Great customer service. Friendly staff. They always know what theyre talking about. If they dont have what youre looking for they will order it. I would rather go here and support local businesses than big name stores.
We have been shopping and taking lessons here for years. LOVE the friendly atmosphere. My son’s instructor is TOP notch. Their selection is terrific – a Fender dealer 🙂 and their sales staff is very knowledgeable. Frequently there are customers trying out the equipment and small jam sessions spring up. They have an open mic the first Saturday of each month which is tons of fun.
Great selection and prices. Staff was super friendly and helpful
Left them guitar to glue the neck, the estimation was way above market, that’s OK. I’ve decided to go to other store but during pick up I found scratches here and there. Lucky me-made a video when I did bring a guitar the 1st time. I am just disappointed- waste a month and no result. They did polish and removed scratches (not all as I found out in another store). Not a bad store with various instruments new and used, I even bought a bass, but I do not trust their guitar master. Rick is a good guy but the master is a 3rd party that occasionally appears and takes guitars home, where I guess and damage mine.
Rick was warm & friendly & it seems to have a nice stock of instruments. Tucked in the corner of the Staples building so it’s easy to drive right by without seeing it. Very little sheet music for vocalists so if that’s what your looking for don’t bother. They have an open mic night every 1st Saturday so I will come to one & see what it’s like.
Their pricing is ridiculous. $250 for a used Ibanez acoustic that’s missing the electronics? That guitar sells for $350 brand new!! Also, after reading the reviews, I would bet $100 that most of the 5 star reviews were made up by the owner. Absolutely pathetic.
I wish I could shop here, I try to come at night and there closed before posted hours. I try to come on a Thursday at 11am, still closed when posted they open at 10:30. Must not want business.
Long drive for nothing…called in advance to ask if they had what I was looking for available, “yeah, come in and check them out” is what I was told. I even looked online to see what was available. Got to the store and the music was Soo loud! The guy finally came over to help and actually had no real knowledge what so ever about the product he was trying to sell. I went out of my way to avoid a big box store and shop local..a MUSIC STORE and I knew more about the product from what I had scoured on google/Amazon.
Ended up ordering something on Amazon as a shot in the dark at least it had data I could go off of.
Would never suggest stopping in for any music needs. Sad.
3. Guitar Center
Address: 7736 N Kendall Dr, Kendall, FL 33156 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Every time I go to that particular Guitar Center, I am greeted warmly and they facilitate all my needs. The manager at that location knows how to train his employees
I was there to find a gift for my son, a Ukelele, the place was neat, and I was helped by Mario, which have incredible knowledge and point me on the right direction, thanks again to Mario
Very open
Great help
No star at all ,I usually don’t come to guitar center but I decided to change was I wrong,I I wanted to pay for something that I have bought but trying to pay you two different cards and they wouldn’t go through I understand is the computer but a young blonde lady they took care of me was very rude she told me there was my cards and I said didn’t try another register didn’t try another way , basically kicking me out I feel offended never coming here again going back to Sam ash Where do you know how to treat people this guitar center in Kendall They don’t value their customers
Limited selection, high guitar lesson prices, slow customer service, no external signage so easy to miss, prices are reasonable
No one working in the percussion section and not a single employee competent enough to answer simple questions regarding percussion. Customer service is non-existent.
4. Musical Instrument Exchange & Repair
Address: 41 SE Kindred St, Stuart, FL 34994 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Very knowledgeable. Owner is super nice guy. Drops everything to solve whatever problems I’ve brought in to him. Turnaround on repairs is lightning fast. Only guy on the treasure coast I trust to work on my basses.
Roy and Ron are Friendly, Honest and Competent Men. Wish I knew about this store sooner. You won’t be disappointed when you use their services!
Real nice people who love what they do, a real great shop
5. CornerStone Music, LLC
Address: 798 W Montrose St, Clermont, FL 34711 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
The employees were personable, knowledgeable, resourceful, and extremely helpful. They genuinely cared about my needs and experience, and also offered to special order something for me. Their prices were very reasonable. If I could I would give them a 10 out of 5.
This is The Place for All your Musical needs ! Wonderful and caring People ! Great Deals and the Best Service any where Bar None !!!
I’ve never come across a better music store. Period. From the moment you walk in you are treated like family. The selection is top of the line. Customer service is through the Stratocasterphere. They have some of the best collection of guitars in the entire world. Support your local music shop!!!!!! Recommended!!!
Good place to take care of your musical needs
Really nice guys!
I recently had them repair my 1972 Guild acoustic. Great work and it plays much better! Thanks for all of their work
For the several thousands of dollars my family has spent at this business, I expect Pete to be friendly/pleasant towards us(at the very least), for life, but he clearly can’t maintain that. He started acting rude towards my mom some years back, and now me. For no apparent reason. I hope that keeping that sour attitude of yours is worth losing 20+ year customers who often went out of their way to spend money at your establishment and stay local. Weird way to treat people who earned you money. Avoid. He’s one of those guys who thinks everyone is a “democrat”. Super solid reason to push customers away.
6. Villano Music and Music Lessons
Address: 205 9011 Park Blvd, Seminole, FL 33777 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Gave great advice on the repair of my guitar strings. The owner (Mr.Villano), made helpful and insightful suggestions. Very knowledgeable!
Excelente
My experience with Mr. Villano recently was quite memorable. I needed a family member’s guitar restrung-I did not have any reference but liked what I read on the website so after calling to inquire pricing and hours I took the guitar to his shop on a Friday. He let me know the additional touch ups that he would do aside from the strings. The strap also needed to be re-placed and upon his suggestion I agreed. Mr Villano called me the next day to let me know it was ready! I could tell the difference as soon as he took it out of the case! I don’t play guitar but have always appreciated a ‘fine tuned’ instrument. He also shared with me the history of this particular guitar which was quite interesting! I appreciated the quick turn around and cannot wait for my brother-in-law to pick it up and play!
Thankyou!
Barb Mc.
It would be nice if they open when they say they will be open…
Nice staff. Small inventory
I called to ask what thier business hours were on a Thursday at 1:30pm. The old man answered the phone “Villano Music”. He hung up on me I thought by accident so I called back. The second time he answered with, “didn’t you notice I hung up the phone?” I don’t think he wants his business to last. Go to Sam Ash if you want a courteous person. Wow what a disappointment.
Called the store to see if they could repair an isntrument for me and as I was calling I also visited their website. The website said closed so I hung up and was going to call back tomorrow. I then received a call from them which I didn’t ask for and I tried to explain why I was calling but the guy told me I was wasting my time. He never listened to what I had to say. I would have not given any stars but that is not an option to post. Rude.
Brought my brand new telecaster in for a setup and the owner did a good job, however when I brought it in a few weeks later to have fret sprout addressed, the owner mangled the high E side of the fretboard. It appears he used improper tools, sloppy technique, and did no protective taping. It is rough, uneven, and he also proceeded to over bevel the frets to almost 3 times the proper length so the string constantly pops off the side. When I brought it to his attention and asked him to pay to have the neck that he ruined replaced, he refused.
7. The Vibe Music Store
Address: 6126 N U.S. Hwy 41, Apollo Beach, FL 33572 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Nice people, good vibe. My kids are playing piano beautifully bc of Justin…highly recommended
Awesome place for jamming on Tuesday nights….
Just picked up my Les Paul from repairs done by Marty at the Vibe. My Guitar now sounds great after Marty did some wiring work on it. Strongly recommend this Place for any repairs…..
Great group of folks. You can find some cool instruments or take lessons. Relaxed atmosphere and a knowledgeable friendly staff enriches the area. Top notch
Doti and Terry are wonderful! I love family friendly small businesses.
turned away because i refused to wear a face diaper. when you want to return to reality, I’ll happily come in for a guitar lesson. Thanks.
We have left three voicemails in the last week to see about music lessons for my child and not once have they returned a call. No one ever answers the phone. Doubtful they can stay in business with these practices. We won’t be calling again.
Been there 3 times at a normal hr after work at around 3-4 pm. Every time door was locked 2 times saw someone inside who did not come to the door. I was ready to purchase a new guitar with. Cash in hand each time. Also get my drum kit repaired. So willing to spend quite a bit of cash. So disappointed. Closest store to me. My money went elsewhere.i will not step foot in this place if the doors are open.
8. Guitar Center
Address: 1101 W Hallandale Beach Blvd, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
What can I say? It’s a music equipment store. Most of the stuff is overpriced compared to what you could find online but the experience of going there is amazing. If we don’t spend money at places like this then we will never be able to continue experiencing it. I am very kinesthetic so I like to physically see and touch the things I want to buy before purchasing.
For a Guitar Center has every option that you need from A to Z staff is very friendly prices are fair would recommend to anybody overall kale
Good service found exactly what I was looking for and the associates were very helpful! I really appreciate it as a new instrumentalist.
I went in an hour before closing to buy a guitar I already knew which one I wanted as I had been there previously to test it out. There was only one employee in the store. He didn’t even acknowledge I was there while he was helping someone else. I stood inline waiting for him to finish with the customer for 30 minutes and he never said a word. 10 minutes before close I was need up leaving with no guitar. Decided to go back during the day and purchase the guitar and a few other items. When you walk in no one even acknowledges you or asks if you need help. I purchased an $149 travel guitar and a few other items and the cashier told me that if it breaks in three years that I come back and pay $35 and they will fix the guitar. I got home and realized he charged me for a warranty up front which is not how it was explained. I went back a few days later to request to get refund on the warranty (which according to their policy I have 30 days to do) when I told the same guy that I bought the guitar from I didn’t want it he say “Why?” and went on to lecture me in a rude way. He said everyone says they take good care of their stuff until they don’t. And his coworker next to him chimed in the conversation and said “if you break it and try and bring it back we aren’t going to take it back” not to mention that they made me wait 20 minutes to do the refund and took 3 customers ahead of me and I had been in line before them. Never going back to this store. I have never had this experience at any other guitar center.
some customer service skill training is what this store needs.
The piano tech that I ask to help me with a piano I bought online from the store acted like I ruined his day asking him questions on my Akai APC Key 25. Complaining in Spanish like I’m suppose to be an expert at it when I just purchased the damn thing. It’s alright though I will keep on trying because I love music and it seems like I would be looking for help forever trying to contact any guitar centers because nobody seems like they know what they are doing…when it comes down to the piano.
9. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 923 McMullen Booth Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Rockford is amazing, well spoken, versed in product knowledge and extremely charismatic. Amazing help from you guys
Josh at the store was a great help in buying equipment for the first time. He was knowledgeable and made shopping very fun and easy .
The Sam Ash crew was kind, polite and quick with their help, suggestions and solutions. They ROCK !!!
I’m only rating it a 4 because of two specific things that make it not as good as the one off of Dale Maybury.
1. While this location does have a bigger selection in stock, the Tampa one has a trump card: The guys there actually get to choose what they can get in stock because they’re 5 minutes away from the warehouse.
2. The Tampa location has, in my opinion, a better selection of percussion (excluding actual drums, the Clearwater one has a room pretty much full of kits and a couple nice marching implements).
I have been going here to buy and test out musical and audio equipment for years. They have nice selection of guitar bass drum and keyboard but limited amount of audio stuff. The reason I give this a four star instead of a five star is the fact that you can not test out any of the DJ equipment like you can at Guitar Center. They have a controller hooked up to a computer, but you can’t access the computer to actually load the DJ software to test out the controller. Other than the DJ equipment testing issue, the store is nice and the staff is friendly.
The staff was super friendly and they had some great deals in the percussion/drums section!
After being a customer for decades- it’s just not the family business it used to be “back in the day”- so I won’t be back ( I don’t want to trash talk anyone there since it’s not their fault that they have follow the letter of corporate policy otherwise risk their job. ♀️ ♀️). So anyway, I’ll be looking for a locally-owned music store to bring my future business to.
Sam Ash is one of the most wonderful music stores in the world! It’s true, the buildings history and architecture transform your experience into something quite magical. I’ve been going to Sam ash for years. I have a famous music producer in my home therefore I have a music studio , lolz…
I’ve always had an awesome time shopping, looking around, playing with what we’re purchasing and then making a purchase and leaving happy. On this last visit I was not! The rep Sean Murphy that approached us had a harassing nature. He was forceful and did not aim to please. At checking out I was be-little by one of his colleagues and him and had to bring it to both their attention while I demanded respect. My son wanted to visit the drum area and we did not because of Sean Murphy! His customer service skills are weak.
Anthony was by far the best sales person, mentor, and face of music for Sam Ash Clearwater ever. If I have to deal with Sean Murphy I will not visit again.
I was returning (buy back) a guitar and amp like new. Cost 337. They offered 65. I took it to a nice charity and donated it all.
10. Miami Music Works
Address: 11771 S Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33156 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
I brought two guitars in last month to be set up. Rudy is excellent and the turnaround was way faster than I expected. I’ve had problems with the action on my acoustic for years that other shops couldn’t fix and Rudy handled it with ease.
The best for our kids !!
Bellisimo
Looked nice from the outside. But was closed at 4:45pm, before displayed and published closing hour (5pm on Saturdays as of Feb 27th 2022).
One of the worst places i have been. first time i have felt so discriminated against. i was going to buy a 26k piano but these people are horrendous. They pre judge me by the way I look that I couldn’t afford any of the pianos. extremly bad experience i walked out. ill take my business elsewhere.
On Dec. 10th. the fifth day of HanukkahI went to the store to buy a Ukelle. In the past I have bought 2 other On Dec. 10th. the 5th. day of Hanukkah I went to the music store to but myself a soprano Ukelle, having bought 2 other Ukes there. I picked up a yellow soperno Uke and took it to the desk. I asked the owner a rather tall stout man in his 6o’s to help me tune the Uke. His reply was I am to busy for that. Understanding that I suggested that someone else could get me a tuner. He looked me directly the eyes and said” PUT DOWN THE UKE AND GET OUT OF MY STORE”. I Stood there in absolute SHOOK! What did I do to cause this absurd response. Was it that I am a brown skin man with a colorful yamaka? Did he take me for a Muslim and decided to exercise his right to be a flaming bigot? I’d like to say bless him but I just can’t. There is no place for bigotry period.
11. 5th Century Music
Address: 1395 US-1 South, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Nice little music shop. The guy working was very cool and hooked me right up with everything I needed for my guitar. I would absolutely check it if you hadn’t….✌
I love to shop local, and this place has all the charm. It’s quaint, cozy and comfortable. John really makes you feel at home. Definitely give this place a shot!
These people were so down to earth, Honest, and sincere. Gave me advice like I was family. The best was how to pick my next Guitar. I won’t say it here you got to go see them I have my new guitar from them, I love it and he actually talked me out of one that I wanted that was much more expensive. They have a new loyal customer for life!
Steve H.
IT’S A SMALL STORE, BUT THEY HAVE A GREAT SELECTION OF AWESOME GUITAR ACCESSORIES, AND GUITARS… ALSO IF YOUR GUITAR NEEDS REPAIRS THEY CAN DO THAT ALSO….
Friendly service and competitive prices
Great little shop.
Would be nice if they opened on time. Times on door say they open at 11am. Been waiting 15 min and still not open. Frustrating!
Told me on phone they could restring my guitar while I waited. Got there and they said the guitar would have to be left and they would call when it was done.
Bought the strings and did it myself. On
I bought a guitar from 5th Century Music. They said it was new. I found out in less than a week that it was not. The G string had been replaced and the nut had been opened to almost twice the size of the string. I took it back the second day because I couldn’t keep it tuned. They sold me a tuner. They said the one I had was no good. I kept the guitar for a week and I got tired of tuning it. I took it back to the store and asked for a refund. The salesman called the owner and asked if it was ok to give me a refund. The owner said no and the salesman pointed out a very small handmade sign that said no refunds. The sign was not there the day I bought the guitar or on the second day I went there. I left the guitar at the store with the salesman and I am now working with my credit card company.
12. Guitar Center
Address: 21335 US Hwy 19 N, Clearwater, FL 33765 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Guitar Center is awesome! I bought a Harbinger monitor and received EXCELLENT customer service. Needless to say…the product is great!! I’m truly impressed, Guitar Center is my go to store for music equipment!!
Great store. Laid back staff
Very
Small keyboard Dept
Little selection, mostly guitars hence the name.
For a holiday sale it was lame
I’m going to Sam Ash also check out Moes music off of in Seminole right before Park Street cool guy look it up lot of good used gear fair prices little shop packed with goodies fun stop to me.
Nice store
Overpriced sweetwater’s prey. I usually go in once in a month to see used stuff and talk to other players. I buy small things lately because their big stuff is way overpriced. I know what the rent is for that plaza, it’s very cheap so you can blame it on overhead. They are trying to carry the locations that are expensive to maintain I guess. Good luck.
No interesting used guitars or amplifiers. If you dont look like a rock star no one approaches you.
Terrible experience. Management was none existant. Associates knew nothing about musical equipment. Amazed their in business
This will be my first and last time, I REPEAT FIRST AND LAST TIME EVER ORDERING FROM GUITAR CENTER ONLINE, in-store or whatever. My boyfriend is am aspiring d.j. at first it was just a hobbie, but now people have really taken notice. So much so that he invested in school for it. The school recommended certain equipment and after I researched, i could only get it from guitar center. (Keep in mind I thought I was doing an order online for pickup in the Clearwater store)all three pieces of my order shipped separately, then one item was cancelled, and because this is a birthday gift and the wrong address is on pkg, i wanted to pick up at a ups facility but guitar center (sender) didn’t opt in for that option. Now I just received one item, after completing and address change, but the other part of my order is still on a truck somewhere because the address change didn’t apply to the other shipment and my boyfriends birthday is this friday. ☹
13. Miami Guitars
Address: 4703 SW 72nd Ave, Miami, FL 33155 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Ralph is super helpful, he really breaks everything down so you can understand I would highly recommend paying him a visit if you’re trying to get started on playing guitar or even if you need advice.
Immaculate guitars
Bought a fender custom shop 59 jouneyman strat in seafoam green from them and they were more than helpful. Check them out.
Communication was a bit rough at first. However, after working out some kinks and lining up a specific model (EBMM JP15 Blood Orange) the process was smooth. Received the guitar in excellent condition and it sounds and plays amazingly. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks!
Miles and the entire team are super responsive and offer great prices. Incredible service and expedited shipping made for a wonderful experience.
Made a special trip out to Miami Guitars only to find them not open. Their Google and Facebook pages both say open Saturday’s 11-6 but it looks like they might not keep weekend hours which is a shame. Might have to try next time I’m in Miami.
Muy elevado precio
Just drove up from the Keys to looks for a new guitar, based on reviews this was high on my list of places to check out. Not sure what place everyone else is going to that they are giving such good reviews but the pace I went to looks nothing like the pictures on google. I had to ring a door bell to get in, after waiting a few minutes I was greeted by a young lady who barely spoke English and seemed hesitant to let me in. Once she did she told me no one was available to talk to me about guitars and that maybe I could talk to someone on Friday (today is Wednesday). Major disappointment, I won’t be driving back up on Friday.
I was there with the intention to buy a Les Paul… the experience was brutally bad. This will give you an idea:
1- me asking questions about Les Pauls. Yeah pretty basic questions but anyways, the guy tells me “dude, there is a lot of info about this guitars on line. You should research before coming in the store”
2- they ask me to remove my marriage ring! … it May damage the guitar.
3- didn’t let me plug the guitar to an amp
I end up buying the Les Paul from Walt grace Vintage.
14. Total Entertainment Music Store
Address: 501 W International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Great store, very helpful staff, all the top of line products. Very reasonable prices.
I would never shop anywhere else. Not only has total entertainment been in business in town for well over 25 years, they always compare their prices to the best online prices. They always match the lowest price online and oftentimes Beat It by 5%, 10%, even as much as 15%. Plus they stand behind everything they sell and have a huge selection of merchandise on premises. It’s great to be able to put your hands on the item that you are buying and it’s also great to be able to take it home today. Price, selection and service are all excellent.
Great service and product availability. Competitive prices. Friendly informative staff.
Total Entertainment has been here at this exact same spot for as long as I can remember. And I been local here since 1989They have everything you could need to start testing you’re musical talents or to start you’re own band.If they don’t have it if it’s actual thing, they can maybe order the item for you, they are great. Not to be a Debbie downer, but due to how this pandemic has been playing out,I just wish you guys would do a little bit more for you’re online shopping community.Things like info on deals&sales ,store cataloged in store items. Like the hardware, guitar pickups ,mics ,strings, skins for the drum set incase you break one. It would a lot quicker just to come down and shop in store than online, but sometimes you might not be able to make that trip, but to just pull out the ol phone and order them strings before I forget. I mean there’s shipping cost, that’s the price one must pay for not choosing to shop in store.
Nice assortment of shredder guitars. I use ESP, Charvel, and Yamaha as my main guitars. I was very impressed with the selection of Jackson’s and ESPs. Not much Charvel stuff for one of the only “authorized” dealers (which was the reason for my visit). Lots of equipment for most any need you may have. The front counter guy and guitar tech were very helpful!
These guys are nice guys and they know guitars
I called to have a lyre held for my son’s upcoming event. I told them my name and I’d pick it up after work, since it was the last one left. Instead, they sold it to someone else!!! When I called to voice my issue, whomever I spoke to said he was sorry and that was my prerogative to go somewhere else. That’s the thanks I get for shopping local. They just lost my business and everyone else I come into contact with (which is a lot of people in my profession). If you say you will hold it, you should do so. Bad business practice and very unprofessional. It is a shame small businesses are closing due to places like amazon, but this is a prime example why.
In response, your version of events is completely false to cover your own reputation. I called and the business was about to close in ten minutes. I was told when you reopened and I left my full name. I also called back when you reopened and informed them my husband would pick it up that day. He showed up THAT VERY DAY and it was sold. Your version of events is incorrect sir. Your excuses won’t help your poor business practice. Maybe try taking some accountability for wasting our time and offer a sincere apology or resolution? I can’t imagine how you treat customers who actually have a bigger concern or complaint at your establishment. Being rude, unethical, and a blatantly lying about the events just to cover your own shortcomings that led to my review just proves what kind of person you are. I’m more than happy to spend our money somewhere else sir.
After being hung up on, I called back to continue asking questions about a certain product. Employee was short and unhelpful
I’m a little conflicted on how to rate these guys. The plusses are that the sales associate I worked with was very helpful, friendly and well-versed, and the guitar I bought was excellent.
The downside is that I cannot help but feel that this store acted inappropriately. I was in Daytona for vacation, and bought a $300 Yamaha git at the store to play while on vacation, with the agreement that they would do free shipping back home after I played it for a few days on vacation (the website says all shipping is free to the lower 48 states). Win/win, right?
When I took it back to the store 4 days later (as planned), the manager told me that I was going to have to pay approximately $40 in shipping (since they erroneously charged me sales tax). When I told her about our agreement, she said she would honor it, but would take it out of the sales guy’s paycheck. Of course, I said that was inappropriate, and paid the shipping. But that’s a terrible way to do business. I felt she acted dishonestly. And what is a bit ironic is that I fell in love with a $600 Yamaha transacoustic (great git, btw!), and was going to buy it on the spot and have it shipped home. Given the margins on a guitar like that, her being greedy to not pay shipping (when the website SAYS free shipping) cost her store at least a coupe hundred $$$. The sales guy did right, and worked a good deal for everyone, that she then screwed up.
In short, the manager of the store demonstrated to me that I could not trust her, and by extension the store, so I will simply spend my music instrument dollars (several thousand) elsewhere. That poor customer service cost her $600 today, so I hope the extra $40 for shipping was worth it.
UPDATE 2020: Heading to Daytona for vacation again later this summer. Going to buy another guitar for vacation, almost certainly a 1xx or 2xx series Taylor. Going to buy it from Guitar Center, instead of this place. Had you just honored your word and done the right thing (i.e what you PROMISED to do) I would have bought this $1000+ git in your store. But being unethical has it’s costs; if I can’t trust you to stand behind your word, I won’t ever give you another penny. Still glad you stuck me with the shipping bill?
15. Central Music, Inc.
Address: 5175 Ulmerton Rd, Clearwater, FL 33760 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
I recently purchased a piano from Tim , what a great experience it was. The whole team took us through a tour of everything that was available for all my inquiries everything was professionally done from their front door to the delivery to my door I highly recommend Central Music ! THANK YOU – Tim and Sharon!
I stopped in a week before Christmas to purchase an electric piano for my kids. They were very helpful and fair. The piano is wonderful and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
I have worked with Central Music for many years on a variety of projects and they have always delivered a first-rate product. I currently play a Rodgers hybrid at church and enjoy a Johannus Vivaldi at home. I love both instruments. Their customer service has always been first-rate and consistent. I highly recommend this organization.
Bad customer service, very rude
Owner stood over me questioning about my income. Felt very unwelcoming. She claimed to do a lot of work with the church, but should probably read the Bible again. There are better piano shops where people welcome aspiring musicians…
16. Carlton Music Center
Address: 1902 Harden Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33803 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
The Carltons have contributed to this community for over 40 years. Rich wellspring of talent. Glen is a brutal bassist. Mike is the best guitar tech I know of.
Everyone was so helpful. Replaced the heads on our old snare in half an hour and helped a clueless mom pick out a practice book for my son.
Tuned, replaced, and bought a violin string for under 6 dollars!
Knowledgeable staff
Very nice man at counter was very nice. We just looked around.
Small but well-stocked family owned store, friendly staff. They didn’t have the guitar I wanted in stock but I am sure they could get it. I will shop here in the future.
Upon entering, a bald head older male with glasses shot up to ask if I needed help (never mentioned his name). I asked about an instrument since he was the first one up. The guy was short with answers and giving a vibe that he did not want to attend me, throwing a book down back and forth. I watched another gentlemen’s with longer hair pull the same book out and explain in detail with people very nicely. I informed that guy, we were new to this experience and were recommended there by a local music teacher. The guy kept leaving me to go assist other customers, get on his phone to verify our information, stopping to call someone to ask for help and told me if I don’t provide a reference he will charge me a $200 deposit. I was forced to call a reference and put someone down on paper I did not want to. Then the guy left me to decide…
After being alone for a while, another gentlemen came to help & was a great. I explained the situation and how I was feeling. He apologized for the other guy and stated, “I’m sorry for him, that’s just his personality”. I stated to the new guy, he should know if he doesn’t want to fully assist a person and immediately ask another associate to help. He agreed. When the new guy asked the old guy if he already verified my information, he lied and told him no. That’s when I got upset and asked, why he lie like that?
Being a single small business owner for 20 years, a husband, father and grandfather I understand protocol/business. I felt discriminated by this guy & his demeanor, skepticism and unfair treatment which is a huge concern for me. We rented the D grade instrument and left …
After discussing with my wife, we found an A grade instrument and a trumpet and paid cash for them and drove 4 hours to go pick it up. Monday was Labor Day so we didn’t visit the store to return the instrument. I visited the location today to return the saxophone because my wife and I made a decision not to do business with people like RP… RP is the bald guys name I learned today…
Today, I was returning the instrument. Matt was the gentleman that was helping me today. In speaking with Matt, the bald head guy “RP” took it upon himself to continually and rudely interject into the conversation. Stating he needs to call the corporate office to verify return policy. As I was asking Matt questions for clarity, RP took it upon hisself to keep answering for Matt and give me a card when I can return the instrument. I asked RP to excuse hisself from our conversation and allow me to deal with Matt. He rudely stated, go ahead and finish with him and I will write the notes on his file.
As a State Official for 6 years, this gives me the indication that RP wants to attempt control the narrative with our story now and I’m on the defensive side of this situation. Even after being asked not to interject with my conversations, RP doesn’t seem to understand how I’m feeling at this point…
So, from RP calling corporate, I now know there is one & find myself calling the corporate office and spoke with Glen. Glen is working to make things right and once again, on another business day, apologized for the RP’s behavior!
For the guys that are picking up the scraps for RP, I’m giving a 2 Star Rating.
RP needs training on empathy, customers service & how to discern when NOT to service a customer AKA stay out of it! I hope he takes the courses to become better at what he does someday. We forgive you buddy, we just won’t ever do business with you!
Customer service didn’t know how to fi d piano music I needed to purchase.
Went in there to buy a drum head because Guitar Center wasn’t open yet or I’d certainly have went there instead. EVERYTIME I’m in this store I get watched and questioned like I’m going to steal something. It’s a very uncomfortable environment. No other customer was in there yet, and as soon as I walk in, they’re all stopping what they’re doing and looking at me asking if I needed help, and I said “I’m just getting a drum head…thank you.”, and I wasn’t looking for 2 minutes, and heard another employee say “everything okay over there?”….YES GEEZ!!!! Can someone take a few minutes and decide what product they want!? Just because you’re looking doesn’t mean you’re plotting a GD theft! It’s a $20 drum head! Gimme a friggin’ break! And ya know…much to their surprise…I PAID FOR IT! Guitar Center sucks too, but at least they give you freedom to comfortably browse at inventory without being asked what you’re doing. There’s no excuse for that behavior. Innocent until proven guilty….not in that place, it’s guilty until they see otherwise. From now on, I’ll wait for Guitar Center to open. I won’t spend another dime in Carlton until they get the FBI…I mean, their employees under control…
Pete is a great luthier. He is a very personable guy and very knowledgeable about guitars. He is the only guitar luthier I will use in this area…
If you are getting your guitar and or bass set up, Peter Taylor is without a doubt the best around!! His guitars and pedals are also top of the line for sure, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Amazing that this quality of a guitar shop is in Jupiter. It’s more like something you’d see in NY, Nashville or LA. Great variety of instruments, VERY helpful staff, excellent guitar repairs and they guarantee their work and sales. Family owned as well. Best place for guitars in Palm Beach County.
Very helpful & knowledgeable…
would definitely recommend!
Love this place! If you’re in South Florida and feel the need to visit a real, actual musician-oriented guitar shop…look no further. Businesses like this are a real treasure and getting harder to find everyday.
The photos on the website were misleading. This place looked inviting. This shop looked like a place where musicians came to meet.
I wanted some info on the banjo. I’m looking for players, lessons, books, ..anything.
It seems that since I wasn’t in there to BUY an instrument, (…really..the same question 3 times?) I was asked to “sit tight” and wait to speak to someone.
After 20 minutes, I figured it out. No one was coming, so I left.
I always prefer the “little guy” to big corporate stores.
Wolfe Guitars has changed my mind.
I haven’t had any prior issues in my dealings with Wolfe guitar, until now. I bought a PRS SE Silver Sky on sale from their showroom that turned out to have high frets, as well as an issue with the truss rod.
Unfortunately, because they somehow feel they are not being fairly treated by Paul Reed Smith due to the current 20% off factory PRS holiday sale, they will not return or exchange the guitar. Instead, now I have to ship the guitar back to PRS and wait for repairs or replacement which will most likely take weeks, according to a PRS representative. I contacted Wolfe Guitars, and they offered no solution other than ship it back to PRS.
Even with the sale this guitar still cost me several hundred dollars. Instead of taking care of a return customer (who was actually planning on making larger purchases), they would rather worry about their “loss” from a PRS factory sanctioned sale.
I would not recommend Wolfe Guitars, here’s why:
I sent an email to Wolfe Guitars on July 09th, 2013 with a specific list of things that I wanted done to a new Strat to include a PLEK and asked for pricing in this email.
I stated that I was a good three hours away and wanted to schedule an appointment to bring the guitar in (I also planned to look at the Heritage Guitars while I was there waiting).
I received a response from Jay Wolfe on the 10th stating they could handle the work but they were short a PLEK tech and wanted to know what day worked best and wanted to know where I was located but Mr. Wolfe did not give the requested prices.
I responded to Mr. Wolfe’s email on the 10th (within 15 minutes) stating that before I commit, I needed prices for the things listed in my original email, I wanted to make sure I was dealing with an experienced PLEK tech and I advised him of my location and flexibility for the appointment.
As of the 12th I had not received a response so I sent a follow-up email and as of today, the 24th, Mr. Wolfe still has not responded nor has Mr. Graham Zebedee who was cc’d.

Address: 1673 WP Ball Blvd, Sanford, FL 32771 , Clémencia , Florida , United States
Super nice staff, helped me pick out a new amp. Even gave me some band suggestions to look up. Will come back again.
So I went in to start my journey in making music and Rebecca was a huge help! She showed me the equipment along with some wisdom on how to get started. The genuine care and knowledge was great and I recommend stopping by and see for yourself! Also, shout out to Jazel for being a cool guy!
The employees here are super helpful; this place is great
I’ve purchased two guitars from here so far. They don’t have a huge selection, but the prices are reasonable.
The 2nd one I got from this store was on clearance and they even knocked some off that, giving me a better deal than I could have gotten online for the same guitar,
They sell flutes, do flute repairs, offer flute lessons but their selection of flute music is very limited.
It was our first time going there. The guy working there was very helpful. The store has a good variety of gutars and other instruments. They also give lessons at the store.
Signed up for first time lessons a few weeks ago. When I showed up for my first lesson, the instructor was out of town. No one seemed to think it was important to notify me. Got a refund for the lesson, fine. Show up for my lesson the next week but they were double booked. Obviously there are communication issues at this location. If you’re going to sign up for lessons then I recommend verifying your appointment via the phone each time.
it’s owned by guitar center, so expect bare minimum as far as stock. the crew itself is nice and helpful…not too knowledgeable on product stock but also not the most knowledgeable bunch. overall, it’s not the crews fault, but with good management you could make a place like this really shine, considering it’s the only music store in Sanford.
After calling and ensuring Music and Arts had clarinets for rent, when I arrived at the store, I was told that they haven’t had any for several days. Worse, when mentioning the fact that I called ahead, the employee disputed me on what I had actually asked on the phone: “you asked me if we EVER rent clarinets, not if we had any to rent right now!” Then went back to playing with a guitar for sale.
In conclusion, I was able to find the instrument and service I needed from another Central Florida music store; I doubt music and arts will get a second chance from me.

Friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic service. Great selection of instruments.
The staff was welcoming and not pushy. They offered help but did not hover. They are very well informed about the instruments and easily answered any questions we had. Tripp was a pleasure to work with. Thank you
Sydney, the sales associate, was professional & caring towards us with regards to buying my husband’s ( he can no longer play them) musical instruments.
Lots to offer on a wide range of instruments. Staff was friendly and helpful too.
All in all great experience…courteous and professional staff.
i bought a fender 5 string affinity on line and when i recieved it, well it wasnt an affinity, i pretty upset, i got a fender squire in the box, i called the customer service line and well their solution to the issue absolutely sucked!!! i was not pleased. so i took the bass to the Tampa Fl. store at fletcher and dale mabry, the management did what they could to help, they understood the urgency of my needs. they didnt have any replacements to swap out, so they gave me a very!! nice!! discount on a better guitar. i have to say im very pleased that they came thru for me, . ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Really disappointed in the guitar selection at the Carrolwood store.
Alguien sabe si Venden takamine docerola en sam ahs donde queda me lo pueden decir es que quiero comprar una docerola ?
Went there today to sell some items with my boyfriend. We expected to be treated professionally but the sales person referred to my boyfriend as bro while simultaneously talking down to him. He used an embarrassingly low quality guitar while testing the head my boyfriend was trying to sell. He also had to google the value of the two items we were selling. At the same time, my boyfriend is a metal musician and has loved all of his equipment for decades. The salesman didn’t even understand why my boyfriend had purchased the head, and why it was ideal for a specific genre of music. We wil not be returning to this Sam Ash location. Hopefully if we ever go again, we will work with someone a little more knowledgable.
