My son has been taking Music Lessons from Big Note Music for the past two months and it has been going great! They are very professional, and easy to work with. We have also gotten instrument repair and accessories from them, and have had a great experience. I highly recommend them for all services!

As a band director, Big Note is the BEST. Here is my experience:

BEGINNING OF YEAR MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS: After meeting the business owner through work with Atlanta CV, I decided to try them out for the first time this past summer. They showed up early on the morning we agreed to and then spent approximately 8 hours sitting in our parking lot repairing instruments. Since there were so many repairs, they happily offered to come back the next day, where they continued working for about 5 more hours! They probably fixed 30 instruments, and did a FANTASTIC job on every single one. It is also important to note that these repairs stood the test of an entire marching band season. (July 9-November 5 for us). They fixed the instruments and they stayed in working/playing condition all year.

EMERGENCY REPAIRS: We have had 2 different occasions where an instrument needed to be repaired on extremely short notice. On both occasions, Big Note was knocking on our band room door within a couple of hours to repair the instrument. The latest instance of this was today where they took a sousaphone that was absolutely destroyed and repaired it within an hour. My assistant and I were both blown away.

FREE REPAIRS: I don’t know if this is normal practice, but on 2 different occasions, they fixed one of my personal instruments. They made special trips out to my school and charged me absolutely nothing. They are very good people.

COST: Same if not slightly cheaper than the other music stores I work with. The difference is that instead of being out an instrument for a week, you’re only out for an hour or so.

BILLING: They have made it work with my county’s school requisition process. No problems here.

BOTTOM LINE: 1) They do great work. 2) They do it for reasonable rates. 3) You get the instrument back WAY faster than if you went to your local music store or send it off with a sales rep. As a band director, I will continue using them to repair my school-owned instruments and I would recommend other band directors to do the same.

The store was easy to find, they had everything we needed conveniently, and had excellent customer service.

Unfortunately, they never called or emailed me back. I waited almost 2 weeks to schedule a repair with them after they visited my son’s school.
I guess they have enough business.

I’ve been shopping here for over a decade. This is the first time I have EVER had to make a return was today. I was told there was a 7 day return policy. NO WHERE on the receipt does it indicate a 7 day policy. Very disappointed that the owner John (after all these years being of being a loyal customer) argue with me over this return.

Poor teaching, and don’t miss a lesson without notice, they will not understand and will continue to take your money.

Went there today to start a free week trial…the class was canceled and the manger didn’t really make effort to convince us to join. It was a group of us trying to find a gym to work out after work. The gym to under new management since December and there was alot of out of order signs. If your going to be the highest price around and your only saleing point is your open 24 hours…which so is everybody else…just a let down because I heard good things…

Awesome. Friendly staff and a great experience. They had strings for my 12 string guitar which was nice. While they weren’t my preferred string, they were priced great and it’s my fault I was in a pickle for them. Thankful these folks were there.

Good service and very knowledgeable

They helped purchase the wrong size violin for my daughter the first time in person. Then when I ordered a 2nd one on the website they cancelled my order without even letting me know. When I called them I was told there was nothing that could be done.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering a keyboard, keyboard stand, and stool from Music and Arts, and I must say that my overall experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, this company has displayed a complete lack of competence and customer service, leaving me frustrated and furious.

First and foremost, the lack of transparency regarding the availability of the items I ordered is inexcusable. It wasn’t until I called them in late January to inquire about my order that I was informed about the backorder situation. I wasted over a month eagerly waiting for my package, completely unaware that it wasn’t even close to being shipped.

Finally, in late March, I received the keyboard, but to my utter disbelief, there was no sign of the promised stand or stool. Naturally, I contacted their customer service department to rectify the situation, only to be met with complete apathy and indifference. They claimed that they couldn’t help and that I wouldn’t receive the missing items. This level of disregard for their customers is absolutely appalling.

To my surprise, a month later, I received a second shipment containing another keyboard, stand, and stool. At this point, I was beyond frustrated. Instead of providing clear communication and instructions, Music and Arts remained silent. I waited, hoping they would reach out to resolve the situation, but instead, I received an invoice in the mail, demanding payment for the duplicate order.

Determined to resolve the matter, I called customer service once again to explain the ongoing issues. Initially, they assured me that I wouldn’t be charged and that everything was under control. However, my hopes were crushed when, a month later, I discovered that they had charged my credit card for yet another keyboard. This not only angered me but also meant that I would have to pay interest on an item I never even wanted in the first place.

Attempting to rectify the situation, I contacted their customer service yet again, only to be met with further frustration. They insisted that they would not process a refund until I returned the unwanted items, putting the burden on me to take time out of my schedule to deal with returning their mistakes to UPS. This added insult to injury, as it is their responsibility to resolve their own errors promptly.

To make matters even worse, the following day, I received a bill from a collections agency, demanding payment for the keyboard that I had never authorized. It is unfathomable that Music and Arts would make an unauthorized purchase on my credit card, showcasing their complete lack of professionalism and respect for their customers.

All in all, my experience with Music and Arts has been nothing short of a nightmare. They have consistently demonstrated incompetence, apathy, and a complete disregard for their customers’ time and money. Not only did they fail to provide the items I ordered in a timely manner, but they also made unauthorized charges on my credit card and showed no urgency in resolving the matter. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business with Music and Arts to steer clear and find a more reputable company that values its customers. Music and Arts, you truly suck!

Watch Your Bank Account Or Credit Card Statement If Renting From Them. They Randomly Charged My Account For About 6 Times The
Amount Of The Normal Rental And When I Called They Gave Me An 888 Number . I Called Them And They Said It Was The Collections Department So After Being On Hold For Over 20 Minutes They Finally Found Out It Was A Mistake And Will Credit My Account Back In 2 To 3 Days.

I find it hard to believe a store would go out of their way to lose a potential sale. I live in Carrollton Georgia so I don’t get out there much and I asked to exchange an un-used microphone I purchased from them (over 90 days ago) for another item. They told me no. That’s basically it. Who says that to a potential customer? I know your starving for business but ok I’ll purchase elsewhere from now on. I like companies that are interested in my business. I recommend Willcutt guitars

Wasn’t able to be in this store for 5 minutes trying to find my 4 year old an instrument to learn without two of the employees hounding him to not touch anything. As a professional musician trust me I have my son trained to be careful around expensive instruments. I also picked up a guitar to play and think about purchasing it but the guy told me they are supposed to bring it down and hand it to me, I said I know how to handle a guitar and he says “not a $1,300 guitar” I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Staff is helpful to get the sale but be careful… Merchandise is expensive and there’s no returns because of Covid. They don’t tell you about that detail before you spend your money!

Great music teachers, great store! Anyone involved with orchestra here knows Katheen Jones is the best string teacher in the area!! She is very knowledgeable and professional. Our daughter took lessons from her for 12+ years and became very accomplished on the violin at the college level. She was always 1st or 2nd chair in orchestra, winning competions, and excelled with her music due to Kathleens top teaching methods. She’s very caring with her students, and brings out the best in them! Thank you for many years of teaching excellence, and shaping our daughters future!

Been renting my daughter flute from here and had to get it service. Received excellent service from Cailey from beginning to end. We were able to leave with a loaner and return with a week for our instrument. Very pleased with service, knowledgeable staff, and cost.

This rating is in no way regarding the store itself, but pertains more to the on-line side of the business overall. I placed an order for a cleaning kit through Music and Arts on-line store for my son days ago and have yet to receive the product. When I called customer service for an update this week I was told the kit was on back order and no update was available as to when it would be completed. I called again the next day for an update and again. I was told they didn’t know when the order would be completed and that they sent an email to the Associate handling the issue which should take a day or two for a response. It’s now day 3 and I have yet to hear from anyone. What concerns me the most is that I never received communication the order was on back order day one and that it’s now day 3 and I have yet to receive a call from a Supervisor or the business with an update. I placed the order online initially thinking it would arrive to my son whose away in college sooner than it would take me to purchase it in store and pay for shipping. Now, I’m having to drive to their store which is more than an hour away, purchase the kit and pay for shipping. It’s going to cost me more in gas, time, purchasing the product and pay to ship it myself. I would advise ANYONE to buy from this business online. The customer service is very poor!

SCAMMERS. We rented an instrument for school. When Covid hit and schools went online they would not give us a chance with the instrument payments. They kept unfairly charging us while everything was on hold. Many calls to the store did not help. These people are scammers. Do not buy or rent from them They dont care about the customer.

How do you run a business by closing for lunch with no return time listed on your away sign?! Took my business to Ken Stanton instead. Poor business practice made you miss out on a $300 sale.

I’d have given a full five stars but I didn’t see any Jackson guitars, no really I was just killing some time and the staff was very friendly and if anyone wants a Ibanez guitar with Floyd rose these guys actually had a very impressive sale going on

Friendly staff, clean environment and plenty of stools to sit in if you decided to pick up a guitar and play. But unfortunately the the selection was not there for me. Not trying to be negative but it really seemed as a store where somebody had went around for a while picking out the best guitars they could find at surrounding pawn shops cleaned them up and opened a store. Not saying you can’t find a good guitar at a pawn shop and not saying that they didn’t have guitars there just very dry selection.

We love the acoustic guitar room at Guitar Center. Try it before you buy it! Nice folks, no pressure. Makes me feel like a kid in a candy store! We’ll be back!

Manager Brandon is an asset to this store. He is very helpful and goes out of his way to make and get things right. I can always trust his help. Employees have also been very attentive.

Kids enjoy hanging behind the counter more than discerning customer needs. Seemingly not trained in the breadth of most musical voices, but rather, specializing….and not too impressive. Sometimes, paying just a bit more at long time competitor is worth it.

Worst customer service ever! Management need to be involved and retrain staff.

Staff liked to stand in the middle of the store and chat with each other. Didn’t receive a welcome or a goodbye. Played a 1700 tele was never asked how I liked it or if wanted to try anything else. I couldn’t even get an employee to help me put the guitar back on the wall.

My experience with these folks is that they are in it to help musicians. Surely running a music store (or any retail store) has some unique challenges. However, these folks are VERY receptive to any suggestions and are giving a nice flavor to the downtown area. Very positive VIBE. Stop by and talk with the owner. Very generous to the DDA and the city. Good citizens.

I wish more music stores were like Guitars-N-More. The people were all very helpful and friendly. They gave me an amazing deal on a sweet ltd flying v and an Ibanez amp. Best expeience I’ve had with any music store. I’ll be doing all my business there in the future, and I live two hours away!
