I have two children who have taken piano lessons from Rick Smith. The quality of the lessons, care for my children’s needs, and professionalism of not only our teacher but also the company make this school stand out! Rick incorporates what they need to learn with what they WANT to play which makes practicing fun for them!
New School of Music is both a music store and a music school offering lessons on all instruments and voice at multiple locations – it is well-run, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, Instrument repair, and excellent faculty.
We love new school of music! Both my boys are enrolled in guitar lessons with John Pagano. They have progressed nicely and they look forward to every lesson!
The staff is friendly and always willing to help out!!
My son takes guitar lessons with professor Fausto, he is excellent with kids and very patient. Fausto is also bilingual and we love that our son gets to practice Spanish at the same time.
Pay close attention to their 24/hr notice cancellation policy. They have a lot of students and when people cancel at the last minute it causes their system to break down. Carmen, the director for the classes and I had a miscommunication but it was cleared up. The instructor for my son is good. She takes her time with him and she’s patient.
Nice, knowledgeable and patient staff. Went to rent a violin. It is in good condition. They have plenty of musical resources which can be bought.
I purchased lessons here for my wife and son as a Christmas present for them to begin this month with high hopes. We show up for their first lesson, and are told neither of their instructors are there. One supposedly tried to contact us the day before to cancel, but I never got a phone call. We were told they had no idea why the other hadn’t shown up. Nothing was done to rectify the situation, but rather the person in charge just told us repeatedly it was out of her hands and the instructors’ fault. Very disappointed.
rented 2 instruments and after taking them back more than 6 times each for repairs still did not get them to play accordingly. Lost money and time. Never Again!!! And what’s worst after I returned the instruments I’m being charge for the same repairs they could not fix while I had them!!’ SMH..

This is my feedback to Mrs. Gonzalez. I would like to apologize One More Time to Mrs. Gonzalez. We are so sorry for inconvenience. I personally sent her back $70, not $35. Also the teacher offered her 2 free lessons, what was denied. She was agreed to change the teacher, but she canceled that already scheduled lesson with another teacher. We are 20 years in educational business and raised and taught more than 1000 musicians. We have several teachers who have been with the school since opening our door. We appreciate Mrs. Gonzalez review, but I wish she wrote there the whole story.
Great music school! We have been attending for almost 2 years. Mrs. Genyia is great with the kids, stern but patient. She really knows how to motivate them and encourage them to love music. I could go and and on, but all I have to say is that it’s worth the money and time. I have recommended her to friends and family and the also have the same opinion.
Very good school with high quality professors.
This is the most dishonest and disrespectful school out there. do not take your children to this place. I paid my daughter 2 classes in advance, of which 1 the teacher left us waiting outside for 10 minutes, which were deducted from the class that had already been paid for. the next class was postponed by the same teacher Lana. He scheduled us for another day because the teacher would be traveling. We went to the school and they left us waiting for 45 minutes to later tell us that she had forgotten that she had scheduled it so that we could go another day. I have to drive more than 30 min to this place and they are rude to me. my daughter didn’t want to go anymore. I asked the place for a refund and can you believe that such dishonest people returned $35 to me without giving any explanation. irresponsible and dishonest. Don’t waste your money or your time.

Very friendly staff. Bought a Fender Strat about a month ago (Sept.2017) and no major issues so far. I will suggest to them that when they sell a product, like a guitar, they should put a set of new strings on it before turning it over to the customer. When I tune my strat, it loses the tune before I can finish pllaying the first song. Otherwise I will continue using Jackson Music in Buford, GA.
First time customer and will definitely be going back for all my future purchases and needs! I Went in for trumpet repair for my daughters trumpet and they were able to help me right away and fix it for me. I normally went to a closer music store for all my needs but not anymore. Glad I found this store !
A class act!
I recently brought in a valuable old trumpet for repairs, and the workmanship was impeccable. I’m a semi-pro player, so details matter, and Jackson’s delivered. Further, the personal attentiveness and old-fashioned “family-run business” feeling — so difficult to find nowadays — is what sets Jackson’s apart from all the rest.
Very friendly staff. They make you understand about the different instruments if you have no knowledge about it.
Employees know there job but convenience is a -1
I come here for instrument repairs. I’m a professional musician that need his instrument asap. Mark at this location always fixes my sax perfectly. I’m going for a repad in the next two weeks
Rude! Told them I was just looking around at the moment and was laughed at…. shameful behavior by talentless jokes!
No inventory.
We just went to this place to rent a student flute for my daughter’s first year in band. My first red flag should have been that they told me they, “weren’t sure” if they would rent an instrument for fifth grade. It kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Mind you- the only reason we went to the store in the first place is because the school gave us a flyer advertising their rental options. We sat and waited for them to “process and pull” the rental and print my rental agreement. A different person than I initially spoke with came out and told me that they could not approve me for the rental. I’d say that their standards are pretty stringent. I have a great salary job on my application. I can get approval for a credit card, a car note, but not a student flute? They collect your card and account info. How high risk can it be considering that they can withdraw my 30 bucks every month? I told the man “You know what? That’s ok, I can have my mom come up here and do it, she has great credit.” He then proceeded to tell me that he will not allow grandparents the rent instruments, only parents. Uh…What?? What difference does it make? What about the kids whose guardian is not their parent? It’s just a bit much for a 30 dollar a month commitment and a 400 dollar instrument. He told me of their rent to purchase option. You end up paying 850 bucks for an instrument that retails half of that and pay more than the instrument is actually worth in a down payment. No thanks. He also offered to sell us one for 250. For a first year music student who may end up not liking band? I think not. We took our business to New School of Music 5 minutes down the road and it was quick, easy, and actually more affordable. My husband is always in the market for another guitar (purchase not rent) and we will be getting guitar lessons for my middle child. We definitely not be purchasing any of our instruments or lessons from Jackson’s.

Place to buy strings :
1. Got the pamphlet in school regarding string instruments
2. Visited the place and can see lot of string instruments for rental and buy
3. Most of students rent as it’s aligned to their interests
4. Rental plan with accident damage price is good compared to Music & arts shop
5. Customer service is good too
I suggest to buy or rent the instrument from this place
I needed bows for kids’ instruments at the last minute. David was very courteous in guiding me through the purchase and was in and out fast during busy hours. I would recommend this place for high quality products and service! It also helps that it’s near home so it’s convenient.
Amazing service and quality instruments!
Don’t try to rent a Bass from them.
I called for my wife, on the recommendation of our son’s orchestra teacher no less, to rent a Bass (1/2) so he wouldn’t have to lug his instrument to and from school.
After calling Roland Sachs Violins and asking several questions about their rent to own programs, we decided to fill out the form and put our banking information into their system. Even though they were a bit more expensive than their competitors.
Just one problem: from Wednesday to Friday, they decided Roland Sachs no longer rents Bass instruments… Even though you can still order one on their website, giving th your banking information. I would not trust a company that has decided to waffle on their own policies.
We have secured a Bass from one of their competitors so I do not mind burning this bridge. I am sure they are fine for smaller, instruments.
