It’s an average Walmart. The employees are friendly. It’s usually stocked.
Store was vleane
Always clean
Wal-Mart’s are great. Their business acumen is stunning! Hiring wizards to maintain each building, with spells and runes and other unspeakable theatrics, to ensnare and enchant, and all at a minimum wage salary! That’s why one can never leave without spending at least $20$$, IF you’re lucky!
It was good. They have this one employee that is super nice but I didn’t catch her name
This location often has a better selection and variety of brands than other Walmart stores.
3 in the afternoon and only 2 cashiers? Ridiculous
Rude employees. Bad products. I don’t know what happened to Walmart but I have seen meat out in the wide open I mean what happened to customer service. Boo two things down. Even at customer service my issue today was had to return some hairspray out of a two pk. Cause the one that . Products not as good an the cloths I mean walmart use to have cute clothes. Not anymore.
Terrible service. Worst Walmart around to shop at.
5. Calera vape and Tobacco Shop
Address: 11038 AL-25, Calera, AL 35040 , Calera , Alabama , United States
Great selection of pipes and cleaning accessories. Always offering some sort of discount. Staff is friendly too! Thanks guys
Very nice and knowledgeable staff
Very friendly staff
This place is great. They have a large selection of vape juice larger than a lot of other vape stores I’ve been in. Most of the people that have waited on me there have been very nice but hardly any of them have any knowledge about the juices, coils, and mods. They should know about what they are selling. There was one guy that seemed to know everything about it all but haven’t seen him there in a while. They need more employees like him that can actually answer the question your asking.
Always friendly and eager to help with whatever I need.
They were out of the product I came for but had something in stock that was close enough. This place has a laid back stoner vibe. They have a store cat that I really liked.
TERRIBLE PLACE / EXPERIENCE. THEY ALWYS SAY THAT THIS OR THAT IS FIRE AND ITS ALL PREFILLED GARBAGE
Drove 10 miles because the site says they open at 9am on sunday but their not, thanks for wasting my time and gas
It was really nice. The atmosphere is cozy and the people are friendly and the prices are reasonable. I look forward to going back again and often. I encourage others to check it out. It’s worth it
The people are nice and really friendly. There’s always someone to answer any question. Board game prices are a bit high. Great selection of citadel paints. A genuine place that cares about their customers.
He had a really good selection of gaming stuff and a bunch of cool swords.
Is a nice shop only wish they had a better selection of alcohol
Reported the 1 star for the guns allowed sign since it has no bearing on the business itself. Just a self-righteous rude person who doesn’t respect the right to bear arms.
I am sharing this in hopes that those who feel as I do won’t waste a trip. I had been planning to visit ROE for quite a while (I do not live in Calera) and was looking forward to visiting both their bar and game store. According to Google Maps, ROE identifies itself as Black-owned, veteran-led, and women-led; three things I would normally go out of my way to support. However, the following sign greeted me upon arrival, prominently featured in ROE’s store-front window: “Guns are welcome on premises. Please keep all weapons holstered unless need arises. In such cases, judicious marksmanship is appreciated.” So despite making a special trip to Calera specifically to visit ROE, I turned around and never plan to visit so long as this ridiculous and dangerous policy remains in place. As a university professor, I believe in evidence-based reasoning, and data shows that the “good guy with a gun myth” is just that — a myth. I prefer to keep my tavern interactions with folks armed with deadly weapons to the realm of fantasy, where they belong; NOT my not-so-local hobby shop.

We were first introduced to Adventurer’s Coffee at a harvest fest last year. They had a booth set up and decided to buy a couple bags of their coffee. I’ve been hooked on the Faire Maiden since. I won a contest last year as well on Instagram.
I’ve always wanted to come to the coffee shop but am never in the area and live almost an hour away. Since we were going to Alabaster today I made sure to make a pit stop here today. I’m so happy we did! I ordered the smoked caramel macchiato and my husband ordered an espresso. Plus we bought a bag of ground Faire Maiden for myself. I LOVE the lightness of the Faire Maiden coffee and how it doesn’t have that strong coffee taste. I’m not a huge coffee drinker but will drink this till I’m blue in the face. The smoked caramel macchiato was amazing in fact it was so amazing I sucked it down in about 10 minutes. My husband loved his espresso and kept mentioning how strong it was. He likes his coffee black and strong. He also said it had an awesome flavor.
The coffee shop is quaint and charming. The employees are superior and super friendly. There was a book signing going on there today so I’m sure it was extra busy. Honestly couldn’t tell you who the author was. We decided to sit on the couch in the shop and enjoy our coffee with our daughter. I will eventually go back but I’m happy we splurged and visited here today! If I ever need anymore coffee I now know I can order it online so I’m happy about that! Thanks for a great experience and awesome customer service!
This is my favorite coffee shop in south Birmingham! It’s right in downtown Calera and next to some other cool places. Great coffee and great customer service/interaction.
Love this coffee shop. They are very laid back and have amazing coffee. Never a bad experience.
Cool shop with fair coffee
Usually great service. I got a great banana protein smoothie along with a bag of ground coffee. Got a smoothie this time, that did not have any protein or milk, and to wait for the coffee. Love the place but the girl was not informative, and I didn’t really get what I asked for. The managers usually make it right!
Food was a little on the cool side, but the coffee was tasty and the ambiance was nice!
I came in and no greeted me. Ok that’s fine. I was next in line and the person behind the counter addressed regulars (whom were behind me) and completely ignored that I was next. The line kept getting longer and I was never addressed, told to go, or even looked at twice. I am sure that this place is great… if you’re a regular there. I was in there for an hour and no one even acknowledged me. At some point I just sat there in front of everyone to see if they would acknowledge me. I promise my money is just as good as everyone else’s.
Parking: The parking was atrocious. There was a Calera special event. The owner should have stood up for their parking area.
Too expensive!
Lady with glasses is always incredibly rude to me when I come in, she rolls her eyes every time.

Honestly, did not look like much from the street, but I found so many little gems! This place is bigger than it seems, and is packed to the brim with all kinds of cool stuff! And even better, the staff is super friendly! I wish I could rate it higher! I will definitely be back! They are on Facebook, and I was told that they have markdowns all the time and two dollar Tuesdays! Sign says that they prefer cash, but do take cards with a surcharge.. I find that it is worth the cost for the quality of items. Open Monday through Saturday 8 to 5.
This is a great thrift store. Love donating to them. They help battered and abused women and children. The staff is very helpful and thankful for a donations. They have any and everything you need or want for your home or self. Great buys. Love that they help neighborhoods.
We love the store! I always run an arm full of things that we just can’t live without ❤️
Kinda pricey. But it goes to a good case. It had alot of stuff Just stuff I didn’t want.
Thrift store I could pass. Junky and not much room.

We just ate at the McDonald’s on Supercenter dr. In Calera, Alabama. The employees there were super friendly and helpful. Its been a long time since we’ve eaten at a fast food restaurant and felt welcome and not an inconvenience. Thank you for your hospitality!
Good fresh hot food
Good service
Not bad service
I just ordered hot coffee that was served at room temp. After going in to inform them, they made a fresh cup.
Decided to give the Crispy Chicken Sandwich try and let me say I can’t remember ever eating a worse chicken sandwich. First it just didnt look appealing, dark, dry and like it had been sitting for hours. Chicken tasted bland and looked soggy at some parts. I don’t think this chicken was freshly cooked.
I may go back and try something else but definitely disappointing.
Update: Came back for lunch and got a completely difference experience with a burgers and fries. Food was completely fresh and well cooked.
Never get anything right. I waited an hr (literally)to get to the window for them to tell me they didnt have my food ,so I waited 30 more minutes (the only reason I stayed is BC my kids dont like taco bell and those were the only two open and it was late) . they charged my card twice and didnt tell me they made an mistake. I just so happen to look at my purchases while I waited. I told them that they had charged me twice ,the lady said “well it ain’t gonna be back on there that fast”…….my response was,” had you all told me that you made that mistake, I wouldn’t have said anything but may i have my receipt, just in case”…… I couldn’t believe she got mad about someone charging me twice and not telling me…… ♀️ ♀️anyway I’m over it!
The place was nasty! Trash was everywhere, even stacked up in backs outside the door! There were fries squished in the floor. The bathrooms were disgusting. It seemed like the older manager was the only one working. She was constantly having to remind people to do their jobs.
Had to leave & go to Burger King for a kids meal.
14. Art’s Music Shop, Inc
Address: 4647 US-280, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Calera , Alabama , United States
❤️ I visited Art’s Music Shop for the first time last week, and I was very impressed with the professionalism of those who worked there and the great selection of instruments and music! Kayci Greer was very helpful and knowledgeable about my flute that needed repair! Their prices are also wonderful! Their dedication to excellence is inspiring!
Friendly atmosphere
Very friendly people. Great selection.
changed to 4 stars because service isn’t as good as it used to be. It is now only ok. Was also very expensive.
Always have a good experience at Arts. They work well with the school programs and if they don’t have what we need they are sure to find it
Attended a Breedlove Guitar Showcase. Art’s Music Shop in-store acoustic guitar lineup includes Breedlove, Michael Kelly, and Yamaha.
You should think about buying an instrument from another source, this place is a money pit, will find ways to charge you more than you should have to pay. They have in-house repair but will charge alot for any normal wear and tear, when you turn in a rental instrument after just 4 months rental. Ended up spending around $500. Should have bought an instrument elsewhere and would have owned it for that amount. Wish I had listened to my intuition. Lesson learned.
No se los recomiendo, es mejor comprar en online
If you drop your instrument off for an estimate get it in writing with a signature from the manager that they will not work on it.
I walked in to pick up my trombone from an estimate, started walking out and was told I owed money. For what? I did not authorize anything.
It’s too bad this shop is the only option in Birmingham. Check out Bailey Brothers to see if they have what you need first.
15. Bailey Brothers Music Company
Address: 4673 US-280 Suite # 7, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Calera , Alabama , United States
Excellent selection and reasonable prices. Something here for every musician.
Had just what I needed and little more.
Great service and especially from Lewis Ross.
good staff well organize not bad products
Usually get good service, but I took my guitar nut to be repaired after my guitar took a spill. I let them know the guitar had fallen and hoped they would fix. The nut was replaced poorly but the guitar had a buzz. Took it back 2 more times. The last visit, the person in charge of the repair (2 weeks later)said I had heavy fingers and raised the stings to a height that made the guitar unplayable. I took to another repair shop and they repaired the nut replaced by Bailey Brothers found a couple of uneven frets repaired the frets adjusted the neck and had to re-setup the guitar from the disaster repair at Bailey Brothers. If in need of repairs I will never return to this store.
It was my first time in the store and I had an excellent experience. David was very helpful and friendly as well as the other staff present. The online site lacks a lot of the guitars they have in stock because they get new guitars a lot so I would advise actually going into the store to see their wide selection.
I came in here the other day and they were incredibly overbearing and checked in on me every 30 seconds. From the second I walked in they were all up in my face and insisted on providing an address and phone number whenever I paid which I fully expect to be sold somewhere. I don’t know if they’re struggling to keep the lights on or something but the amount of customer service was way too much and came across as pushy and rude. Literally just let me shop.
I would use profane language, but it would not adequately describe the crap this company pulled. Basically, I took my brother to trade a PRISTINE first-owner amp, and we could prove it, in for a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, used, which is of equal value….and my brother coughed up $100.
I took off work to take him to initially buy the thing. I took off work to bring it in for repair when we discovered sticky crap on the power tubes, and I ended up working until 10PM thanks to these guys. They wanted me to take off work again, after having spent 5 hours in their store. I basically spoke up and said, he might be the customer, but I’m the wheelman, and I’m furious. I mentioned the fact of the wasted gas, wasted trips, and the at least 6 hours of driving they were expecting of me.
They checked OUR amp out very thoroughly, and even treated my brother like a criminal, saying they are getting his DL in case he stole it. SERIOUSLY people….
I tried to talk some business sense with them, asking them to do something for the trouble, and it would not have taken much. They said no. Then I asked if they can just reverse everything since ALL of the stuff was still in the store…. The guy made up a story of a law, which actually doesn’t exist, then claiming he has to charge extra to reverse it all. Guitar Center evidently doesn’t know about this (fake) law.
Not ONLY that, but the smug, d-bag attitude that the guy gave me when pushing my brother, his CUSTOMER aside to say “you don’t think we’re trying to rip you off do you?” He did this to put me on the spot, and tried to make me look like the bad guy.
In the end, my brother spent another $170 to get a new model. In the end, he got what he wanted, but we are both appalled by how the guy behaved to our faces. Beware, their used gear has NO warranty, but they represented at sale that they would ensure the gear works if something went wrong like the day we get it… Well… it did.
You don’t take someone’s $700 amp + $100 and then give them junk, and not try to do something proper after dragging someone thru hell. That’s the bottom line. I tried more than the guy at this store. You won’t catch us in that place again.
Considering the tens of thousands that my brother spent with other companies, Bailey Brothers missed an opportunity… Not good business. Dishonest, rude, and outright condescending. Smiled at us when we expressed our frustration with the runaround….
Recently brought a used instrument to these guys to be cleaned and conditioned. They charged $230 and I’m not really sure what they did beyond $40 worth of repairing. I even priced the individual parts myself and they cost a total of $23. The instrument was very dirty and they didn’t even do a good or complete job of wiping it down. We didn’t get any paperwork explicitly stating what they were going to do so we can’t really argue the point. The inside of the instrument wasn’t even touched during cleaning because there is obvious dust and grime that was there when we gave it to these guys.
We also bought a mouthpiece for the instrument, I previously priced it at $10 online and it was $35 at this place. An outrageous markup.
All of this was after agreeing to a monthly payment for an instrument only to be informed the day before it was needed that they didn’t have any in stock so we had to scramble to find a different option. Because of this, they also didn’t send us a cleaning kit for the instrument that had been fully paid for.
I will be looking for another place for any other instrument needs.
16. Homewood Musical Instrument Co
Address: 1712 28th Ave S, Homewood, AL 35209 , Calera , Alabama , United States
Have all of my guitars setup here, quality work, good people.
Awesome! Very helpful. Extremely knowledgeable. Will visit again!
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
Good product, Good service.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.
17. B&C Music
Address: 314C Billy B Dyar Blvd, Boaz, AL 35957 , Calera , Alabama , United States
Love this place, always very helpful and has a great selection of equipment and accessories.
Been doing business here for 16 plus years awesome people very knowledgeable and easy to use they don’t ever pressure you in any direction great people and business
Great personnel and great to help.
Excellent locally owned and operated business!
Over priced. Only good if you need to grab a pack of strings or something small last minute.
Good site
I felt watched and rushed. Two women were working there that day, one was very friendly. I did not feel comfortable asking questions and also it was so hot in there.
Awful place with cheap brands and overpriced / broken used instruments.
The people are not friendly, the merchandise is overpriced, some equipment is not even new (and it is damaged) although they don’t disclose that information, and getting around in a wheelchair is next to impossible. The lady at the register didn’t know anything about the equipment. It is definitely worth the drive to go somewhere else.
18. Sonic Drive-In
Address: 124 Co Rd 304, Calera, AL 35040 , Calera , Alabama , United States
My recent visit to Sonic Drive-In left me thoroughly impressed with both the food and the overall experience. From the moment I pulled into the iconic drive-in, I knew I was in for a treat.
One of the standout features of Sonic is its vast menu. Whether you’re in the mood for classic burgers and hot dogs or you’re looking to satisfy a craving for crispy, flavorful tots, Sonic has you covered. Their extensive drink menu, featuring an array of refreshing slushes and shakes, is a delightful bonus.
The convenience of ordering from your car and having your food brought to you is a unique and enjoyable aspect of the Sonic experience. It feels like a nostalgic throwback to a bygone era of drive-ins, complete with carhops on roller skates. It’s a fun and memorable way to dine.
Now, let’s talk about the food. Sonic’s offerings are known for their delicious simplicity. The burgers are juicy, the hot dogs are satisfyingly savory, and the tots are crispy perfection. Their diverse range of sauces and toppings allows for customization, so you can create your ideal meal.
One of my personal favorites is their Sonic Blast – a creamy, indulgent concoction of ice cream blended with various mix-ins. It’s the perfect sweet treat to end your meal on a high note.
The service at Sonic Drive-In has consistently been efficient and friendly in my experience. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the staff ensures that orders are accurate and delivered promptly to your car.
In conclusion, Sonic Drive-In offers a delightful
Love their half off burgers on Tuesday
A very good experience
Food was good and so was service
Was good
Went on a Friday night in July, arrived at 8:15. We noticed the lights were out in the stalls, was told at the drive thru, they closed at 8:00. Not very smart??? I guess we will have to go to the Dairy Queen in the town in the opposite direction for a weekend treat.
Order was never taken. Pushed button to order and nobody inside answered. Left after 5 minutes never ordered. Went to McDonald’s.
Super slow service with mediocre food and not really well mixed slushes. I like sonic, but not this one.

Some of the friendliest people around!! Great selection.
I spoke in-depth with David Ellis about a Yamaha grand piano and he was very knowledgeable and extremely honest. He gave me so much of his time. I truly valued his opinion and would highly recommend Ellis Piano!
I went in for some general information and Cory helped me tremendously
5 stars go ellis oiano
my experience was questionable. they decide who they want …
The staff was friendly, and they have tons of pianos and other equipment to choose from. The space is enormous, and is fun to just browse. They also do repairs. Call or stop by for any musical needs. Would go again.
Nice, helpful staff
