This instructor’s passion for music is contagious. Their enthusiasm and dedication to teaching have reignited my love for singing. I look forward to every lesson.
Loved it and received helpful tips!
She recorded the lessons so my daughter could refer back to them, and even sent me texts to help my daughter with some understanding. Willie is an amazing business owner and all-around person. He circled back around a few weeks in to make sure things were running smoothly. I WAS SO GLAD HE ASKED! I told him no, my daughter is kind of lost. He made sure I got with Marissa to support my daughter with all of the extra help she needed! It’s all smooth sailing now, and my little lady loves to learn and practice her songs.
2. Mark’s Guitar Exchange
Address: 3233 Midway Dr, San Diego, CA 92110 , Coronado , California , United States
Best guitar shop in town!!! Never had a bad experience in years of coming here. Just what you’re looking for in a local shop.
Great help, they really took the time to give good advice and were super patient
Ran in during my lunch to buy a Bass gig bag/case. They got one for me in a hurry and I was out the door trying to get back to work and not be late. Great people. Super helpful. Personal service. Must go and see this smallish place with big smiles!
Very friendly staff. Traditional guitar brands only. When I asked them to order an Ibanez, they let me know that they aren’t an Ibanez dealer and therefore can’t order one. For the same reason, they couldn’t properly price the instruments that I tried to trade in. This makes sense, I should have called ahead before taking the trip. Instead, they gave me advice where to sell my guitars.
On a side note, guitar center couldn’t deliver either, so I ended up buying 2 top notch guitars from FGN which is the house brand of the factory that makes Ibanez’ high end products.
I love this place and would give it 5 stars, but it’s no-dog policy really made things difficult for a pedestrian whose pet is the Houdini of dogs. 😉
Seriously, it’s a great guitar store. I just hope that it reconsiders its no-dog policy.
Literally the only place near downtown SD to get a guitar repair…
Too much inventory on the floor makes it hard to navigate the room. The repairman had a rude retort to anything I inquired about and when I finally got the info I wanted (I just wanted to buy some strings) he goes into a dissertation on the packaging detailing cost and contents like I was a child. Will not recommended and will not spend another minute there.
This tiny store made me almost have an anxiety attack from how little room they had to move around. If there are 2 or more people in the store when you walk in…. then I would recommend just walking straight back out. My husband is in a band and recently purchased a vintage ‘66 fender guitar that he was talking to one of the workers about. My husband then asked that same worker if he could try out one of the guitars in the shop. The worker didn’t want to let him try out the guitar and made a huge deal about it. (After that my husband didn’t even want to try it out if that is how they were going to act). If that wasn’t bad enough…. what really made me ANGRY, was that literally as my husband was handing back the guitar that he was practically guilted into not wanting to even touch. The other worker willingly offered for a 12 YEAR OLD to try out a guitar!!!!!!! If they don’t want people to try their guitars, that’s one thing, but telling someone who obviously respects guitars (due to the fact that he has a vintage one) that they have to be CAREFUL and to not play the guitar much, and then turn around and willingly let a 12 YEAR OLD try out a guitar is ludicrous!!!!!!!! So if you want to be the only person in a store just LOOKING at guitars like as if you are in an art gallery, except art that you can barely see because it’s so squished together… then sure….go ahead. I was appalled.
Could not use wife’s card though I was ready to buy a Martin. She gave me her DL also. Would speak to him, too. Nope.
He said she had to be there. Huh? (She wasn’t feeling good). F that. 19th century business acumen. Like to support locally but whoa. Move on folks.
3. Music Store Live
Address: 300 W 28th St Ste #102, National City, CA 91950 , Coronado , California , United States
Just purchased an ibanez wah and Ben assisted me. He was fast with great service! I will buy from them first before any other location!
Ben was very helpful in selecting a new guitar. He was very responsive, answered all of my questions, shipped promptly, and the example came set up beautifully. Highly recommend purchasing here.
It was my first time placing a custom order for a guitar, let alone a Skervesen, and the process was extremely easy as it was enjoyable. Ben, the one who helped me out, was extremely patient and understanding with me as I took a very long time to finally finalize what I officially wanted.
I purchased the electrical piano, Roland RP30. It’s really a good looking piano, but unfortunately, when we received it, the back board of the key was cracked (the parts already built). I couldn’t reach out to the service department so I left the review here.
Ben Anderson helped me to solve the problem. It was a bit of trouble to send the piano back, but he was so helpful and shipped the new piano. My son enjoys playing that piano so much now.
Used to be 5 stars. Now I feel like a bother. Spent alot of money here, guess they don’t need anymore
I have been trying to get in contact with this company for a week. They do not respond to phone calls, phone messages, website messages, or emails. The only way I could get information about a return is through PayPal. I thought my experience would be good because of the reviews. They show 30 day returns, but won’t respond. I gave two stars because they have some products that I couldn’t find anywhere else.
After reading such great reviews , I was looking forward to an order I placed where I was told I was fortunate and that my order was definitely being shipped by end of day. Suddenly after a followup on my order im now told my order was refunded and it was not shipped. I was very disappointed with Ben after reviewing such great reviews. What a shame from such a reputable music store. This unfortunate will be my first and last experience.
A nice little uke beginner package. Well built concert uke. Even came with chord charts and a tuner…and treats! I happen to be a luthier who builds Hawaiian instruments. I got this for my grandson to learn on before I build one for him. Terry Carter is nice to deal with.
Arrived today and I love it!!! Terry Carter Music Store went above and beyond. Thank you!
Ukulele arrived packaged well and on time.
I ordered some heavy, Herco, guitar thumb picks. They are just what I needed and wanted. However, the ad made it sound like I would get a pack that included several picks, with different colors. I was very disappointed when they arrived and it was only 1 pack with 3 picks. I think $7.99 is pretty expensive for just 3 picks.
I enjoyed my first visit
The shop is overpriced and the owner is shady as hell. If you even do the most basic of comparison shopping, you’ll see how much he’s trying to take advantage of ukulele players.
Carter’s NOT the only game in town and uke players deserve better.
it has been 6 days and I still have not received my strings I will never buy another thing from you I EVEN HAD TO PAY FOR SHIPPING! ! !
Well product said ukelele humidification system and ended up just humidification pouches that are way too big for ukelele sound hole only able to put in case with instrument wasn’t really what I was looking for thought they’d be smaller I’ll use till I find something better like Dadario guitar type with humidity pouches shipping was kinda slow also I guess their a bit smaller than guitar ones not much though
5. Cold Stone Creamery
Address: 1201 1st St Ste 220, Coronado, CA 92118 , Coronado , California , United States
Excellent Service! Great for a hot day at the beach!
had a shake made from cheesecake, coffee
, and sweet cream flavored ice cream. Good stuff.
Ms. Arlette (sp)? definitely was the most beneficial and informative customer service representative myself and visually impaired Mother have ever experienced in Coronado.
It was Labor Day, must have been 20 customers surrounding us in the store. From the moment we walked in however, she was able not only to provide us with delicious new ice cream flavors we’ve never had before. She handled our order with what felt like such personal 1-on-1 care while at the same time had us in and out and sitting in the shade enjoying even more than what we came for.
I’m just writing this swiftly so excuse any blurpy bloops in my communication/writing (I’m multitasking & honestly the only thing I’m good at multitasking at is failing to complete two things at the same time).
I mostly just felt compelled to share with the world, if ever you’re wanting to enjoy a treat during your vacation on a busy weekend in such a glorious town such as Coronado. Just hope Arlette is the gal that’s going to be helping you. Ideally, anywhere.
Wow, I just reread this. Hopefully she’ll open a “how to say things in english” store!
: D
Small selection, good service.
The ice cream is good but there is a bad smell like a sewage by the counter
Was in and out quick even tho there was a line, the place was clean and the shakes were pretty good, also not that expensive. Would definitely come back
The ice cream was half melted when we bought it at the store. The rest melted so quickly that we had to put our ice creams in trash! Our clothes and hands got really messy!
Disorganized staff. Ice cream was fresh.
Poor service felt discriminated against just felt like they did not want my family their and they charged meame $16 for two kids cones very rude lady that helped me has a real ugly attitude
6. Sam Ash
Address: 3418 College Ave, San Diego, CA 92115 , Coronado , California , United States
WOW! Totally undxpected great experience. I’ve seen Sam Ash online for years. Never knew they had a storefront until visiting San Diego. I went in with low expectation and with no intentions other than looking. Upon entry, warmly greated by someone with a smile at the front desk. 3 min after walking to the first wall of guitars, asked by someone else if I need help. Told him no, but thanks and continued looking. Great selection. I was surprised. Better than guitar center and a bit larger. Pulled an axe off the wall. Staff pointed me to a cord and as I plugged into a marshall DSL-100 he suggested I also try a 2nd amp when finished as he was really impressed by this other amp when it came in. Finally someone who knows gear and shows enthusiasm like me! I ended up walking out with a new guitar. No pressure from staff, felt like I was hanging out with friends, no huge crowd like GC, what’s not to like. I wish this place was in my neighborhood in northern CA. Way to go guys – you Rock. Shout out to Rudy who helped me and the 2nd guy who rang up the transaction – sorry can’t recall his name but he was super cool too.
I never do reviews, but I thought my experience at this Sam Ash location deserved one. I was looking to buy a new guitar so I could get back into playing. (I hadn’t played in years)
I usually get an okay experience at best when shopping retail, but Junior was able to give me customer service worth talking about. He was friendly, didn’t try to up sell me, and was ultimately just genuinely try to help me.
Really happy with my experience here. I ended up exchanging the first guitar I initially bought for a model that better suit my needs. They returned the first guitar with no questions ask and even price matched Guitar Center for the model I wanted to exchange it for. No brainer 5 star review. I’ll come back here for my future musical needs.
In the eternal search of guitar amplifiers, we knelt before the $45 three-day rental in order to shave down our quest. Sometimes I feel like an exotic fisherman, in search of the Great River Monster that’s been gobbling up locals. This place yields some great used finds, way cheaper than expected—and skips the trials of mail order. Very chill atmosphere. I scored big; we happy.
Quality new and shiny instruments, a helpful and friendly staff with lots of deals on various equipment. This store seemed to have it all together with a well put together store…the bathrooms were decent as well. With ample parking out front, it’s worth a visit.
Wes is very helpful, the gentleman before him sold me an item that was opened already and missing pieces . They switched it for a new one .
If you’re a person of African decent don’t waste your time going here! I was highly disappointed w/ the lack of customer service I received on July 16th last night. The store was FAR FROM BUSY! And I received far below the expectation of standard customer service. I ended up buying online because the guy kept me waiting for 30mintues while he did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT THE COUNTER HE WAS AT! And when I finally went back up to him because he was taking forever he said OH, OH let me check on that, well what were you doing this entire time while I watched you, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! So sad! That will be my last In store visit 🙁 ! Really nice stuff, horrible staff
Manager said he was going to give me a discount and he didn’t
Manager is useless and disrespectful I would never buy anything here.
