The guys at least frets are just great!! I can’t say this more. They provide great prices, quality work, highly knowledgeable, and provide a great chill friendly atmosphere. As my first time dealing with them and them repairing two of my guitars in a timely manner they not only did that but did super solid work can’t be more happier
Professional! That is the one word I would use to describe this business. Bryon was knowledgeable, helpful and best of all did a fantastic job replacing the nut on my Martin. I wish I had known about this place a long time ago. I will be going here from now on for all my guitar repair needs.
Great spot, super amount of knowledge and experience with repairs among other services. Same problem everybody else has with out of stock items here and there.
Nice, friendly environment. This guys is experienced in his craft and genuine in the way he conducts business. A rare find these days.
Dishonest and lazy. He has earned that distinction with me after implying that I attempt to make and sell a counterfeit guitar on the market. His boundaries are not clear. He should have refused the work order instead of hemming and hawing trying to teach me a lesson in trademark infringement. I also hired him to put Seymour Duncans in a Squire. When I called him for progress report he said he was “working on it now”. I go back 2 weeks later and the Seymour Duncans hadn’t even arrived yet. I have no trust in dishonest and lazy people. Oh, and Bryon, please dont call me about this post. If you’re a good luthier, I suggest you keep your nose in the workshop out of site from the customers.
I took my 2001 Les Paul to Bryon and Dave in February 2019 for a basic set up. I bought it new and always stored it in the case and very rarely had it out. Very careful with it. The guitar only had one very small blemish on the front. When I got it back it had several deep dents on top edge close to the back and a couple dents in the back itself. They swear they did not damage it but I know for a fact it wasn’t damaged when I dropped it off. I had just polished it before I took it there. Bryon had promised it would be ready Saturday the 23RD and it was not. He then told me it would be ready the following Monday which it was. I’m not sure if they just got in a hurry or what exactly happened but they pointed to the paperwork stating they were not responsible for any damage…. Not a good way to run a business. I should have inspected it and made note of any defect with them before dropping it off. Lesson learned!!!
Took a vintage martin guitar for repair. Ended up with a bad experience. I’ll just leave it at that.

Great store! Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and I’ve never had a bad experience there. You can’t go wrong shopping at Palmer Music!
Preston has gathered an amazing team of instructors that love music and creating the next generation of musicians. Any instrument you wish to learn they can teach it and Tyler keeps it all running smoothly.
If I lived directly beside a Guitar Center location hours away from Palmer, I would still drive to Palmer. I’ve bought multiple guitars from them, take lessons there, the works. Customer service is killer, great store layout for both lessons and retail. No notes.
Talked to Joey in the store today. He took some time to help me plan for an upcoming purchase for our church. They have a large selection of all kinds of musical instruments and they do lessons, as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks, Joey!
I was looking at electric guitars and they didn’t offer to let me plug any of them in. How are you truly going to know if you like one or not if you can’t hear the sound.
My guitar was in for repairs for about 4 months. Almost no communication was provided about status of the repair work. It’s understandable with Covid making it difficult to have parts shipped, but the lack of adequate communication was uncomfortably disappointing. I don’t blame the young individual who was working on my guitar, but rather leadership who should have provided direction on appropriate and timely customer service communication. It doesn’t matter to me that it would have taken considerable time for repairs. But the lack of communication stating that due to a backlog in parts, and it was just a waiting game, would have been enough. A 30 second phone call every couple of weeks or so to advise a customer that no progress has been made is better than nothing…it would have been enough to have left my guitar there for months longer. The ironic thing about all this is that I really like the store and the people at Palmer Music, so I will most likely continue to purchase my music supplies from them and I hope my experience there was a one-off….
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.

Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff, management, and even owner! They always know what I need and have what I need.
Awesome local music store with a variety of instruments and equipment
Everything about this store and it’s people are incredible. Greg Geroy has tons of experience and knowledge about the business. He has helped our business with our sound and equipment needs and always provides professional service and reasonable rates. His staff is friendly and equally knowledgable. Do yourself a favor and check out this awesome business!
Friendly people, prices seem fair, selection was good.
Good people. Good service.
Nice friendly staff
Very rude to my wife and all she did was ask a queston please don’t do business with these people we don’t need rude people in this town.
They are selling stolen property.
Great home town store
9. Renown Music
Address: 104 W F Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Cholchol , Arkansas , United States
I have been going to Renown music for about a year now. They are fair on their prices. Brandon really cares about his customers. Here’s the thing. There is an employee there named Bob who did my setup from my American Strat. I have had issues with the Strat for about 10 years and I thought about selling it. I took it to Renown music and Bob got the fret buzz out and also set it up with a very low action. Which I thought was impossible. The intonation was perfect! I was shocked on what a really good setup can do for your guitar. The guitar has never played and sounded so good!
I highly recommend Renown Music. They did great work! Great work and great people!
I’d like to add that Brandon in particularly was personable, professional and his work no only met but actually exceeded my high expectations. I’m a professional musician and I can’t wait to go to work because Renown Music made My guitar beautiful!
Renown Music has been exactly what I needed to learn to play the guitar. The price was right, and they were incredibly flexible with my schedule. I’d happily recommend them to anybody looking for lessons.
10. Guitar Center
Address: 12315 Chenal Pkwy A, Little Rock, AR 72211 , Cholchol , Arkansas , United States
Most of the salesman a very helpful asking you if you need help when you’re basically just browsing
Guitar Center, generally speaking, is one of a number of companies that is no longer a ‘mom and pop’ store, essentially. I’ll tell ya why here in a minute or three. More or less, they have pretty much what you’re looking for. Albeit, they’re the only store in town who has what you need. Now and again, some stores, somewhere, have some of the same stuff. But, invariably, it’s a pawn shop, more or less. So, you may buy strings and/or a used variety of the equipment you may get for most often a relatively, decent break in price. Though, not new is it. Now, some of the time, I’ve run into good salesman and good helpers at Guitar Center. For the most part, they’re adequate. By and large, I wanted to explain the one time I came at 8:59 and they closed at 9:00. I openly suggested they just put ONE E string under the door they they’d locked a minute before closing. The string was something like 2.13 cents. I even offered three bucks so they could leave a note for the people in the morning, on the books, that they’d helped out another player. I needed that string and had a gig that evening. They wouldn’t do it! Yes, they actually turned away sales that evening. It wasn’t a big deal. I even gave them a way out. But oh no, for Pete’s sake, their books would have been off that nite! Hmm, kind of sounds like I had that problem figured out from the beginning, myself. Who knows, perhaps the battle of the bands were playing for little old me and maybe they thought they would get an edge! I don’t know I don’t care. Of course they weren’t playing (the battle of the bands) but it just reminds me of the way things used to be and the way things are now. Ain’t that a shame.
Super busy and it appeared that no one wanted to help.
Lacking! And not tied to the community, it screams SMALL TOWN MUSIC store and not Guitar Center
Called to make sure they had a lap Steel Guitar. That was on sale for 99 bucks in their online site. They had a hard time figuring out what a lap steel guitar is. They told me they don’t stock them but they would have to order it. I then could drive the 90 miles to pick it up. I always try to buy local but most of the time I’m told to go somewhere else to buy or they will order it . I already knew I could buy it for a little less through
(Musician’s Friend ) online without taxes and free shipping. I ordered it and will get it in a couple days for less. So much for local it’s a sad thing when they don’t care .
11. Saied Music Company
Address: 2921 Lakewood Village Dr, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Cholchol , Arkansas , United States
Really cool place to look around and have a lots of books, drums and other stuff for band type instruments.
Good variety. Little bit of everything
Nice people. A little pricey. Mainly for band students but they do have some sound equipment, just not a huge selection.
A few months ago, I visited Saied Music’s North Little Rock location to look into used flutes (online flutes are too hit-or-miss, I discovered, so I wanted to be able to try one before buying). Not wanting to spend a small fortune on an instrument I wasn’t sure I’d stick with, I figured used would be a safe bet.
The gentleman who was working that day showed me a Jupiter flute that had a price tag of $380 or $385 (I just distinctly remember it being in the $380 range). It had a head joint with a gold-plated lip plate that I found rather garish, but for the price, I was willing to consider it once I tried it and realized it played fairly easily. So, I went home to think on it, but I ultimately put off getting a flute for awhile.
Yesterday, I returned, and lo and behold, they had the same flute still in stock. However, this time a different guy brought it out, and the price had been removed, leaving only a partial green tag with some text on it. The man made a fairly loud show of talking to the other guy, who had originally showed it to me the first time I saw it, saying that, since it had a green tag, he could sell it for below the “book price.” He thumbed through a binder, ran his finger down a list of prices, and landed on $480. Then, he quoted me $450, saying that price was $30 below list.
I immediately thought of the scene in Legally Blonde when the clothing boutique worker pulls a tag off a dress from last season and tries to sell it to Elle for a huge mark-up, believing her to be too uninformed to know any better.
I closed the case without taking another look, then left the store without saying another word.
I lost all trust in Saied Music in that instant, and I will not return.
Not very much guitar stuff. Didn’t even have strap studs.
The absolute worst store ive ever been in will not be back
12. Clarinda’s Crafts & Music
Address: 3 Trina Loop, Greenbrier, AR 72058 , Cholchol , Arkansas , United States
Bought an excellent sounding, sweet mandolin from Clarinda at a very reasonable price.
Well now Clarinda is the gal to do business with and maybe learn a thing or two about that special instrument you’ve been looking for. Even if you’re not player. Yet.
Inspiration is where it all starts. You’ll need a quality instrument that is comfortable to you ear and to wear. Because after all, that instrument you’re wearing is a part of you. Linked right to your heart. That’s it. Music.
Clarinda has good taste. Her selection of instruments are about the best values you’ll find. Value. Clarinda’s knowledge of selection. An instrument you’ll look forward to playing. Her personal attention to detail makes all the difference.
I bought 1 Loar LM-700-VS mandolin from Clarinda. I wanted a pick up installed. No problem. Done. I also bought an original version stock Loar LM-700-VS. Plugged in or not these mandolins are top notch! Will knock down your doors and the dogs will come runnin’ in! So to speak… couldn’t be happier. – Steve Kletzel – In Portland Oregon
Bought a beautiful Loar LM-600 from Clarinda. Great set up, great playing mandolin and a great price.
