I’ve brought my classical guitar to Mr. Neri several times. He’s quite knowledgeable and does excellent work. Very professional.
A true craftsman.
Amazing workmanship, an Incredible Luthier & Musician.
I brought my Martin X Series to repair the body of the guitar while it was under warranty. From the beginning, I found it very difficult to communicate with Paul. The repair in my opinion is poor, as the front panel is not flush with the side body of the guitar and there is still a gap (images provided). When I called with my concerns, Paul said I should be grateful for a free repair. My guitar was under warranty, and that does not excuse poor craftsmanship. I would not seek Paul for a repair in the future.
I bought my guild d25 in to have the saddle and nut replaced with bone. As it was just cheap plastic. I had a very welcoming experience and told him exactly what I wanted. He told me the intonation and
action was a little off and need adjustments which was great. I left knowing it was in good hands. But the first odd moment was that I called him later to ask if he could also replace the bridge pins and got no response for the week until he called me to tell me it was ready to pick up. But it was fine as in I didnt really care to much. So I come in and hes on the phone as I wait for a few minutes to talk about the guitar. He was very subtle and only answered questions I asked but I’m not a luthier do I was hoping he would be more direct and converse but I ended up back home. And then I gave the guitar a look over. I was very disappointed I’m what I found. My neck was a split a few inches in between the finger board and had a crack in the the body near the neck. Also a a crack in the head stock “which I still dont know how he managed to to that. I was very disappointed in the lack of care he put into my guitar which is very sentimental to me. I never called him back because I would rather not have him work on my guitar and the only reason I’m giving a 2 star is because of his hospitality and kindness. But a professional he is not.

Everyone is always very helpful. Has a good variety of hardware needs.
I love shopping at ace hardware stores. People should still shop and support mom and pop stores instead of Amazon, home depot and Loews!!
Nice, small locally owned place. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
It’s very nice to get away from one of the big box stores with personality and personal assistant Everytime You Go
Always very helpful there.
Too bad for everyone that they are the only hardware store available in Clinton. Hours are good, but after repeatedly spending hundreds of dollars in the store, the continually follow me around, even after helping me find what I am looking for, acting like they think I am going to steal something. I understand the loss prevention concept of greeting and helping every customer, but lurking and glaring as a customer looks carefully at the merchandise to see if it will suit them is just rude. Pricing is typical for Ace- expensive, but they are there. Funny thing, the hardware store in Killingworth never stalks me as I browse, and also sells Stihl, well worth the extra 7 minute ride for me.
Lost another customer here too. Bob a person that works there very angerly said NO to me when I asked if he gives contractor discounts on supplies. Its the way he said it that made me feel that he doesn’t value his customers at all.I will let all my contractors know to never go to this place. He didn’t say sorry. There were other customers around when he said it.He’s very rude, even the customers there said he’s rude too.
Either their on top of you at the door or they ignore you. Cashier was unfriendly and looked more interested looking outside. Will only go there for emergencies.
Update: Still not comfortable shopping there. If it’s my last resort I will go to a big box chain. The town of Clinton does not have a big mix so I stand out like a sore thumb. Just the feeling of being watched is not nice. When I shop I compare items to see what is best for me but I get the feeling of constant hovering. They strike me as nice but I just get the feeling I don’t belong which is a shame since we’ve lived there for over 15 years.

Such a cool place. Can always find something you want
Good place to spend time looking at everything old.
I could get lost here for hours, so much to see! Always a must stop when I’m visiting the shoreline.
Great prices. Fun to shop at.
If your not going to be open then update your website and your hours on google so people don’t waste their time. Your Sunday hours on your website shows you are open 10-5 yet at 1230pm you were closed!!
Unfriendly staff workers. Could of done a lot of shopping. No one greetings you or chatting by the register talking about their life, decided to go somewhere else
It’s eh. Too hot inside in the summer. Poor employee attitude. Very pushy, aggressive customers. Not a great environment. Poor overall experience.

Ian is excellent and the rest of the crew are excellent as well.
They are very knowledgeable about every instrument in the shop. Very customer friendly and will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
This is a wonderful resource for excellent quality guitars and other stringed instruments. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
It’s a no brainer, seriously. I’ve been going here since since I was 16, and used to annoy George with my Stephen Stills impressions. He was patient with me, lol. Anyway, this place is and has always been much more than a guitar shop. Yes, it’s a big part of who they are, but make no mistake, it’s also a place to be inspired, and be around people who truly love the instrument. They are the ONLY place I send folks.
