They had exactly what I needed! Very helpful staff.
Friendly and helpful staff and quite a selection of items!
Did not have what i was looking for but nice people and store
This is a fairly good True Value, with the standard hardware, paint and garden supplies in stock, as well as a decent array of hunting and fishing equipment.
Your treatment as a customer in the store will vary widely. The the loading dock is either understaffed or incompetently staffed, and I have loaded my own materials on multiple occasions after waiting for over 20 minutes, and even returning inside the store to request help loading and never receiving it.
Customer service inside is equally inconsistent. Sales staff rarely approach you, and this may be advantageous if you are not the sort of person who appreciates being approached by salespeople. However, if you have questions, it can be difficult to find the answers.
Prices too vary widely, with many products outcompeting national average prices providing great local bargains, while other prices are far higher than average retailers.
Nice clean True Value, but they didn’t honor my True Value membership.
Wonderful people. Great help. Well organized and clean. Store was sort on several basics.
Have been doing business with them for three years . . Until today. Purchased 4 bags of all purpose sand 70# each. Got home, even I could lift without problem. Weighed bag – 32 lbs. Went back, was told the loader made a mistake and the computer was wrong (“all these years”), but now they have corrected it (whatever that means). Told them I was disappointed and the young man at the counter started to argue that it was “just a mistake and I shouldn’t worry about it or be disappointed”. Informed him I could take my business to Hot Springs, and he insinuated and then insulted me saying; “it would be foolish for me to drive 35 miles to HS and 35 miles back”. The mistake and ‘explanation’ is acceptable. The disrespect is not. Will not do business there again.

The store hours have changed so I’ve added a picture. The store is stocked and ready to bargain. I bought a queen slay bed frame like new here today for only $15. I’d definitely say make it a stop on your list.
It’s a small town, so stock is limited, but lots of books, and twice a year they have a sale, fill a plastic bag for a dollar.
The workers at shop are so very diligent, kind and helpful! It is so nice that proceeds go toward the Mt Ida senior center to help out needs there. It is a treat to browse and find nice used clothing,, shoes and artsy items. Such a lovely place to shop for treasures and useful home items.
Love finding treasures??@❤❤❤

Incredibly fast service and very affordable. They patched my tire in 15 minutes. No appt. Perfect.
They always do right by me. Fast and friendly. They don’t seem to adjust price by gender so that’s nice.
Good mechanic on duty.
Great Service and fast!
Fast, friendly, and good priced
The older guy was RUDE as hell!!!! My family and I were headed out camping for the weekend and our tire blew as we came into mt ida. Luckily it was right next to this tire shop. Good price but very, very, very rude attitude. Not helpful with the stressful part of it at all. Younger guy working there helped us out a lot more and you could tell even he was annoyed by the old fart.
6. Fiddler’s Ridge Rock Shop
Address: 3752 Hwy 270 E, Mt Ida, AR 71957 , Mount Ida , Arkansas , United States
The inside seating was closed due to COVID-19, but we sat in the outside seating and enjoyed a nice lunch after hunting for crystals all morning.
I decided to treat myself with a footlong and asked for salt and pepper. I took one bite and threw it away. Way too salty to eat. What a waste of $15,
I was charged $27.00 for a large drink, a small bag of chips and a 12″ sandwich at the Mount Ida location.
I will never spend another dime in subway again. They can keep their super expensive, yet mediocre on their best day, food.
I understand inflation. I recall thinking $12.00 was high for a sandwich. This is much more than inflationary!
Was going to eat at this establishment, but apparently being a small town restaurant means they won’t honor online coupons. Wasted time getting an order together just to cancel it. $66 for 4 sandwiches? Yea just eat out at one of the sit down restaurants and spend less. Not worth it for lunch meat and bread.

This place is spectacular. I would highly recommend going in. The owners were so kind. 🙂
AMAZING!!!
Great variety of rocks minerals and fossils. Definitely a stop if you are in the area
Nice shop with a nice variety.
Great place to shop for beautiful rocks and minerals for gifts or souvenirs.
Very nice people that own and run it! Nice rocks and assorted keepsakes
I called about a broken crystal arrowhead they sold my sister as a gift for me. Quality is a big deal shopping in a place like this. He said SORRY. NO RETURNS when I called to tell him. He was not nice about it either. I dont reccomend shopping here.
9. Wegner Quartz Crystal Mines
Address: 82 Wegner Crystal Ranch Rd, Mt Ida, AR 71957 , Mount Ida , Arkansas , United States
We recently visited Arkansas on a whim with the kiddos since they were off for thanksgiving. We ended up at crater of diamond state park. After my kids splashed enough people with mud and wire out their welcome, someone suggested the Wegner mines as they are much more fun and engaging. To that person, thank you.
Wegner mines was awesome. My kiddos had a blast, and all the grownups did too. Constance, who took us up to the mine was awesome and she made everything twice as fun. I would suggest this over crater of diamonds in a heart beat.
For your trip, I’d suggest bringing a backpack with snacks, something to drink, a shovel or rake, something to crack some rocks with like a small pick or hammer and a bucket(or two) for all the goodies you will find. Also, just accept that you will get dirty before you go and wear something you can wash because you can really get into it and don’t wana worry about the little stuff like laundry.
Jay was amazing and shared so much information with us. The whole experience was so fun . Would say this is a must stop for a great time.
Thank you Karen
It’s just a really nice place to get away from it all for a couple of hours
Smaller than expected Crystal’s. Nice, friendly folks. Would probably go back.
We had a good time here, friendly staff, great many beautiful rocks to purchase, great selection. The mine however is not like a cave mine, it’s a partially excavated area with a few trees for shade. But in July it is HOT, lots of people complained about the heat. We did the Crystal mining and got a bunch of clear crystal stones but nothing bigger than maybe an inch. The buckets they loan you are 1/2 the size of a Home Depot bucket. And the tools they lend you are small plastic garden shovels and a screw driver. Suggest you bring a campers pick and a small 3 prong rake with you, That’s what locals were using, if you want better results than we got. There are some very beautiful rocks to bring home with lsyers of sedimentary rocks, we took home. We did enjoy our time except for the harsh heat. Next time well bring a beach umbrella!
They were VERY disorganized and gave us NO information on how or where to search for crystals. We arrived about 11:45 and did not get to board the truck to the mine until after 2:30. I understand they were very busy but they need a better system.
We picked up a brochure at a visitor center in northern Arkansas and they spoke highly of Wegner. Stopped today, Monday, to start our adventure in digging. But they were closed. A gentleman was walking out as we were debating what to do and we spoke to him. He was a complete jerk. I understand brochures get outdated. But his attitude when we said we thought it was open 7 days a week because of the brochure…. He snapped back with it’s been like this for years and people do this all the time and the brochures say closed Sunday & Monday.. And let me clarify, we weren’t angry, or with an attitude. It was an “aw shucks we were excited now disappointed” vibe we gave off. He on the other hand, was a complete jerk. Photo shows brochure we had says 7 days a weeks. So MAYBE this dude should have erred on the side of a polite business owner/worker and done some good customer service along the lines of “sorry to hear that you got an old brochure. Do you remember where you got the brochure so we can get them the new brochure with updated information? We’ll make sure they know the changes from now on. I know this doesn’t help you now, We’re not open today, but if you can come back when we are open, we know you’ll have fun.”
He did none of that, was a condescending jerk and if that is the business attitude for their error in not replacing visitor center brochures in Arkansas then they don’t deserve my tourist dollars. I am glad we didn’t hand a dime to him. Instead we went down the road to Avatar and had a spectacular time with Bee & Joe Ray.
We had a bad experience with another mine a few years ago. We chose wegner because they advertise that you can pay to dig in the mine! We had to wait until the next trip to the mine so we paid to go to the tailings pile first. The tailings pile was basically screened dirt that had very small shards of quartz left in it. The crystal forest mine turned out to be several holes that had veins of opaque quarts running through it. We went on Wednesday and were told that they had seeded the mine on Monday so there should still be plenty of good stuff to be found. What we found was that the crystal forest mine is actually the real tailings pile, and because it has small veins of quartz in the holes they can call it a mine. We spent almost $100 that day and all we found were a few shards of quartz, no points. The majority of the pieces we found were so broken that they are indistinguishable from shards of glass.
We took our kids on vacation to Arkansas specifically to mine for quartz, we won’t return to the state!

Address: 124 US-270, Mt Ida, AR 71957 , Mount Ida , Arkansas , United States
Friday April 5th 2017. I had to visit Mt Ida service to get a muffler put on. I got prompt service. .it was inexpensive. The guys all there did a great job. They were helpful and helped me understand all the work they were doing. Prior to this I had purchased 4 new tires from here and again it was a delightful experience. Wendell is always willing to show you all options available to you. I enjoy that they respect a customer whether you are a man or woman.! Definitely worth a visit to a hometown business and support them!
Wendell and his crew are always helpful. They take good care of your vehicle, and will tell you what you need to improve your older models.
Great service and great people. I will be taking my vehicle back them from now on . Keep up the great work.
Great service and fair prices.
Frendly people will help you any way they can
Only non ethylene gas in town.
Rude
Was vacationing from Springfield, MO and the second day of vacation my alternator went out. How it towed to this shop obviously not being from the area had to just go to the closet place that could get the job done in time. After calling me to let me know it was ready, they said not only was the alternator bad, but they had to replace the belt, and tensioner. They charged me over $700. They got the alternator from Oreillys and marked up the part SIGNIFICANTLY. I think they took advantage of the fact that I was from out of town. This was end of July 2021. Here we are Oct 31, 2021…so 3 months later and guess what. The belt they replaced on my alternator is squeaking and bad. I had it looked at and it needs to be all taken apart and fixed. These people are crooks, and apparently completely incompetent. Do not take your vehicle here. Period.
Stopped to have a semi tire fixed here but they stated they didn’t have time to mess with a Truck tire
12. Guido’s Hot Springs Music
Address: National Park, 812 Higdon Ferry Rd, Hot Springs, AR 71913 , Mount Ida , Arkansas , United States
Awesome store. My go to place for care and maintenance on my instruments. When in the market for gear or advice, this is my first stop.
This music shop is the real deal for people who like quality vintage gear. I have recommended this shop to so many people by word of mouth but I figured i ought to go chime in here as well. Guido is a great guy and seems to be real passionate about finding cool gear and getting it into the right hands. I bought a Rhodes eighty-eight from him and it has been recorded many times now at my analog studio in the mountains of southern Arizona. Thanks Guido!
They were very helpful !! Made it very easy to make a choice of what to get!! Will be going back … Oh, he loved it ! 🙂
Great service and reasonable prices.
Does anyone know if $5 is a fair price for two plastic bridge pins we bought here? We also bought a string which was extra, so the total was well over $5 according to the receipt, which I kept. Seems like you can find six bridge pins for $5.99 online with free shipping. Wondering what the price for a full set of six bridge pins is at this store? I’m guessing $15? Just asking… (update Jan 10, 2019: Big Event on Grand sells bridge pins for 75 cents each, as opposed to $2.50 each at Guido’s.)
I bought a 1949 Gibson LG3 from Guido at the Arlington Guitar Show this past weekend that he stated to be all original. Within 24 hours I discovered the bridge had been replaced which effects its value greatly. I asked for some compensation for this change & Guido refused to give me a break on price & refused to take it back. He stated “I should give him back money from our last transaction or he would do nothing for me”. Is this how you want to be treated by a so called expert ? There was no offer ever made to buy back both guitars back from me at all. Never again will I be burned by Guido !
Only doing one star because no stars is not an option.
I’ve dealt with this store a few times and each time it’s literally been worse.
Bought a guitar and the binding broke off immediately – they blamed me.
$200 fix and I had to take it to another music shop I trust.
Asked for help on another matter and they told me it was “too much trouble.”
They literally don’t care about you just wanting your money.
If you do business with them beware.

A Wonderful place! I get many gifts for special occasions from here. Even for baby showers! The owner is most knowledgeable about crystals and other gem stones. He is more than willingly to share his knowledge of the items in his store; and, his knowledge about the area. Make a stop here a MUST! for your visit to Mt. Ida.
Great experience we must have stayed in that shop for an hour. After about ten minutes of looking around we started to chat with the clerk and he was extremely nice! he not only offered us advice on which mines to visit but helped us find a hotel and gave us a map. It’s hard to find people who are still nice and genuine but this man was. We must’ve talked to him for a good 45 minutes. Aside from how nice the owner is, The selection is great he had everything from Bornite (AKA Peacock ore) to Quartz crystals that had been struck by lightning. I would definitely recommend this shop to all crystal enthusiast and even if you aren’t there are still some amazing pieces to see!
A lot of really cool and interesting items, from all over not just local items.
Nice little shop, appeared to be undergoing some changes. Nice selection
