Best used vinyl record shop in the area. Great prices. Tell Mitch, “Big Walter sent ya”!
I highly recommend it!!!
The only decent used record store in the area.
Small shop, difficult to see from the road. It is jam packed with albums and CDs. Decent selection and pricing. Not an overwhelmingly good vibe from the one employee/owner (?), although they seemed to interact with people they know much better. Fair pricing.
Great place. Looking forward to him getting back to work.
Small store, not good record selection
Trash heap
Not what I thought I needed but may some other time
4. Brass & Reed Music/ Repair
Address: Upstairs Last Door Facing East, 255 Fortenberry Rd STE A2, Merritt Island, FL 32952 , Brevard County , Florida , United States
Charlie gets my highest recommendation. He fixed my daughter’s clarinet quickly and at the price he quoted me.
I decided to get back into playing my flute after a 40 year hiatus. The instrument I have was in poor shape, and being a student grade instrument had to weigh the cost of repair versus getting a new instrument of similar value. (It needed complete repadding, head cork, foot joint work and adjustments of the keys.)
Charlie worked on it and brought it back to life. He completed the work earlier than his estimate and at a very reasonable cost. He returned calls promptly and met me at his shop within 15 minutes if he happened to be out.
I highly recommend Charlie at Brass & Reed for your instrument work.
I brought Charlie today a flugelhorn I am considering selling to see whether it needed any repairs. The horn belonged to one of my children. Charlie thoroughly looked over the instrument and advised me that it was in excellent condition. He was extremely knowledgeable and very honest. I strongly recommend this business.
Well knowledgeable and helpful
5. Wickham Road Music
Address: 4900 N Wickham Rd suite 106, Melbourne, FL 32940 , Brevard County , Florida , United States
This is a veteran owned business. They have a large selection of instruments and friendly and knowledgeable staff.
This is a fantastic local shop with friendly and knowledgeable folks who’ll give you the time you need to make the right choice about buying gear, taking lessons for nearly any instrument, and repairing/upgrading your current gear.
Nice store with friendly staff and big selection of guitars and amps.
All of your accessories are there to make you a rock star on stage.
They match online pricing “pretty much” so no need to make jeff Besos any richer and you get it today. And you can try before you buy…especially important on an amp or 3k guitar. I saw good prices on their amps, strings and the selection is large and great. Come in and get your marshalls, les Pauls, Fenders, Taylors. Easy in and out from Wickham rd by Home Depot. They have luthier service off site and amp repairs off site.
I also saw guitar lessons happening in a room by the front.
Nice place. A lil on the pricey side. They have good, knowledgable sales people. My complaint deals with their service. Maybe it was just my luck, but I brought in an item to get serviced and was told I would get a call when it was done cuz it had to be sent out. I did not get a call. Later..2 days after I was told it would be done.. I went to pick it up. It was finished, but due to me being in a hurry, i didnt fully check out the item before I left the store. I got home and found some problems with what was supposed to be fixed. I was able to fix most of the issues myself.. I’d consider going elsewhere if you need something like a guitar setup done..
Has some good stuff, but not a great selection. Very cheap or very expensive not much middle
Four stars because the owner rectified this issue and as far as i know, subsequent customers did not have this problem anymore. Props to you for actually caring!
One star because piano instructor Suzanne is knowledgeable and good instructor overall, so she gets the star. Issue is the owner seems to have an issue in his vocabulary or he is very dishonest. He recently started forcing students to pay a “deposit” equivalent to 2 classes. His excuse, “if you dont show up to class, we use the deposit to pay for the instructor’s time;” however, the classes are PRE-PAID which means, that the class is already paid for. When i argued this with him, he said, “well, we actually use that deposit for two extra classes when you choose to quit.” Well, i already chose to quit, so first of all, why would i want two more classes? an entire month is always PRE-PAID too, so no need for “deposit” since classes have been PAID IN ADVANCE. When i signed up, i told them, i was using 4 classes my mother gifted me. They made her leave a 2 class deposit; even though, again, she had PRE-PAID for the four classes. I told them i was only there for the 4 classes. So when i went to my last class, the owner said, “I dont give back deposits, worse case i could give you store credit.” Hmmm… DEPOSIT??? a deposit is something that is given back subject to terms. In apartment, if nothing is broken at end of lease, deposit is given back, in a car rental if the car is not damaged, etc. He is forcing people to prepay every month, AND prepay two classes that they have to take when they no longer want to take classes. Completely dishonest, misleading and rude.
People were nice enough, but what kind of Music Store can’t replace tubes on an amp? Seems more geared toward lessons and selling stuff than repairs or service. Also not open till 12, which probably makes sense.
Went in for banjo strings. I know banjo is not a super popular instrument but they had only had one set off some off brand strings. They can do better than that with inventory.
This place is sketchy, the guy running is about as trusty worthy as a stereotypical used car salesman.
I had a gig in the area and forgot a critical piece of equipment I needed for the performance. East Coast Music Exchange came to the rescue and stayed open a few extra minutes after closing time so I could purchase what I needed. Thank you so much for going above and beyond!!
Great selection and great prices!
Had what I needed
we just walked through to look. Pawn shop. but they had a lot of instruments and equipment. the shop seemed well organized.
For a pawn shop they have a good inventory and selection of items
Not what we expected at all. This is a pawn shop, not a music store.
never found this place
8. Lauts Family Music Center
Address: 2275 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953 , Brevard County , Florida , United States
Very nice lady working there I bled on her floor and she was just worried about my messed up foot and not her carpet. Luckily my wife cleaned it up with some peroxide so it is safe to go there. Cute little mom and pop shop
I love the locals… Here is a family business and a luthier… a builder of guitars… custom made… with other instruments for sale… bx
My son took lessons with Lauts. He loved playing the guitar. He has always received praises from every teacher in school that he’s ever had that he is kind, respectful and a rule follower, and he took lessons where we used to live with an instructor that loved working with him. However, when we moved to Merritt Island, he started taking lessons here with one of their instructors. One night, when we came to bring him in for a lesson, his instructor told us that he refused to teach him any more and gave us our check back. When we asked why, he just told us that he was difficult. We asked what he had done so that we could parent him or teach him what to do differently, but the instructor couldn’t tell us any one thing. No notice. Never indicating a problem ever before. He left the lessons in tears and didn’t touch a guitar again for 2 years. We’ve finally gotten him interested in a guitar again but it has been a struggle and we still have no idea what he supposedly did to have his lessons cut off and be humiliated.
Take lessons here at your own risk.

10. Jacobs Custom Guitars
Address: 2275 N Courtenay Pkwy #6th, Merritt Island, FL 32953 , Brevard County , Florida , United States
I had a very odd and uncommon break within the neck of an old G series Takamine. I bought it new in 2000, so there was some sentimental value. The neck broke against and with the grain of the wood in both the neck and the headstock. However, nothing “broke off”. Jacob said it would be a tough fix, but unless you know where to look, you really can’t tell it was damaged, and plays as good as she ever did. He also replaced and hand shaped the bone nut and saddle. Great work and great, honest service.
Great store! Nice people. Excellent service
Brought in my 1963 Gibson B25 12 string for a crack repair, restringing and setup, and got it back in like-new condition. I’m absolutely delighted with the quality of workmanship as well as their very reasonable pricing. Thanks, Jacobs!
Good store and to set up your guitar but not more than that
Had a Peavy electric guitar repair and setup completed last year. I never played it and put it back on my wall and discovered nearly a year later and found that the repair did not hold up over time. I brought it back in today and told Dave the story and that I was probably in their system as I didn’t have the receipt. His words were… “Well it didn’t hold up.”
I remained friendly and asked him if he could take a look at it and if had just glued it (bridge support) the first time, perhaps he could open it up and take a look and perhaps had some wood screws or other bracing to strengthen the repair to take the tension and stand the test of time.
His reply without hesitation or offering to take a look and let me know if he could do anything g stronger was “Well I fixed it once and it didn’t hold up so I don’t know if it will hold up again and I’m not going to fix it for free.” I told him I wasn’t looking for a free repair but perhaps just take a look.
He wasn’t friendly – he wasn’t nice – he didn’t offer to take a look and suggest another repair method which I had suggested. He simply said again… Well I’ll take a look but I’m not going to fix it for free. I don’t even remember this guitar. I’m not going to fix it for free.” I said I didn’t expect that. He just looked at me so I bid him good day and I’m sitting outside his shop right now writing a 2-star review.
The only reason I’m giving him 2 stars instead of 1 is because his wife was so nice when I talked to her about a month ago.
I won’t be doing any further business with him and I caution anybody to ask for a 1 year guarantee on any of his work and check it carefully before you leave. In fact, I would suggest asking him what his repair method will be in detail. I suspect he simply threw some epoxy in there which is what I had done years ago and it didn’t hold. I’ll know for sure when I open it up when I get home.
Do not trust this place to work on any valuable or vintage instruments!!!…would give 0 stars if able…Several years ago I had them do a basic setup on a Larrivee lv3 acoustic guitar that had light fret buzz on two notes so it didn’t need much to get it right…work was acceptable but final bill was higher than quoted price…..appx a couple of years ago I brought them a vintage 1978 musicman stingray bass to adjust the neck and basic setup…when I picked it up I mentioned that the action was still too high as if the neck had barely been moved and he said that he would lower it next time I came back if I wanted him to…when I brought it back while dropping off another guitar to work on he acted like it was a huge deal to work on it again and had a bad attitude about doing it…he finally did lower the action to a decently acceptable level…final work was acceptable but not great and bill ended up being quite a bit higher than originally quoted price…The last guitar I brought to them was an unmolested vintage 1966 Martin 00-21 acoustic guitar that needed the bridge reglued…I only asked for the bridge to be fixed and nothing else and was quoted $120 for that and possibly a little more if they needed to make a new saddle…when I went into the store to pick it up not only was the final bill $400 but I was horrified to see that it had been heavily buffed with white compound residue still stuck in all the crevices and stinking like tanning lotion not like fragrant wood anymore…also they had filled multiple dings/pick wear/small cracks with epoxy making them darker and much more obvious…the guitar was previously unmolested for it’s entire life and filling dings etc and buffing it severely decreased it’s value and collectibility…to make it worse I was charged $100 for the buffing which I did not ask for and did not want done…nobody in their right mind would buff a highly valuable vintage instrument ruining the beautiful golden glow patina that it had aquired over decades of being untouched and drastically reducing it’s value and collectibility…I told the guy at the register that I was originally quoted $120 plus a possible new saddle and never asked for it to be buffed which he seemed shocked about at first but then told me they installed new bone pins and charged for a setup too…then he asked if I was able to pay the bill…I told him that the point is I didn’t ask for extra work to be done and especially didn’t ask for buffing thinking he would at least adjust the bill which he did not do…I was about to lose my temper so I paid the bill and left…after getting back home and inspecting it further I could see the bridge was already beginning to lift again and could see the glue pulling away along the back edge…within a week the bridge had already lifted so high that it was unplayable and had to take all tension off the strings to avoid the bridge pulling off completely…I also noticed that there was a mark where glue had been allowed to run while regluing the bridge and realized at that point why they had gone on to epoxy dings and heavily buff it…they let glue run and dry and decided to sand it off then buff the entire guitar to cover up for their mistake and then charged me for it…easily cutting the guitars collector value in half and ruining future collectibility increase…that’s currently an appx $2,000.00 reduction in value by my estimate and more considering it’s now limited for future increase in collector value…the only thing I asked for was for the bridge to be fixed and that repair failed within a week…I was so upset from the entire event that I put the guitar back in it’s case and haven’t even looked at it since so I could put it out of my mind…they could have admitted to their mistake and agreed to compensate me fairly for it but they chose to attempt to cover it up by buffing and further ruining my vintage instrument then charging me several hundred dollars more than the quoted price…they don’t deserve your patronage…your valuable instruments deserve better…beware!!!
I wish I could give 0 stars. I brought a partscaster in for a setup. The guitar had a Floyd Rose trem. He said he didn’t want to take on a Floyd Rose. Fair enough. Then as I was leaving, he said “If you want to build guitars then learn to build them.” What an arrogant comment.
11. Cocoa Village Record Shop
Address: 625 Florida Ave, Rockledge, FL 32955 , Brevard County , Florida , United States
Great prices with a huge selection of pre-90s music. They also had posters! Some albums may look beat up but they play fine. I got a little lost entering through the antique shop so enter through the door on the right!
Great store
Tons of albums.
This place was closed on a Thursday and I was ready to buy some new vinyl. Maybe next time Im in the area?
UPDATE – October 2022
A few things have changed since January 2021. There are more records here and the price has pretty much doubled, although the condition is generally worse. Most jackets have a lot of rubbing wear, handling and splits. There is nothing in here I would be happy to buy at the price on the cover in the condition it’s in, not one thing.
ORIGINAL – January 2021
Although it may have been in the past, at the time of visiting, this a not a proper record store as such, just a sizeable uncurated rack of albums in an area inside an antique mall. I couldn’t find it and had to ask at the desk, where the very helpful couple pointed me in the right direction.
Mainly classic rock and pop, and there were enough interesting (though not for me) items in there to suggest that the stock is refreshed, rather than being the left-overs from a closed store.
I am actually kicking myself for not buying the Jamaican press of an El Coco album for $4, so worth a visit, it won’t take to long, and ask where the records are.
I’m not sure that this store even exists. I tried the Titusville address and both Cocoa addresses and did not find a store. The Hughlett address was a head shop and I walked throughout the Cocoa blvd address and while I saw a lot of neat antiques, not a single record. I tried calling but no one answered. Very confusing.
12. Music & Arts
Address: 1408 Highland Ave, Melbourne, FL 32935 , Brevard County , Florida , United States
The instruments were cool to look at and the staff was very knowledgeable. My son who’s in band enjoyed it thoroughly.
Very helpful and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond to help their customers. You can tell they truly care about and enjoy what they do. A positive contributor to our community.
Very helpful staff. My kids are playing the saxophone and clarinet and the prices are very reasonable.
Good services, good products at a decent price. The staff is not always friendly but are willing to work with you. They seem to have a lockdown on the brand and woodwind market in town. I would entertain other establishments with similliar services in exchange for a smile and friendly service but I just can’t find one.
If it’s horns that you’re into, this is the place.
I had a freak accident with my trumpet and had to take it to the shop. A classmate of mine was kind enough to take it down to the horn section for repairs. It took a little bit over 4 weeks because I did not purchase the horn there. The staff was nice when I came and picked up my horn. They did an amazing job doing a basic repair on my horn. There is still some cosmetic damage, but overall, the horn plays well again. I recommend the Horn Section for their professionalism and high quality work. Thanks Horn Section!
First of all, they need to extend their store hours for 2 weeks during August when students are renting instruments. I went on a Saturday and the line was over an hour-long. Secondly, a week later, I tried to return a still sealed, unopened package of reeds to the store and was told they were non-returnable, even though their website specifically says, “The following items are returnable only if defective or unopened or unused: strings, reeds, tubes…” I’m going to ask my child’s band director to consider recommending a different local business for music needs next year.
This is my go to music store, but I called and asked some questions about their instrument protection plan and received very rude customer service. Respectfully, I’m paying a significant amount of money to rent an instrument from them and it would be nice if they were a little more polite.
Ordered an instrument, charged for instrument, after 2 weeks and multiple calls and sitting on hold for 45 mins was informed they have no idea when I would receive my instrument. And my refund will take 3-4 weeks.
13. Guitar Haven
Address: 1873 S Patrick Dr, Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937 , Brevard County , Florida , United States
Good selection of gear that always changes. Very good lessons. Very good repairs. Recently I traded in a fine 2012 Gibson SG for a 2002 Gibson Studio in gloss black. I am very happy with the whole exchange. And with an ailing Cort accoustic gathering dust I decided to let Howie bring it back to life. He installed a Fishman pre-amp which immediately brought me into the 21st Century. It is now a favorite player equal to my Martin imo, I am not joking. This instrument did not get a single hit on CL a couple of years ago! Customer service is attentive. No pressure sales.
This guy is freaking awesome, he’s the only one that I trust to work on my gear
Howie did a fantastic job at rewiring and soldering my guitar. He even went the extra mile and cleaned out the pots to reduce feedback. Thanks man!
Howe spent tons of time with us to ensure my son found the perfect guitar and amp. He put together a bundle of guitar, amp, and a Vamp…if you are looking to get an instrument, go to this place! Years of experience to help you is priceless.
t
Good time talkin’ shop with the owner(s)!
Tiny little place, not much to see unless you’re looking for overpriced foreign knockoffs
did an ok job setting up my strat. Not a fabulous job but not a bad job.
I am not that pleased with their general attitude they always try to pass off the cheaper products to me. I would rather go to a music store that tries to educate me rather than one that tries to benefit from any stupidity I may have.
i called and asked about a guitar hook and the guy on the phone didnt even know what it was i had to explain to him what it was and i asked about a tuner for a special guitar and he said that it was the same tuning just an octave apart and that octave in the type of guitar has to be precise im not going to call or go there for my guitar needs.

Great place to purchase guitars and Gene is amazing with all his clients
Great place to purchase a guitar! They showed me what is best for me.
These guys really helped me out of a bind and where amazing to deal with. Their expertise help me out of a tight spot and their customer service is great! Absolutely the place you need to be if you need anything music related!
Knowledgeable
Live music? Wow
Came looking for a case for an odd-sized guitar, found a live sit-in jam session, how delightful.
Owners were friendly and knowledgeable. My case was out of stock, he was happy to order more in. All in all, a great little shop.
Gene and…Kevin? are cool guys. I get a bit of a push-to-sell vibe from Gene, but that’s no surprise. Got to make money to eat and grow the business. Wish they had a proper luthier in-store and maybe a sound test room, but lot of good selection for merchandise.
Owner is an idiot! Picked a fight with me in less than 5 seconds. Had to restrain myself from knocking out the little weasel. Do not support!
I came into this store looking for an openback claw hammer banjo. This man tried to sell me everything but. He tried to sell me his bluegrass banjos and then a 4 string banjo!! He told me i could clawhammer on a 4 string just fine! Evidently he doesn’t know much about banjos.
Edit: I waited politely outside the door to enter this establishment after eating breakfast a few doors down. The owner told me if I wanted to go play with guitars I should go to guitar center in Orlando. So I went and chose between 6 guitars and landed on purchasing a beautiful Martin and Co., even came with electric pickups! Paid 600 out the door and it even came with a nice bag. Lesson being, if people want to come play your instruments. Doesn’t always mean they won’t be purchasing one! Thanks to the owner for the recommendation to the BETTER guitar store around.
15. Justin Walker – Voice, Guitar, and Piano Lessons
Nice store with lots of inventory from new guitars Used Guitars used electronics pianos organs and lots of equipment to get your Rockstar on. Very knowledgeable staff and very eager to let you try anything they have in the store to see if it fits your likes or dislikes. Only one thing I saw was one used guitar was way overpriced but I think as nice as those guys are they will haggle with you so that everybody gets a good deal.
The fellow opened early for us! Bought some strings and a harmonica for a great price. Get your music stuff here.
Great place and Friendly service every time I visit there.
Because I went in to have my guitar restrained and I had to deal with some greasy headed want to be rock and roll star
I have never been there but the fact that he can put a smile on someone’s face. Hey, it is four stars from me.
This place is a rip off….cost me 60 dollars to have my 12 string worked on and when I got it home the electronics still didn’t work and when I complained about it all I got was a runaround. They wanted 150 dollars to replace the pre amp in the guitar and I told then no way. I went on ebay and bought the pre amp for $8.83 and it took me about an hour to fix it. Also the brand new strings they charged me for were all corroded. Beware of this place I will never ever do business with them again. Twice they have ripped me off.
Super nice guys but when I tried to trade my mint esp 1000 deluxe with case and a marshall amp with a footswitch for a $512 takamine acoustic guitar they also told me they wanted 400 bucks. I get they are a business but didn’t know they were trying to straight up butcher me on the trade. On the phone the dude named Mike told Bruce that my ESP is selling for 700. Kinda wrong imo. Nice people though
Went in for an acoustic replacement part and the guy gave me a part for another guitar that was close but not right. Being an instrument shop, the guy should know what works and what doesn’t…or at least what to look for, for compatibility. It’s no big deal that I wasted the time and money…it’s the lack of knowledge from their part. I’m going to measure everything myself and order online, cheaper.
Also, come on, guys, every time I’ve gone in there (over 9 years) it’s always the same…dirty and dusty with a bunch of used unorganized crap everywhere. There are always people just sitting around and talking. I’m all for a cool hang out, but how about getting up off your butts and working your store a little. You have so much room and stuff, clear it out, clean it, and put it back in a better/improved way.
Lastly, your used acoustic guitars are miserable. I understand they’re used…but your prices are high and every guitar I looked at had major issue (cracks in the sound board or missing electronics with gaping holes).
Local shops are being killed by Amazon and the online retailers…you’re not helping to motivate us local musicains to support local shops. You could be the best in Brevard…but you need to do something and better yourselves.
18. Space Coast Records
Address: 12 Stone St Suite 2, Cocoa, FL 32922 , Brevard County , Florida , United States
Great selection and owner! Will be my first stop when looking for vinyl, ton of classic/essential albums in stock at a fair price!
The guy here was very nice, and helpful. He has thousands of CD’s, and records. Too many for him to put in his store, but he keeps most of them put up. So just let him know what you want, or what you’re looking for, and he’ll do his best to see if he has it. If he doesn’t have it, just let him know, and he can keep his eye open for you. This owner was very knowledgeable about music, and all the history of records, and CD’s. Go by his little shop, and give him an opportunity to help you find what you’re looking for. Trust me, he is very nice, and will do his best to help you. We are from Austin, TX, and we were just passing through, and I’m glad we did. We will be back! 🙂
Great store! Lots of rare records at great prices!

I love my new piano and I am so grateful to Brian and the folks at Atlantic Music for helping me find the perfect piano for me. I highly recommend anyone shopping for a piano to visit Atlantic Music. They are awesome!
Lots of pianos.
Fanominal service and prices. No pressure sales professionals that care about there clients. We couldn’t be happier with our purchase.
So I have not bought a piano from this dealer, but I HAVE noticed that in looking at their reviews, every site I look at, share the same reviews, same exact text. It makes the reviews look like they are planted from the business. Where do I go to get a real review of this business?
Took Brian a week to get back to me with 1 sentence that said they were too busy to repair my piano. Happy to look for service elsewhere!
I end up buying my piano somewhere else because I just couldn’t get straight answers and responses from them.
Today he was also the second time they said they would call me back and didn’t. They’re close enough that I can walk to their store but they don’t seem to respect me so I don’t feel like shopping there.
