Not a lot of choices but I like how everything works out. I have got many free movies because of how much I use it.

Love the place. Love the people. Love the prices.
A fun little secondhand store staffed by local volunteers selling locally donated items !
This endeavor raises money for scholarships and the staff is a dedicated bunch . The shop is tidy and the offerings clean and varied . Merchandising is well done and clothing is well displayed as are all the nic-nacs . Yes Men , there are things for YOU too ! Limited days of the week but worth the visit..(the prices are GREAT !).
The Homemakers Thrift Shop donates all their proceeds to local organizations such as the schools, youth sports and scholarships. On top of that they are so friendly and they make sure everything is clean and organized.
3. Back Country Trading Post
Address: 1372 Buckman Springs Rd, Campo, CA 91906 , Campo , California , United States
Trading Post has everything from clothes, furniture, vintage glassware +more . The store yard looks a little crazy but there was damage from a storm. This little place has something for everyone!
4. Campo Green Store and Deli
Address: 31080 CA-94, Campo, CA 91906 , Campo , California , United States
I live in Campo and Lance’s store has literally saved my livelihood more than once for sure. Its the sense of community that keeps my family and I returning even when it’s inconvenient. The prices aren’t “blow me away” but definitely reasonable for the location but it’s worth any extra pennies for the service. Lance and his team are always helpful in any way possible. Even helped me out on gas when I was stranded a few times and you don’t find people who care enough to want to help anymore. The store has everthing from groceries to propane to auto care to formula. And if there’s something a local is going to purchase regularly, Lance will order it. Whether he sees your face everday or you’re popping in once just passing through the Green Store will make you feel noticed and to me that’s important. Just wish he had a gas pump! Rodney & Krysta
Nice pl. At this rural area
The best little store. Has everything you could need. Very nice man that was working.
They have a little bit of everything and if they don’t have something you need just ask and they will try to get it
Good selection of drinks and food.
There is nothing here but the museum, a stoplight, and a small convenience store. It is so far removed from everything that you get a great perspective of exactly the way that life was led in this rather desolate location.
It would be nice if every business I dealt with had the same excellent customer service as The Terry Carter Music Store. Whether it is communicating with Terry or someone else on his team, I have always felt genuinely cared for. Each of my orders has arrived in a timely manner even when there are postal delays. My orders have been for various ukes, books, strings, and clothing, and All have arrived safely. Thanks Terry Carter Music Store and ULTP…y’all are awesome!
This is my first order with Terry Carter Music Store. I ordered the Kala tenor bambo uke with a gig bag, basic set up and humidifier and am very pleased! It plays well, sounds great and looks good. I have several ukuleles and started learning to play several years ago but stopped for a long time. I have recently started trying to learn and expand my prior knowledge and am enjoying this ukulele and Terry’s lessons very much. I have arthritis in my hands and fingers now and the basic setup makes it a little easier to play the chords.
Staff is professional and made sure I received my order right away
I ordered some heavy, Herco, guitar thumb picks. They are just what I needed and wanted. However, the ad made it sound like I would get a pack that included several picks, with different colors. I was very disappointed when they arrived and it was only 1 pack with 3 picks. I think $7.99 is pretty expensive for just 3 picks.
Ukulele is beautiful – took a bit to get shipped but worth the wait
Order arrived as scheduled.
The shop is overpriced and the owner is shady as hell. If you even do the most basic of comparison shopping, you’ll see how much he’s trying to take advantage of ukulele players.
Carter’s NOT the only game in town and uke players deserve better.
Well product said ukelele humidification system and ended up just humidification pouches that are way too big for ukelele sound hole only able to put in case with instrument wasn’t really what I was looking for thought they’d be smaller I’ll use till I find something better like Dadario guitar type with humidity pouches shipping was kinda slow also I guess their a bit smaller than guitar ones not much though
it has been 6 days and I still have not received my strings I will never buy another thing from you I EVEN HAD TO PAY FOR SHIPPING! ! !
6. Alan’s Music Center Inc
Address: 8510 La Mesa Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942 , Campo , California , United States
Visited today. Found a great value on a used guitar. Friendly and helpful staff.
Old school music store!
Nicest staff. Great selection and classes are reasonably priced
This is one of the best music stores in the area. They seem to have a lot of music teachers for each instrument, and their music selection is awesome, including method books for advanced players.
I love Alan’s. But had a unpleasant experience last time there. Lady behind the counter was very unfriendly.
Gute Musik
Walked in today and the whole upstairs smelled like sewage!! I used to love this place. Please, please fix this. I cannot come back with that smell!!
Alan’s has been our one-stop-shop for music, instrument rentals and instrument repair since our daughters started taking piano lessons 18 years ago. In the years since, we’ve taken flutes, saxes and a trombone in for repair. Often, Bob would do it on the spot – and would refuse payment. Most times it was quick, professional and fairly priced. And, I’ve posted appropriately complimentary reviews at that time. Our girls are away at college now, so we haven’t been there in quite a while, but this week’s experience was markedly different. Last Wednesday, I joined a community concert band (first ensemble in nearly 40 years). On Thursday, I took two flutes in for adjustment. On Friday, I called – as directed. Bob advised that he hadn’t even looked at them yet, but said that he would call me back. Today – Tuesday, I called and was informed that I was “moving up the list”. I understand (now) that they have more work than they can handle, and I don’t begrudge them that. But, it would have been nice if they would have said, “We won’t be able to get to your instruments for a week, or a month, or until 2019”, rather than leading me to believe that I should expect the same service as I’d always received in the past. And, when I picked up the instruments this morning, I asked for a recommendation to another shop that might not be as busy. But instead of extending that professional courtesy, they said they didn’t know, since several shops had closed. The 2 stars is for that. So, I guess it’s not surprising afterall, that no one in my section had ever heard of Alan’s Music. I will take my leaky flute into tomorrow’s rehearsal and ask where my fellow musicians recommend I take it for repair.
The staff always seems bothered when you come in. Also over priced.
7. Guitar Center
Address: 8825 Murray Dr, La Mesa, CA 91942 , Campo , California , United States
Lots of instruments to demonstrate- my children ages 8 to 26 really enjoyed their time here. Staff is awesome and helpful.
I never been in this place before and is amazing how many types of musical instruments are.
Staff was very relaxed and very helpful it definately felt like i could be comfortable talking with anyone who approached me
Kinda expensive. Also, not enough staff to help, especially when what you’re looking for isn’t exactly in an obvious location.
GC La Mesa/San Diego rebounded greatly from their bankruptcy issues. This store has flooded with all types of tour-worthy boutique gear, quality choices for noobs—and all the noise in between. Sweet, sweet noise. You’ll be here a while, make sure your friends are prepared to hang out. Staff are cool, but there’s always a wait to check out or to get help. They seem to have doubled down on their lessons and will let you play whatever you like. However they still don’t stock my favorite picks.
The sales guys were a little slow to help at first but were very helpful when we got their attention.
don’t take your guitar here for a set-up, tune up! these guys are so incompetent. I brought my guitar here for a set up and not only did they not clean it, they made it unplayable and left so many buzz frets. it was so stupid.
the worst part was that they made me pay for another set up to fix it. don’t come here with these idiots. local shops are much more knowledgeable and delicate with your guitar. i only have one guitar, so i am completely upset that this is now unplayable.
The store was cool but the service was very bad
I wont be back. I will spend my money anywhere else besides a place that requires a face muzzle. Keep being good little sheep.
8. El Cajon Guitars & Music
Address: 172 E Main St, El Cajon, CA 92020 , Campo , California , United States
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, cool guitars and equipment, I purchased a unique Amp and am very happy with it.
I went to El Cajon Guitars & Music with my friend. To my surprised Frank and Maria are such great people and very helpful to teach us differeny features of guitars and it’s history. It was helpful to me since I don’t know much about guitars. My friend end up in liking a ukelele. They are awesome.
This guy is the real deal, if your local musician, and you want to improve your craft, and purchase an instrument, don’t go to guitar Center. Go here..
The prices are good, the selection is awesome. And the owner has got a ton of soul..
9. Music Mart
Address: 122 S Solana Hills Dr, Solana Beach, CA 92075 , Campo , California , United States
These guys are awesome. Their shop had everything you’d want and you couldn’t ask for a better experience. I searched for months in huge stores to try and compare between two specific guitars from Taylor and Martin. Music Mart had a huge inventory and I was able to sit down and play both to decide. Definitely recommend heading to this shop for any instruments or gear you need.
Came in here to buy my first guitar. Josh was extremely helpful in letting me try guitars and explaining what I was looking at. He got me a great used guitar at a great price and gave me a new set of strings with an offer to come back and get new ones on for free if I wanted. Will be frequenting this place for all my music needs
Small shop but a great selection of decent and high end guitars. John was very helpful to answer my questions. These folks listen to your needs, provide valuable feedback and best of all they are not pushy salesmen. Jeff also jumped in to advise why an amp can be useful to a beginner. Pay these guys a visit; you’ll be happy you did.
Good place but they don’t carry fender products so
Terrible service. They can’t stay focused on helping the next customer. Nice shop and nice people, but was very disappointed in the service (or lack of) that I received. I got passed over for other customers several times. Not good.
10. Mark’s Guitar Exchange
Address: 3233 Midway Dr, San Diego, CA 92110 , Campo , California , United States
They’ve been phenomenal every time I’ve brought in one of my guitars. Great selection of products and the folks that run it are awesome. Big fan.
If you’re in the market for guitar’s Mark’s Guitar Exchange has everything you could possibly want. Excellent service, selection and top-notch customer support. Check it out, I know you will be happy you did!
Incredibly helpful staff. Jeff and Rick were generous both with their time, expertise, and guiding me to the perfect instrument for a far more than reasonable price. They have the largest inventory of Seagull guitars in the area, and this alone merits a visit to witness the awesome sound and North American craftsmanship of this brand. As others have said, just stop by, preferably without an agenda because this is a place to learn and buy from the best!
Great music shop very knowledgeable staff. One guy there can be kind of rude but overall the shop itself has a great variety and you’ll probably find anything your looking for.
Don’t let the size of the shop fool you! Great selection
Very friendly staff. Traditional guitar brands only. When I asked them to order an Ibanez, they let me know that they aren’t an Ibanez dealer and therefore can’t order one. For the same reason, they couldn’t properly price the instruments that I tried to trade in. This makes sense, I should have called ahead before taking the trip. Instead, they gave me advice where to sell my guitars.
On a side note, guitar center couldn’t deliver either, so I ended up buying 2 top notch guitars from FGN which is the house brand of the factory that makes Ibanez’ high end products.
The employees were rather rude and treated me like I knew nothing about guitars. They did not allow demos unless I planned on buying a guitar. Even though I was the only customer inside, they barely talked to me. If they were talking to me, it was a sales pitch. Treated me like a paycheck as opposed to a person. I will never recommend this place to anyone.
They carry great instruments, amps and gear, and the prices are fair. The staff is knowledgeable. But unless you’re holding lots of cash or an AMEX Black card where they can see it or they believe you’re rich, THEY REFUSE TO HELP. Extremely snotty, uptight, unwilling to assist or allow you to try the equipment in the store. I asked to try a pedal effect. Mark said, “Look on YouTube”, with a sneer.
It’s hard to keep a music store open. Attitude is important. And their attitudes suck.
Go anywhere else. Mark’s isn’t the only place to buy guitars. I’ll never spend a penny there again.
Came here while on vacation and wanted to check out some guitars in the area. Do NOT go here if you actually want to play an instrument that’s worth anything…
Super cramped place and was treated like a child when I wanted to take down a guitar. This was after discussing already owning a vintage instrument with a guy there…lol. Would not recommend if you actually want to play anything…otherwise you might as well be going to an art gallery.
11. Music Store Live
Address: 300 W 28th St Ste #102, National City, CA 91950 , Campo , California , United States
I’ve been wanting to try an Ibanez AZ2204N for some time but couldn’t find it anywhere. Happened to see their website and pulled the trigger on one because of a great deal. Shipping was quick and the guitar came set up exactly how I would’ve. I used to live in the area I’ll have to check them out whenever I visit National city!
Love you guys!! Always killer prices!!
Ben was really helpful and gave me a fantastic deal 5 stars for a brilliant fast service.
Thank you very much
I purchased the electrical piano, Roland RP30. It’s really a good looking piano, but unfortunately, when we received it, the back board of the key was cracked (the parts already built). I couldn’t reach out to the service department so I left the review here.
Ben Anderson helped me to solve the problem. It was a bit of trouble to send the piano back, but he was so helpful and shipped the new piano. My son enjoys playing that piano so much now.
Used to be 5 stars. Now I feel like a bother. Spent alot of money here, guess they don’t need anymore
I have been trying to get in contact with this company for a week. They do not respond to phone calls, phone messages, website messages, or emails. The only way I could get information about a return is through PayPal. I thought my experience would be good because of the reviews. They show 30 day returns, but won’t respond. I gave two stars because they have some products that I couldn’t find anywhere else.
After reading such great reviews , I was looking forward to an order I placed where I was told I was fortunate and that my order was definitely being shipped by end of day. Suddenly after a followup on my order im now told my order was refunded and it was not shipped. I was very disappointed with Ben after reviewing such great reviews. What a shame from such a reputable music store. This unfortunate will be my first and last experience.
12. Campo Cafe
Address: 1247 Sheridan Rd, Campo, CA 91906 , Campo , California , United States
Very new modern and super clean chill place. Friendly staff. Burger was fantastic!! Also got the Mexican mocha ice coffee with almond milk – sooo tasty!!
Great food! Low prices!
Muy rica la comida y buen servicio
Friendly fast breakfast
Friendly place for a quick bite
Good burgers and good service. It was really busy when everyone showed up all at the same time. Took a little longer for the food, but it was worth the wait. The server let me know it would take longer due to the volume of customers who all came in at the same time. Very pleasant to sit outside on a nice day to enjoy the sun and breeze.
Thanks for the offer and I did get a refund; however, not getting the food I ordered and paid for after waiting over 30 minutes was the worse.
It wasn’t the best . We came in, our order was taken. The place was almost empty. While we sat people started filtering in. It took about 45 minutes to finally get our food. I think when in that area, I’ll try somewhere else. The food was adequate, however. Just the service sucked
Really messed up our order today and didn’t even attempt to fix and gave us the wrong tea when we call they basically brush it off will not be going there for awhile
