Had 4 meals last week. Place is always busy , but for good reason!
Great cini rolls.
Great food and awesome customer service. Only thing that bugged me was the dang flys! Chicken strips tasted good and so were the doughnuts! A must try when visiting Cascade.
Good food and cozy.
Had dinner got the clam appetizer the beef brisket with baked potato and cream broccoli soup all were excellent staff was friendly and courteous definitely recommend it the pizza must be good during my meal there were quite a few people coming and getting pizzas
Pizza are amazing
Great waitress. I should have listened to her
Really wanted to rate this well, but can’t. Service was tolerable, but they were understaffed, meaning everything was really slow. My food was good, but my girlfriend gave up on her Denver Omelet for two reasons. One, the “cheese” they use is a Velveeta derivative, which was a little deceptive (and she hates pasteurized cheese products). Two, was the hairs she found while she was trying to pick the “cheese” off the omelet.
The burgers were pre-formed frozen patties that were overcooked and dry. I really wanted to like this place but just couldn’t.
3. Lakefront Bar & Grill
Address: 117 Lakeshore Dr, Cascade, ID 83611 , Cascade , Idaho , United States
Excellent food staff very friendly and that have excellent cocktails highly recommended
Great food and great service!!
They have a nice variety of food options!
Great staff, always friendly and helpful. The food is tasty as well as inexpensive, (really a great buy). Not open Mondays, but all other days. The owners are great people and go the extra mile to make people comfortable and well fed. Great homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, steak, chicken, pasta, and a little seafood. Several salads available as wraps too. Vegan requests are also available. Full bar & good drinks there also.
Best food choice in Cascade- we go often when in town.
Family owned & operated – give it a try!!
Was a great t meal prices were reasonable service was good and the food was fast in coming.
Clean, great view of lake, fair prices. Food was ok. Smaller sandwich size. Lots of the typical pre-packaged offerings . Waiter was ok. Did not offer a beer list or even want to recite what was on hand. Just suggested that we look inside the glass front fridge and at the various tap handles, OK.
Attached to the Golf course. Would not recommend to just go here for the food. Great place as part of your golf game though.
It is okay. Not the worst or the best. If updated with more fresh native ingredients mixed with your traditional American food (burgers/fries) it would be the bomb.
Allowed smoking on the patio which I’m pretty sure is still illegal in Idaho anywhere in a public eating establishment. Good was mediocre.
2 nights ago went there food was great service from bar tender was awesome. Went back today service was great from waitress and food was great. Bar tender was piss poor. Not friendly. but with all her friends she was friendly and as helpful as could be and just not a good bar tender at all. Wife asked fir a water and was blown off. Till she asked bus boy.
Not impressed at all. Had reservations for a certain time and waited 20 minutes past before being seated. Staff was friendly, and I think meant well, but she had to keep being reminded to bring things.
Food was mediocre at best. We ate here a few years ago and it was great! Not sure what happened. Appetizers were all store bought and reheated. Steak was a mostly fat, very little meat. Alfredo was terrible. Tri-tip tasted like an Italian blend with bbq sauce thrown on top. Country steak was store bought, frozen. Gravy was like glue. “Fresh fruit” was squishy and obviously had sat out all day. Only good food for everyone was the salads.
4. Welch Music Center
Address: 12516 Fairview Ave, Boise, ID 83713 , Cascade , Idaho , United States
Wonderful concert facility for a child’s piano recital
Friendly staff, great rental prices.
Great pricing
Friendly employees
Mediocre selection. Disinterested staff. No masks.
Knowledge and friendly people with out the hovering around constantly asking if you need anything.
Awesome baby grand pianos and many other instruments, very friendly staff
RENTER BEWARE! Insurance on rented instruments does not cover accidental damage. You are better off going to Dunkley and renting – their insurance DOES cover accidental damage. We found out the hard way and were first told that the insurance would cover the damage, then told it would not, and we were treated very rudely by the old guy who works there – I don’t think he can have a conversation without interrupting.
I went in with questions and the intention to purchase books. While waiting for the next available sales person I was going to check out the pianos. One of them asked me if I was going to buy a piano and I said no, and then they kicked me out. I’ll never come back.
Do not youse there piano moving service. They chipped a good chunk of my piano, and didn’t take any responsibility for the incident! Go to Dorsey music, or any other store! JUST DONT LET WELCH MUSIC MOVE YOUR PIANO!
5. Gig’s Music
Address: 611 N Orchard St, Boise, ID 83706 , Cascade , Idaho , United States
Local. This is a locally owned and operated guitar shop. New and used equipment. Knowledgeable staff, and they sell music by local artists. This is more of a contemporary supply store, guitar, bass, drums. No cellos or grand pianos really.
Andy was super friendly and helped me record my very first recording.
Took in my first guitar for a setup and saddle replacement and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. I was told the saddle could be salvaged, but when I picked it he actually replaced it for half off parts and no labor! Definitely earned a customer for life, and the guitar plays like a dream now. 5/5 stars
I remember, not too long ago Gigs Music Company was owned and operated by Rick and Debbie Schroeder. They had an impressive enventory. Then it changed hands you another great musician who worked for the Schroeders from the beginning and held it’s integrity. It seems those days are over. I’ve been there a few times lately and it saddens me to say it’s really gone down hill. To say the service is poor would be a understatement. The inventory lacks quantity and quality both. It’s definitely not getting a favorable critique from me. Three stars is more than generous in my view.
The store is small, and the selection of instruments is not exactly large. Chances are, you’ll only find between 3 and 5 bass guitars for sale. There is usually an adequate amount of electric guitars to browse through though. Also, a fairly good selection of acoustic guitars. And, you’ll probably find some other instruments, like cigar box guitars, ukes and banjos.
If you are looking for used instruments and good deals, I think Gigs is worth visiting.
Andy, the store’s proprietor, is friendly, quite helpful, and easy to talk to. Several musicians I’ve talked with say he is a very good guitar tech.
There are one or more guitar teachers working there. I heard one was quite good, but I can’t remember his name, sorry. The teacher or teachers work with both adults and kids.
The worst thing about the store is sometimes people smoke in there. I don’t like being in an enclosed environment in which people are smoking. I tend not to stay long when I smell cigarette smoke. That’s just nasty, and discourages business.
If this store sold more bass guitars, and if no one ever smoked inside, I’ve be giving Gigs a 5 star rating instead of 4.
Great help and service. Instruments were priced Right and in great condition for being used.
Went by to sell a couple guitars and amps on a Saturday. Hours on the door say they open at 11, but it was 1115 and noone was there. Another customer in the parking lot told me that “sometimes this just happens” and said he texted the owner to see when they were coming. At 1130 we both left. Follow the hours you show.
I dropped off my amp to get the boost and reverb fixed in August 2019. Over a year later and I still don’t have my amp. I’ve stopped by several times and tried to help find the parts needed. They won’t answer or return my calls so stopping by is the only way to check in. It’s been perpetually “a couple weeks” away from being done for a year. Unbelievably bad service. Never ever rely on them for amp repair.
Sell used stuff.
6. Reo’s Pizza
Address: 402 S Main St, Cascade, ID 83611 , Cascade , Idaho , United States
Excellent menu choices for pizza, pasta, & sandwiches. Priced very reasonably. Tasty, well stocked salad bar items. Family friendly atmosphere. Locally owned & operated.
Lots of ingredients. Good tasting sauce and crust. Pizza could have used more cheese, it would have kept
the plentiful ingredients on the pizza better! I didn’t see any handicap parking but it could have been there. Did I mention that it was the only place to eat that was open?
Good pizza for the price.
Friendly staff, quick and good lunch special price! Would definitely recommend!
Pizza was good service was not the best
We bought the extra loaded pizza (not the combo) I didn’t like it. We came there to get the combo and the ladies didn’t even offer to explain the menu.
Waited 1 hour
7. Dunkley Music
Address: 3410 N Eagle Rd, Meridian, ID 83646 , Cascade , Idaho , United States
I’ve been going to Dunkley’s for a long time now, and it has never failed to impress me. With wonderfully made instruments and lovely workers to help, there is no music store that compares. Recently, I went to the store in search of a guitar strap that was both beautiful and well-crafted. While I stayed my time, a worker, Olive, came over to help me find just what I needed. She was charming, fun to talk to, and helped to find the perfect item for me! I couldn’t ask for a better store (or customer service) near me. Thank you Dunkley’s for always helping and having just what I need!
The staff at Dunkley have always been accommodating, knowledgeable, and attentive. Thanks for being a part of both of our kids’ journey into music!
Excellent service and very helpful finding what I needed
Good selection, helpful staff.
Nice location. For service, I prefer the Nampa store.
Back when Dunkley’s was in-town in Boise, I was an avid customer…they always have been professional and friendly all-in-one! They still are.
All of my musical equipment, specifically my violin and flute for school orchestra/band, came from here. And I am impressed with it nowadays!
GOOO Dunkley Music!!!
The Nampa location is great. Helpful, knowledgeable, experienced. I brought in a violin i bought, and wanted it checked out. So it was sent to their luthier, a fella called “Rand”. This dude needs social interaction lessons. What a rude, short tempered jackal. If you like being talked to in a demeaning and belittling way, have your string instrument looked at by “Rand”. If you like normal, socially accepted treatment, avoid Dunkley or, more precisely, Rand.
This would be a wonderful music store if it wasn’t for the poor customer service for the folk who come in who are judged based on appearance and/or their apparent wealth or lack thereof. I have been playing piano and trombone for more than half my life now and my daughter is about to enter 6th grade. She has tried the trombone but is more interested in playing tuba. The staff told her she was too little, that the other instrument she was interested in — bassoon — was “really rare,” [too] expensive, and that starting on a double reed instrument was a really bad idea…oh, and did I mention that she was just way too short to play the instruments she wanted? This is not their place to decide and I have played alongside MANY petite, thin, and amazing female tuba players. Staff should not provide input on what instruments myself or anyone else “should” play, nor place any limits on their customer. Their job is to sell instruments and they can do so without being condescending or insulting.
I took my guitar to Dunkley Music to repair its broken bridge. A week passed without so much as a phone call or e-mail to give me an estimate for the work. I stopped in and an employee told me that they intended to give my guitar to an independent tech to fix it. Fine; no worries. Four weeks passed. FOUR WEEKS. No phone call, no e-mail. I finally returned to the store to get my guitar. A different employee greeted me and retrieved my guitar from among a dozen or so others, which were no doubt collecting dust while not being worked on. She said, “Let’s take a look and see that the work has been completed.” Shocker: it hadn’t. I told her that they had had five weeks now to at least take a look at it and give me an estimate. The fact that they hadn’t was a sure sign that they didn’t give a damn about me, my guitar, or my business. I would call the service terrible, but “non-existent” is a better descriptor.
8. Rick’s Music
Address: 915 W Flamingo Ave, Nampa, ID 83651 , Cascade , Idaho , United States
Been going to Rick for years, he has quality stuff at an even better price. And he got on drums and jammed with me and my friends after I bought a new guitar. Really great guy with a really great store
Very helpful and great customer service, definitely recommend for buying a new guitar or getting yours tuned up!
This guy is a life saver/ miracle worker! Brought him 4 old guitars and he made them all amazing. Seriously. Why go anywhere else? Service, knowledge, and just amazing skills don’t exist like him anymore. A true gem in the world of guitars.
I had Rick set up my guitar. He did a Fantastic job. Fast and reliable. One day service. I would Recommend him all who needs guitar service. AAA++++
Rick is a great guy, and there’s always a gem or two hanging on the wall. Good prices, too!
Last Saturday I took my most prized possession to Rick, I paid to have a set up and new strings put on my Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute pro. When I got it home I pulled it out and wanted to play it. I noticed right off the bat that Rick took a Utility knife or some other tool and shaved off the binding all around the fret board The fret board has gouges all the way around and the frets stick out and gouge your fret hand when you try to play it. My guitar is completely ruined! I haven’t slept in several days I’m so pissed. I in no way implied, asked for or mentioned that he do this to my guitar. I can’t even open the case it makes me so sick! I would not recommend Rick to anyone again. Rudy Rodriguez Nampa Idaho
9. Dorsey Music, Nampa
Address: 1231 Caldwell Blvd, Nampa, ID 83651 , Cascade , Idaho , United States
Best place around to shop for musical instruments, sheet music, music books, repair service, music lessons. I KNOW they have more to offer.
Always love these guys. They’ve always been friendly and helpful, but most of all, they make me feel welcome in their establishment as soon as I walk in the door, and that is huge.
The team at this store is a wealth of knowledge! The trusted shop f9r professional to student violinists and fiddlers!
grate serves grate insterments
Nice staff, reasonable prices.
Very helpful
I went in to get bass string for my 5 string. The first thing I saod was that I had a 5 string bass, then they brought me a 4 string pack I said that was th wrong one, then they rudely said that I should have mentioned something earlier even though I said the only reason I was there was because I needed a B string.
So disappointed. I’ll admit I came in expecting to be helped and I didnt hide that I didnt know the difference between a high end guitar or a cheap one. He seemed to be helpful and let my son try different guitars to size them to my son. He did seem a little off the whole time like he was a little humored I didnt know my guitars. He knew the price range we wanted to spend. He ended up bringing us a guitar with no price tag on it “This is the only one without a tag”. My son loved this one so I asked him the price. It happened to be exactly what our budget was. When he was out of the room we took a picture of the model number. When we left we did research. He was trying to sell us a $180 guitar for $300. And was trying to take advantage that we were trusting his “help” for a newbie. Talked to my musical friend they said they are notorious for that and they are crooks. So disappointed in that level of dishonesty. I thought it was weird this guitar was missing its price tag.
Want to be talked down to? Then this place is for you. Bunch of old snobs.
10. Clear Creek Station
Address: 10694 ID-55, Cascade, ID 83611 , Cascade , Idaho , United States
We come in every time we come to Cascade, which is often since we have a recreational property down the road. Food is great, service is great, and the ice cream scoops are INCREDIBLE. New owners are doing an awesome job.
Love this place!! The owners are so friendly and Ryan the cook/ manager makes the best BLTA sandwich! Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed
I make it a point to stop here almost every time I’m travelling up 55. I just enjoy the place. The people here are great and it’s a nice place to grab a snack before hitting the road again.
Always good ,however why they were closed July 4/5 seemed crazy.Great opportunity to make money as Cascade downtown was crazy busy a ne wait time at Whistlestop and Grandma’s was half hr.Our family split between the 2 and also had great food.We wanted to go to Cl Creek however. But closed.Crazy,on a busy holiday !
Amazing burgers! Thick & Juicy. Fresh vegetables. Awesome fry sauce. Large selection of fries. But I had to send the fresh cut ones back because they were greasy and limp.
Trash can overflowing at the front door. Floors dirty. Windows dirty. I wonder if the kitchen is dirty too?
Beware! There are no policies specifically on month to month space rent, they have zero communication skills, the staff doesn’t even know their policies yet when we tried to talk to Lance he was dismissive, would not listen to our point of view, and assumed he knew the whole story, started yelling at me and hung up on me. Email Marissa he said. Well that is where a conversation goes to die because she never responds to call backs or emails. Poor business practices, unprofessional owners that do not keep this place up. Allowing barrels of trash, broken items and other unsightly things to be stored around campers with tarps on them. Restaurant is OK at best, service is usually pretty bad. Not a nice environment anymore and that’s why we’ll never be back. Big disappointment and shady business practices that resulted on us losing a month of rent $ and the opportunity to use the space we paid for!
DO NOT RECOMMEND. WORST PARK IN IDAHO.
Reading these reviews I don’t understand why every time my family and I come here we have a very bad experience. Tables are always dirty, service is very slow, food is okay… Last time we were there the owner was screaming at a guest from across the dining area. Very dirty, disorganized, management is EXTREMELY unprofessional. Let down!
