We shopped for a piano teacher and knew that Ms Fotis would be a perfect fit for our daughter when we met her. Her classes are well structured and organized with binders that young children can follow and use easily. She is patient and nurturing as she encourages, yet holds the student to an appropriate and high standard. And she is fun! Kids find her engaging and delightful. Highly recommend.
Ms. Fotis is an outstanding piano teacher. What sets her apart is her incredible ability to connect with her students. She makes learning the piano fun and rewarding while also being very rigorous in her approach. That’s such a rare combination in today’s music teaching world!
Life changing piano experience for our now 17 year old. Can’t recommend Linda highly enough!!
Very rude, but it looks like she only takes a certain type of student anyway.
I asked for AM availability, & she didn’t answer my question at all. Just promptly pushed me away.

Rok is a fantastic teacher! He’s patient yet firm when necessary. My son has improved by leaps and bounds. Most importantly, Rok makes piano fun!
Dr. Palçic is a fantastic teacher: sympathetic, knowledgeable, and kind. Our kids love him and have made great progress with their piano and their general musicianship. Would recommend him, and this music school, very highly!
My 8-year old and teenager both take piano lessons with Rok at Chevy Chase Music and they both enjoy it very much. Rok is an expert pianist and an educator who understands kids well and can adjust to their moods and different personalities. He is also patient and flexible which we appreciate.

I work here as a piano and strings teacher and it’s super welcoming. The most special thing here is how welcoming it is for neurodiverse individuals such as myself and the students that I teach. I love my students and am absolutely fulfilled every time I see their faces light up when they learn a musical concept.
I teach children as young as four but I see other teachers that teach people who are retired. It’s LGBT Friendly, Neurodiverse friendly, the most racially diverse place I have ever worked. I am so glad I work here instead of in the public school system. Here I am respected and loved by my students, their families and my bosses.
They are rude and not kids-friendly at all. One time, my daughter and I got there about 30 mins earlier than her lesson. My daughter wanted to check in before we get something to eat. On our walk to their door, I realized their strict mask policy. My daughter had already hers on so I was going to let her in first while I search for a mask in my car. Before we opened their door, the owner barged out yelling at us that my daughter was 30 mins early and that she was not going to babysit my daughter. I asked her who she was. She said she was the owner. I found the experience very unpleasant and decided to send my daughter to a different school.
7. The Violin House Of Weaver
Address: 4706 Highland Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814 , Chevy Chase , District of Columbia , United States
I went to Weaver’s for a new violin tailpiece, but found all new ones for sale are for ball end E strings (We only have loop end E string at home). However, Mr. Weaver went back and found a good used one for us! We greatly appreciate it because otherwise we had to purchase extra E strings. He gave it to us without charge and offered, if we need help to install, he would be happy to do it for us, free of charge! Though my daughter installed everything by herself (she likes to figure things out by herself), we greatly appreciate the help Mr. Weaver offered!
I bought my cello from here many many years ago and I called to ask for some help with it and Mr. Weaver himself answered and went out of his way to help me. Thank you so much! Good to see a small business that still provides great service. You won’t go wrong coming here.
Bill Weaver is a great person who has a passion for violins, violas, and cellos. He is patient, friendly, and have us a great deal.
Easiest review ever !! Steven B. made me feel very comfortable as soon as I walked in. He is really invested in making you a better singer and really cares about giving you the proper tools to understand your voice. His studio is very comfortable and easy to get to. I can’t wait to continue lessons with him because I know I am only going to improve. He is extremely knowledgeable and offers a different perspective and approach to singing !
We wanted our children to learn the piano and it was an added plus that the lessons were taught in your home. We selected Sara’s company without any referrals or checking previous reviews. We selected well! Awesome company. Awesome teacher. You cannot go wrong with this business.
Robinson’s voice lessons have been a game-changer for me. His expertise and patient guidance have helped me become a more confident and skilled singer. Robinson provides targeted exercises and valuable feedback that have expanded my vocal range and improved my technique. He’s a fantastic teacher, and I highly recommend Robinson for voice lessons.
I was hesitant to try online guitar lessons, but this instructor totally changed my mind. He’s got a knack for connecting with his students and making them feel comfortable and confident. Plus, his lessons are always engaging and challenging.

The best, these guys are consummate pros, always a pleasure to work with.
Had a great time recording in The Miles Davis Room of Clean Cut Studio. Such a smooth process with directions for entry and for recording. The sound engineer, Harry was so dope to work with-patient, clear with technique and expectations, and not to mention considerate of everyone’s talents and time! I’m looking forward to the next project!
Excellent experience
A little off the beaten path, but friendly studio located in a News Station.

The staff and atmosphere are absolutely amazing, they go above and beyond in trying to help you find the books you’re looking for.
Great selection kind workers
Great selections
Selection is good, but often full of pretentious people and it can’t match Amazon. Cafe often smells bad.
Muy conveniente
They keep printing Octavia E Butler books with missing pages and pages inserted in the wrong order. So much for using a printing machine.
Staff clueless about events. Advertised that Michelle Obama would be “signing” her book, only to be told just “meet & greet,” no pictures, no signing, after standing in line 3 hours.
Too many Bernie bros here

So glad that I found this shop after my son’s violin was damaged at school. Bethesda Violins not only fixed it for a fraction of what I was being quoted elsewhere, but gave my son a beautiful loaner to use in the interim for free! If you’re looking to repair, buy, or rent, this is the place for you!
The owner is a very good person. My daughter is undergoing a bone marrow transplant at NIH and is her for 100 days. My other daughter comes with me to visit every few weeks. Bethesda Violins was kind enough to rent us a violin at no charge while we are here so that my daughter doesn’t fall behind on her schoolwork. It’s so great to have kind and generous people here to help us during this time.
I recently rented from Bethesda Violins while visiting family in the area on holiday. I was very pleasantly surprised with the sound quality of the violins at their price point. Playing for ten years growing up, I had played on lot of violins with varying quality. The new violin I rented from Bethesda had sound quality almost as good as a hundred-year-old violin I used to play on. It made picking up the instrument for the first time in four years much easier, and very enjoyable. (Also, excellent quality of service)

Such a beautiful place. If you appreciate musical instruments, this is a place to pay a visit.
These guys are great! They have an awesome collection of instruments. They were really helpful without being salesy at all. We hung out for about 3 hours playing every guitar in the store, and ended up going home with a couple of beautiful Breedlove’s. This place is exactly what I want in a music store.
Great store, wish there were more like it, rather than the impersonal online or cookiecutter stores that don’t stock high quality instruments. The people that work here are genuinely interested in music and the instruments they have.
I had rated this place two stars when I left my lap steel to be repaired and it took a couple of months to even get the status. Turns out the guy who does repairs only comes by every couple of weeks and decided to skip a visit. Then when he did pick it up, my instrument was last in line behind a big backlog. Despite being assured of a call, I never got one. When I called House of Musical Traditions to see what was going on, they had no idea.
So I got the number of the repair guy and called him directly. Once the middleman was out of the picture, the process went smoothly. He did a great job replacing the pegs and the price was reasonable.
I upgraded the review to three stars because I’m over my annoyance and love the cool instruments and laid-back atmosphere of this shop. There is no place like it in the DC area that I know of. Or anywhere in the world that I’ve come across, for that matter. The guys who run it are super nice. Generous about letting you fool around with the instruments. Just don’t expect prompt or attentive service if you leave something to be repaired.
One of the guys was very nice and helpful. What I don’t like is that the store lacks of merchandise, and the prices are a bit high.
I initially had a negative experience here with one of the staff members. I thought it was unusual to have such a off-putting experience at a boutique music shop — having travelled to many boutique music shops across the country I almost always leave feeling like it was a great experience — great instruments, great atmosphere, and great friendly helpful staff. I figured maybe it was a bad day or something.
Since my initial experience here was surprisingly negative I contacted the owner, David. My comments and concerns were all well received — in fact we were both in perfect agreement about what went wrong and how the situation should have been handled.
Having said all of the above, the rest of my experience was perfect. Another staff member who I spoke to was helpful and answered questions I had about mountain dulcimers as well as high end guitars. The instrument selection is vast and the staff seem knowledgable.
After having spoken to the owner about the issue, I now recommend this store.
My wife brought in two dulcimers into the store for repair in roughly mid-April. The person charged with making the repairs duly notified my wife by e-mail on April 24th that he could fix one of the dulcimers, but the other was not worth the time and effort to fix. My wife responded that she understood, but the unfixable dulcimer held a huge amount of sentimental value to her.The Repairer notified my wife that he would repair the one dulcimer and would return the other dulcimer to the store to return to us. My wife then went into the store last week to pick up both dulcimers. The store clerk or manager, Justin, said he threw the unfixable dulcimer away. He stated there was a note in their system authorizing him to do so. This was in fact false, as my wife’s communication with the Repairer explicitly state otherwise. Justin later admitted that there was a mix up, and they inadvertently threw our dulcimer away when it was another customer who had given permission to throw theirs away. This mix up has resulted in the loss of an instrument that held immense sentimental value to my wife and can never be replaced. We are bereft at this loss and appalled by the incompetence of the staff who would throw away a customer item without permission.
This store repairs accordion microphone inputs since I have a condenser microphone, it is two microphones in one but when you connect the tip or plug as is normally done, only one microphone sounds the one on the grill but the one with the bass does not if I take it out in the middle more or less work the two microphones can repair this or what would be the problem in advance I hope your help thanks
I left my harmonium with House of Musical Traditions on Jan 4, 2014 – ticket number 458050. The issue was simple – a few reeds would stick and I thought the seal in the air chamber may need new seals. I was supposed to be called after an evaluation with an estimate by the technician John Bell. I was never called with an estimate even though my business card was stuck inside the instrument. After calling several time with no status, I was told to send an e-mail to the technician. Though this e-mail was sent on Feb 28, 2014 I received no response. All of a sudden, I received a call on March 11, 2014 that my instrument was ready and the bill was $80. I picked it up the same day. I did talk to John on the phone and he told me he had opened the bottom to examine the air chamber. He kept telling me the instrument was old. Though it appeared to sound okay, after I came home I found that the scale changing mechanism no longer worked — it had been fixed in place at a lower scale than I would ever use. The instrument appeared to have been completely disassembled and then reassembled with poor workmanship. I was stunned. I called John and left a message to call me back. Now that the instrument is useless, I have to try to restore it myself. I find it hard to believe that anyone would do this to an instrument without ever asking permission from the owner.
