I went in today with my daughter to rent a viola since she joined her school’s orchestra. We were greeted promptly and courteously. Each associate working was professional and knowledgeable. The rental process was explained thoroughly. And we left with a viola in hand along with other items the schools orchestra director suggested. It was an overall pleasant experience.
the lessons were very helpful
I enjoy patronizing this family owned local business.
Good relationship over the years; owner very involved in the community.
Instrument rental and returns are easy, simple and hassle free.
Very nice people.
The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service EVER!!!!!! EVER, EVER, EVER!!! I have NEVER had anyone yell at me that is supposed to be providing a service. NEVER! You are taking this neighborhood for granted and it will stop. You should be ashamed.
they keep lying about there time they need to update it
Terrible customer service….did not receive a proper greeting by the staff. In addition, was rudely instructed to take my food out of the facility. I recommend potential customers to shop at village music located in Decatur, Ga muccccchhhh better customer service and pricing.
This place is safe and the sound quality is like no other. State of the art equipment. Demos, LP, EP it doesnt matter this is the place you wanna go to record any project from hip hop to Rnb. And the engineer Jak is cool af he is very diverse. I will say he is about his business so have you music ready and your money right!! He also does masters.
I love this place.. great environment to be a part of
This is the best recording studio!! Jak is very professional and truly talented! I highly recommend this studio!

Friendly helpful staff, wide selection of instruments, and reasonable prices. Glad to have a go to spot for music supplies here in the city 🙂
Great little shop with everything you need. I didn’t feel pressured to buy and wasn’t upsold on anything more than I needed. Charlie was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Called them with questions about a Marimba. These guys were SO helpful and patient with answering my questions.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great instrument options for guitars and percussion. The location is not the best part of town; otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.
Solid.
There is a lot I like about this place, but there is definitely a problem with sexism here. The staff seems to be entirely white and male, and one staff member in particular has consistently been very patronizing to me. Without any prior familiarity with me, he consistently assumed I lack any knowledge or expertise. He told me things about my own gear as if I couldn’t possibly understand it on my own. He told me that I would be able to settle on one type of guitar I liked once I had “some experience.” At one point, while trying out a guitar, I noted it was out of tune. I was about to tune it when he quickly took it from me, saying he would be able to tune it faster than I could. (This did not turn out to be true. He actually seemed to have some trouble with the amp’s tuner.) This particular employee has been there the last few times I’ve been in, and from other employees I’ve experienced a remote surliness. I understand this is the traditional culture of music stores, but I personally am not interested in participating anymore. It’s a shame, because I think the store has a good selection and good prices, and it’s in my neighborhood. But until the culture at the store changes, I’ll unfortunately be using ebay.
I called on a Saturday to see if a kick drum could be repaired. The gentleman I was speaking with informed the drum specialist won’t be in until Tuesday to take a look at it. Perfectly understandable. I asked how long could the repair could possibly take, which seemed like a reasonable question, but the guy I was speaking with had an entire meltdown! Started talking aggressively and rudely. I told him to relax because it was a simple question. I won’t ever do business with this company. If this is how you react to and treat people for asking simple questions, I can’t imagine the level of service would be any better.
We were looking for a pre-owned Taylor or Martin acoustic guitar. We’re from out of town and had somewhere to be so we only had about 25 minutes to look around. At first everyone was nice while we looked around, both of our kids are involved heavily in music so they spent their time there trying out instruments to which the gentleman attending (I could assume owner) was kind and attentive. Until we turned down sale of a keyboard, at which point he decided to approach my autistic son while on a small drum kit and scream at him for being too big for it. I’m no fan of leaving places in handcuffs, so I didn’t cave in his face, I decided a well deserved poor review and exposure to the public what a peice of trash he is would suffice. Trying Dirt Cheap Music nearby instead.
*update following response from the owner
It is fair to say that your employee had a right to address the issue, but screaming and belittling an autistic child isn’t the way to go about it. Furthermore, my initial feelings of rage as a protective father are quite normal and my decision to take a more appropriate route is not something I am ashamed of in the slightest. Neither of them damaged anything and nothing was kicked or struck with any kind of force by either child. You responded defensively and completely missed the point. To scream at the child in an aggressive manner, autistic or not is unacceptable and the employee could have delivered the exact same message in a better tone and achieved far better results. I honestly can’t imagine any scenario that aggressively yelling at a person in your store achieves any positive results.
Highly recommend for anyone professional and those making that first track. Dash is a master technician. Tracks gone come out how you want it
Dope set-up and the Engineer was GREAT!!!!!!
Mainstream is a great recording studio. Very clean environment. Cool vibes. Very comfortable environment. You have your own recording time to yourself no other people around, and not to mention very affordable prices.

POSTA’s one of the best producers I’ve ran into. I explained my situation of having bad luck with many engineers in the past and how I’ve wasted thousands of dollars on mixing and mastering only to be disappointed in the outcome. Not only has he helped me “find my voice”, but anytime I need him to fix something here and there on a track he’s already finished, it’s free of charge. Definitely the guy to talk to if you you are serious about your craft.
