You have to put out more CDs! I’ll be sure to keep coming back, and I do appreciate the kind gesture you did last time I visited. I ended up getting a brand new sealed Black Mountain album and WOW. I have a new favorite band haha.
The guy here was very nice, and helpful. He has thousands of CD’s, and records. Too many for him to put in his store, but he keeps most of them put up. So just let him know what you want, or what you’re looking for, and he’ll do his best to see if he has it. If he doesn’t have it, just let him know, and he can keep his eye open for you. This owner was very knowledgeable about music, and all the history of records, and CD’s. Go by his little shop, and give him an opportunity to help you find what you’re looking for. Trust me, he is very nice, and will do his best to help you. We are from Austin, TX, and we were just passing through, and I’m glad we did. We will be back! 🙂
Great store! Lots of rare records at great prices!
4. Cocoa Village Record Shop
Address: 625 Florida Ave, Rockledge, FL 32955 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
Awesome selection of vinyl records! Shop looks really cool with nice vintage memorabilia everywhere. Records are fairly priced. Staff is really friendly. Would reccomend!
Had a nice assortment of used records
Nice place! Has records and older audio equipment!
Cool little store. Worth the dig.
I’m not sure that this store even exists. I tried the Titusville address and both Cocoa addresses and did not find a store. The Hughlett address was a head shop and I walked throughout the Cocoa blvd address and while I saw a lot of neat antiques, not a single record. I tried calling but no one answered. Very confusing.
UPDATE – October 2022
A few things have changed since January 2021. There are more records here and the price has pretty much doubled, although the condition is generally worse. Most jackets have a lot of rubbing wear, handling and splits. There is nothing in here I would be happy to buy at the price on the cover in the condition it’s in, not one thing.
ORIGINAL – January 2021
Although it may have been in the past, at the time of visiting, this a not a proper record store as such, just a sizeable uncurated rack of albums in an area inside an antique mall. I couldn’t find it and had to ask at the desk, where the very helpful couple pointed me in the right direction.
Mainly classic rock and pop, and there were enough interesting (though not for me) items in there to suggest that the stock is refreshed, rather than being the left-overs from a closed store.
I am actually kicking myself for not buying the Jamaican press of an El Coco album for $4, so worth a visit, it won’t take to long, and ask where the records are.
This place was closed on a Thursday and I was ready to buy some new vinyl. Maybe next time Im in the area?
5. Lily Pad Recording
Address: 226 King St Suite 150, Cocoa, FL 32922 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
Lily Pad gave me a place before anyone else ever had. I experienced my first time in a recording capacity there and couldn’t ever recreate the comfort level that was achieved in such a small amount of time. I felt like I got extreme value out of my time with Mark and Billie as well as a friendship that will remain forever.
Mark levels as the highest among mensch. It’s clear to me that he cares deeply for the art of music, the people around him and the world collective in general. He has talent beyond measure and brings the perfect vibe to any session. I cannot recommend this place any higher! If creativity is what you want to achieve, this is the place for that!
I wish nothing but the best for Mark and his family always!
-Lonnie
Mark and Billie have a great little studio going right in the heart of Cocoa Village. Great sounding room, easy to load in and out. They have some pro gear there if you need it. I’ve been to many studios over the years, this one is definitely my new favorite. Very nice folks, definitely give them a try if you need to rehearse or do some tracking.
Great people to work with! They (Mark, Billie, and drummer Geoff) were able to be flexible with the recording process and were able to overcome any challenges that we faced. Great studio with a fantastic vibe for recording music!
Went in, dude was cool everything seems very professional… Then you get the mix back, sounds terrible. 2 free revisions if it’s not sounding how you want, ok cool. ( does the 2 revisions) sounds exactly the same so it’s 75 dollars after that for any other tweaks to it. This place is a cash grab not with it 200 bucks down the drain. Mind you it was just audio tracking I already had the full instrumental stems for him mixed too!
6. Soap Studios LLC
Address: 1214B Dixon Blvd, Cocoa, FL 32922 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
And there’s nothing like going to all the different stores. I like it and have fun.
It was nice. Clean. Staff was friendly, and asked if I need any help. I found a shirt & shorts that mach. 4 small planter pots. Potato peeler. I’ll be back….
Not very good customer service.
It’s a nice clean place it’s a little weird to be followed around by people who work there but I understand maybe people steal from there all the time I don’t know it’s a nice place
Really nice store helpful staff
They Not Even Here And They Supposed To Be Open This Is Crazy
Store looks like it’s been around for 50 years. Very junky and disorganized also.
Very sad to see people running a store this way doing drugs right outside the store I will never return after today also very dirty inside employees high and smell of drugs bad customer service
8. P.S.J. Music Co.
Address: 4795 Fay Blvd #19, Cocoa, FL 32927 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
I had a complete set up on my guitar. Had the neck and bridge adjusted. Absolutely right on. Great Job
Very nice people, help me get everything i needed to get my Right
Shannon and Laura are the BEST. They are very personable and professional. They are always willing to work with their customers and really care that our aspiring musicians develop a genuine love for music evidenced through their one on one lessons they provide. I challenge anyone to find a more down to Earth and caring music learning environment.
PLEASE fix your hours of operation. It says you close at 7 so we got there by 7 because my son has to have valve oil, naturally tonight for school tomorrow lol…. and you closed already and the hours on your door were not 7 pm daily for closing. OTHERWISE, this shop is awesome!
9. Infinite Audio
Address: 1653 W King St #13, Cocoa, FL 32926 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
What can I say, not enough! Joe is really a great person to install your audio and video devices! I had a radio put in a couple years ago, by another dealer in Cocoa. The camera on the radio was backwards took it back and it remained backwards. Took my truck to Joe, had the radio removed, a new one installed with 3 cameras, and everything works exactly to plan! Joe, you did a great job installing my wife’s radio in her car, you did a great job installing the radio in my truck and the backup camera is exactly as it should be, perfect! Thank you, Joe, another outstanding great job for us!
Rick Taylor
The installer, Joe, was very knowledgeable about all of my questions, had fair prices, and did amazing work on my car. I would definitely recommend Infinite if you’re looking to get any kind of audio work done on your vehicles. He’s got a customer for life!
Joe is incredibly knowledgeable and has very reasonable pricing.. He will give you the most for your money and exceed your expectations! Very affordable pricing, and professionalism above all
10. Island Music
Address: 465 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
Best place to be for Food , music and drink. And the service are great and friendly. It have comedy show too some night. Come check it out
Got my Taylor GS Mini from Island music. Great guitar!!! Prices were as cheap as anywhere for the models I checked.
It’s a nice store..good music stuff
Cool guys
Good aray of instruments and accessories.
No part that I needed said they could get it it’ll take about two weeks I order to myself up on Amazon and already got it sorry sorry customer service
Has quite a few instruments for the size. Has a recording studio for what that’s worth. I’ve heard some of the noise that come out of there??
Don’t expect any service though. I think the average age of the employees is about 17. And of course they are all Woke and don’t have a clue. Didn’t see any Quota Hires? So if your buying strings or picks you should be good. I really tried hard to buy a guitar there a couple years ago. Ended up ordering a Taylor from Taylor because they wouldn’t. To lazy I guess?
ENTER AT OWN RISK
Dropped off hubbys fender said would be done in few days…went back in one week nothing done didnt even order part…gave another week still nothing done no part even ordered. Just picked up guitar will go to sam ash. Lost a customer.
11. Bartine Music Studio
Address: 93 Delannoy Ave APT 306, Cocoa, FL 32922 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
Always a Pleasure. Appreciate the one on one – which you usually only get in an owner operated business, such as yourself see ya soon
I came here after looking for a place to install speakers after the place where I bought speakers from quoted me $800 for the install. Mike’s had great google reviews so I gave them a shot. Same job ran me $190! Not only the price was good, the guys were honest in letting me know that my car being brand new (2022 Honda Civic EX) I could not install the amp without voiding the car’s warranty since the wiring harness for the amp hasn’t been released anywhere yet. So I just had the speakers installed and the sound is literally 100x better. They were able to keep a brand new car looking factory and were very careful not to damage anything in the process though the A pillars were tricky. Places all the factory parts and speakers nice and neat in the trunk. Highly recommend if you want honest prices, honest opinions, and great quality jobs done. Only thing is now I never want to get out of the car
They installed a backup camera for me. It has been good and no issues have arisen. I checked under the truck recently and I saw this wire hanging down. I’ll have to do something with it before it catches on something. A simple wire rerouting would have made it a perfect installation but instead I’d say it’s sub par. The guys were all real nice, there was some communication issues which we were able to work through.
The installation cost me around $300 and I provided the camera. So that was for the labor and any electrical connectors, etc.
I enjoyed working with the guys but some kinks could still get worked out within the whole process.
I spent 700 dollars on a radio that won’t link to my android or my iphone. I hate the radio it was a waste of money that I can’t get back. The radio is under Robert Clark.
Ordered my part to install my radio on Saturday..was told it would take a couple days and that they would give me a call that week to setup my install. Two weeks later they still haven’t called. I had to call them to find out the part showed up and to schedule the install. Just picked my car up and they broke my dash and my airbag light is on. Beware. Save money and find someone else.
Had me waiting for a half an hour to talk to someone was it only one person in there not very friendly not business type people
Called around to multiple places for quotes on window tinting. They were by far the most expensive out of all of them. Surprising considering the area they are located in. Definitely agree with other reviewers when they say they are overpriced.
Miss Karen is patient, caring and an amazing teacher.
My son took lessons with Lauts. He loved playing the guitar. He has always received praises from every teacher in school that he’s ever had that he is kind, respectful and a rule follower, and he took lessons where we used to live with an instructor that loved working with him. However, when we moved to Merritt Island, he started taking lessons here with one of their instructors. One night, when we came to bring him in for a lesson, his instructor told us that he refused to teach him any more and gave us our check back. When we asked why, he just told us that he was difficult. We asked what he had done so that we could parent him or teach him what to do differently, but the instructor couldn’t tell us any one thing. No notice. Never indicating a problem ever before. He left the lessons in tears and didn’t touch a guitar again for 2 years. We’ve finally gotten him interested in a guitar again but it has been a struggle and we still have no idea what he supposedly did to have his lessons cut off and be humiliated.
Take lessons here at your own risk.
16. Caroline’s Records
Address: 402 Brevard Ave, Cocoa, FL 32922 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
I was greeted by the man at the door after his wife had to drop his keys off cause he forgot them, so I could relate. I can really tell the owner has a love for vinyl and is obviously working with limited recourses these days. There was a great selection if you’re a real music lover. Given the location and being a small store, this place is awesome and ill defiantly be back.
Nice collection of records for sale.
Found albums that were nearly impossible to find elsewhere. Way cool.
Lots of used records reside here. Seemed like mostly older rock music but there’s a little bit of everything scattered about in the bins. Many to choose from!
UPDATE – October 2022
Not much has changed here since my previous visit. Prices are higher as they seem to be throughout the region. Found a few 12″, but nothing much in the store to get excited about. Discogs in full consultation at the counter throughout my visit.
ORIGINAL – January 2021
3-Stars is a decent, OK shop for me, not a negative –
Set inside a small ‘indoor mall’, and had a couple of boxes of cheap albums and 45s outside. 5 singles for $1 is a magnet to me, so I pulled some of them out and had a look inside.
The shop is well stocked, sorted and organised to help you find your genres and, like all shops I visited in this region, heavily favours classic rock and pop. Has a couple of large boxes of 45s, and just about every other major genre is represented to some extent.
The negatives for me were that the pricing system is a colour coded one, so you have to keep on looking up at the wall to see what they want for the record in your hand. For me that always ended up being too much, but I am always looking for the bargains. Still better than no prices at all though.
There’s enough here to keep you busy for a while, and I would imagine it would do well in a slightly touristique setting like Cocoa Village – itself a very nice place to wander round. I spent $15, which is very low for me, but I got a few pieces. Worth a visit.
Love this record store, great selection, owners are friendly. Used to order online, not sure they still offer that, and the hours are subject to change without notice occasionally, but otherwise this is my favorite record store in the area.
Overpriced, nice selection of things though
Staff is so rude!
Um, yeah! Zero mask on the owner who was openly sneezing without covering his nose. The place wreaked of cigarettes, significantly overpriced for the records on the shelf. Owner couldn’t care less that we were the only two people in there and it looked like we had been the only two people in there all day. Thanks I’ll pass.
17. Jacobs Custom Guitars
Address: 2275 N Courtenay Pkwy #6th, Merritt Island, FL 32953 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
I had my 1958 Martin d21 tuned up at Jacobs and they did an excellent job! Very happy and they were very thorough and informative
Good store and to set up your guitar but not more than that
Overpriced shoddy workmanship. I took a Fender Strat in for a setup and nut replacement. The nut was filed unevenly so that the strings were not evenly spaced. Both the e and E hung off the fretboard so bad it was unplayable. He also used an ungodly amount of glue on the nut and let it ooze down on my headstock and into the truss rod adjustment hole.
As far as the setup? He didn’t correct the string alignment or intonate the guitar. All of this buffoonery cost $190.
I took it to a real master luthier, the kind with a diploma to show, and he fixed these errors, put on a new nut set the guitar up to play like a dream for $100!
I would never take an instrument to this store again. I didn’t even want to confront him about it because I didn’t want him to touch my instrument again!
Do not trust this place to work on any valuable or vintage instruments!!!…would give 0 stars if able…Several years ago I had them do a basic setup on a Larrivee lv3 acoustic guitar that had light fret buzz on two notes so it didn’t need much to get it right…work was acceptable but final bill was higher than quoted price…..appx a couple of years ago I brought them a vintage 1978 musicman stingray bass to adjust the neck and basic setup…when I picked it up I mentioned that the action was still too high as if the neck had barely been moved and he said that he would lower it next time I came back if I wanted him to…when I brought it back while dropping off another guitar to work on he acted like it was a huge deal to work on it again and had a bad attitude about doing it…he finally did lower the action to a decently acceptable level…final work was acceptable but not great and bill ended up being quite a bit higher than originally quoted price…The last guitar I brought to them was an unmolested vintage 1966 Martin 00-21 acoustic guitar that needed the bridge reglued…I only asked for the bridge to be fixed and nothing else and was quoted $120 for that and possibly a little more if they needed to make a new saddle…when I went into the store to pick it up not only was the final bill $400 but I was horrified to see that it had been heavily buffed with white compound residue still stuck in all the crevices and stinking like tanning lotion not like fragrant wood anymore…also they had filled multiple dings/pick wear/small cracks with epoxy making them darker and much more obvious…the guitar was previously unmolested for it’s entire life and filling dings etc and buffing it severely decreased it’s value and collectibility…to make it worse I was charged $100 for the buffing which I did not ask for and did not want done…nobody in their right mind would buff a highly valuable vintage instrument ruining the beautiful golden glow patina that it had aquired over decades of being untouched and drastically reducing it’s value and collectibility…I told the guy at the register that I was originally quoted $120 plus a possible new saddle and never asked for it to be buffed which he seemed shocked about at first but then told me they installed new bone pins and charged for a setup too…then he asked if I was able to pay the bill…I told him that the point is I didn’t ask for extra work to be done and especially didn’t ask for buffing thinking he would at least adjust the bill which he did not do…I was about to lose my temper so I paid the bill and left…after getting back home and inspecting it further I could see the bridge was already beginning to lift again and could see the glue pulling away along the back edge…within a week the bridge had already lifted so high that it was unplayable and had to take all tension off the strings to avoid the bridge pulling off completely…I also noticed that there was a mark where glue had been allowed to run while regluing the bridge and realized at that point why they had gone on to epoxy dings and heavily buff it…they let glue run and dry and decided to sand it off then buff the entire guitar to cover up for their mistake and then charged me for it…easily cutting the guitars collector value in half and ruining future collectibility increase…that’s currently an appx $2,000.00 reduction in value by my estimate and more considering it’s now limited for future increase in collector value…the only thing I asked for was for the bridge to be fixed and that repair failed within a week…I was so upset from the entire event that I put the guitar back in it’s case and haven’t even looked at it since so I could put it out of my mind…they could have admitted to their mistake and agreed to compensate me fairly for it but they chose to attempt to cover it up by buffing and further ruining my vintage instrument then charging me several hundred dollars more than the quoted price…they don’t deserve your patronage…your valuable instruments deserve better…beware!!!
I wish I could give 0 stars. I brought a partscaster in for a setup. The guitar had a Floyd Rose trem. He said he didn’t want to take on a Floyd Rose. Fair enough. Then as I was leaving, he said “If you want to build guitars then learn to build them.” What an arrogant comment.
18. Vintage Vinyl Records
Address: 823 N Cocoa Blvd, Cocoa, FL 32922 , Cocoa West , Florida , United States
I had a gig in the area and forgot a critical piece of equipment I needed for the performance. East Coast Music Exchange came to the rescue and stayed open a few extra minutes after closing time so I could purchase what I needed. Thank you so much for going above and beyond!!
Helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Awesome customer service, very knowledgeable. Will be coming back again!
For a pawn shop they have a good inventory and selection of items
we just walked through to look. Pawn shop. but they had a lot of instruments and equipment. the shop seemed well organized.
never found this place
Not what we expected at all. This is a pawn shop, not a music store.
