. Friendly people and good deals.
Prices are good. People who work there are very kind and helpful.
I have been stopping in this thrift store for years. Every time I drive through Florence. I’ve always been able to put my two chihuahuas inside the shopping cart and take them inside the store with me. But we got kicked out. She said it was a new policy. No dogs allowed. I will never shop there again. Because I do not leave my dogs in the car. I will not risk them dying of heat stroke.
I’d rate them higher but they take NO credit cards and they have an $8 minimum to use a debit card.
This facility does not offer a bathroom for disabled persons, military veterans or the elderly. Unfortunately, I had an accident, and had to leave in order to clean up the mess. Thank you to the tall skinny blonde, with short hair and tattoos I know not to ever visit this place again.
It’s been quite a while since I posted this review to the St. Vincent de Paul Society…. They seem to not care about disabled persons at all in California.
7. Schmidt’s House of Jambalaya
Address: 110 Anchor Way, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
What a lovely hidden gem. First let me tell you that we are well-traveled gourmands and have eaten in NOLA. I also am an excellent cook and have cooked NOLA-style. And we are muffuletta snobs. And generally try to eat our weight in crawfish when in NOLA. That said, we were so excited to give Schmidt’s a try. And we were not disappointed! From the start, our experience was so memorable. We had our dogs with us and they welcomed them through the restaurant to their sheltered outside seating area. Rob held the door open and was such a gentleman. I used the restroom first. It was not only clean and well-stocked.but as a handicapped person I am always aware of how accessible things are. Bathrooms are often not. But for such a small cafe they have a wheelchair-worthy restroom. Once seated I was pleased to see a cloth napkin, expertly wrapped around my flatware but was surprised to see that inside was a paper napkin, protecting my eating utensils. Again, such class for such a humble-looking restaurant. These little touches alone tell me that I am dining in an establishment owned by a world class restaurateur who cares about the details. The menu is impressive and it was difficult to make a decision but we settled on starting with crawfish fritters and Boudin balls. They were deep-fried to perfection and served beautifully with remoulade sauce artfully drizzled. Rob advised us to cut open the deep-fried morsels before eating to save us from burning our tongues, another sign of an attentive waiter. I had their mimosa, my hubby chose an organic ale from their extensive beer list and our son ordered a non-alcoholic beer. Rob apologized that they did not currently have them in stock so Kyle ordered a cappuccino. Rob came back shortly to apologize that he couldn’t get the espresso machine to pressurize. Kyle was happy to settle for a soda. But Rob insisted on persevering and soon he appeared with a lovely cappuccino that Kyle hailed as excellent. For our main courses the boys chose the muffuletta and muffuletta supreme and I chose the jambalaya. Rob pressed me to add garlic bread which I agreed to, planning not to eat it as it is usually a disappointment. But OMG! Even the garlic cheese bread is superb, perfectly crispy in the outside and tender in the inside. We all gobbled it up. The sandwiches, made with their homemade tapenade, were divine—Rob placing my hubby’s supreme appropriately in front of him to show how the sandwich with 2 olive eyes was looking at him!—and my jambalaya was superb. Rob let us know that the jambalaya is made fresh daily by the owner who comes in early to prepare it and it shows. Again, a restaurateur who cares. Even the dill pickles served with the sandwiches were excellent. I’d swear they were homemade. The meal done, our palates happy and tummies full we were actually sad to be leaving. So we ordered a lovely bottle of local rosé and an ice cream for our puppy and moved outside to enjoy the view even more. Rob went to the trouble to nestle our dog’s cup of ice cream into the rocks so his licking action didn’t flip it over and after we had a glass of wine he re-sealed the bottle so we could carry it in our car. So many special touches. Such wonderful service, even in a time when staffing is impossible and restaurants are struggling to recover. Please don’t come here and complain about the cost of the food or the time it might take to prepare it. If you want cheap, fast food go elsewhere. But if you want a memorable dining experience with fine food in the unlikeliest of locales, Schmidt’s is for you. They understand laniappe.
Best food In town!
Best Jambalaya I’ve had on the west coast. My husband had never had it before and was very impressed. Service was exceptional as well
I like their ocean view deck and their food is decent, just wish they had a slightly larger menu
Really good!!!!
Po boy had too much vinegar and olive: very strong taste; didn’tike it that much. And fries portion was too less for the price.
Very small and crowded. Food portion was very less, also I tried their signature dish , house of jambalaya which I did not like at all. It was disappointment for us
We made reservations for Mother’s’ Day. After a two hour drive from Medford and calling fifteen minutes before our arrival, a table wasn’t available upon our arrival. We finally were seated after a long wait as if we were walk ins. The food was acceptable, but not great. We ordered Po’ Boy sandwiches, which we enjoy after living In Mississippi for a time. They brought us half sandwiches. I questioned the waitress about the size and she wasn’t wanting to hear my question of the size for a $13.00 sandwich. We routinely bought full sized Po’ Boys in the south for $7-$9. Our lunch was $40.00 for two half sandwiches and two glasses of ice tea. No chips or fries, just the half sandwich, a couple pickle slices and a pepper. $5.00 of total was a tip because I believe in tipping when we eat out. However, it wasn’t the 20% we usually leave. We left quite upset and would advise anybody thinking about going there to give it a second thought.
Not sure what they make Boudain balls out of but it was not good.
An order of crawfish is roughly 6-8 pieces. Anyone from Louisiana would walk out on these mushy morsels. The owner needs to visit a good Cajun restaurant to see how bad the food they are serving is.
8. McDonald’s
Address: 380 M St, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Upon entering the McDonald’s, I was greeted by Amy, a friendly person, who acknowledged me and then the other person at the counter assumed the duties of taking my order. As usual, it was clean but busy. My order came quickly and I found a seat in the rear of the dining area. The chicken sandwich was good and cooked and presented well.
Just another normal McDonald’s. Food was mad correct.
If you like several homeless staring at you eat and making you feel very uncomfortable this is the place. However it is probably the best McDonald’s burger and fries I have ever had in my life.
Good fast food nice staff
20 minutes for a sausage biscuit is just dumb!
Fifteen minutes to get A kids meal
Same as the rest
9. Redbox
Address: 475 M St, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Just wow! Didn’t expect the amazing experience we had. It’s just a very cool ambiance and welcoming environment. My friends and I were looking for a spontaneous dinner spot. Enoteca delivered!! The owner, Darryl , came out and greeted us before our meal was prepared, just to ask us how our meal was. I myself had the crusted prawns. OMG!!! I can’t rave enough about this sitophilia dish!!! They had this guest chef, who was heavily tattooed, dressed VERY dapper, who made our dishes. I don’t know what this genius was doing in a small restaurant. His plating was impeccable and so ornate. I almost didn’t eat it. It was a piece of art that I wish I could have shared with the world. Highly recommended!!! 10
Good food great service
Small cozy and a great selection of beer
Good food.. Great drinks
Friendly place.
Great food, great atmosphere!
Good friends with great healthy food
Too slow service
Fries were not that great.Bacon Burger was very greasy and unwieldy to eat after it sat for a short time. Bun was not a bun for long. Atmosphere kinda tacky. Staff ok.
On two separate occasions the wait staff did not serve the meal with what was listed as on the menu. Has to ask for it. Took a long time. Furniture is uncomfortable.
11. Purple Cat Thriftshop
Address: 457 Vance Ave, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Really well organized. Friendly atmosphere, lots to explore. And there are a few very sweet resident kitties hanging around too for extra coziness. Fairly priced.
Lots of good stuff!!
Found what I needed, won’t be going back there. Easy to get into dispite being disabled. The son of the cashier felt the need to make a “cripple joke” as I came hobbling to the counter. If you enjoy the smell of cat urine, look no further. The purple cat has got covered. (5 stars for having what I needed)
Out of all the thrift stores in Crescent City (which is in serious need of a decent thrift store!), this one really tries. Although small and full, everything is organized making it easy to find what you may be looking for.
Like others before me, I, too, noticed an overwhelming odor of cat urine when you enter the store. However, if you can get past that (some people can’t I guess), there are deals to be found.
Good, smaller thrift store with genuine thrift store pricing. Will be returning for more.
The smell was too bad to even look at all the stuff they had. Cats are great but before even entering the store it smelt like I was walking into a litter box.
This place smells horrible! Strong cat per smell made me gag.
Will never be back!! Smell so bad I gagged will research who to call u need to be closed for health reason!!!!!!!
12. Parkway Drive Antiques
Address: 1650 Parkway Dr, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Wonderful couple were willing to help me out all the way in alaska.upon slight hiccup.she promptly fix it and went way out of her way to help.highly recommend .great product.would love to shop more . great service.thank you
Wonderful shop! Loads of unique & fun items.
Awesome people and great antiques and collectables
Owner is a nice woman 🙂
This photo is taken on Railroad street as it passes over Hwy 101.
The actual storefront is farther north on Parkway, West side of the street. There are usually flags and signs, but you can’t actually see the store until you pass the driveway for it…
Great place to sell your wares. Good place to shop on weekends. Owners , Dean & Laura are usually on premises & very helpful. Never know what you’re going to find!
Had some interesting things
Great place for bargains and trading
Love this place. Plus to get a spot to sell for weekend it’s only $10.
Not to many things and items prices are higher than the yard sales.
15. Sylvia’s Attic
Address: 140 G St, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Books, books and more books that are reasonably priced. Sylvia herself is very helpful and a treat to talk to. We live in Medford yet always find time to stop by Sylvia’s Attic on our coastal trips.
I stopped by here in October when driving through town and I was so happy I did. There are so many treasures and things to see. My husband found a few books to add to his collection and I got a few puzzles for mine. Extremely well kept store and the owner is an absolute sweetheart!
I have a reminder set for my next road trip to stop by!
So many cool things with antiques and furnishing. Books and collectibles to no end. Owner and staff is excellent
Great place!
Lots of books for sale.
Outstanding inventory! Not really a thrift store as the price’s seem steep. Got the impression they have a lot of trouble with theft. If your looking to find a good book this is the place. They have lots of collectibles and an entire large room devoted to furniture! Be prepared to do some exploring as there are several semi hidden rooms. Huge parking lot1
So expensive I asked for thimbles she say 15 but there is a price tag of 10 on them.
Um, no. I went here looking for a Caboodle which they miraculously had. 8 bucks. Cool. Then I grabbed a couple unopened puzzles and headed to check out. My total came to $19.95. I didn’t realize the puzzles would be that much. Usually puzzles are 50 cents or so. I only had a 20 and didn’t feel like spending all of it, so I said nevermind on the puzzles. The lady was SO MAD AT ME. She THREW a plastic bag at me and then told the person behind me “I can help you now sir” as if I was no longer there. The man behind me said, “No, she was before me. ” The lady was so mad. I said, “Thanks, sorry about that” and she ignored me. I left. No plans to return.
Owner was nice. Prices were pretty steep ($3-5 per VHS!) I would have given it 3 stars, but they had government propaganda (CNN) playing loudly.
16. The Apple Peddler Restaurant
Address: 308 US-101, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Enjoyable. Food was good and the service was excellent. When I’m in Crescent City I drop by for breakfast or dinner.
Like we could go visit Crescent city and not visit the apple peddler ? The apple waffles were amazing. The omelets were huge. We came hungry and needed a wheel barrel to get to the car. We also bought some Salt Water Taffy for the road.
So good. We had breakfast here and it was abundant and delicious. Our waitress Shawna, was excellent and very attentive. Our coffee cups were never empty. A little pricier than your average breakfast place but so worth the extra money.
Came for the blackberry cobbler. Got it a la mode. VERY good. They even warmed it up for me to go.
Vine por el BlackBerry cobbler. MUY rico. Me lo calentaron para llevar y también pueden incluir helado.
Good prices, fast service and reasonable prices
Waitress was very nice and attentive. The salmon steak was ok a little overcook. Pleasant experience.
Three time we had a bad experience not happy
Would give zero stars if possible. Ordered french toast and after waiting an hour it never arrived. Server offered 10% off my still yet undelivered meal.
Stopped there to eat while vacationing in the Redwood National Park. Food was so-so. The waitress was friendly but the service was extremely slow even though they weren’t busy. I feel like we had to wait at least 30 minutes for her to come back to our table so we can ask for our check. Won’t be going back if I’m ever in the area again.
17. Verizon
Address: 1302 2nd St, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Alex was excellent at helping my son and I purchase our new phones and service. He answered a ton of our questions with a positive attitude. Thank you for all your help.
You’ll always be welcomed with a smile and these guys are really helpful
Very helpful
They were friendly and knowledgeable.
We got new iPhone 14 and it was a good deal and great customer service
If ever there is a problem, management takes time to work it out with the customer and I appreciate that
Have been waiting to get assistance for 1 hour so far. Need help with switching simcards (free service) . a lady that came after us to buy a phone is getting service right now.
Would not return items.
I purchased a tablet from this Verizon store because the employee I spoke to encouraged me to do so . It didn’t perform the way I wanted it to, so since the employee said I could return the item in 14 days and have all my money returned to me I went back the following day (today) and was charged $20.00 for the time the employee spent “working “ with me. Seriously? How about my time? The employee should have told me, “there’s going to be a charge no matter what,” instead of just charging me. Dissatisfied? Of course, a deals a deal. You say a person gets a full refund, that’s what it should be.
18. 2nd St. Gallery
Address: 1228 2nd St, Crescent City, CA 95531 , Bertsch-Oceanview , California , United States
Fresh and amazing thank you guys 100% for doing yall jobs
I had a great day there. This place was clean and food.
Yummy for my tummy
It’s a burger joint
The burgers were a bit sloppy, the drive through took forever. And the fries had a terrible after taste. However they didn’t mess up the order
9 minutes to order, 15 more to get to the window , shorted me 3 burgers, will not answer phone.Terrible
They are ao so so slow in rhe drive threw took me 30 min to get my food
We ordered 4 rodeo cheese burgers. We got 4 burgers without cheese!! We took them back and were treated poorly. 20 minutes later we were once again handed 4 cheese burgers that had hot sauce on them. Causing my child to burn her mouth. I went back a third time. They offered replace my food again. Are you kidding. They failed to refund the purchase. And acted like I had did something wrong. Excusing the mistake because the sauces are unlabeled. Are you kidding. Avoid this location if you accually want to eat.
