They helped me find the perfect gift for my wife and it was affordable
The day before my audition my oboe fell over on the stand. One of my rods got bent, making my instrument virtually unplayable. Thankfully, Mike agreed to take a look at it about fifteen minutes after it happened and fixed it in no time. The staff was friendly and the price was affordable, even on such short notice.
Nice people good prices.
Great place. Zach Stout is an amazing and knowledgable saleseman!!
Tom was the best help! He helped us when someone sent my friend and I in the direction of the bathroom and failed to tell us the women’s room needed a key so we stood there waiting for 10 minutes !! Tom saved us … and then when nobody was helping us on the floor and we were being ignored by a kid in a plaid shirt we had to go across the store to find help and tom saved the day! He answered all our questions plus more. Ended up exceeding my expectations! I will definitely be coming back and recommending this location mainly because of him! Thank u!
O hope I can work there as a greeter some day
Very, very limited assortiment of MIDI keyboards, and very unhelpful staff
Sam ash sale person did a terrible job with me
Drove 25 minutes to the store only to find out it doesn’t open until noon. Utterly rudiculous! Just close your doors for good if you’re going to have such restrictive hours!
2. Guitar Center
Address: 50 Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT 06477 , Cabrera de Mar , Connecticut , United States
Excellent gear, and excellent customer service. Sending love to Bill E, Chaz W and all at GC. Love my new keyboard my hubby Alan bought me. Thank you boo! ❤️❤️
After stopping at the Guitar Center in New London (on my way home the casino) which I had a really poor experience. I drove all the way from there to the Guitar Center in Orange. My experience there was opposite that of my experience in New London. My needs were tended to, and the sales guy (Henry) was super patient with me and helped me pick out the best speakers that fit my needs and budget. I even got what I thought was “Top Dollar” for my trade as well. I would recommend the Guitar Center in Orange over any other music/audio store in the state.
Very nice people
Constantly overpriced.
Cool place. They have a large selection of electric and acoustic guitars and they’re all reasonably priced.
Don’t know whats going on with this place. Stopped by last week, couldn’t tell if they are going out of business, or just got robbed. Next to no inventory, things out of place. Store beat up and run down looking. Was once a great store. Almost always walked out buying something in the past. Now just a handful of overpriced guitars behind 1 counter and bunch of junk hanging on 1 wall. I wish them the best.
After guitar set-up I went back home and the guitar had the same issues in a few days. On another ocassion after acoustic guitar set up, I realized that for the high E they had used a B string instead of the high E string. I changed it and the guitar sounded better. I understand that the volume is high but they should get more people for repair. Never going there for guitar repair, buying equipment, yes but never again for guitar repair
I purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Special I P90, however, for some reason the in store price is $30 higher than the online price for the exact same model. I called the store before driving there and was told that they did not have that model, hence preventing me from doing an online purchase at the lower price. I drove to the store and purchased the exact same model for $30 more. The price hike does not bother me as much as the unethical nature of the transaction, so buyers be wary of the guitar center at Orange, Ct.
3. Acoustic Music
Address: 4 Maple St, Chester, CT 06412 , Cabrera de Mar , Connecticut , United States
Great staff! Walked out with the best guitar I’ve ever played (let alone owned)
Very helpful
It’s a no brainer, seriously. I’ve been going here since since I was 16, and used to annoy George with my Stephen Stills impressions. He was patient with me, lol. Anyway, this place is and has always been much more than a guitar shop. Yes, it’s a big part of who they are, but make no mistake, it’s also a place to be inspired, and be around people who truly love the instrument. They are the ONLY place I send folks.
Had a guitar cable when I needed it.
Thé Owners are lousy business
Not many mandolins
No prices listed
4. DuBaldo Music Center
Address: 881 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040 , Cabrera de Mar , Connecticut , United States
Finally got to visit after doing some business over the phone 18 years ago with Pete. Great inventory, selection and people. One of the very best examples of why we need to support local businesses and how great a family can run them!
I’ve never been more comfortable trying out guitars in a shop. I drove over an hour to get here and the customer service made it completely worth it. They have an incredible selection of great sounding instruments and went out of their way to make sure I found the guitar I wanted. Highly recommend this place.
That was likely the most pleasant guitar buying experience I have ever had. I could not recommend patronizing this amazing store more. Thank you so much!!
Great service
5. Amity Music
Address: 63 Amity Rd, New Haven, CT 06515 , Cabrera de Mar , Connecticut , United States
My 10 year old daughter had been taking piano lessons previously with a very traditional teacher and was losing the fun I the music. We switched over to Amity Music and she is loving playing again. She has fun, working on a mix of classical and current music of stuff she hears on the radio. Her teacher even had her play piano while he accompanied her on drums so she could hear her music in context of a band. Great learning experience!
I’ve been taking guitar at Amity Music for four years and it’s a very cordial place. It’s much better than any other place i’ve ever gone to.
I’m in a student rock band – fun!
6. Music & Arts
Address: 989 Farmington Ave, West Hartford, CT 06107 , Cabrera de Mar , Connecticut , United States
I like this place because Fred Pedemonti does NOT work there. Fred is scum.
However everyone here is polite and talented.
Great location. They don’t have boxes laying around. The Staff and teachers are great. Parking is rough, hoof it or pay up.
Went in just to look around and the guy working ended up teaching me a ton about what to look for when buying a piano and was super fun to talk to. Shoutout to whoever that was!
Limited retail space, but the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Music lessons are offered on site.
Yeah it’s good!
I have condensed my original rant down to the following- we really like our children’s teachers- but the front desk needs saving
The worst company in the world!!!! If I can give anyone advice it would be to stay away from this place. Their thief’s and I will never do business with them again.
Being a Deaf mother of hearing 9 years old child that has no knowledge in music, I asked if this is drumsticks is good for him. This man just gave me a cold look and said I don’t know it’s fine. He was rude. Definitely not a Deaf friendly store for those Deaf parents with hearing child who wants to join the band.
JUST HIT BACKSPACE ON YOUR BROWSER AND PICK ANOTHER COMPANY. YOU’RE WELCOME.
Called your West Hartford CT store early today, after calling around to several other of your stores, to see if the had a certain string for my cello and if they could fix the one string today. Was told yes on both. My husband drove 25 min there to find out they did not have the string. Drove to the nearest store that had this string (which was an additional 15 min out from my house) and they had no one to help with the cello. My husband ended up purchasing the string. Had I talked to him I would have told him not to make the purchase. Now every place is closed so tomorrow I have to go to another store to get this string put on. We needed the cello for tomorrow so you guys were literally no help. I will be returning the string and doing my business elsewhere. I should have listened to the other bad reviews. First time customer turned into last time customer.
