Visited their amazing showroom during Benicia Open Studio Days. Reasonably priced gear. Staff knew guitars. I bought two, a Fender and a Gibson. Eyed an awesome Jazzman bass that I put on layaway. Great customer service!

Brad is an incredible help: Not only was he able to hear out exactly what my issue was, but took the time to explain exactly what he was doing as he was fixing my instrument, answering questions and joking all the same. Vallejo really has a gem in both Consumer Music and Brad.

No wonder local business is dying. Consumer Music has some great employees but their prices are INSANE! I called on a Saturday to see if I could come in and buy some guitar strings. The employee said they were closing but offered to stay open for an extra 15 minutes. It was a very generous offer but I waited till Monday as not to be a burden. On Monday I went in and purchased D’addario electric guitar stings (normally $5 anywhere else) Consumer Music CHARGED $13!! There were also several mediocre guitars ($400 – $600 anywhere else) that Consumer Music was charging upwards of $1000! Great employees; horrible prices.

This was the first music store I found in the Vallejo area. The owner was very nice and accommodating. He led me to a studio in the back of the store to try out a bass and then later we swapped stories of meeting with world-renowned players. I also found a piece for a new bass that I recently acquired in his store. Several kids came in to buy hearts and try out instruments again he was very accommodating. I would recommend this story to anybody in the area.
Absolutely terrible service!! Do not trust them to do any work on your instruments, they had my husband’s guitar for TWO months and they couldn’t figure out how to do a simple install of new pickups. They practically ruined his very expensive PRS, and didn’t even bother to offer a partial refund for taking so damn long while they ruined his guitar. Thanks for taking our money to completely screw up his guitar!!
Called for a very simple setup request. I don’t have the time to sit down and dial in a 1970s bass and I needed it done today, since my regular guy wasn’t available. Just some remaining fret buzz. 20 minutes for a guy whonknows his stuff….easy money that i was willing to pay. I called and explained that I know what I need I’ve been around a long time and it’s a very quick job I’m willing to pay for. Whoever this was on the phone tried to tell me I needed a fret job without even looking at it, and then ask why I couldn’t just do it myself….then put me on hold forn10nminutes to check his schedule.

Im surprised this ghost town store would turn down the business. If you want to buy C level instruments at high prices or maybe just a mic stand or something this might be the shop for you. If you are a pro musician who wants to deal with other Pro musicians, definitely do not go to this dump.

I drove all the way from Alameda to have Steve repair a Selmer Reference 54 tenor sax. I had bought this horn at an auction so the G# key was not working reliably, the neck was loose and various other issues. Steve was able to clean the horn and get everything working again at a reasonable price. He also loosened up the action on the palm and side keys which were originally too stiff. He’s friendly and offers excellent customer service. The best in the business!

Hands down the coolest antique store I have ever been to! I took my baby here to watch The Addams Family in their VHS room where they had the sweetest little kittens running around. When I looked around the shop, I gasped when I saw they had a vintage Garfield phone AND Lisa Frank Merch! We will definitely be returning! The Cat Vintage is an amazing place that adds a real sparkle to the city of Crockett!

Awesome little store for young kids and adults ones, found great little sunglasses for my infant, and a pocket kite to enjoy at the marina. Also they have great selection of toys for all ages and some music essentials. A joy to visit and peruse.

Unfortunate that it is a toy store and not a music store as they claim. Also unfortunate they sell items that other local stores are already sell instead of coming up with their own ideas. Disappointing that it is not as helpful and creative as it was a decade ago.
Update: I lowered my rating to two stars because of the annoying teenage staff bad mouthing parents while I was shopping in the store. I decided to not buy anything. Teach your staff manners, respect, and customer service.

Love these teachers! My son is hard to work with, but his teacher Charles is always very patient and nice to him, my son really thinks of him as a good friend. My foster daughter’s teacher – Michaela is so kind and helpful. She really focuses on her students and brings out some really wonderful abilities from their lessons! Good job!
Expensive but good people and customer service
The place is decent but it could be better. They should clean up the old stuff that clatters the hall and dust the pianos. Also, the lesson room definitely could use some improvement in terms of the pianos and acoustics. They should tune them and apply new insulation. I think the lesson room is a bit too small.

Good store and nice service
I brought in my guitar to have it restrung and it took them four days to turn it around, they didn’t even tune it. The associate who I left it with was really unorganized and, when I picked it up, they didn’t ask for my work order slip or any info—anybody could have walked in and left with it. This was my first time using their services and I likely won’t go back.
Had a drum lesson scheduled for 2:30. Teacher showed up at 2:45 and ended the lesson 15 minutes later. Most of the 15 minutes was not focused on teaching me drumming. What a disappointment.
I would give this place negative stars if I could. Went In to actually buy a guitar, started playing an acoustic softly and got asked to leave at 12:30 in the day. If you can’t play a guitar, how can you know which one to buy? No lessons going on either. Treated like a piece of S*** and All I wanted to do was give them business. Terrible experience, terrible establishment.

Awesome spot!!! Just opened and already has a great catalog of stuff. Great decor and vibe. Johnny knows his stuff and has created an awesome space to record hunt and honestly just hang out. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
