We couldn’t be happier with the incredible job Logan did at our wedding! From start to finish, he truly made our special day unforgettable. He went above and beyond to help me pick music for the ceremony and reception entrance. He arrived well-prepared and organized, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. We also got the best of both worlds with him as he played live music during the ceremony and cocktail hour then switched to DJing for the reception. Everyone kept coming up to us during cocktail hour to say how great he was. If you’re looking for someone to make your wedding day memorable through music, I wholeheartedly recommend him. Thank you Logan for being part of our special day!
Working with Logan could not have been any easier. He was incredibly responsive, professional, and well organized. So many of the party attendees mentioned him as a highlight. He has a great voice and his music really lifted the entire party. I would recommend him without issue and easily use him again and again for my own parties/events.
Logan was great for our rehearsal dinner w/ great communication throughout the planning process!

Very pleasant, kind people! Good selection of all guitars and accessories!
This is a real guitar and instrument shop! Loveed the atmosphere and the quality of instruments sold. Great customer service
amazing guitars!
Went to eat at Flacos Tacos.
Good people here. May be a bit expensive.
Got a fret dress done thinking the buzz was coming from the frets but it was actually coming from the tail piece so wont be able use the guitar in any pro recording environment until I can get a new stoptail installed. after 2 repairs from them I wish someone would have noticed the tail piece was bent causing a high pitch sitar like sound because of how the strings were sitting on the bent tail piece.
Terrible service and terrible work.
Would never recommend to anyone.
Stay away!
Had a Gibson SG refinished here and it was terrible. Very patchy and uneven coverage. Worst of all was the headstock. I am a little perplexed though, they have many great reviews and other great pictures. The folks there were nice, decent selection of guitars for sale, no other complaints. I’m not sure why my guitar came out so bad.

Small but very wholesome store

AMAZING INSTRUMENTS WITH AMAZING PRICES AND THE MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE!!
I love taking my kids here for music lessons. Great instructors and nice staff.
Nova music is the place to go for all of your music needs. These guys are hands down the best. They have a wide array of instruments and have TONS of success with vintage guitar sales and consignment and offer affordable music lessons for all ages.
The music lessons are taught by some of the best instructors in the area.
5 out of 5 stars
Awesome Experience for children and adult music lessons.
Great service and a friendly staff. I had them restring and set up an Ibanez GIO I bought from a private owner. They were more than happy to accommodate me and did a great job for a reasonable price. Happy Jammer!
Very helpful and reasonable prices on most things
Friendly service! Reasonably priced!
Just went into nova music looking for a specific guitar and they didn’t have it. But they had the American model, and I wanted the Indonesian model very few differences sound quality and color are very similar. Since they do not have the Indonesian model, I asked if I could try the American model which is priced at $3000. The clerk then asked if I had the intention of purchasing the guitar. Told him that I really wanted to try the Indonesian model but they didn’t have it so I tried another prs instead. Definitely not going to give me an experience anywhere near either of the other 2 guitars I’m actually looking at. I dont give the appearence of a dasher but you never know. I could probably out run the 3 children(mine) i came in with and got away with it. I then showed the clerk iwas sitting on nearly 10k in my account and walked out. Never know what kind of a sale you’re gonna miss.
No real incentive to shop here. Prices are high. They will match online prices at best. Staff has zero knowledge of inventory specs. “I don’t know you will have to ask Nova when she is working” is the only answer you will get if you ask them anything other than do you have a layaway plan. Save your time and spend your money at a knowledgeable place such as Portman’s, Deloach’s, or Idlewild guitars!

Small shop but very helpful owner. I take lessons there and Keith is a great teacher!
I go every Friday in the owner is so nice if you are nervous he will help you out completely
Very friendly, they tuned my husband’s 3 guitars excellent we have never had a problem with them.
We recommend Backline to everyone, because they give lessons and have all types of musical instruments..
God Bless Them
Great music store .
Great
Best kept secret in Hinesville of the music scene. Wonderful shop
small store I didn’t see much new equipment and because it is the only store for miles, the prices were pretty high for a set of guitar strings
It’s friday they say they open at 11am it’s 12 and they’re still not open
My grandpa past away and left his guitar to me . I’m an orchestra gal so I’m not new to strings but guitar was out of my comfort zone . Jeff went above and beyond for me today and I will only bring my grandpa guitar back to this store just for Jeff . He noticed my guitar was dated but did what he could to bring it back to the best playing condition possible! He could have simply told me what strings to buy and restrung it and sent me on my way but no ! He checked for extra problems , cleaned my guitar up for me , even taught me what each part of my instrument was for , down to medium and thin picks ! I can’t wait to learn more about guitars I’m actually going to sign up for lessons . So Jeff when I feel like I’m worthy I’m coming back for a brand new amp and a new guitar ! Thank you soo much . My grandpa would be so proud that I found someone to keep his guitar in good shape !
Great selection, great service, great deals. Very knowledgeable staff. I will definitely be going back
🙂
THE BEST IN TOWN!!! I’ve been going to Portman’s since ’96! They are very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to talk to you about what you need or are looking for. If they dont have it they’ll special order it for ya!! Support your LOCAL Music Store !!
The store is okay. Not large, pretty small selection. Customer service, as opposed to some of the reviews, was actually pretty good. I was in there for about 2 or 3 hours and was helped every step of the way. They do, however, start off talking to you like you’ve never picked up an instrument. Must be part of their training. Other than that, pretty good music store.
This was my first Piano Lesson since March 2020. It was very good.
It’s the vibe of any typical music store, however they were very well-stocked very helpful to my needs – if not overbearing at some times. They had a wide range of products (but not really). If you like music, this is a store.
Do not – I repeat – do NOT rent or buy your child’s band instrument from this store. It took over 20 minutes before anyone even noticed we were in the store. We saw sales people, but they were too busy standing, talking to one another, and sitting alone in front of computers to bother with us. We were heading for the door when someone finally asked if we needed anything. He got the band salesman from the back and that person talked to us as if we were idiots. We had very specific ideas about what was wanted – having been advised by the band director, but the salesman tried to steer us away from the name brand and toward their own store brand. (which the band director told us to NOT buy, as the quality was very poor.) We had to insist to be shown the name brand.
We didn’t find exactly what we were looking for at the price we wanted so before we had them order a saxophone for us we told them we would go to the other music store in town just to compare. The salesman told us that the other store had gone out of business. I had just been on their website, so I called them right there in the store.
They were in business so we went over just to see what kind of deal we could get. My husband mentioned that Portmans had said this store had gone under and they just rolled their eyes and laughed a little. Apparently, Portmans’ people know their competition is still doing business and tell everyone otherwise.
We call that “dirty pool” and we don’t like it. The other store rented us a great sax at a monthly rental that’s just over HALF what Portmans wanted, and our son gets to keep it when the year is up. That’s not the case at Portmans.
The other store is Georgia Music and it’s on Abercorn toward downtown. They didn’t bad mouth Portmans, they were professional.
No one will ever see us at Portmans again.
Way overpriced and the staff knows nothing about music they are just sellers
My husband and I stopped in to buy a christmas present for our son…we thought a guitar would be something he’d really enjoy. The minute we walked into the store we were almost accosted by the salespeople. I’ve never seen anything like this! They were rude and incredibly pushy. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. That was pretty much the worst shopping experience one can imagine. Can’t imagine how this store managed to stay in business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Great place to pick up extra strings or lite music equipment.
Great music school and wonderful people. My kids have been taking piano for years and we love it there. Great selection of instruments at very reasonable prices. Don’t miss it!
Great music store with nice instruments. David is extremely nice and I’ve worked with him a lot in the past few years. Highly recommend coming in here!
-Luke
Terrible. Only open from 4 to 7 and closed on the weekends. What a joke. They have a great selection of instruments if u can ever get in the store to look them over. I take it this place must be for middle and high School kids to practice.

Came in from out of town and had a great experience – staff was super accommodating knowledgeable and helpful, and we got some great gear. We stopped at a few music stores until finding this gem of a place and would definitely buy from here again!
About a week ago I called and spoke with Max about a mic for live singing. I went in the store that afternoon to purchase the mic and was greeted by Logan and Adina. I was able to get what I needed plus more. The staff was friendly and helpful!
This place is the real deal. Really helpful staff who know what they’re talking about. They have everything from guitars and effects pedals to saxophones and reeds. Excellent shop for you student looking to get into school band.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff and respectable pricing. I’m not a musician, but my wife left impressed.
Very kind staff and plenty of items for sale
The teen girl working was poorly dressed and rude. Having shopped at other locations before, I expected kind, well dressed employees with expert knowledge. That is not that case at this store– at least not with that employee!! This location lost the only good employee they had (the manager Brandon).
I’m truly upset with this store. I received 2 notices in the mail due to my credit card being declined. The reason why my card was declined was because of frauds activities. I went to pay on my daughter’s instrument and they told me that they do not accept payments in the store nor updated the information in their records. This is ludicrous. They need to change their policy. I called twice this week to reach customer service and they has me on hold for a whole hour. Something has to give.
Jon and his two sons moved my mother’s piano into our home this afternoon. I could not ask for a better move of her precious piano. My mother is so appreciative. When they left, Mom asked me how I found these wonderful people to care for our pianos!!! We can now play duets as Jon and his sons moved my baby grand into our home as well. Thank you 88 Keys for your expertise and caring nature with our treasured instruments ❤️
Short story:
We moved from the wrong coast to the lowcountry. Our moving company dropped our piano (baby grand) and lost all of the hardware needed to reassemble our piano. Our piano was in danger of tipping over and I needed help.
The gentlemen from this company were amazing. They helped us the same day by coming and fixing our piano despite obstacles set by our (terrible) moving company.
Their prices were very reasonable. They now have a customer for life.
Thank you.
Jon found a beautiful grand piano for our family in the price range and color we requested. He and his sons did a wonderful job moving it to our house (about an hour away from its former home), tuning it, and lubricating the action. We highly recommend 88 Keys Piano for their quick responses via text, quality workmanship, and courteous service!
