Great experience, the owner Eric, was beyond helpful. My first guitar lesson was awesome; Great teacher in my opinion. I would highly recommend this music store to anyone especially first timers. There was no pressure to buy just very helpful service and advice.

Eric the owner knows everything about guitars! He also offers great lessons and lots of unique instruments. We have purchased at least five guitars and my husband takes lessons from him. His prices are also very fair.

The purchase was quick and the prices were amazing. 10/10 would recommend!

Not much of a selection,,a lot of really low end pieced together mutt guitars and amps.
Tried very hard to engage counter man in conversation,,but he just preferred to sit quietly while I looked over tiny inventory…..guess I will keep looking for a music store.

The staff was amazing, and the Chai Tea was on point along with the amazing White Chocolate Cookie. Stumbled into the Café while riding through town on our motorcycles. Great find!!! Looking forward to going back as a planned stop.

THIS COFFEE JOINT GETS NEGATIVE FIVE STARS FOR HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. I unfortunately had a run in with a stout, middle-aged mean woman, who I am assuming to be the head manager (?) of the “Caffeinated” coffeeshop this morning. I am an out-of-town visitor from southern California and am currently on work leave dealing with serious political issues affecting my job. At first, I thought this coffee shop was cool, as it was a great place to enjoy coffee and remotely work on my computer in the morning on some difficult work-related issues. This coffeeshop was just down the street from Colusa’s fabulous state campground, where my friend and I were “ruffin’ it” for a few days to switch up our routine.

This morning was perhaps my seventh and unfortunately last visit to “Caffeinated,” as I was rudely approached by this woman, who I am assuming to be the manager of the property, who felt entitled to suddenly sit down at my work table, WITHOUT A MASK, to interrogate me about all my personal details: what am I working on, where am I from, why am I here, why be here in Colusa and not somewhere else? Like why in the hell is this any of her business? Apparently, one of the staff ladies made a false and offending complaint about me to this manager. The complaint was that “I spent too much time in the bathroom,” which led to conversational assumptions that I was homeless, and that I was bathing and making a big mess in the bathroom, and I was in there for extensive amounts of time. If anyone would like to know the “dirty details” of this morning’s routine: >>> Based on my needing to relieve myself three times, potty squatting a few minutes with each visit, over 3 or 4 hours of my working there, I think I used the bathroom quite normally. Otherwise, I ordered coffee, made friendly chatter with a couple of locals, sat in the corner, worked on the computer, and kept to myself, like any good ordinary coffeeshop customer.

And as soon as this lady found out I will be leaving this town today, she said, “Okay.” and abruptly left the table as suddenly as she came. And then she publicly blurted out to her staff, “Oh, she’ll be leaving today, so let it go.” The way how this lady manager approached me and interrogated me, abruptly and rudely, and in a very entitled and nosy way, AND WITHOUT OBSERVING ANY COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS, she made me feel extremely uncomfortable and even to the point of humiliation on the premises of her own business. Never had I been in a situation where staff went out of their way to make up false bathroom occupation claims, in which the assumptions led to bathing and homelessness. THIS WOMAN REALLY CROSSED THE LINE WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THIS SITUATION WAS BASICALLY CUSTOMER HARASSMENT.

I really try my very best to support local, small-town coffeeshops, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had in such a venue. I returned to the state campground in the early afternoon, and a couple of locals happened to validate my experiences of this now-wretched place. In random conversation with my friend, these Colusa residents stated that the people who run that coffeeshop don’t treat the customers or the employees very well. I am so sad to hear, and now I’m just another victim of it. Usually, I want the small guy to win. I want the David’s of coffeehouses to survive in the Goliath industry of Starbucks. But unfortunately, I discovered why this coffeeshop is so small and self-limiting.

To go out of your way to make offensive and grandiose statements, along with overstepping your bounds to interrogating me to the point of harassment, I will NEVER set foot in this coffee joint ever again. And now Caffeinated can enjoy the menu of KARMA: “You Get Served What You Deserve:” an unfortunate and honest review. (see full review in image)

Nice little coffee shop, very friendly, but when I ordered a Carmel Frappuccino it tasted like it was straight coffee with what tasted like a lot of Carmel creamer.

Love Taylor Maid coffee beans but their barristas ruin the whole cup of Joe because they don’t know there’s a technique to making a good cup of espresso

I bought a guitar from here, a used Gibson SG. They were not only very patient, but very helpful and let me try it out on several different amps to get a feel for how it will sound.

I’m not a fan of Guitar Center as they are hit or miss when it comes to customer service. These guys however are da bomb. They’re the friendliest guitar retail place I’ve ever been to.

I purchase a set of vintage Grover tuners from The Guitar Place Chico thru eBay. Their user name there is boutiqueguitarchico. The tuners were advertised as “EXC+ COND WORK PERFECTLY!” and also said “packed with extreme care” Those were the words the store owner Damien used in the ad.

I received the tuners in an itty bitty bag barely large enough to stuff the vintage tuners in and they were all crushed to pieces and bent. I paid $10 Priority Mail to ship the package to the same state (I’m about 150 miles away).

I contacted The Guitar Place Chico and complained. Damien the owner responded and was nothing but rude and disrespectful. He started out by sarcastically calling me “classy” and told me to send them back if I don’t like it and then complained that he didn’t charge me enough. Never once was he the least bit apologetic.

Jim did a fabulous job repairing my PRS electric guitar. I knocked it off its stand and tragically cracked the headstock. I was a afraid it was totally destroyed, but Jim put it all back together. Now it sounds terrific, and you can’t even see where it was damage was unless you look very carefully. Jim did the repairs for a reasonable price and in a very short time. Definately five stars! Thank you Jim!

I have been extremely pleased with the quality of work from Jim Williford at Stringed Instrument Works. Jim has worked mostly on my acoustic guitars and a banjo over the years for bridge and pickup replacements as well as some occasional buzzing issues I was unable to address myself. Jim is professional, his pricing is fair, and he always does a great job.

Jim is a nice guy however, the work he did to my guitar was minimal and incomplete. I asked to fix the crack on my old guitar and all he did was fill the gap on one crack on the front of my guitar. The back is the same untouched and cracks showing. I am now online ordering epoxy to fix the cracks myself. He charged me $140 dollars which is too much for the little work he did. Be aware, and see if you can fix your guitar yourself before going to him. I feel ripped off.

They fixed my childhood guitar and I was even lucky enough to find a case for it even with it’s size.

Best local business for anything music related. They have a wide array of instruments available and a number of knowledgeable musicians willing to answer questions. On top of that, Music Connection is probably the best place to take lessons from passionate and talented teachers. Whether you’re a professional or aspiring musician, Music Connection is the way to go.

Had Bruce put some open tuners on my accoustic guitar. Man he did a nice job the price was very fair. He also set my guitar up. I’m here to say my guitar sounds awesome…and the action is awesome I’m super happy…I recommend the music connection..and I live 45 miles south of chico..

I took a subwoofer at this place for repair. I got a call back about 3 to 4 weeks later regarding the cost, i asked them to hold the subwoofer until i have a chance to pick it up within 2 weeks without repairs and i was told it was not a problem. 2 weeks later it was pouring rain and since i have a truck bed which is the only place where the subwoofer would fit, so i didn’t not have a way of picking it up. i went today to get it and the person in repairs said that he threw the subwoofer away, because i took so long. He also claimed that he left a voicemail saying he would throw it away if i didn’t pick it up. I had a message to pick it up, but he did not say that otherwise it would be tossed away.
This was an expensive sub and the only thing it needed was a speaker, the amp on it was perfect and the box was in great shape. Anyone with common sense knows that they probably fixed it and sold it, given that everything was in great shape except for the speaker. I feel that they way they do business is dishonest and do not recommend this place to anyone.

Lesson was good

I found Jim to be cold and disinterested, borderline hostile unfortunately. I order the strings he has never heard of online. Jim appears to be a bit of a fence. I would question the provenance of an instrument from this shop. The music shoppe from a Stephen King film.

I use to enjoyed playing at Calusa. I don’t know if it’s due to the changes the Resort has to make because of covid, but it seems the quality has lesson. I use to go at least once a week. I enjoyed their bingo game and I love to play slots and the food was good. Some of my last visit was very disappointing. Food from cafe was terrible and the bingo game payout and buy-in sucks. The bingo workers are still nice and friendly but I won’t be going back no time soon.

Took my guitar in for a tune up. Due to the amount of guitars being worked on it took 3 weeks for the work to get done after calling a few times to get an update. Within a week it had fret buzz again. Mike is very friendly and informative, but I think due to the high volume of work, the tune up was rushed. Maybe another guitar tech is needed to help with the work load.

They have a good inventory of everything except what I needed audio equipment, voice box, etc..

I would give 0 if I could terrible Customer service Will has been nothing but incredibly rude to me and constantly cussing around other customers wouldn’t recommend coming here unless Jacob or Ben is working the only two good workers left honestly.

My daughter is currently taking lessons there and they have misscheduled her 4 times. They have lost too many instructors and can’t handle the schedules or pick up the slack on the lessons. Not enough instructors for the students they have right now. Pretty upsetting, debating to pull her out.

Al and Arc guitar are awesome. I had my Martin acoustic (that is my baby) suffer a crack and he repaired it for dirt cheap and it looks and plays like it’s brand new!

Al Calderone made some repairs to a dreadnaught body acoustic for me. The repairs are perfect and the guitar plays like it is new again. At the time of this review it has been a year and the repairs are still very solid and the workmanship is top notch.
I attended his annual “Guitar Festival” and was nothing but impressed by level of instruction that came from the different workshops. If your a budding luthier, a solo artist, or just a hobbiest, you will definitely take away a ton of good stuff from this event!!!

Al is really great. Very kind and good hearted man. Can not thank him enough for the work he has done on my guitars. A real professional.

Overall good. Sanitizer by bathrooms never works. Faucets are too close to the sink so you have to be careful when washing your hands.

Rude staff no food what else jokers

Worst shop ever needed two tires they broke down tires from rims. Took forever then 45 minutes later I asked how long it would be then they tell me that they had to go get the tires. Why they didn’t tell me sooner so I could have went up to another truck stop who knows and then to find out the shop manager was involved in the whole situation so the lousy service starts from the top. GO NORTH OR SOUTH DONT USE THIS SHOP

I brought a double bass to Ryan, whom came highly recommended by other musicians within Chico. He addressed all of my needs and put extra love into my instrument. I am very happy with level of service. Will use again!
