The people there are very helpful and knowledgeable.
I went to music go round yesterday and they didn’t have the equipment to test out my audio interface which I was selling; so they ended up giving me a quote and called somebody who could test my equipment for assurance that it worked. Great company I’ve been buying from them for about 8 years now… The location on Alameda has done well for me too, long white hair repair dude fixed my turntables after a water damage, they are great people with a great price for anything including renting pioneers, speakers, etc., thank you music go round.
Muy amables
Great place to look for used gear! They have a decent selection of everything especially if you have kids! and the employees are nice. I’ve sold a few thing here and I’ll say they offer the absolute lowest price they can when you don’t take store credit… If you have something to sell and need the cash quick it’s great otherwise you have to be looking to trade for something in the store for it to be worth it.
Great shop! You can expect to pay a little more than average for used fear here, but they are VERY thorough with inspections before they buy. You can trust you will get good gear. Use as a last resort for selling though. They will give you next to nothing for your used gear. They have to make money right. Overall, staff is very friendly and helpful and new gear rolls in pretty consistently which is good and bad news for those of us with incorrigible G.A.S.
Musical Go Round is a great place to find certain used gear at a decent price if you know what you are looking for. It is a fun place to look around. I have bought guitars, sound and drum gear over there. I like the fact that they have a variety of instruments / other gear there too. They also do guitar set ups here too. I have to give Doug props for making my old Squire Affinity play nice again.
Do not buy anything used. The warranty is only good for sore credit. They sell you something broken or on the edge of broken and then you can only get store credit. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the used products are poor quality and worthless. I lost $200 to this store. The USB midi port did not work at all, wouldn’t even turn on. The akai mpk-25 controller stopped working properly after one month. I took very good care of these items. I would not waste your time on this scamming “must-be struggling” establishment. Especially if you are serious about music.
Every time I buy gear here something is wrong with it. Just paid $60.00 for a set of Gibson Deluxe tuners. Installed them and two of the cover fell off. Someone had cut the tabs off all the covers. Really tired of the lack of attention to the functionality of the gear they sell. Will not buy here again!
Was just in the store upgrading my daughters amp not realizing you close at 4pm. Innocently thought you were open till 5 atleast like most places. Besides the miss understanding with hours. You don’t turn off the lights on your customers while they’re about to make a purchase. I come here alot and have always been treated with respect. But turning the lights out on us was a pretty low and rude move. Basically felt like you were all saying FU to us!
If you can play or sing in front of an audience you should atleast have the confidence to make an announcement that you’re about to close ahholes!
2. Music & Arts
Address: 7421 W Bowles Ave Suite 12, Littleton, CO 80123 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
I needed a string replacement and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I definitely could tell that the staff are trained to help assist in any instruments
Fantastic experience. My son was interested in starting with the guitar. We visited twice over two days to decide which one to purchase. James was great – lots of information to share, answered all the questions and was infinitely patient. We started lessons at this location as well. Highly recommend.
Jasmine was helpful and polite. Always mu choice location. lesson teachers and staff are phenominal.
This is one of the best music store around the neighborhood. They even sale old music records and they also give lessons.
They have a bunch of guitar paraphernalia, some keyboard, brass, and clarinet stuff, but nothing for oboe.
Low guitar selection. Great for beginners, but not top choice for a seasoned player.
We had trumpet lessons planned for over a month. We get a call TODAY that the instructor is not available any longer – same day as our first lesson. Ridiculous lack of communication and no advance notice – unorganized and disappointing. …………………..And it just got even worse. We rented a trumpet here despite the first experience – it lasted for 6 weeks – so took it back and we were told that since we didn’t buy the damage waiver, we would have to pay to have it fixed – the damage waiver clearly says it’s for loss or theft – we explained that we were given a defective instrument to begin with. It should last longer than 6 weeks when played 3 times a week. So we just left the trumpet at the store and they threatened to charge our credit card anyway. WOW! …..WORST experience ever – we do not recommend this place for lessons or rentals – worst customer service experience ever!
signs of poor management/corporate involvement. don’t ever order anything from here. just use amazon or something, trust me..
Not very willing to help me. Very disappointed in this store.
3. Music Man Custom Home Audio
Address: Littleton, CO 80122 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
We purchased a piano for our 8 year old to continue lessons. She was ready to move from a keyboard to a real piano. The folks at Pianos and Pianos were great, from showing me all my options to helping me get the piano delivered one week before Christmas. We just had the initial free piano tuning done and Joan was wonderful. This has been a great experience for us!
We bought a beautiful upright Baldwin from Ken and it was a wonderful experience. He is kind and thoughtful and very knowledgeable. Ken spent time with us to hear our needs and talked to us about various pianos in the warehouse while we browsed and played. We couldn’t be happier to have it in our home.
Thank you Ken and Pianos n Pianos.
Great experience with this company. They made it easy and straight forward to buy a piano. Very friendly staff and they are even willing to work within a budget! 5 stars!
Owner doesn’t get customer service
Bought a piano and had issues shortly after. They sent a tech to my house to assess the situation, but never got back to me. Ended up having to fix it by paying out of pocket.
5. Music & Arts
Address: 5158 S Broadway, Englewood, CO 80113 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
Eddie and Tracy were so helpful when I took my 9th grader in to look for an electric guitar for her class at school! They got us excited and taught us everything about the product, which was a fantastic deal. Definitely felt life a small business and that they cared about us. Thank you guys!!
Incredible service! Very Nice staff! Went there looking to buy a guitar string to fix my broken one. Figured I’d have to buy a whole set and then learn how to string it myself. Not only did they sell me just a single string but put it on the guitar and tuned the guitar too. Admittedly I feel guilty paying next to nothing for that service but now that I know the store is here I will definitely make it my go to place
My daughter takes violin lessons from Erin and she rented her violin from here. Erin is great at communicating and gives out a schedule for makeup lessons. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful.
Decent sheet music selection. They do repairs but send the instrument off for them to be done. Double check the repair receipt as mine was overcharged by $120.00. They did fix the error, but only after I argued 3 times with the workers. Satisfactory but not my first choice. I do love the accessory selection though.
i guess its okay if you want a 99$ beginner acoustic or an overpriced pair of drum sticks…
Okay, nothing personal here, it simply doesn’t offer enough to receive four or five stars. Are there a few digital pianos, audio interfaces, & an assortment of guitars, amolkfiera, & percussion instruments? Yes, suitable selection. Best to visit if you’re renting instrument or beginning a specific musical journey early on.
Music & Arts on Lone Tree is far superior to this location. Thought I’d try this store since it’s a little closer to my home. The employee I dealt with today treated me like a total inconvenience. Going back to Lone Tree.
Just walked in the store, not a customer in sight, 4 employees huddled and not one spoke to me or offered assistance. I headed to leave and asked “are you too busy to assist a customer?” They said no but I still was not offered assistance
I rented a saxophone for my kid for school, and no complain about the instrument. However, when school was closed because of COVID, we no longer need it. The store was closed of course, nobody answered the phone. I left a message on their website asking about returning, nobody ever replied me, they just continued to charge my credit card.
6. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
Great locally owned music store. Great selection of new and used guitar equipment. The LARGEST pedal selection in town. Boutique pedals as well as “normal” ones. The owner is hands on at flip side and involved with local music scene. Stop by you won’t regret it.
I’ve been coming to flipside for all my pedal needs for years. Always stellar prices, knowledge and service. I recently brought in the first “brand new” (factory bought) guitar I’ve ever owned for a setup. I am absolutely blown away with the result. The action is as low as can be, the intonation is damn near perfect, and the neck overall is smoother than butter. I cannot recommend this shop more for all your guitar needs. Flipside forever!!!
I have just decided to take up guitar. Went in the Flip Side and the guys were fantastic! They were really helpful. Thank you for the great experience!
Very knowledgeable staff and unique instruments
Cool store, not the friendliest staff. Nice pedal selection.
Best service in this category
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
7. The Denver Folklore Center
Address: 1893 S Pearl St, Denver, CO 80210 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
Had my new Taylor 320e set-up with the action set as low as possible because of nerve damage to my index finger. The work was superb and with extra light-gauge strings….no buzz. Would recommend Folklore Center to anyone needing a Taylor set-up. Thanks!
They helped me purchase my first ukulele and are super friendly.
Best acoustic instrument shop in Colorado, bar none.
I haven’t been there in 20-30 years. It was always a good place for young hippie musicians and a counter culture gathering place. Always enjoyed going there. I’ve known the main guy there since I was a teenager (50 yrs ago).
We went in to try to find a mandolin. The store is smallish but selection is good. Very “buy something now or leave” vibe. We were able to get some questions answered by their seemingly knowledgeable staff, but the way we were treated made it difficult to find an instrument that might be a good fit.
Exciting to have a local non chain (read “Guitar Center”) acoustic musical instrument store in the hood. Experts in not only guitars, but dulcimers and mandolins too! Experienced in their craft, and repairs.
I’m musician on tour, passing through Denver, and I invited two of my bandmates to go to this shop with me. All three of us are professional musicians who live in the world of music 24/7 and are always in the market for instruments. After trying 3 guitars, one of them a resonator which I seriously considered buying, and 2 banjos, one of the employees came over and gave me a seriously dark look and told us not to “make a day of it.” I’ve never been as insulted in a store of any kind, much less a music store where trying out instruments is crucial. Maybe they have other priorities, but I was embarrassed, insulted, and disappointed. With all the competition from online sellers and stores like Guitar Center I am really surprised that they think treating the customers this way is viable. If I were in charge of this place, I wouldn’t necessarily tell my employees that the customer is always right……… but I would tell them that the customer does get to try out instruments to the degree that they want to, because you never know when inspiration will strike and that magic connection between a player and an instrument will happen……… and I would tell them that insulting the customers is a way to lose business in a hurry.
Terrible service and advice.
Came here while on a trip with a friend and mandolin student who was in the market for a new mandolin. She hadn’t played many because there aren’t really any places to play them where we live. I am always in the market for new instruments I like, and have several multi-thousand dollar instruments. So we went to the store, which had no other customers there, and looked at the mandolins.
She is pretty shy so I wanted to loosen her up into not feeling judged and free to try and compare. I grabbed one of the cheaper mandolins and did my typical trying out a mando routine of playing parts of tunes that try out the high, low, and mid ranges of the instrument. As soon as she started playing one of the cheaper Kentucky mandolins softly some guy came over and asked what we were looking for and that we could only play the instruments if we were going to buy them.
I gave him a quick synopsis of the situation and made the point that it’s hard to know what we’d want to buy until having played it. He replied with a smirk and said he could show us to something specific if we were interested, but couldn’t condone “jamming”. I was bewildered as we were not jamming at all, but simply lightly playing on some cheap mandolins at the same time.
Eventually he showed me to some octave mandolin that I pretended to be interested in due to the feeling that if I didn’t tell him something specific we’d be kicked out or something. I felt suspicious somehow. When he left, some younger guy came over and he was really cool. But that older guy killed any good vibes. I didn’t even try all the instruments I would have been considering to buy.
One would think that, especially in this day and age, brick and mortar music stores need to be a sanctuary for players to play instruments they’re shopping for.
8. Drum City-Guitar Land
Address: 9225 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
Very impressed with this shop. Great selection of rare guitars and amps. Friendly, helpful staff. They do an awesome job of updating and organizing their inventory on their website.
My daughter wanted to get a guitar for her birthday and start lessons. This was the second music store we went to ~ WOW! What a difference between stores! The man who helped us was so nice and helpful ~ I won’t go anywhere else in the future. Excellent service! I was really impressed with their prices as well.
Bought an orange head and cabinet from these fine folks, couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Great staff, bad prices!
Cool selection.
This is a good guitar and drum store
I’m a beginner so I went in looking for the ibanez bass guitar starter pack. Everything went smoothly (other than when I asked them for any begginers advice they have and was ignored twice) and I was happy until I got home and pulled it out of the box to start playing. That’s when I realized the bass to amp cable was missing. So I called them and they got me a new after I had to drive back to the store. Got home again, hooked up the bass to the amp, then realized I needed to tune it. The electronic tuner it was supposed to come with was missing. I decided I need to take a full inventory. I didn’t think this was necessary because of this stores great reputation. It was also missing the shoulder strap. I had to drive back one more to return the item. Upon returning, they blamed the manufacturer and never offered anything to make up for the lost time, gas money, and frustration I experienced. I decided not to leave this review as I continued my search for my first bass set up. I found a nice bass but now i needed an amp. So after a week, I called them to give them another chance (on black friday) and asked them if there was any deal they can give me since they already gave me the run around once and if I drive all the way to 44th I want it to be worth it. The response was that his cheapest amps start at $100. I am now deciding to leave this review in hopes of 1. Improving their customer service 2. Making a begginers buyer beware as i felt like I was treated poorly compared to the other customers who weren’t begginers. Their reviews say friendly but I felt no friendliness during my whole experience 3. If u purchase from here, check that they don’t rip u off by making a full inventory before leaving the premises.
I purchased a guitar from this company for my husband, it was a 7 string Schecter Omen which was something he had been wanting for quite some time so I purchased it as a surprise gift for him. He used the guitar once and the next time he went to play it wasn’t working. We took it to a company that fixes guitars and they informed us that it was a used guitar.. I paid full price for a guitar that was not only USED but BROKE immediately after purchase!! If you’re in the market for a guitar I highly suggest that you search elsewhere. Drum City is not a reliable place to purchase from
I ordered an item online that was in stock that the time of ordering. I even called in the store to confirm. I received an email A WEEK LATER saying my order was canceled because the item was out of stock. First and last time I ever buy from this store.
9. Flesher Hinton Music
Address: 5890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
I have had excellent service for some years. I got a free sticker for a new instrument case. They have also repaired my clarinet plenty of times. These repairs have lasted for years.
Cool
As a professional saxophonist and mother to two high school musicians I rely on Flesher-Hinton for tune-ups of our instruments. The service team always comes through for me, often taking time to see if there are easy fixes on the spot. I am grateful and impressed with the service, knowledge and kindness of the staff! Highly recommend.
Like always the services people were just great.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
10. Olde Town Pickin’ Parlor
Address: 7515 Grandview Ave, Arvada, CO 80002 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
Been using this shop for repairs and setups for about 10 years now. I also frequent the store whenever I’m in town. Always a pleasure
If you’re a fan of acoustic instruments then this is the place for you. They have an amazing selection of instruments in a setting that practically begs for an impromptu jam session. Kit, the owner, is a great guy and talented musician. Support local merchants and shop at this mainstay in Olde Town Arvada.
Neat shop with a good selection of acoustic instruments.
Great little shop offering guitars, mandolins, banjos and a huge variety of stringed instruments both for sale and/or repair. A fun shop to visit, and if you play to try out the various instruments.
Fabulous selection but pricey.
The shop is beautiful!
Staff wasn’t interested in helping us, they seemed preoccupied with more important things…
I am a PRO MUSICIAN PRO VOCALIST
I OWN A MUSIC COMPANY I SING ON TV AND IM A MUSIC TEACHER VOICE AND A PROLIFIC SONGWRITER…
THIS OLDER GUY WAS SUCH A JERK. I ASKED HIM A QUESTION ABOUT A GUITAR AND I ANSWERED MY CELL. HE SCREAMED AT ME IN FRONT OF MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS…”TAKE YOUR PHONE OUTSIDE…NO CELLS ALOLWED…
I WAS SHOCKED APPAWLED HUMILIATED HOW RUDE OF HIM.
IM A GROWN LADY CERTAINLY UNACCEPTABLE ON HIS PART.
I LEFT AND I SAID HMMM…
“I GUESS YOU DON’T WISH TO SELL GUITARS’? ……

11. Music Go Round Aurora
Address: 18541 E Hampden Ave #128, Aurora, CO 80013 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
Everyone is always super friendly helpful and knowledgeable.
10/10 service, staff, & experience
Great!
Great helpful people!
Great place
Strummed a few chords in their acoustic room and felt very welcomed by their staff.
If so wwq and the
Honestly I’m not even sure what to think of this place anymore. I’ve bought two pedals, a couple cables, and an amp from here, and I’m satisfied with all of my purchases. I can’t remember the dudes name but he wore a striped shirt and had some piercings, he was so amazing and helped me get a sweet deal trading in an old spider amp I had laying around, I even got more than I expected for it. However last time I came in it felt different, nobody was schmoozing or talking or anything, I brought two guitars in that were both played maybe like four times total, and pedal that was still in the box, the lady got me a total of like $320 for everything, and $400 store credit. I just couldn’t take it considering the whole lot felt worth a lot more, not for any sentimental reasons just based off of what they are selling for and the demand for them. I took the guitars to Guitar Center and they hooked it up! Bought all three for $500 check or store credit! I ended up buying a new guitar there after trading it in and they gave me 10% off and threw in a coverage plan for free, they killed it. So for buying cables and some EHX pedals definitely this place since it’s supporting a smaller business, but if you’re trading guitar center really hooks it up. I’m sure I’ll be back in for another amp when the time comes, but for now I’m probably not coming in too much.
I REALLY DISLIKE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK HERE. COMPLETELY USELESS. The older man thinks he’s on top of the charts or something because his attitude is terrible. I am always waiting to cuss him out… he might be a RACIST. Wouldn’t SUPRISE me… I can feel him and his terrible vibes. We come in, NO ONE GREETS US. We ask if they have BAND instruments, and they decide to have their own conversation and discuss BREAKS. And when you try explaining something to them, they talk with you like you’re an IDIOT. Maybe you should NOT be working with people if it’s too hard to talk to customers KINDLY. Ever thought of that? The boy with the curly hair is honestly on some type of drugs, but he was the most helpful. Every time I come here I get a bad vibe… but it’s the closest to my house, but I will have to be relocating… DONT GO HERE !!! Terrible terrible attitudes and people..
12. Wedgles Music & Loan
Address: 1122 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
Neat music shop…went in to buy an orchestra instrument for my beginner child. The guys there were very helpful and gave me a deal on a pre-owned instrument. It’s in the heart of Denver, conveniently located on Broadway. They tuned it up for me and I was on my way. This place is the best kept secret in musical instruments.
Great music shop. I’m in this shop looking for equipment whenever I can.
I had the good fortune of staying near the shop while in Denver; the staff was welcoming, helpful and genuinely kind in regards to helping fix my ukulele. Very grateful to have walked through their doors. ❤️
Full of rare/vintage/collector’s items, but expensive. And definitely not the place to haggle. More of a novelty type place if you’re a casual musician instead of a collector.
I was in today 9/12/12.
As usual they were a bit busy, but said hi, and I wandered around.
I try to vist Wedgles any time I’m in Denver, and I’ve always been treated with respect, had questions answered and everyone was friendly.
I am sure, given their location, that they get the dregs of society in there on a far too frequent basis, and if you’ve ever worked in retail you know how difficult it can be dealing with the regular public, let alone those down on their luck.
I think these guys do a good job in a small space with difficult customers at times.
They are knowledgable, but I doubt any of them know everything about everything!
I don’t know about the bad comments other than that when a customer has a problem he will usually tell ten people, but when everything goes well, no one is the wiser.
If in doubt, stop in for perhaps the best selection of GOOD used guitars and instruments in Denver. While there today I saw 5 or 6 Fender Telecasters, a number of Gibson acoustics, a carved top or two, etc. Also some inexpensive lap steels (try to find a lap in a pawn shop!) and a few good quality tube amps.
Give these guys a shot, and ignore the whiners!
Great little wheeln’ dealn’ music store. Have picked up some great used drum mics here. Not the greatest hours though, they close right at 5 everyday and closed on Sundays
I came in today to sell a violin. The owners are complete imbeciles, completely rude and totally ignorant of or feigning ignorance of the value of various violins. They offered absolutely nothing for my 2000$ antique violin which is a high quality antique, and has been played professionally. They didn’t even know how to research the value on it and exhibited completely abhorrent customer service. I would never return and recommend to anyone not to waste your time with this abysmal shop. This is a truly low quality business.
When I want to drop several hundred dollars on my kids to have a variety of instruments, I cannot do it here. The staff found it more amusing to scold me over my kids, who touched nothing and were on their best behavior, then to let me browse their selection of rarer and certainly overpriced instruments. Why can’t these employees review their approach and be, I don’t know, FRIENDLY? I came to spend money, not be made to feel unwelcome because my kids are present. Over 17 years in Denver, and I walk away from this place angry and empty handed every time. It just hasn’t changed for the better. This is a “boys’ club” type of pawn shop, not to be taken seriously. I was not taken seriously or treated with any respect here.
Was here several years ago on a vacation trip and was pushed into buying a guitar I didn’t particularly want. Attempted to come back and return the item but was refused and the staff were extremely rude to a young kid who simply wanted his money back. Now I live in Colorado I’ve told everyone I know to stay away. And now with the ability to leave internet reviews it’s funny how it’s gone full circle. I’m sure they have a great selection and it’s not the store itself, just the blatant way they took advantage of a young kid and cared more about the quick sale than anything else. Hate to see what they’re like in a pandemic!
13. Music & Arts
Address: 7350 W 88th Ave Suite B, Westminster, CO 80021 , Columbine , Colorado , United States
Bought my daughter a slightly used, absolutely gorgeous sax for $46 after renting her sax from Music and Arts for 3 years. Such an amazing program!!! I’m so thrilled and so is my daughter!!!
Friendly service with all your music needs
I am a music teacher. This is my go to for lesson books for my students.
Was able to buy a great violin
Organized and clean nice staff they don’t buy instruments
New saxophone from guitar center, 300 bucks. Used saxophone from music and arts 1130 dollars are they serious???
The person that restrung my guitar did the whole thing wrong and he was saying he knew how to do it and we spent $30 on this and it wasn’t even done correctly he said he knew how to work on guitars but he didn’t even know which way to turn the tuning knobs
I don’t like leaving a negative review but I think its needed here for 3 reasons. (1) Rental Process was a rip off – I rented a violin and was told I could gain credit towards purchasing one. Sounds great right? Well they didn’t tell at the time of purchase it had to be one of equal value to the rental ($800). Since it was out of my budget I ended up not using that credit. (2) Reimbusement process is a pain – I returned the violin the start of my next month but was charged that same day. In store the employees aren’t empowered to reimburse you. So you’re given a customer service number to call which takes about 30mins to get through the red tape of reimburse. Not a great time. (3) Sold expensive bad product and can’t return – As a first time player I was sold a string cleaner but the thing doesn’t work well at all. Even a towel worked way better. Despite me being in thier system the employees can’t take it back without packaging/receipt. I was told the manager might be able to help but I’m still waiting on that call back.
Overall, a super disappointing experience. The other reviews were right. I shouldn’t have rented here.
