friendly and helpful, the entire staff knows their stuff
Great service!
I love this place. One of the last family run hardware stores around. People should support it as much as possible very kind people very helpful. I get what I need 99% of the time and if they do not have what you need they will steer you in the right direction. Another thing is I was under the impression for some reason that they closed around noon or 1:00 on Saturdays not the case they’re open until 5:00 yay
It is much closer than going into Deland for us. Has a lot of items
Has little bit of everything.
Lots of goodies. Didn’t have any dust masks for sanding
Went in to ask about uhaul trailer rentals.the young woman kept looking at her wrist watch every other sentence..no time for customer service..
Lacks customer service
2. Dollar General
Address: 4970 Commerce Ave, De Leon Springs, FL 32130 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Too much stuff in the aisles. Its a clean store though & ppl are friendly.
Pretty clean, lots of items in stock, very friendly
The cashier wasn’t very friendly.
WiFi never works
The manager guy that works the cash register he is not a very friendly guy and customer service is the most important thing when you walk into any place.
Waiting in line to pay for more than 15 minutes
3. Simpson Rd
Address: 100Lake, Mamie Rd, DeLand, FL 32724 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
I took my Strat in to have locking tuners, Texas Special pickups , and A Gotoh tremolo bridge installed. Professional service and relatively quick service. I highly recommend Peter Taylor.
Took a takamine of mine for set up. Went with loft strings for my daughter to play this guitar. Guitar needed a new nut also. Received it back better than new and sounds phenomenal, action and intonation are incredible. Pete is a real craftsman and true luthier. Now an appointment for my Taylor 🙂
It’s a shame that Peter is shutting down.
7. The Pinnacle Singers
Address: 2391 Banana St, DeLand, FL 32720 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Such a wondrous experience! The melodies? Angelic. The ambience? Elegant. The mood? Electrifying! Very talented group of youngsters!
The show was absolutely fantastic. They’re rendition of phantom of the opera was chilling in the best possible way. Giles was a delight I really enjoyed his singing.
10 out of 10 would recommend! The venue was so intimate and the voices were so incredible I felt like I was in the big apple at the Met.
8. Karlings Inn/Twin Brother Bakery
Address: 4640 Hwy 17, De Leon Springs, FL 32130 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Everything was so delicious!Homemade EVERYTHING!!We had biscuits and gravy. My daughter had the waffle with fresh strawberries The handsqueezed orange juice was the best!
The food was amazing and flavors are so succulent. 9 people in our party and everyone was amazed at the taste and quality of the food.
The baked goods are right out of a French patisserie! Definitely home made. Absolutely a must stop for anyone remotely close by.
Awesome bakery items
Pros: the food is amazing, exactly what you expect. The furnishings are nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. The owner is very engaged in her business and visited every table multiple times while remaining pleasant and up beat. The prices were higher but not unreasonable for the fair.
Cons: We were specifically offered chicken fingers for our son, which was nice as there are no child options on the menu, but the chicken was still raw in the middle. Our particular server was terrible, our food was on the table before our drink order was taken. It wasn’t for a lack of trying, the server just ran off or was never around. She was also chewing gum on the dinner floor. The only other gripe was a lack of German options. I was expecting more than the half dozen specific options.
Great food! Don’t expect fast service. Friendly, but overwhelmed. They definitely need to bite the bullet and hiremore help on Saturday.
Poor service, poor food
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS! Fair warning!
The previous ratings must have been on a good night or maybe on a weekend. Three of us went on a Wednesday and arrived at 5:30 PM and they open at 5. We were the only customers and we sat and waited a very ling time just for drink orders. The hostess came back several times apologizing for no waitress. After a 20 minute wait a lady finally arrived at the restaurant. She appeared to be an owner showed up to take our order. She had the nerve to ask if we were ready to order. My wife had gastric bypass done and does not eat much. We asked to split our order and she quickly replied in a very stern voice “There’s a $4.95 charge for that”. We haven’t been charged for that in many years. We ordered what was described as a thick, blackened grouper and my mother-in law ordered a chicken dish that came with either a white or red sauce. Before she was asked her choice, the lady was gone. We received our salads that appeared to be cut with a meat slicer about 3/4 inch thick and long pieces. This made them very difficult to eat. My wife’s and I’s salad arrived on one plate and put in the middle of the table. After a long wait, we eventually got our meals. White sauce it was. Our grouper was very thin and more than half of the thickness was breading. It was not as described and came on ONE PLATE. The lady said I’ll be back with a plate…seriously? An empty plate arrived and my wife and I simply asked “$4.95 for an empty plate that we have to divide?” She quickly YELLED at my wife “That’s the way we’ve done it for 35 years and no one else has had a problem” This was done in a very nasty voice. Between my wife and I, we only ate about a third of the fish. It was so nasty and smelled like old fish. My mother-in law asked me to take a bite of her chicken. I did and it was totally bland and tasted like is was boiled. She forced her way thru about a quarter of it and quit. She didn’t even want to take it as leftovers. After receiving a $50 bill, we paid and left. I usually don’t complain about food or service and was sure it would only lead to more yelling from the lady.
Will NEVER GO BACK and will always tell people of our VERY BAD experience.
You are forced to give at least a 1 star rating. I would give a minus if possible.
Overpriced and very slow service. Only two people working. Ordered breakfast items and have been waiting over an hour.
9. Raymon Brothers Organ & Electronic Equipment Service
Address: 3375 Old Perkins Hwy, DeLand, FL 32724 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
My sons Blackstar 5 watt guitar amp went dead even though practically new. Raymon Brothers (one guy, not a brother, lol) replaced the ridiculously wimpy output transformer with a well known quality brand and the amp sounds better than it did out of the box! I’m a believer, thanks Raymon Brothers.
Very fast and accurate service. I’ll be coming back for any of more of my equipment’s issues.
Raymond is skilled in his craft with attention to detail and getting the job done right! We are very pleased and so happy for his efforts and excellent results in our organ repair. The organ has been owned for 16 years and has never sounded so good:-) I was blown away by how good the organ sounded as if it was brand new again!- Thanks Raymond, your diligence and craftsmanship are much appreciated!
Please be aware this repair business is good but…there is a $50 minimum charge for diagnosis whether problem was found or no problem found. I was told I was costing him money by talking to him…straight business attitude…
Also if you choose to pick-up your item…you got 3 days a week from 1pm till 5pm..wed..Thursday..Friday to pu your item. In deland..fl
He did offer a money-back for diagnosis if the pa amp failed to work at home.
Bottom line…did not know charges…too far from mlb to pu item and will use Wickham rd music for solid state repairs.
I waited all day for him to come fix my roommates organ in May and he didn’t show. He came today and charged her $65 for a missed appointment in Feb. He argued with her about everything and was generally rude.
Per your response: You do not come to Palm Bay unless you have 3 customers so I doubt we were 100 miles from your last customer. What about the day I stayed here waiting for you only to have you call her and say it was late and your wife was waiting for you at home so you did not show up. You are the only one who’s time is worth anything? And yes, I heard you “explaining” things to her. It sounded like arguing to me. And since she is older and deaf and doesn’t see that well, I told her I would write this for her. I stated that it was her and not me who was the customer. But why don’t you “explain” that to me some more.
Not real efficient amprepair wise !!!terrible my GKamp was chattering like it needed a speaker . which it did not anywzy not my first choice for repair. Better to go to someone in irlsndo. Same price better work . this was my 3rd visit to this business and the other 2 visits on same amp equally not satisfactory on a a high level of quality. Ron hilotti
10. Royal Cuts Barbershop
Address: 4828 Hwy 17, De Leon Springs, FL 32130 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Love the atmosphere! The guys were awesome with my grandson <3
Josh:
I started going to Josh 4 years ago. I haven’t been to another barber since. He takes care of the customer like none other and has even cut me when I really needed one on his off days.
I lived an hour and a half away at some-point through those 4 years and yet I always drove to him because I knew I would get exactly what I wanted. All I had to do was sit in the chair and he knew exactly what to do. He made it easy.
I am now in living 3 and a half hours away and in need of a barber like Josh. Let me just say, I’ll never find one.
Best barbershop in town
11. PianoDrumsGuitar.com Deland & Orange City
Address: 445 S Kepler Rd, DeLand, FL 32724 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Wonderful learning environment. Jay is fantastic and I highly recommend him.
Jay is a wonderful and talented piano teacher. I would highly recommend him for piano lessons for all ages. He has been teaching my 6 years old son for a year, he is extremely patient with him and well planned. He really enjoyed his classes. His new studio is very comfortable and have a straightforward access.
Jay is an extremely gifted musician and teacher. Our son really looks forward to his lesson each week. It is amazing to see the progress from week to week.
12. Total Entertainment Music Store
Address: 501 W International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Seemingly endless supply of musical equipment of all types… Fairly priced and knowledgeable staff; centrally located in Daytona
Friendly staff large selection of instruments and parts Great repair center and very low prices. Will be back for all needs
Nice assortment of shredder guitars. I use ESP, Charvel, and Yamaha as my main guitars. I was very impressed with the selection of Jackson’s and ESPs. Not much Charvel stuff for one of the only “authorized” dealers (which was the reason for my visit). Lots of equipment for most any need you may have. The front counter guy and guitar tech were very helpful!
Very patient and helpful staff. Prices are near fair at this location as well. Very organized and clean facility.
Not bad
Worse guitar shop in the area, I was trying an amp when sudenly the owner sent one of the employee to tell me that if i wasn’t buying the amp I was not allow to play it. How are you supposed to buy something if you don’t try first ahh, of course I told the guy about that. His LOSS!!!!!! .I.
Place is a joke plain and simple. Went in there and got scolded and reprimanded like a 6 year old for simply just touching a guitar. I was told your not allowed to touch anything and that a worker would hand me the guitar. Then on top of it they have only a FIVE minute limit to try it products before they are hounding you to buy. Never again will step foot in there or recommend
I’m a student at the local collage and I had time between classes and wanted check what the store had. I walked in this morning and waited half an hour to be helped in the drum room. After a disappointing experience they stopped me and accused that I stole a $2 lanyard. I assured them this was mine when I came in and I would never do such act. They then checked the video camera footage and found they where wrong and DID NOT apologies. This scenario made me late for my exam and put me under unnecessary stress. I never felt so belittled in my life. Why would anyone support such a rude staff is beyond me. With the amount of great independent music stores in the Daytona Beach area, there’s no reason to step foot in “Total Disappointment”.
13. Brand O’ Guitar Company
Address: 1920 Dolgner Pl, Sanford, FL 32771 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Jessica Bella and I are super impressed with the owner’s ambition and professionalism. We are excited to develop this relationship. 5-star first impression for sure.
Great family company that supports non profit organizations! Professional and quick turn around.
I wish that I could give this company 100 stars. Lisa & Gino are the best of the best & they go above and beyond on every order. I have ordered over 20 branded guitars for various projects and every time I am thrilled with the customer service, design, and finished product. We have been giving these guitars to the founders of companies that we invest in, and the recipients absolutely love them. Can’t recommend enough!!!
Got some guitar strings
14. Select Growers
Address: 4391 FL-11, De Leon Springs, FL 32130 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
This place is beautiful and is very well kept, maintained, and cleaned. They offer a huge variety and great quality of plants, flowers, succulent, and shrubs for your home and landscaping needs. I absolutely look forward to their decorations each season, the displays make a great picture opportunity for the kids. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable of the items they are selling. They also have a cute little snack shack if you need a quick drink, cold treat or snack while walking around looking at everything.
My favorite place to visit any time of year. Wonderful owners and staff.
This is not an ordinary nursery. This is a very well maintained, elaborate plant center. The caretakers have created an environment of excellence beyond words. Every plant is a masterpiece. In 50 years, I have never seen a more elegant display of vegetation, and the staff members are extremely helpful. Prices are more than fair. We are very glad to have found this place.
First visit for West Volusia Historical Society fund raiser, healthy plants but
$$, cows looked bored, what do I know? Nifty photo ops for kids & adults alike.
Not friendly
I did some shopping at this nursery last Tuesday and my credit card information was stolen by a employee. My bank account was wipe out within two day now I am fighting the bank to try and get my money back. Please becareful and do not trust anyone.
Will not support as they have some of the worst drivers I have ever seen working for them. They cut off everybody and when you call the company you get the run a round and voicemails. Yet it continues daily, be careful when driving past their location of hwy 11 as their drivers won’t be…
15. Musical Expressions inc
Address: 970 Stratton St, Deltona, FL 32725 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Wonderful place for music lessons. Very friendly staff
Nick was so kind and helpful!
Didn’t plan on buying anything, originally only brought a guitar I hadn’t used much in for a set up(which was set up nice). Ended up picking up this Player Plus Strat while waiting and decided I wasn’t leaving without it lol. The guys in the shop were chill and helpful.
I’ve purchased two guitars from here so far. They don’t have a huge selection, but the prices are reasonable.
The 2nd one I got from this store was on clearance and they even knocked some off that, giving me a better deal than I could have gotten online for the same guitar,
It going to be cool
They are exceptionally nice!
Was a 5-star establishment previously. Unfortunately, with a new manager, Shane, loyal, long-time customers are no longer valued. Unfortunate.
The guys here are great, the issue is the company itself. I rented a guitar years ago for my daughter, no issues, the bill came out automatically and i returned when classes were over.
Then my next daughter rented the flute for school. I find out a year later that not a single payment has been withdrawn, I own the flute, and I owe $1200 for it. I have a bunch of kids and bills when I set up automatic payments, I expect that the payments are going through unless I get some sort of notification or call telling me otherwise, even just one call.. The card on file is fine, nobody can provide me a reason why I’ve never been charged. The only call i receive is harassing debt collectors two days ago.
My child and I went here first before going to another local music store on recommendation. I dont usually post bad reviews but thought i must for anyone else having their child starting band. This place will try and pressure you into trying to buy whatever it is they have to sell for the week. the employees are rude and wont give you the time of day if you are there with just questions. not to mention the arrogance felt from them. save yourselves the time and find another store.
17. Revolver Entertainment (Music/Movies/Games)
Address: 1414 N Woodland Blvd, DeLand, FL 32720 , De Leon Springs , Florida , United States
Quick and easy guitar string change for my granddaughter.
Lots to choose from reasonable priced.
Not sure about the quality for guitars. For brass and woodwind instruments only go for begginers. I went for a large shank, 4g mouthpiece for my bass trombone. He said he had never heard of a 4g and that large shank is uncommon (it’s really not). But if you just need a 6.5 AL for a begginer, it will be fine.
If you’re looking for a shopping “experience” when buying an instrument, this isn’t the place for you. But if you need a specific part, string, or accessory, this store will probably have that hard-to-find item, and at a lower price than other stores. The owner is friendly and will find what you need. Don’t judge by appearances… I went from store to store in DeLand looking for a 1/8 size violin bridge and this was the only place that had it!
I don’t understand what John Barnes is talking about. I stopped by here for some strings and picks, he had a great selection of guitars and amps at reasonable prices.
Plus a repair shop. I spoke with David he was knowledgeable. Although it’s no guitar center super store if you need guitarist things he has all the basics most smaller stores have.
Owner seems very interested in anything at all I wish he would just close the store if he hated so much I wouldnt buy a pick there
Save yourself the time and the trouble of visiting this joke of a store. Worker/maybe the owner was so rude and acted completely annoyed that a customer had walked into his store and he had to stop eating lunch to wait on us. Came in to spend money and make a purchase but he barely would even show us what we were looking for, let alone show us different options. Store is totally disorganized and there is literally no clear path to walk anywhere in the store…a total mess!! Looks more like a hoarders garage!! Opted to leave after 2 minutes and spend our money elsewhere!
Went in to ask about trumpet mouthpieces, was immediately overwhelmed by the stacks of stuff everywhere. Let’s not even get started on. How one of their workers was extremely rude to me and my family.
