DJ Oz is a fantastic DJ and wonderful to work with. He addressed all of my concerns in a timely manner. Oz is a great communicator with a passion for what he does, and it shows. I was able to give him song requests before the weddding, and on the wedding day, he made sure our guests had a great time! Would definitely hire him again!
Oz brings joy, laughter, fun and awesome tunes! His amazing personality and musical talents are guaranteed to make everyone smile and most importantly DANCE!! Highly recommend!!!
Best DJ in the Tri County area!
3. Lisenby’s Music Shop
Address: 831 S Memorial Dr, Prattville, AL 36067 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Fast and courteous service from friendly staff. Wide selection of musical instruments and supplies!
Love this store. LANCE is a real lover of music and ot shows. It’s nice to have a place that doesn’t feel soulless and corporate. If you’re in the tri County and looking for instruments, advice, gift ideas. Try here!
My son has loved his drum lessons here. I couldn’t have asked for someone with more patience and encouragement to teach him. What I love the most is that my son can have lessons during the weekday since he’s home schooled. If your child wants to learn an instrument, no matter what time of day you want to schedule lessons, this is a great place for it!
Lance and Tracy are nice folks. They have a good selection of strings and accessories. Neat place for obscure instruments.

Absolutely amazing store, love the atmosphere, the service is always top notch, and the pure quality of the store is absolutely phenomenal, best around
Great little place. My mandolin was in bad need of a setup and Matt did a great job with it. Plays perfectly now and he got the job done promptly.
Matt set up two of my guitars recently and did an excellent job. If you need guitar work, Matt is your guy.
Very cool place.
5. Martin’s Music
Address: 5000 US-280 Suite C, Alexander City, AL 35010 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
I had my daughter’s trumpet cleaned and repaired. Everyone was kind, knowledgeable and courteous to us. The quality of work was great and it only took a couple of days.
They awesome and they help out with beginner band
Friendly atmosphere
Nice; they’ll order in for u
changed to 4 stars because service isn’t as good as it used to be. It is now only ok. Was also very expensive.
Always have a good experience at Arts. They work well with the school programs and if they don’t have what we need they are sure to find it
This place is a joke. I called and asked about a mellophone and was told that they had several from me to choose from. I get there and they had one that was new and one from the 70’s they tried sell me. I will stay with Bailey Brothers.
Took in my guitar to get set up and to get the fret buzz handled. They told me it would take them three days. I took it to them on a Monday and I called them Thursday. They hadn’t even gotten started on it. (They said it was school season but if you tell me three days then stick by what you say) I told them I needed it by Friday morning and they told me they’d have it ready. I go that Friday morning and it was “set up” apparently. They didn’t even do my intonation and I’m pretty sure they didn’t use the string gauge I requested. To make things worse the fret buzz was horrendous. Like my guitar was unplayable, even more than before. Horrible service to say the least. I absolutely do not recommend getting your guitars set up here. Downright disgusting.
Stay away. They are way overpriced.
8. Bailey Brothers Music Company
Address: 4673 US-280 Suite # 7, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Fantastic shop, willing to work with the buyer and accommodating to your needs. More selection then the “big box” and online stores but with old school brick and mortar services.
I have done business with these guys from day one in downtown Montgomery. I now live in Gadsden drive over an hour to their store. Always a good time and worth the drive to find what I need!
Very friendly customer service, and they worked extremely quickly to get my order shipped. Definitely recommend using them!
Usually get good service, but I took my guitar nut to be repaired after my guitar took a spill. I let them know the guitar had fallen and hoped they would fix. The nut was replaced poorly but the guitar had a buzz. Took it back 2 more times. The last visit, the person in charge of the repair (2 weeks later)said I had heavy fingers and raised the stings to a height that made the guitar unplayable. I took to another repair shop and they repaired the nut replaced by Bailey Brothers found a couple of uneven frets repaired the frets adjusted the neck and had to re-setup the guitar from the disaster repair at Bailey Brothers. If in need of repairs I will never return to this store.
Good service. Knowledgeable staff. Wish there was one closer to us!
Great customer service. Great selection. However, I was NOT thrilled to see their logo custom printed onto the snare head I bought. Would have received 5 stars if not for that. Going to remove it with some acetone.
I came in here the other day and they were incredibly overbearing and checked in on me every 30 seconds. From the second I walked in they were all up in my face and insisted on providing an address and phone number whenever I paid which I fully expect to be sold somewhere. I don’t know if they’re struggling to keep the lights on or something but the amount of customer service was way too much and came across as pushy and rude. Literally just let me shop.
This place is as good as, if not better than, Guitar Center. But this one man that works there is not the friendliest and makes me and my music buddy never wanna come again… I was gonna buy at least $20-$60 of stuff, and my buddy was gonna get his guitar worked on, but we decided against it after our experience today.
My friend and I were playing our guitars together at moderate volumes. No louder than the other customers that passed through. Our volume knobs probably were set around 1. This rude clerk guy came up to us and told us “turn it down, there are customers in here”. When there was maybe 1 other guy in the guitar room at most. What are we, trash? Are we not customers?
Though to be fair, there was a little kid who sat behind us who was louder than both of us combined, and he was tremolo picking the most random nonsensical annoying noise (future shredder?), but he should’ve told the kid to turn down—not us. We both turned our amps off because he was rude the last time we were in the store and we were pretty annoyed at this point. But the kid turned his amp down and continued the random picking and the dude immediately came back and said “hey, okay, turn it off, that’s enough for today” and took the guitar from the kid. The rudest music store clerk we’ve ever encountered. There’s another guy who is super nice that works there who let us turn the volume up—at least 2 or 3 times what we did today—and test every amp in the store. We bought a $2,000 setup from the nice guy in the past, but this rude guy would probably kick us out of the store before we could make a purchase. I didn’t catch his name, but he’s average height, blondish, his hair is thinning, and he had a short beard. A nicer worker told us he’s been there 3 years, though I’m not sure how he’s lasted that long. He’ll probably follow you around like you’re a thief and ask if he can help you 8 times like he did to us the last time we came in the store simply to buy a cable.
I left my guitar with this store in February 2012 for a simple repair. In June it was still hanging waiting for them to repair. I had been told on multiple occasions that it would be ready in just a few days. I picked it up today June 24, 2012 and no repair has been done and I was still charged a bench fee. This place sucks. I will never go in there again. Good luck if you do.
9. Homewood Musical Instrument Co
Address: 1712 28th Ave S, Homewood, AL 35209 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Bob, the owner, is amazing. He knows guitars and is an expert player. Some very interesting vintage guitars for sale as well.
I’ve been to the store twice asking about repairs to my violin. Bob was very kind and offered honest advice. Recently I went back and met with his luthier (a year later). He, also, was professional and gave excellent advice. I highly recommend this shop. In the future, all my bow rehairs will be done by them. Great people!
Knowledgeable and friendly. Loved it!
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
Good product, Good service.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.
10. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 4538 US-231, Wetumpka, AL 36092 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Walmart Millbrook never has anything I need in stock anymore
It’s Walmart
The pickup was fasting in a hurry no problems
Had to wait 15 min for cashier at auto
Didn’t have the stock or updates as other local stores did. Two registers were open and the lines to check out were long. 3 ladies working empty customer service. Pathetic.
It sucked. Crowded. Not enough cashiers
11. Ron Partain’s World of Music
Address: 1914 Cogswell Ave, Pell City, AL 35125 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Love our music store. They
always have what we need.
Ron and his wife were both so friendly. From the moment we walked in the door. I had taken my 13 yr. old grandson there to buy some picks and strap for his guitar. We talked a bit and found out he gives lessons. When we got ready to pay Ron asked my grandson when his birthday was. He answered and Ron said Happy Birthday! He gave him all the picks he had selected! Super nice people!
Amazing store . They are so very helpful and kind .
Nice place. Good selection conveniently located.
It’s a standard small music store. There aren’t a lot of new high end instruments here, but they are all very nice folks.
Wonderful music store.Friendly staff. Very helpful in supplying me with what I needed from instrument to private music lessons.
I read reviews for this shop and thought it was an honest place to sell my gear. I walked in with an Epiphone AJ 220, with an Epiphone molded hardshell case I bought seperately, and an Epiphone “Snake Pit” 15w practice amp. ALL in like new condition. She plugged the guitar in and it was only the fourth time it had ever been plugged in. I never put the guitar in the case without wiping it down first. Look everything I listed up for yourself, and you’ll see what I lost. I messed up and let the lady know that I was in dire need of money for my family. The old guy asked where I bought it, and when I told him, he said he’d lost alot of business to “places like that”. No. I looked around the shop, and all he had was used gear that had been repaired and put up for sale. Junk. My guitar was the nicest instrument there! The reason he’s losing business is because he’s trying to sell junk and beating people in need out of what their instruments are worth. The lady acted like she was on Pawn Stars! If I hadn’t had needed the money really bad, I would have told her where she could stick her $200! That’s all they gave me for everything I brought in. Look up the items I listed, and you’ll see I did my part to support this business! The reviews I read must have been friends of theirs, because they definately misled me. Not fair at all.
Walked in today to look around and from the moment I walked in the door, the older gentleman (I guess the owner?) had his eye on me and was watching me like a hawk, made me feel unwelcome to be there. He asked if I was looking for anything in particular and when I told him very politely he didn’t have what I was looking for he arrogantly told me “I opened this store in 1973 and everything you see in the store is priced the same as you’d get it online” like ok bud I wasn’t complaining about the price you just don’t have what I was looking for. When I told him I wasn’t looking to buy today, and was just looking around he made a sarcastic comment about “well if you’re not buying, we can just put this back on the shelf” ??? I continued to walk around and look at some more product and he continued to watch me like a hawk until I got in my car and pulled out of the parking spot. All of my musician friends have recommended I don’t frequent this store, and I can honestly say, after that experience, I will not and will tell anyone that asks not to either. Lousy excuse for customer service.
12. Big Frog Music Co
Address: 577 E Main St # A, Blue Ridge, GA 30513 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Cindy is always a hoot when I visit! Great selection of music and records! She’s got some incense and little knick knacks and t shirts you should check out too!
Cool place to find very awesome music – a walk down memory lane!
Nice little shop ,cool t-shirs
Good little place for vinyls. A little expensive and hard to get too, no easy parking.
Had a decent selection of vinyls to choose from and a very nice worker that helped us choose our music! It was almost all classic rock though so more variety would have been nice.
It was cool to see a vinyl shop, and you could tell the lady at the counter loved what she was doing and would ha e sat and talked about music all day.
The cds and vinyl are way overpriced. Save your money and avoid this store.
Horrible experience! Man behind counter was very unprofessional. I will never go back!
Call before you try and go, the hours are somewhat nebulous
13. Redbox
Address: 5326 US-231, Wetumpka, AL 36092 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Great shop. Stopped by this shop while on tour because my 67 Traynor was giving me fits every night. Sam fixed me right up, excellent service. 10/10 would reccomend to anyone
Manager Tom was able to restring my mandolin the same day. Left two guitars to string tomorrow
Great selection of guitars. Staff is knowledgeable !!!
It kind of feels like grandpa’s basement here, in a good way. Lots of interesting gear to browse through, plenty of it gently used and ready to be rocked again. There are some Strats hanging here that anyone would love to own, plenty of great options for tube amps, replacement speakers and even an eclectic assortment of used pedals that are worth picking through.
Pricing for everything is slightly higher than online for same items, BUT, you get to support a local business and take it home today. It’s the kind of place I’d stop in to a couple times a year if I lived here. Character.
Guitars are really overpriced, but the guy behind the counter was courteous.
Pretty darn rude staff, including the owner, Don. After 40 years in business I guess they’ve earned the right, though.
Pretentious and overpriced….typical music store snobbery
Tried to get my guitars worked on here multiple times. First time was an 8 string, guy said “I don’t like black guitars they scratch too easily” and then rubbed a cloth with steel wool fibers over it and scratched the guitar. GEE I wonder why! Had a pickup swap done on another guitar, put a scratch on it that went through the paint. Not only that, but he took it upon himself to do a full “set up” when I did not ask him to now I have buzz everywhere and it plays worse than it did before, then charged me for it. Oh and the pickups are also out of phase. Sorry, but that’s it. No more chances. Goodbye.
15. Harmonic Strings
Address: 522 Co Rd 550, Fackler, AL 35746 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Attendant was nice enough and they had what we needed.
Small but very friendly music store.
Love my Sigma
Nice folks
Excellent locally owned and operated business!
Over priced. Only good if you need to grab a pack of strings or something small last minute.
this place is burnt!
Awful place with cheap brands and overpriced / broken used instruments.
The people are not friendly, the merchandise is overpriced, some equipment is not even new (and it is damaged) although they don’t disclose that information, and getting around in a wheelchair is next to impossible. The lady at the register didn’t know anything about the equipment. It is definitely worth the drive to go somewhere else.
17. Redbox
Address: 4538 US-231, Wetumpka, AL 36092 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
Great selection. Not a ton of orchestral strings though.
Good music shop. Most everything you need . Just not the same feel since Danny Moon passed away. Still good folks.
Prices are moderately high. Check online first for cheaper pricing.
Ok
They have charged me 3500 dollars for a clairnet. My neighbors grandson plays clairnet at the University of Alabama his last year. When he seen how much I paid for this clairnet. He show me, where it only cost 1200 dollar every where else. They are clearly taking advantage of parents that know nothing about instruments.
Bad staff
I play guitar and went in there for some supplies. Very lacking. Used to be the place to go in Gadsden for guitars and amps. Not anymore. There is nowhere in town now.
19. Redbox
Address: 57 Chapel Rd, Wetumpka, AL 36092 , Blue Ridge , Alabama , United States
They help me pick out a ukulele for my daughter very knowledgeable and friendly
Great place to stop in and find what your heart desires to play music with…..
They didn’t have the parts to fix the guitar I brought in for repair.
Very good customer service
I am editing this review from 1 star to four due to the fact that I had to send my trumpet to the shop for the second time. Although extremely disappointed the first time, I must say I am very satisfied with the work done by Mr. Mike Rabig from the Montgomery store. Mike personally contacted me and after a short conversation, I decided to try a second time. My trumpet was returned to me exactly as I expected and was detailed in our conversation. I basically got back a “like new” instrument. Thank you Mike Rabig and the Dothan store manager Ms. Robin for taking care of my trumpet and ensuring customer satisfaction.
I walked in to look for guitar. When I ask for help the little boy said I can’t help you and walked off. I’m assuming because I didn’t have a mask on. I wasn’t asked to leave the store or that I couldn’t shop inside. The sign simply said “please wear a mask” There was no consideration that I have underlying conditions and cannot wear a mask.
You all should change your sign to “no mask no service“ instead of embarrassing people like you did.
Store manager Frank is absolutely rude, not type of customer service skills whatsoever.
If I could rate lower I would. Deceiving practices. Do not do business with this place.
