CCP serves the BEST Wings I’ve ever had, hands down! The Garlic Parmesan wings are excellent and the pizza is amazing as well (the Pinocchio is my favorite). We had great service and I highly recommend giving it a try.
Pizza was delicious, friendly staff and loved the live music… Definitely be returning!
Went for early dinner last Saturday. Food, drinks, staff were excellent. One of the best Italian dinners the wife and I have had since coming here from Chicago. 5 stars for sure. Will be having the pizza for dinner tonight.
Best pizza I’ve had in a while!!!
Prices resonable- friendly staff
Ordered via the website for delivery. 18″ pizza, just over $33 plus tip. Pizza missing pepperoni. Called to correct issue, they had no idea who delivers for them, nothing on their website, receipt or given to consumer. Issue was finally resolved (refunded cost of pepperoni) but for the price, which ended up at $30, it was VERY skimpy on the other toppings on half the pizza (mushrooms, olives) and the other half paid for extra cheese, questioning if I got any. Overall, mostly just a cheese pizza. This pizza was NOT worth the cost. It could have been, but quality failed.
I wanted to leave this review on Grubhub but it appears that they don’t allow it so I have to do it here. I always order at least an hour in advance because I know they take forever and cannot seem keep up with the in restaurant dining plus delivery orders so they tend to randomly cancel your delivery order hours after it was placed for reasons like “This restaurant only accepts cash”. This review is more of a warning to not order delivery through GrubHub unless you want to wait two hours and then have your order cancelled and be stuck with no dinner. I am giving Catalina Craft Pizza two stars because when you can actually get pizza from them it is good.
Order a calzone from here a 22.00 dollar . What a waste of money , it wasn’t even rolled out properly and hardly any ingredients inside , we not return to this place any longer
Ordered a Kitch’n Sink delivery. No amendments, as is. It was disappointing. A grease slick. The balance was all off. Way too much cheese, and too little sauce. The crust had a mysterious “texture”, heavy and chewy. I’m sure college kids would be happy with this, but they could do much much better if they had a lighter hand and improved the crust. The search for good pizza in Oro Valley doesn’t stop here unfortunately.
2. Chicago Music Store
Address: 45 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
This is the best Music Store west of the Mississippi!!
Easily the best music store I’ve ever been to! Took about 45 minutes to set up my guitar. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
Great store
I didn’t know this store moved down the street until after I pulled on the old locations door. The new location is a lot more organized and welcoming. What isn’t welcoming is the manager.
You will find almost anything you need at this store. What they don’t have they will be able to find the right thing for you. Need a new reed for your sax or strings for a guitar? You found the right place! Do you want to have a friendly conversation with the workers? Look elsewhere!
Very cramped space but they have lots of instruments and friendly staff. Very old school mom and pop feel. I’ve gone through them for school instruments for two of my children in band and recommend them.
The place is nice. People there will like to show you products that you want to see. I recently bought a guitar there. Downside is I felt the brand I was looking for was not available but eventually I bought something entirely different. Whether you buy or not, definitely check out the store. 4 stars out of 5.
I’ve never had a store raise its price on an instrument while I was holding it. The owner torn the tag so quickly I almost dropped the guitar. “miss priced” $295 to $795. Repair person joked I should have bought it while I had the chance. Super unprofessional.
So I returned to Tucson after 20+ years and a lot has changed. Chicago music store skimmed down from the corner brick and mortar super store to a scaled down Store front and that’s just fine. And the staff pleasant enough.
I was in the market for a telecaster and they had a few that looked promising. I picked one up and reached in my pocket for a pick, and shockingly, had none.
I asked the associate for a pick who said “sorry, no picks are allowed.”
Let that sink in. This wasn’t a vintage, artist owned, custom painted or even an American telecaster. It was a MIM standard and they wouldn’t let me play the guitar with a pick. I laughed at first because I thought he was joking but then I saw they actually had a SIGN stating no picks. They were dead serious and were trying to sell guitars without letting guitarists pick at them.
2 stars for surviving the online wars and guitar center and the nice guy who was embarrassed at this obvious bizarro policy but who tried to sell it to me by telling me I could plug it in to an amp. yeah that’s like trying to sell me a tv with the sound muted. Naw bro, I’m good…
I just moved from Nashville where my local music shop had a 68 Gibson j45 that I played like I owned it because as they said when I first inquired about the guitar and cost (6 grand), “play it. That’s why it’s there.”
Cmon on. You’re damn near a Tucson institution for gear. Policies like that alienate musicians and nothing more. I don’t even wanna know what happens if you wanna try to play the drums… Jazz sticks and a timer no doubt.
Ugh. Someone correct me and tell me that was a prank on me or something dumb they only did for a day….
I wish I didn’t have to give a bad review.
I hate saying anything negative about a local music shop, especially one who normally does so well with its customers, but I had an experience with their repair shop that is disappointing enough to take my business elsewhere.
I brought in an old trombone for a dent repair on the bell side, which yes they repaired quickly and at a good price.
But in the process they tried to adjust the slide and ended up knocking it so out of alignment it couldn’t slide back into 1st position.
When I pointed it out the tech made an attempt to bend it back to its original shape but unfortunately that only made it worse. after a few weeks in the case like that it ended up stuck shut.
I when I called the shop to look for a solution the tech said it wouldn’t be as simple as bending it back to shape, and instead quoted me a price to redo the slide, which is more than a new trombone would set me back
if I brought in a broken instrument and left with a broken instrument I could just accept it as a lost cause, but the horn played fine when I brought it in and is the only one I have.
I just brought it in for a cosmetic dent repair and I did not ask for the slide to be touched at all.
now I have to find a new repair shop or a new trombone, either way, I am disappointed by the outcome.
3. The Folk Shop
Address: 2525 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
My favorite shop in all of Tucson! Paul and Brenda and their staff have so much knowledge and experience. If they cannot sell you something that you need or repair something that you have, they know who can. A new treasure seems to find me on every visit. Maybe that is because Paul and Brenda know many of their customers and buy with them in mind. A wonderful place!
Awesome Store with Great Service! Wally fixed my guitar in record time and way to cheap!! Thanks a Million!
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Really glad I found this place. I also really appreciate the steps that taking to keep people safe during COVID.
This is a nice local folk music shop. If it had more choices I’d give it 5 stars, but a great place nevertheless.
This place needs a few more customers that are interested in older instruments. Nice people. Bought a older repaired guitar and gig bag. Perfect for someone who just wants to see if they like playing a guitar.
Cool little shop, not that wheelchair friendly but I was still able to get around. The staff I interacted with was very knowledgeable and helpful just looking for a harp for my daughter and he helped get it set up and answered all my questions and my daughters.
I am absolutely incredulous as to how condescendingly I was treated over the phone by this place. I arrived with my Taylor 312-CE looking to trade up and quite likely spend substantial chunk of money. I noticed the posting on the door that read (I may be paraphrasing) “masks required even for those vaccinated.” I have been twice jabbed with Pfizer, but no problem. I get it. I understand it. People may not be fully honest about their status and might contaminate others. I have zero issue complying with the policy The posting also read “do not knock; call to be granted entry” (again, I may be paraphrasing, but this was the gist). I keep a KN-95 with me in the car but couldn’t find it. Maybe it fell behind the seat or something. I ring their number. A woman answers. Convo goes like this: “Hi, I noticed you require masks even for the vaxxed, which I am fully, but I can’t seem to find mine here in my car….I’m here outside….do you happen to have any masks there inside the store that you could pass out to me”? (like logical, sensible merchants across town, the state, the country have in abundance in case you forgot or can’t find yours—sterile ones for the taking in boxes) “If not, I don’t live too far. I can run home, grab one and come back”. The woman on the phone raises her voice and says “NO YOU NEED TO WEAR A MASK” and abruptly hangs up!! Um, I think I got that part and more than amply communicated it back. Wow. And delivered with a tone of voice akin to Mrs. Gulch from Wizard of Oz. I was perfectly polite, acknowledged the policy and was willing to go out of my way to comply. This is not only ridiculously bad policy, but there was not even basic intelligible, lucid communication on her part. Not the conduct of a sound minded individual.
Now, for some background. I have never made any major purchases at Folk Shop. However, I have patronized them over years–even before I moved to Tucson. The first time, I was recording an album visiting from Austin in 2014 and needed a dobro capo. The engineer called around to Guitar Center and few other places. They didn’t even know what a dobro was, much less a dobro capo. Folk Shop to the rescue with a Paul Beard capo, just like the one I had forgotten and left back in TX! I’ve been there since for strings, straps, stainless steel slides etc. Never ever the slightest of problems. What happened today is totally inexcusable. I myself have been fastidious and a stickler about masking and distancing throughout the pandemic, but this kind of post-mandate fanaticism, illogic and outright meanness is beyond the pale. They certainly don’t want my money or any of my future business. To hell with this place. l’ll buy a guitar from Musician’s Friend before stepping foot in there, even though I prefer to shop locally.
Very rude disrespectful because I was asking for a part and I didn’t have a mask and I wasn’t trying to go in the place without permission and they were just very rude very very rude and I didn’t understand I was thrown off by it. Yelling at me for no reason all I wanted was a part I didn’t even try to go into shop told her I’d wait outside because I didn’t have a mask she slams door in my face. So I go get a mask and they won’t even deal with me I was the up most respectful and didn’t deserve that. Very very rude!!! I’ll never do business with them again.
Well, over the years I’ve bought, sold, and traded with Paul and really wouldn’t do so again. The last guitar I purchased there had broken tuner barrels and more important, his pricing and moods vary wildly. Certainly lots to look at, but no great shakes in terms of quality or pricing.
4. Music & Arts
Address: 8320 N Thornydale Rd Suite 150/170, Tucson, AZ 85741 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
Staff was very professional and helpful. Very clean and extremely organized store. I highly recommend to anyone looking to buy, rent, and learn an instrument.
Great customer service! I have purchased one guitar from this location already & will be purchasing a second guitar tomorrow! I have worked with two associates directly, “Heaven & Kara.”
Heaven, helped me with my purchase of an Epiphone ES 339.
Both, Heaven & Kara, have assisted me with my upcoming second purchase. Indirectly, another associate named, “Marty” has been involved in this second purchase.
I’d recommend the staff & this location to anyone from the beginner, to the more experienced player
Best music store in tuscon! Great prices. Wonderful service over the phone and in store. I definitely recommend this store.
Just want to say that I am a fan of this store. I think they do a great job at helping people find what they are looking for and have them leaving satisfied with their musical purchases. With that being said, I want to make a point that only having one store closer is unsafe. Multiple times in the past year I have heard of there being theft. I’m concerned for the employees’ safety and customer safety.
Protect your employees! They make the company money!
Friendly and helpful staff! Clean and distance with masks observed! Awesome place to learn music as well as purchase quality music products.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
I used to be loyal customer for years. Howerver, M&A’s new strategy of “Paperless receipts”, requires that I provide my email address for a purchase. Their “paperless reciept” excuse is nothing more than a strategic excuse to obtain email addresses so they can spam. When I stated I do not provide my email, they refused to sell me a service. I have since found a local music store that is more friendly and will no longer use M&A.
I was very unhappy with the way this store sold us an instrument after we rented one for over two years. We qualified for the rental credit and it was given to us. The problem was that they valued the used rental instrument at $800+ and they sell the same one brand new for about $470. The reason they do that is that there is a clause that states that when using the rental credit one must buy an instrument that cost the same or more than the rental so they jack up the value of the rental. We were told that we couldn’t buy the flute we had been renting and could not get a new flute because it wasn’t equal or more value to the one we had been renting per terms of our agreement. They said that our only option was to purchase a used refurbished flute from the warehouse and it would be sent to us. We feel that this is a very shady way to do business. Not recommended. Updated; Thank you for your reply too, owner of the store. I have already sent an email but thanks for suggesting it.
The worst place ever.. Always pay my rental before its do and yet still get notices in the mail saying not paid.. They never get the billing correct.. I even got a collection letter 2 months after I even returned the instrument in and have proof of paid in full yet they say it was a computer problem.. This place sucks.. Never doing business with them again..

6. Instrumental Music Center Speedway
Address: 7063 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85710 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
Super nice and helpful staff. Very informative and knowledgeable. Thanks for helping us with what to buy and how to use items for my son to play violin!!
The best customer service you could hope for.
My daughter takes Ukelele lessons here and her instructor, Logan, is pretty awesome. They’ve got you covered as far as band instruments and a great selection of guitars.
Decent selection and staff very knowledgeable
They have it all, drums, pianos, guitars, saxophones. It’s super friendly staff, very chill and helpful. If you get an instrument buy the insurance for it, especially if it’s for a kid. Worth every penny.
Good selection, but the prices are definitely higher than you find online.
When I called to ask how much it would cost to replace violin strings, they said it was free and that I would only be charged for the new strings themselves. But when I brought the violins in, they charged me $25 per violin. Then, after a few days of practice on the newly stringed violins, one (of the two) violins irreparably broke at the base where the strings would attach, likely because they had negligently applied too much force in replacing the strings. In all, I paid them almost $100 to ruin one of my violins, which cost me $400 to replace. They are liars and at least when it comes to violins, they are also incompetent.
This bad review concerns Maria Ferraz, piano teacher. Our initial meeting seemed positive and I felt comfortable with her with my three year old son. To make sure he was ready to be taught piano, according to her, we set another appointment the following Saturday. This time she wasn’t as nice and patient. I was outside the room while she stayed in the room with my son. To begin, my son is three. He is a very curious boy. This particular day he wasn’t wanting to sit and learn. As I peeled through the window, I saw Maria force his little hand to play the piano. My son resisted and just sat there staring up. She then yells at him, “What are you looking at? What are you looking at?” She turned to see if I was standing there and she just nodded her head. I opened the door and grabbed my son.
I also want to point out that she has a lot of pictures, posters, just stuff in her tiny room enough to distract anyone much more a three year old. Also, if she doesn’t have the patience it takes to teach a three year old, then you shouldn’t advertise that you do. And lastly, you have no right to yell at my son or any child who doesn’t have the ability to fully comprehend what is happening, what you are asking, or able to express his emotions with proper vocabulary to answer your ridiculous questions!
Beware of this woman and always keep an eye on your child when you are not in the room.
Not pleased at all. I called ahead to get instruments repaired and was told it would be two weeks. I drove to drop off instruments and asked if I could have them done a few days sooner. I was told the repair person is taking a vacation and it would be 3 weeks. But, if I wanted to pay double, I could have it done sooner. What a scam! I will never do business with this music store.
7. Chicago Music Store
Address: 5646 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85712 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
I had good experiences with Chicago music store both when I was young music student and when I was teaching elementary band and orchestra. Love supporting a local store!
The Chicago music store carries instruments that most stores in the area don’t carry. The instruments are reasonably priced and they offer a good payment plan. I ordered a Yamaha piano for my children’s Christmas gift and had it on layaway at their store. I called the manager, Mark Levkowitz, and he drove to the Chicago store on Speedway to meet me, on Christmas Eve in order to give me the piano, after hours, when the store was closed. Very dedicated customer service! Especially on Christmas Eve in the dark.
Staff are friendly, are helpful and knowledgeable. My son is on the Pride of Arizona and UofA Pep band. He felt comfortable conversing and was a plus because the staff knew exactly what he needed.
I talked to jim the repair guy and he was super helpful and knew exactly what I was talking about.
Great service, Mark and his team were really helpful!
Everyone was nice wish they would have returned the product I purchased tho.
This a terrible place to rent from. The guy in charge is sleazy and pushy.
Wouldn’t recommend, music is suppose to be fun and the tall white guy doesn’t leave you alone. Let people play in peace. I’ll be going to guitar center where they let you express yourself.
Worst Music Store in Tucson. Don’t ever buy from them.
8. Metro Gnome Music
Address: 4044 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85712 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
Great deals inside the store, also great music studio space next door for rent with secure code locked doors.
Great people and prices.
Staff was welcoming, helpful and products were fantastic. Gem of a variety store
Ya know I’ve been here a few times! It’s quite an interesting experience in so far as they sell and service a variety of musical instruments but also house another business. A business you probably wouldn’t consider would be here! What is it you might well ask! And so I’ll tell ya since you asked so politely. Well this other biz is a bicycle sales biz! Ya I know, right? Well I go there for the guitars , amps, effects, and also a guitar repair guy with his own space right there in the store?! Well I was hoping to locate a couple of parts to repair a Fender amp for a bandmate of my son! Well, as luck would have it the repair dude, sorry I didn’t get his name, although he didn’t have the electronic stuff I needed he did take a minute to give me a phone number for a guy who might! VERY cool!! Also I was needing a couple of the Fender ” top hat” knobs! So he goes to some of those cabinets that have the small plastic drawers and digs me up a couple of knobs in real good shape!! So I , ask him how much and he thinks on it awhile and says how ’bout $1 and I say, each? And he goes no for both!! That was awesome and really I expected to give more for them! All in all, I really like those guys at Metronome! Fun store, great people!! If you’re over at Speedway just East of Alvernon, South side of street you should stop in, say Hi and be pleasently surprised at what they have to offer and their level of customer service! You know that thing you don’t get much of anymore!!!! Thanks for listening, Tommy
Good selection, helpful staff, great rental rates, in-store repairs.
Unique
When Selling, be Sure to look up your item on all price levels to know your stuff b4 going in or Todd will be sure to set-up his search to show you the least offer poss since he “Don’t know what a used instrument” like yours sells for.
1st time= Shame on You
2nd time= Shame on Me.. there won’t be a 2nd time.
They sold me a C trumpet that needed far more repairs than described. It had messy soldering all over it and a 2nd valve slide that was way to long(It was a generic slide someone had previously done a bad repair job on). I’m not sure if this is typically just a guitar shop or what, but wind players, avoid this place. I ended up selling the horn for way less than I paid, because no reasonable person would pay what I did after seeing it up close. Ended up buying a new one from a very knowledgeable store in San Jose. Lost about $400 when all was said and done, but at least I have a horn that functions without needing a copious number of repairs.
Will Rip You Off
9. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 2150 E Tangerine Rd, Oro Valley, AZ 85755 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
The cleanest and most organized Walmart I have ever been in!
Good. Really good!
A clean and friendly Wal Mart!
I really don’t like Walmart. Too much cheap stuff and all made in china. However I’m giving it 3 stars because it’s always there if you need something last minute.
So glad Walmart is restricting some ammunition’s sales. While not a big fan of what super stores do to Mom and pop shops… I commend Walmart for this action and will shop in their food sections which have great values.
Need more cashiers. Self check out takes jobs from people. Needs to stop moving things around. Just when you memorize where things are they change thing totally around. Prices are high and services is way down.
This is a story that’s nearly unbelievable. I went into Walmart to purchase puppy potty training pads about a month ago. When I got home and opened the box, it did not contain potty training pads. It contained a foam material that you would find on a mattress or under carpet and it was soiled. That’s right, dirty and soiled blue foam. I went to return this, and the best they could do was tell me to fill out the survey on the return receipt. I did that, and received a call from the manager, Alan. I tried multiple times to call back since I got the call during work hours but it has been impossible to get in touch with anybody who can make this right. Disgusting.
I usually come here a lot, but today I was accused of STEALING. I have never stolen, I am not a thief and the employee seemed to be dumbfounded when she realized I did not steal anything. Terrible service. I have money just like you, lady. I have no reason to steal. I will be calling a manger.
Too dark
10. Quigtone Music & Supply
Address: 234 E, AZ-260, Payson, AZ 85541 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
Rick was very knowledgeable and tends to his customers needs. I’m very impressed.
Hello, I take lessons here and they are awesome!!!
Ric is friendly and very knowledgeable. Lessons and repairs and rentals available. Reasonable prices.
For a small town store front music store Ric totally delivers with a wide selection of quality instruments, equipment and quality customer based service. If he doesn’t have it in stock, he will the distance to get you what you want or need.
I highly recommend Quigtone to everyone.
11. Apple La Encantada
Address: 2905 E Skyline Dr, Tucson, AZ 85718 , Catalina , Arizona , United States
One of the best customer service places ive ever been to…
Fast and good customer service
I’ve been here a couple of times and have always had my questions answered, and the customer service is top notch!
To get new Apple products can find all there and compare.
Staff is very knowledgeable and most of the time helps you out or stays with you to find a solution that is best for the customer. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t but at least they try. One time however I felt very marginalized.. so I guess it depends who is working and who you get to see. Wncironment and surrounding Location is great even though there should be one more centrally located in Tucson.
Staff was nice. Limited access due to Covid-19. Appointment only, no walk-ins. Was here just for an online pickup so in and out.
Nobody helps you or even tries to get you checked in. Waited 15 mins and still nobody tried to check me in. They all dgaf apparently. Store manager has some training to do or new staff to hire. Don’t bother in store is waste of time just order online from someone else. Maybe Samsung
Alas, no ‘geniuses’ to be found @ this location! I received rude, uninformed, service from an arrogant twentysomething. When she couldn’t answer my question she advised me to step aside and use one of the computers lining the wall to google my problem. Really!?!
Apple is a RIP off , they lie to you straight in your face while smiling at you telling you how they value your business!
