Plenty of selection of foods, snacks, forgotten supplies and your everyday needs.
Really helpful and friendly people. They had toilet paper when literally no one else did. There was a line at the register and they called for more cashiers. Very efficient.

This place has the best folks working for them and the owners are fantastic. They have helped me in a way I never thought would ever happen to me . Thanks for all they have done in the medical hard times I have been forced into. Amazing people awesome place don’t be alarmed if you find yourself in the store for longer than you figured . The things they have will keep you looking for another treasure. Thanks y’all have been awesome. Don’t pass up this place you will regret it.
Girls that work there are awesome!! Great finds and warm people.
Always a pleasure to go there and they have lots of stuff…
Slightly dirty small town thrift shop with an equally small selection. If you want a retro mini tv or a 15$ delapidated armchair this is the place for you. Despite being dirty and having a small selection, its worth it for those on a tight budget.
I always try to stop by here if I’m passing through Black Canyon City. It’s a fun little thrift store to look through. Not the biggest or greatest collection but you never know if you’ll find a diamond in the rough. Lots of old vintage stuff like old movie tapes, books, tvs, computers, etc. lots of out dated stuff nobody is going to buy.
Friendly people
Items of junk
4. The Venue At Chilleens
Address: 33150 Coldwater Rd, Black Canyon City, AZ 85324 , Black Canyon City , Arizona , United States
I had the best experience getting married here! It’s such a beautiful venue and they do EVERYTHING for you!!!!! I still have guests raving about the food and how much fun they had 6 months later! I would recommend everyone I know! They’re the best!
A beautiful rustic wedding venue.
Worse parking lot ever for a wedding venue. Service was good.
It’s OK for a bar
Unexpected wedding venue… beautiful setting, enjoyable time
This is just a heads up for all Brides. Be prepared to make sure you go over everything you are wanting thoroughly and many times over.
Especially if you plan on saying your own wedding vows. The minister is the bar owner and did not give my daughter a chance to say their vows before she read hers which was stated to the wedding planner Aleah ahead of time. This was very embarrassing for the couple. Another thing was if you pay for the food and there is a lot of left overs you better let them know immediately you want them otherwise they will be given to the employees that you paid for. Also if you choose the bbq chicken sandwich, it is NOT a sandwich but shredded chicken on a plate with not bun as stated. Another heads up to the brides or their parents thinking of using this venue, Do not let them cut all your cake at once. They wasted more than three quarter of the cake that dried out since the guests were busy dancing and not eating. Make sure only the needed amount of cake is cut. (Another waste of money). It is a beautiful scene for a wedding and the photographer April is wonderful which she does more than just the photos. Thanks to April she solved several issues that arose before the wedding began. Think about hiring your own DJ too. Parents & Brides just clarify ALL details many times over if your choosing this venue and hopefully your wedding will be flawless. Beautiful but disappointed too especially for the price.
Over priced
Couldn’t even get a seat. Lol what a joke. They looked at us, judged what we were wearing and walked away. Horrible customer service. Extremely judgmental environment. Food smelled great but the stares were uncomfortable.
5. John’s Corner Music Shop
Address: 8680 AZ-69, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 , Black Canyon City , Arizona , United States
John’s has a large selection of guitars and other string instruments. There are also some brass instruments. We got a great deal on a trumpet. Great customer service!
Got what we needed always a wonderful atmosphere. Jack Chris and Zack attentive and helpful
Went in to buy clarinet reeds with my 10 year old. Ended up staying awhile making some new friends. Super sweetheart of a guy (Jon). Chris was way cool too. Jon showed my daughter a few things on the guitar. He makes interesting instruments too. It’s all second hand and really good prices. My daughter will be getting guitar lessons for Christmas. What a great little shop!
wouldn’t give it even one star! I just went in to grab some guitar strings and was never once acknowledged the whole time I was there. Not even a greeting. needless to say I walked out. Not sure what the deal is in this town but I have yet to encounter any sort of professionalism with the businesses here!!!
Low quality gear that is way over priced.
6. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 4402 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304 , Black Canyon City , Arizona , United States
Loved this store, can be there for hours. Staff was nice and helpful 🙂
Staff is very helpful. I buy my guitar gear here. Better than the Center.
Had a great experience. The service was above and beyond. Everything went perfect. Went home with a the drum kit I wanted. Definitely will keep in touch with this store and will definitely shop there again.
Sam Ash offers a little bit of everything for musicians. Good selection of both electric and acoustic guitars, Electronic Bass, Keyboards, Pro audio equipment, DJ equipment and accessories. Not as jam packed like guitar center can be. They also have classes available.
Friendly people and lots of music stuff. They need more sales people, tho. I was going to spend serious money on an amp and possibly more on accessories, but i couldn’t get any help, so i went down the road to their competition. I’ll let you know how the competition did. I’m about to go inside. Wish me luck…
Staff are fantastic but supplies are limited.
Very limited stock and prices were much higher then guitar center or musician friend
If you are in a hurry go somewhere else. The amount of paperwork that they do will keep you there a lot longer than it should.
Out of everything. Inattentive associates. I wasn’t going to post a review but you asked
7. Brindley’s Music Center
Address: 836 N Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85225 , Black Canyon City , Arizona , United States
They did a great job getting my Strat up and running after it sat for so long. They have worked on all of my guitars and they all are still working as great as the day they left the shop. Very professional and quick turnaround on setups and repairs .
You guys have been truly amazing to work with! From the rental process, to purchasing the instruments and regular maintenance and care… Just amazing! Jake does an excellent job repairing the instruments anytime we bring them in. Thank you for your knowledge and true customer service!
Excellent people work at this place, friendly and professionals, good prices!!! We will definitely come back soon !!!!
This place is cool. Ppl are nice. IN THE HOOD IM LIKE PRINCESS DIANNA!!!
-Ice Spice 687:927
They are wonderful people and always take care of their customer by heart.
It was very awesome service but milanos was cheaper books were 8.00 and care kits were10.00 and at brindleys it was almost 16.00 and for book it was 10
Expensive and poor service. took my beautiful holton Bb trumpet their to have the 2nd valve slide replaced. it is a standard mass produced turmpet, ans WAS worth about $650. it was beautiful with a sparkeling finish. they lost my order and it took 3 weeks when I called them to inquire about it. i was told $40 to fix the slide (found out later that part only cost $15) and it would take a week. they chem washed it, wich i said to not do and it RUINED my trumpet. it looks like crap, their is 3 dents in my bell where their weren’t any before and after i called at the 3 week point it still took another 2 for them to get around to fixing it. in the end, they ruined my finish, put the wroung part on, and dented my trumpet multiple times. O AND they expected me to pay $85 for it all. they chem washed it because they forgot to write down the repair needed and assumed it was a was, and they charged me for their mistake. Good at smooth talking but anyone can seem like they know what their saying. they were horrabile and unless you want to over pay and have your instrument ruined, dont go here. o and my sisted paid $1000 for a flute which was “new”…the saudering from when it was returned to them from the last owner broke in about a week and they repaired it wroung 3 times before they got it right where it broke again 3 days later.
Beware DO NOT RENT from them. They lied about insurance. They RENT beat up instruments then make you pay to fix them. Was told it would be $20 per repair then at register charged $25 per repair. Will never go back. Take my advise and take your business elsewhere
After more then 10 months taking lessons a the place, and incident where the owner Bruce, disrespected my 11 year old for just looking at around the store just show what kind of service this place have. Extremely disappointed with Bruce, going back there no more. I’m sure there are other places with better costumer service.
My guitar teacher was the best, so sad situation here.
8. B&D Guitar Repair
Address: 2202 W Lone Cactus Dr #4, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Black Canyon City , Arizona , United States
If you love your instrument and want it to be setup correctly and professionally look no further. Billy is the man and he’s the real deal.
Just had my 72 Yairi repaired, and couldn’t be happier. Guitar started it’s life strapped to my Dad’s back as he cruised north Africa and Europe on a motorbike. Never saw a humidifier, and has about 15k playing hours on it. Billy walked me through several options, style of play, and longevity sought. For $200, this thing plays amazing again, and will probably outlive me. The play before you pay is the real deal.
I’ve been taking my guitars to Billy O’ Reilly for years now. I trust no other with my precious instruments. Billy performs absolute magic on a guitar. In fact, the first guitar I recall having him work on was my 95 Mexican Tele. At first, Billy tried to talk me out of putting any money into the guitar (because it was always going to be a Mexican Tele) but after he discovered that I liked the guitar and planned on keeping it forever, he turned it into a guitar that plays better than any American Tele I’ve ever touched.
He first removed the finish from the back of the neck and replaced the thin stock frets with jumbos. The neck now feels outstanding and bending is a breeze. He replaced the stock pickups as well – the bridge with a Jerry Donahue and the neck with an Antiquity. He also rewired the guitar with a 4-way switch.
I’ve since taken many other guitars to him and he has performed similar magic on all of them. I highly recommend B&D whether you need a simple set up or want to completely customize your instrument.
Nice posters, but where are all the tools???? Instead of wasting your money on bogus YELP adds, spend it on tools.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR GUITAR HERE! I took my new $2000 fender strat elite model, and Billy the guitar tech there did a horrible set up job. Extremely poor craftsmenship. He told me to change my stock locking tuners to the vintage reissue set from stew Mac, so I listened and he decides to super glue them in place!!!!! There’s even little tiny drops of super glue on my headstock! If I scrape it off it’ll ruin the finish. He seriously has a ton of people fooled into thinking he really knows what he’s doing. I don’t usually post reviews but Man, this guy just put super glue all on my $2000 guitar. It’s a horrible feeling and there’s nothing I can do about it. I took it somewhere else, and I couldn’t be happier with the new guitar tech I have. He made my guitar feel like butter. I just want to warn everyone out there about this guy Billie at B&D. I even called and confronted him, he lied to me and said he never did it. He also put the bridge dead flat to the guitar body, told me never to use my tremolo because it will go out of tune no matter what. This guy is a fool. Glad billy didn’t get his hands on my $4000 dollar PRS! B&D HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Just trying to help out my fellow musicians out here in phx. Thanks
PS. Below you can see his reply to my review, i showed up to his shop 4 times, he says he has no record of me as a customer. prob because he writes everything on paper with non legible handwriting. i played it and immediately it went out of tune when i gently pressed the whammy bar, he said i could not use it. lose the whammy bar. why? BECAUSE ITS SUPER GLUED TOGETHER
My experience was less than stellar. A vintage pickup mysteriously stopped working while in his care. I forgave it. Then, one guitar was given back filthy even though I specifically asked him to clean it as part of the service. Spare parts strewn in the case. And he was late. I was in a hurry when I picked up my stuff and didn’t realize most of this until I got home. I guess it’s just me he does this too. I try to frequent local small businesses, but why bother. You can’t count on anyone nowadays.
9. Chilleen’s on 17
Address: 33150 Coldwater Rd, Black Canyon City, AZ 85324 , Black Canyon City , Arizona , United States
Terrific place to dine. Super friendly. Excellent food.
Great service, great food, and fun western/rustic atmosphere. We’ll be back.
Been there 5+ times in the last year. The brisket, ribs, and pulled pork has always been very good. We stop in whenever we have time when traveling by on I-17 and will continue to do so.
Yummy brisket and fries. Beef ribs and steak.
Brisket was fantastic, ribs were way overdone unfortunately. However, this isn’t the first time we’ve been here so we know it can be better.
Fun atmosphere. Great food. We always stop for ribs on the way home from Phoenix. Delicious. Friendly service too.
Went there today, Good food, our server was awesome, except for the front staff. Went there with my family and we have a 3 yo daughter, we waited to be seated, front staffer grabbed a high chair and ushered us to a booth, when I asked politely if we can use table instead of booth, the young lady staffer (I don’t wanna name you) suddenly slammed the high chair (you can check your CCTV’s) on the floor and started acting really rude, WOW! I don’t know why she got angry, I just requested for a table instead of a booth. Anyways, I did not want to spoil our Saturday night, and we just did fine (thanks to Chelsea). Just saying that, if front staffers don’t like working in a service industry, maybe find another job. Paying customers don’t need to be treated rudely just because I asked to be seated on a table.
Honestly, it’s not that great. My kiddo ordered the HOMEMADE, per their own menu description, Mac and Cheese only to find out from the waitress thatn it’s Kraft shells and cheese. Certainly not homemade if it’s Kraft.
I had the potato salad which was extremely salty, the coleslaw very runny and mayo tasting, and fries which were bland and not fried well.
My significant other had the brisket and said it had a “sour” taste. He was afraid to take more than a couple bites.
All in all, save your money.
I will say that the waitress was extremely nice and friendly.
But skip this restaurant as it’s not worth it. Seems like it needs another Bar Rescue as I cannot imagine the Mac n cheese was recommended to be store bought product and then falsely advertised as homemade.
Dietary restrictions: The waitress helped me select things with my very restrictive allergies.
We came in on 1/18 around noon. My family did not like the food here. The pork was loaded with fat and not cut up well, very chunky/gristly. The hamburger was excessively greasy and bland, flavorless really. The bun was soaked and soggy. The chicken strips were bland. The mashed potatoes tasted sandy. The nachos were plain. The pork sandwich was mediocre. The server seemed too direct, not real friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day? I gave two stars because the food came out quickly, the server was attentive, and I liked the cozy rustic interior of the place. We will not be coming back though.
