Brent Webb – Mentalist – gave us a great performance!
On Friday, February 8, 2019, I attended a performance of the City Ballet of San Diego. It was fantastic! For only $25 I was able to attend a truly beautiful and professional production that far exceeded my expectations. It was a full house, but I lucked out and sat in the third row, a real treat and a surprising highlight of my visit to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Beautiful building connected to new Library very nice.
Borrego Springs was fun today

These are good people running this place. Great deals if you’re willing to look around. I have never heard any of the staff “yell” at children. Also made a few bucks selling things I bought here on ebay.
Every time we come to Borrego, I have to stop by to see what I can find. I always find something I just need and have to have.
Nice folks with amazing item’s!
Contrary to what the website says, they are NOT open on Thursdays.
Only opened Friday 9 to 2. I came on Tuesday, donation day. So unfriendly.
4. Borrego Outfitters
Address: 579 Palm Canyon Dr, Borrego Springs, CA 92004 , Borrego Springs , California , United States
Thank u Page for accepting delivery of a package that I needed to continue my travels.
Nice selection!
Offering a little of this and a little if that, this chic store was able to supply me with everything I had forgotten coming out to Borrego Springs. Their goods were all high quality, which justified the high price point. They had a good selection of tshirts and magnets for souvenirs. Nothing was too expensive or unreasonable. Staff were friendly and eager to help out or answer questions.
Very nice store for outdoor supplies .
The staff are super friendly and while a bit pricey they have such a vast selection that there is something to buy
Expensive
My experience with borrego outfitters is a constant advertising presence on Google popping up on my smartphone. I hate these pop-ups so much I would never ever patronize this merchant. Please, get off of my phone……
shop in at this place
Limited gear and over priced. An REI wannabe.
Fantastic choice of goods with a premium on quality.
5. Regalos de Borrego

Beautiful garden and an impressive collection of desert plants. Check it out!
Out in Borrego no matter where you go or what you do, it doesn’t disappoint. Take time to check out this jewel
Super friendly and great souvenir selection!
A very nice gift shop and catus garden. A great stop in Borrego Springs to find out the history of Anza Borrego State Park and local native Americans.
Nice gift shop
Wish it was open till 9:00 so I could have got a map
First impressions.
– wash your hands upon entering (big supporter but wished they had a bigger sign and I would happily obliged on my own)
– how may I help you? Requested a patch for my spouse. But this is where it gets weird, she picked up the patch and walked the patch to the counter herself. The lady didn’t even bother asking if I was done shopping. I had to interrupt her and ask for magnets.
– Upon paying, she said no credit card use and had to pay cash due to $5 minimum. At that moment, I only envisioned this lady hand carrying all my items if I chose to purchase something else. To my point, there was another nice lady shopping on her own without the store lady micromanaging her purchases. But cash which is a big germ spreader is the smartest move during COVID times.
Poor taste in customer service experience. Will never shop here again.
Host didn’t let me in because she said the law requires me to wear a M A S K. Totally illegal

Great place for visiting, renewing acquaintances and getting some fresh produce while listening to really good music!
So much fun! Local Artisans, fresh produce and lots of other goodies
It’s nice to walk around Christmas Circle and shop for fresh produce, Alaskan salmon, fresh French breads, plants, flowers, and other locals’ artistry. Every Friday morning during our season in the desert.
A nice farmers market held on Fridays with the usual fair. Note that the cost for desert plants and succulents is about half of what you would pay in the city.
Only a couple of produce vendors were local. Their products were awesome. The other stands were not local.
I think because of COVID, there weren’t too many vendors, still a good amount. There was also a variety of vendors and music. Vendors included food, plants, art, and others. It’s located at Christmas Circle
Eli’s produce needs a lesson in customer service. Spent a lot of $ with them over the years but won’t patronize them again. Had a ‘senior moment’ & accidentally left a bag of produce I had purchased at their booth , this was after asking their permission to store a huge cabbage + items I bought from them, especially the cabbage which was as big as a basketball & was difficult to carry around. After I left it came back but they were gone. Kindly asked via phone message & also text if they would credit me but the guy refused saying ‘we don’t make enough $ to credit you that $17 back’. They are pennywise & pound foolish because this shopper will not patronize them again.
8. Los Jilberto’s Taco Shop Borrego Springs
Address: 655 Palm Canyon Dr F, Borrego Springs, CA 92004 , Borrego Springs , California , United States
Walked in with a big order if breakfast burritos. Even with special requests they got it correct and with a smile. We’ll be back!
Very good food.
great place to stop for a burrito. very authentic. only takes cash unfortunately
Al pastor burrito was great!
Excellent breakfast burrito. The coffee is… Well I at least think it had caffeine, so that’s something.
Salty. Flavorless. Drenched in sour cream. Maybe the most disappointing Mexican food I’ve ever had. I can make better at home. One plus? I didn’t get food poisoning.
It was alllll good til an employee got carona virus
The food is good enough but they can’t LISTEN, or the one who bags the orders can’t READ, I have had a recurring problem lately, almost every single time I get food from here my order is wrong. Almost every single time. Anyway, tired of it. Not coming back
9. Carlee’s
Address: 660 Palm Canyon Dr, Borrego Springs, CA 92004 , Borrego Springs , California , United States
The fries with truffle oil, garlic & parmesan is so delicious & oreo milk shake. Nice western decor, lots of seating area indoor or outdoor plus clean bathrooms.
Great food and good service
Great tasting food. Nice stop for a drink. A bit pricey but large area for groups. Lots of motorcycle parking.
Great gluten free bacon cheeseburger on a gluten free bun. Unfortunately, the fries are not gluten free as the chicken fingers are fried in the same fryer.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free burger but not fries.
I wish they indicated they close between 3 and 4. At least in Google maps it said they were open and they are not. Still wouldn’t have mattered but their handicap access is terrible.
Still It was closed , when I was real hungry.
Bad food
11. Pablito’s Mexican Bar & Grill
Address: 590 Palm Canyon Dr, Borrego Springs, CA 92004 , Borrego Springs , California , United States
Came to this place for the first time, loved it. Decor is fun and bright, margaritas are great, service is friendly with a good Mexican feel. Will be back!
Absolutely delicious! Wish they sold chips to go…
Fast enough, kind, and friendly.
We had excellent service…. ordered shrimp tacos not on the menu and more and had the best meal!… Really really friendly environment!
Good Mexican food in Borrego Springs.
Great service, fantastic service.
Kind of a nice setting on the covered patio, food is tasty enough, service is … terrible. Worth checking out but there are better choices in Borrego Springs.
Food wasn’t terrible but was pretty meh. Service was slow to get to us. Maybe understaffed.
Overpriced, bland, everyone’s orders in our party was incorrect. Get your drinks at Carlees and your Mexican food at Los Jilbertos.
12. Christmas Circle Park
Address: Borrego Springs, CA 92004 , Borrego Springs , California , United States
Very nice park in the roundabout with clean restrooms and plenty of picnic tables.
It was so fun and the bathrooms are super clean!!
Always clean restrooms
Chamber of commerce has ruined the farmers market, so greedy.
Soggy grass added to humidity, alarming number of flies in the bathroom (like horror movie status), and because of its circular shape, there is no shaded parking.
It needs a lot of tlc.
13. Carmelita’s Mexican Grill
Address: 575 Palm Canyon Dr, Borrego Springs, CA 92004 , Borrego Springs , California , United States
Excellent food, I’m grateful to have been told about this restaurant. Has lots of parking, mellow environment.
Good food
Good food, salsa was actually spicy
PLEASE, PLEASE read this before you make that move!! I should have paid attention to the reviews that have been written about this establishment. If a “negative-negative” 0 could be used as a score, it would be just that! Here it is, my first time in Borrego Springs and I run into to this “want to be” authentic Mexican restaurant. So sad and disgusting all in the same breath…UGghhh!! My daughter and I felt sick immediately after dinner, but thought that maybe it was nothing. However, when we arrived back at our hotel, which was fairly close to this restaurant, my daughter vomited. As for me, I have stomach pain that feels like something is on it’s way out!!
Terrible service …tasteless food
Terrible service. Walked in at 245. Waited 10 minutes for my server to chat with her friend before she took my order. Order never came. Asked the bartender about it and she brought me my check for the food I hadn’t ever got. Great way to treat a customer, ignore and forget about them.
14. Coyote Steakhouse
Address: 2220 Hoberg Rd, Borrego Springs, CA 92004 , Borrego Springs , California , United States
Lovely setting and good food. Lots of choices including vegetarian.
Great food
Food is not that good! Ambiance is really nice… but food is not good.
Crab cake: very good
Trout: not very good
Apple cobbler: very cheap, tasted microwaved. Cheap ice cream.
While the food is very good, the prices are exorbitant: More expensive than some Michelin-starred restaurants. $100+ for a clam chowder and a filet mignon or 5 scampi.
Food was soso. Prime rib was mostly fat
Only ok. Great for local community that has no options
Burger greasy French fries so salty.
15. Calico’s *We deliver from 4-7pm only!*

If you love pizza like I do then this is your go to pizza place in Borrego Springs first time going here my favorite is black, olive and pepperoni. It was so good and the people that works there are really friendly. It will be my pizza place every time I’m down in borrego and they have more then pizza when you’re in borrego try this amazing place out you won’t waste your time going here tom is my name and I recommend this place if I could give it 10 stars I would
Vegetarian options: You can buy a regular pizza or have a special one made just for you its worth it
Parking: The parking lot has enough spots to park and there wide to open your doors if you have a car park next to you
Kid-friendliness: The owner of the restaurant has a tv set up with kid friendly tv shows he’s a great guy that bends over backwards to show kids and adults he appreciates the business
Wheelchair accessibility: The parking lot is so close to the building you wouldn’t have to go far especially having to push a wheelchair and it has wheelchair accessibility
It’s a quiet spot when it’s slow. The handful of times I’ve been here, it’s busier in the morning. The hours are 7am-7pm. They do have a 2 hour “Siesta” where they are closed (2-4pm). They do have outside seating, also. I’m still trying to figure out service, some days are great, others are okay/good. But, I keep coming when I want something to eat.
Went in this morning and got a latte and a coffee the service was great The Latte was good also got a cherry turnover which was delicious. The only reason why I didn’t give it a 5 is the coffee was warm and not hot. But would definitely come back again.
Coffee was good thank you
Arrived after 12pm on a Friday, it’s closed. Door says 1pm-9pm (not what google says for hours). OK, so we go elsewhere for lunch. We came back at 815pm for the ice cream we had promised our daughter, employee see us, locks the door, turns off the lights. Really? Not 901pm, not 859pm… 815pm. Here’s your star.
I am very dissatisfied with this establishment. I bought two cups of coffee and a quiche so that I could use the internet and was kicked out after about 40 minutes in the shop.
I could understand if it was busy and all the tables were full but there was still seating open and I was not there for an unreasonable amount of time.
