It was genuinely a pleasure meeting and speaking with Russell, the work they do restoring pianos is fascinating.
We worked with Russell over the last four months to acquire the right piano for our family’s need and budget. Russell quickly zeroed in on the size and type of piano we wanted and after a short wait located a perfect piano for us, which was a 2001 Yamaha C1. Given the age of the piano we didn’t expect perfection but obviously we wanted a piano that was well refurbished and free of any major defects. When the piano arrived our expectations were far exceeded as the piano was nothing short of pristine–in fact, the piano movers thought the piano was a new model. The piano is absolutely spotless, immaculately cleaned and quite simply stunning in our home.
If you’re looking for excellent value in a piano and have the patience to let Russell find and prepare a piano for you, we can’t recommend him any more highly.
Thank you Russell, we’re sure this piano will be in our family for many years to come.
Recently had the pleasure of visiting the Piano Oulet in person and chosing a grand piano. It was fully restored and restrung / tuned and safely delivered a few months later. Could not be happier with the piano and all of the dedication that went into making it look brand new, sound and play amazing, and arrive safely in our home!
Recently I had a written agreement with the owner of this company and once he had possession of my piano and learned that I did not want him to upgrade the player, he disregarded our contract and demanded more money for the delivery and asked that I remove my piano ASAP. He will not let me on the property to speak with him or inspect the piano nor anyone else who may be intrerested in purchasing it.
I would NOT reccomend anyone do business with this company and now feel forced to sue him for what is rightfully mine..
I was a potential buyer, I just got litteraly hung up over the phone by a rude Mr Russell, when I asked politely if the price could be negociable if we didn’t go through ebay, where the piano in question is listed. I hope Mr. Russell treats walking customers better than the condescending way he treated me over the phone. Imagine if you have a real problem and you have to deal with a short temper, low-patience guy like him. Find another job man.
In August of 2019 I decided to sell my 6′ Yamaha PianoDisc system purchased from Russell Housen at his store: Piano Outlet. During the moving process the movers discovered the piano itself had been previously extensively damaged and repaired making the total value of the piano with the piano disc system worth now only a total of about $9,000. This of course distressed me since Mr. Housen of Piano Outlet has ostensibly sold a well treated piano plus PianoDisc system to me for $18, 000 in October of 2017. The movers showed me the areas where the damages had been done and repaired and how to detect them using a flashlight properly. The piano otherwise looks and sounds very good. The other item the movers noted on close inspection was that one of the legs was likely not part of the original piano. In Mr Housen’s marketing material he states that his pianos were essentially showpieces, meaning they were placed in homes for looks; rarely played; and otherwise just sat in people’s homes. Yet when Mr. Housen was reminded that his piano arrived lacking paint on the black keys due to extensive playing, he stated that he would send me a bottle of paint so I could paint the keys! Accordingly, I am not happy with Piano Outlet and it’s proprietor and have given the store at 3775 NW 124th Avenue Coral Gables, South Florida 33063 a rating of one star (*).

A buddy of mine asked about guitar lessons for his daughter after summer was over and the rigors of school life returned. Having dealt with Gary many times in the past, I knew the Guitar Exchange was the place for her. I called Gary and set it up. She just had her 1st lesson and absolutely enjoyed it! Her dad was so impressed he bought a guitar and is now taking lessons too! I highly recommend the Guitar Exchange!!!
Been taking lessons at Guitar Exchange for a while now. Great independent shop!
could use more extended range guitars
I bought a cheap USED guitar from Gary a while back, just to learn. When the time came to upgrade he would not take it as a part of payment nor in consignment, I was stuck with it. He must have taken it from someone else to sell but he would not take it back from me, not nice. The guitar was in the same condition as when I bought it.
He does not give prices over the phone. Fine, I buy online. I don’t have time to waste to see if I can get a competitive price by going out of my way to the store. The few times I have gone to the store I get MSRP.
I gave three stars because he is not all that bad, just not good enough for me.
My first visit to Sam Ash Music Store was extraordinarily good. I discovered them on the internet. Talking to ALEX about the purchasing of the right Microphone was made seemless when I visited. His wealth of information allowed me to make a purchase. Thank you Alex. You are the STAR.
Excellent customer service… Surprised my son with a custom DW drum kit. Julian C. Macfarlane was the sales manager on top of my sale from start to finish. Because this was a custom kit it did take about three months which I was forewarned. Julian kept me updated every step of the way. Hats off to this knowledgable, professional manager. He is an asset to Sam Ash and the reason I will continue to purchase our equipment from there. Thanks for going above and beyond Julian and helping me with this purchase of these awesome DW drums.
Such a nice place and the employees are nice and know what they’re doing
Today I went in to get a new guitar chord, some picks, and some sax reeds. I was able to find what I needed but this is not why I’m putting this review out, I had questions about my acoustic guitar pick-up. I appreciate their patience with me and I’m grateful that they were able to help me to understand and identify the missing link. If any of you musicians are reading this then you probably already know that I need a Preamp. They have a pretty good deal with the one in the pic, but I didn’t buy it this time. Maybe I’ll get lucky next time.
Unless your about to spend big bucks at the store, the workers just dont have the will to help you, i came there twice and the guitar tech guy never came, all i needed was a new guitar string, they did change it for me but i would rather a guitar tech guy do it, rather the guy whose in charge of the music tab book library to do it, The workers just dont seem happy to work there.
good store, but if you still equipment, it’ll take a good two weeks to get the check, and their account specifically prevents you from cashing the check.
be aware, if you’re selling because you’re tight, better make sure you’ve got somewhere to deposit a check, and have some time to wait.
Don’t ask the staff any questions. You are bothering them beyond belief.
This place is the worst place ever. As soon as you walk in, you contemplate suicide.
Luthier issues here… Brought a bass in to get frets leveled and dressed. Most sounded fine after work was done. After testing, I mentioned that two frets still have a very pronounced buzz. The luthier hesitantly took it back to “fix” the two frets he missed. I went back the next day, and all he did was raise the action a bit more (felt dishonest), and the exact same buzz on those frets was still there.
He probably does fine work in other areas, but it was obvious he didn’t want to go back and re-do the work for those frets (just raised the action). He tried to persuade me that I wouldn’t hear it through the amp (I did hear it! They’re clearly buzzing — even lightly played). Trying to cover things up by raising the action, when he said he’d go back and re-level the frets, is dishonest. Not quality work.

Great store
Always liked this store. Friendly
Jodi w
Staff is friendly, but like any Best Buy most things are overpriced.
Two weekends in a row I have gone in and had a hard time finding help. Today i brought my husband back with me to get my daughters birthday gift thinking maybe they would treat a man better. Nope they are equally awful with costumer service. A staff member walked by finally and we flagged him down and he brushed us off saying he would find someone. No one came. We left and ordered what we went in for from Amazon in the parking lot. We will never go back.
I wish I could put 0 stars. Horrible custom service on the phone. Wasted more time than I thought was even possible to just get in contact with a representative to ask a simple question about a product. I called at 10:10 and never spoke to anyone until 10:50. They need new management ASAP. HORRIBLE!
Second time using the online order/pick up service and every time is worse, the customer service there is really bad, they had issues with the systems update and the employee enjoy the time to be rude with the customer, the store should dedicate more time to implement their employees customer service skills.

Great customer service but you better watch for some rotten apple for example they have an employee name Autum she very rude and talk back to customer with attitude she call herself store manager when she is not just to not help customer with need but as long you avoid this person os a great store with many thing to pick from for you collection .
Tremendo lugar, tienen mucha variedad de cosas.
This place would have got a better rating, but i didn’t like the club upsale pitch.
Nostalgic ITEMS SELLING OLD CDS , DVDS ,VYNYLS , COLLECTIBLE ITEMS, anime books, INSIDE CORAL SPRINGS MALL NEXT TO CARNIVAL SHOES . I just love it , swoop back to the 90s
The store has a wide variety of video and audio collection of all kinds. Movies are well categorised in various sections which makes it convenient to select. Staff is super helpful.
Lady with short
Hair maybe manager was so rude to my kids yelling at then and telling them they couldn’t buy a fidget spinner even though they had them and she was rolling her eyes. Other wise great deals!
Hollow museum of late 90’s early 2000’s with some current pop culture memorabilia scattered around.
Happy with all my purchases, staff know their job and are happy to help. Love shopping here
My Favorite Place.
Drove from Boca for a class. no one seemed to know anything about it. Finally I found a guy in the know. “Oh that guy didn’t show up …. no class.” Kind of cranked me off. Not a lot of choice around here so I’ll give them another shot.
Great store. My husband is learning to play the guitar. Very customer service oriented.
When I lived in Florida we went at least once a month. The one in Ohio is just as great.
Great inventory to choose from. Staff really want to please. Fun stop.
Did not have the FireWire cable I was looking for.
Cant wait for you to close you sell junk an your people should work at Disney with the rest of the Florida phuckin ass holes. Lazy idiots
I called looking for an answer to a simple question only to happily wait on the phone ringing for 5 minutes, after my call was eventually answered I was welcomed with a disrespectful staff member who laughed then briefly hung up. If this is the customer service that Guitar Center represents then I will no longer be shopping here. 0/5 stars
I purchased a guitar last week, they really need to work on their customer service skills, they stop being friendly if you did not want to buy their insurance, they push accessories in an aggressive manner not caring about what you really need

been going here for a few year for drums and guitar. and before that piano. i dont think i would ever wanna go anywhere else. HI LOU! HI HARRY!
My Kids LOVE A Major Music. The teachers have worked well with my son and daughter one of whom suffers from a social disorder. I have tried other music schools in Coral Springs that were okay but after finding this gem I think we’ll be here for a while. All the teachers I’ve met there seem to really care and love what they do, and it shows through with how happy my kids are there.
Google says the store closes at 8 pm, but I stopped by at 7:40 pm and the lights were off.
